Rated 5 out of 5 by from Roc II Men's Pants Same great quality and fit as the very first pair I bought. Love the zippered 5th Pocket and especially the side by side double belt loops on the back of the pants! Material holds up very well with heavy use. Great Product!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great work pants Work as a wine consultant. Dress casual most days. These are great for me because they look great, are lightweight and are ready to wear right out of the dryer. And the side pocket fits my box cutter perfectly!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Men's roc pant ii Original roc pants used much heavier and better material. These now redesigned to wear like hip huggers....yuck! Just saving fabric ...have bought 30+ pairs through the years....never again! Sad....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I only wear Columbia Pants! This is my second pair of these shorts. The fit is good and the weight of the fabric right for a hot summer day. I have so many pairs of Columbia shorts and pants. The one improvement they could make would be to size the cell phone pocket for my iPhone with the Otter Box Defender case, so I could actually use that really well placed pocket. Then this product would be 5 Stars! I have a few pairs of Columbia pants where the pocket is large enough to fit my phone. That's the perfect feature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect summer pants for the office Bought one pair to try out, ordered 2 more the next week. Lighter than jeans, more comfortable than khakis. Wear them to the office, fishing or on a hike.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and durable I purchased these for work purposes and have been enjoying them for several months. They fit well and allow me to move freely. They've held up with out showing any ware.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Original better So, a decade ago I purchased the original ROC pants. Then 4 years later I noticed it was getting time to order more (I work M-F job and wear those pants everyday) I purchased this version as the original had been discontinued. I noticed immediately that the fabric was thinner and softer (the original got softer the longer you wore it) and after a month the fabric started to pill. The originals never did this. I checked the source of the material and found that they had changed their sourcing. The new pants are so inferior to the originals. I have been able to retain 2 of the original pants, (so only tossed out 3) as for the ROC II, I have tossed 6 pairs in the last 5 years. The original still look better than most of the ROC IIs do. I purchased 10 pairs of the ROC II and pull from this supply when I toss a pair. But it's crazy to me that the ROC II last about an average of 4 years while the original ROCs so far have lasted on average 8.8 years (if the other 2 can go 3 more years (13 total) the average for the original 5 bumps up to 10 years! That's 250% over the version that replaced the original) The original product had a phenomenal rating, I had never seen such a high rating for anything online. There were like only 3 reviews that were less than 4 stars, and 2 of them were for issues that weren't related to the pants. Almost everyone was praising these pants. My only issue was that I would have liked to have seen an Morroccan Red clay color. Oh, in the image the little black specks are the pilling of the fabric, looks fine 10 feet away, but get right next to me and you notice it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great travel pants I have two pair of these pants and I am about to order for my husband. Traveling to Ireland this month and they are great versatile travel wear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best casual pants bar none! These are my favorite pants for every day use. The granite cloth is very durable and is excellent for year round use. Not as heavy a bluejeans so great for summer use. Not as light as linen so great for winter use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy with a good product I'm 6 feet tall, 175 +/- 5 pounds, and these pants fit like they modeled them on my body. They're among the most comfortable pants I own, seem to be made out of fairly tough material (long-term durability remains to be seen, but I'm optimistic based on the weight and texture of the fabric), and the extra/semi-hidden zip pocket is a nice feature. They look good enough that I'm happy to wear them in a semi-professional environment, too. The only negative I can report is that I was unable to purchase them in a Columbia store, because they don't carry my size in store. (Apparently 34 inseam pants are a low-demand item at retail.) Shipping from the website was fast, though, so that was minor - I just tried on a 32x32 pair in store to verify the fit and then went home and ordered the longer inseam version.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for work. I work on film sets as a grip, and was looking for good tough pants that weren't so heavy I couldn't use them during Texas summers. These fit the bill perfectly. The material is nice and tough, holds up to the abuse of various equipment and gear running into them daily, as well as the rigors of all sorts of locations trying to tear them up. While I do wish that there was a little more stretch, and slightly less weight, I knew what I was buying so can't complain. The fit is good, true to size and a good middle ground between roomy and form fitting. I've been complimented a few times about them. ;) I own about a dozen pairs of these, love em that much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long time wearer I've worn these to work (desk job) for many years. I find they're comfortable and easy. They're look more professional than jeans and they're cooler for warmer months.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from ROC II They are not as roomy as originals, but found the fit comfortable. Nice material - Like a soft denim.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Unfortunate...Shrinkage I've worn Columbia pants for years... primarily because Gert's signature inside let me know they would stand up to Middle Eastern deserts, European back-alleys, and rural American bean fields. Never once did I think, "I'm going to get these dry-cleaned." Imagine my surprise after one washing when my perfectly-sized 32" inseam was 1.5" shorter! My indignation grew when I checked the care tag. You can't go "bushwhacking" as the description says and then expect these to get treated like my Hart Schaffner Marx blazer. So, I conducted a few experiments... After my columbia.com order, I purchased 32" and 34" inseams in different colors from Bass Pro and from Amazon and washed them in various formats. All encountered some shrinkage. The 32s were unusable and the 34s were still too long. So... I took them all to a seamstress to let out or add to the hem. Ridiculous, perhaps, but these are my daily wear... they're comfy, fit my butt just right and look decent for years. I will continue to purchase them, with the understanding they'll have to be hemmed every time. BE AWARE... the shrinkage (length only) if washed in warm water and dried on medium heat is substantial. Wash cold and dry low... or Dry Clean as the tag suggests.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I needed These pants are exactly what I was looking for. They are comfortable and I can move, but still look nice. I have several pairs now and hope they stay in stock so I can buy more in the future.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Used to be better I have a pair of ROC II pants that are 8-10 years old and I still wear them frequently (made in Guatemala). They are with out a doubt the best pair of pants I have ever worn. They are made of heavy yet comfortable material and cut for active wear. I ordered several pairs of the new version hoping I would have the same experience. Unfortunately I was disappointed. The material is much thinner and not as comfortable. The cut is too tight in the crotch and overall the pants are not cut for active wear. Needlework does not come close to matching my old ROC pants. No way these pants will last and wear as well as the old style. It's a shame because Columbia used to focus on quality out door sport/activity gear.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from legs tight vs ROC Tried a pair of ROC pants on closeout sale which fit so well I ordered three pairs of ROC II, but unfortunately the thighs fit tight on my cyclist legs compared to the earlier version. Also went from 36 waist on ROC to 35 on the ROC II for a better fit, but waist size was similar. Getting pants that fit is always such a challenge! Aside from fit on me, these are very nice pants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new favorite pants These are my new favorite pants. I started out buying two pairs to try them, and have now bought two more. They are durable, comfortable, the zipper front pocket is a great feature. Love these pants.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Bit Tight I have purchased multiple pairs of these pants over the last few years and I still love them despite the fact that the newest version is tighter across the hips and thighs. It's not me because the older version still fits a bit better, From the standpoint of examination the only difference is the Columbia label above the right rear pocket, but there is a bit of material missing from the former pattern.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great work pants These pants tend to run a bit small on me, but a 36W 34L fit great. I am 6'2" 200 lb. I have 3 pairs that I rotate for my outdoor job. They hold up well and are a great value. I don't use the zipper pocket much at all, and my phone, which is on the larger size, doesn't quite fit in the thigh pocket. The fabric feels tough and durable in comparison to the Ultimate ROC II, which fits more true to size (if not on the big side) and feels more like a casual or work pair of pants. I ended up sending the Ultimate ROC II back and ordering more of the ROC II. Great pants, will buy again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a 'regular fit' This is labelled as regular fit but is baggy like a pair of ROCs I've had for a few years. I have 2 other ROC II pants I bought a few months ago and these are considerably larger in the seat and legs. Seems to be a different material also. The style # on the tag tag is 1666381.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from MEN’S ROC™ II PANT Overall the pants are good quality and comfortable for multipurpose use.....hiking, fishing casual every day wear, etc. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the Velcro on the backside pockets.
Date published: 2016-12-26
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great pants These pants are very comfortable and are high quality. They are true to size and are not the least bit stiff. The button has given me trouble on some of my past pairs because it "snaps" and comes undone from time to time. Overall GREAT PANTS!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dissapointed As I think others might have mentioned, sadly Columbia has decided to "improve" on a product that was already very good. The same "size" pants that I have worn in the past are now too snug in the waist and too tight in the crotch. The size up is too big that they fall off. The pockets are not as roomy as before and the familiar Columbia snap is replaced by a button. Too bad Columbia didn't realize they already had a good thing and didn't need to change it. The only change they should have done was add some more colors to the line.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Pants These are very durable pants, warm, reliable. The safety pocket is excellent for a wallet, phone, keys, or even small arms for those who a concealed carriers. The cell pocket fit an iPhone 6 equipped with an Outerbox very well. The Velcro is also low profile and does snag fuzzies as one would expect. Furthermore the button closure is very reliable. These are excellent pants, so much so I bought them in multiple colors.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Buttons questionable I love the pants and their functionality. I wear them everyday for work in an office setting. I have found from time to time the snaps on the buttons are faulty. Some of them will not stay snapped closed even when the slightest pressure is applied such as using the urinal. It has not been a huge issue as I wear a belt. However, it can be a nuisance.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not the same pants as the cut is smaller Agree with other people that the cut through the legs are smaller and the material is not the same and I run into this with other products and it is very frustrating and I also would pay more

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Initial review Have had these two weeks. Cut is great: not slim nor full. Just right. Waist is just right. Material is very soft, very comfortable. Great for business casual, as the appearance is a step above khakis, IMO. LOVE THEM. True to size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great value! Bought a pair of this pants last Summer, good quality, great for a outdoor activities.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disapppointed I have been wearing Roc II pants for a good many years in various colors. I ordered online a size not available in retail stores thinking these would be the perfect fit - not too tight or not too baggy. I was extremely disappointed to find out the style, sizing, and quality of material had changed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid pair of pants My third pair of these pants. Love them. Great fit and high quality material. Love the zippered side pocket for my wallet as I don't like to carry it in my back pocket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GOOD FIT AND GOOD QUALITY As good as my old pair. That pair has lasted for years and still looks great
Date published: 2016-10-26
Rated 2 out of 5 by from ROC II Pants These pants fit nothing like the ROC pants that I currently have. Waist was fine but the cut through the hips and thighs were extremely tight and with nothing in the pockets. Purchased for everyday wear, I see no way that these would work for active wear.
Date published: 2016-09-28
Rated 1 out of 5 by from it is NOT a replacement for The Original Roc pants I have used the original ROC pants for over 10 years (and always have 4 pairs in different colors) and usually wear them for work until I wear them out and then wear them for hiking and camping and working around the yard! Best stinkin' pants EVER! I am SO very disappointed that the original has been "phased out". I was told on the phone that this style was the replacement and was the same material (not even close) and the same fit (see previous comment in parentheses). I have now tried and returned all of the styles available and am kinda of heart broken...if one can be over a pair of pants! I may actually have to consider Dockers. Ugh. Dear Columbia, please bring back the original. I will gladly pay more for them. They are worth it!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly recommend these! I have another pair of these and they have been some of my favorite and most comfortable pants, so when I was looking for new pants, these were top of my list.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from New Roc 2 Pants I have been wearing Roc 2 pants since 2006. Ordered 5 pair the first of the year. I am very disappointed in the fit and the quality of the new design. I have worked in the old style Roc 2, everyday since 2006. I regret to say I will have to find a new brand of pants. The new style fits too tight and looks and feels like very cheap pair of pants. I do hope you will one day go back to the old style style material and fit.
Date published: 2016-08-12
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Falling Standards! I have been wearing ROC pants for several years, and have purchased 12 or so pair over the past 5 years. They WERE my favorites. These new ROC II are a cheap version of the original (Although not quite as bad as the unwearable Ultimate ROC Pants!). Everything is made slightly smaller and cheaper. Thinner material, smaller pockets, less roomy thighs, cheaper zippers. Less comfort, less utility. Hoping that Columbia comes out with a new "Original ROC Pant" !
Date published: 2016-07-16
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Fit Fits really good and is very comfortable. I bought 3 pair and these pants will be my go to pants for causal wear.
Date published: 2016-06-25
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great traveling pants I own 2 pair of these pants and find them very comfortable and durable. Perfect for travel and casual wear. The velcro closures on the back pockets and the one zippered front pocket are great for securing personal items.
Date published: 2016-06-11
Rated 4 out of 5 by from ROC II pants These used to be my favorite pants and I guess they still are. However, they are not as good as they used to be. The pockets are shallower now by two inches and change falls out when sitting down. The overall cut is also tighter; I had to go up a size but still the legs are not as full. They went from 10 inches to 8.5 inches. This causes them to bind when walking up hills. Too bad that saving a little money on fabric has diminished a great pair of pants to just a good pair of pants.
Date published: 2016-06-05
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great pants, not enough color selection Why not have it in grey? If you had beige, grey, and brown, that's all I'd wear. Sadly, they don't have the traditional colors to go along with most people wardrobe.
Date published: 2016-05-28
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Used for work pants I bought these pants before, and liked them. The new pants I just ordered are a much thinner material than the pants of the pants in the past. I don't think they will last as long or wear as well as work pants for me. Better suited for casual wear not for work pants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rock Ii pants The pants had good fit, finish and are an outstanding casual choice for outdoors and around town.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bomb Proof, Insanely Durable! Fit true-to-size. Great quality, heavy duty and yet still comfortable. Can be worn as casual, to the office, or on a serious hiking adventure! These R.O.C II pants are built to take a beating!
