Men's Silver Ridge™ Cargo Pant 4.2 5 107 107
Comfortable coverage. I'm grateful for the reviews of these pants. My waste is a 35" measured so typically purchase 36"x34". Ordering one size up, 38"x34", like some reviews advised was great. The fit was just a bit loose but very comfortable. The lightweight material with a closer fit is not what this 59 year old was after anyway, haha. The cargo pockets don't have flaps, sleek, and won't catch on drawer pulls, airline armrests, etc. It might help to sew the cargo pocket openings maybe 3/8" at the edges so loose objects won't slip out when zippers not closed. Very comfortable in 90 degrees plus. August 11, 2014
Amazing pants These pants are amazing. I would own 10 pair if I could. I wore them in India and the pants were true to their function, the sweat was wicked away from my legs and dried quickly. They are amazingly comfortable too and breath great. I would give them five stars but the velcro patches for the pockets seem a little small, which is fine, but it feels like they won't last a long time. But in all honesty, velcro can only survive so many washes and uses before it just gets worn out. August 3, 2014
I live in these things Like the heading says...literally...I live in these things - Whether at the office, out on the water fishing, or working a film set - I almost always have on a pair of these. They're super comfortable, dry quickly and look great in any situation. Protecting myself from the sun is something I strive for everyday. This product certainly does that without making things too hot or too restraining. I only wish they came in more colors like green and black. June 15, 2014
Very comfortable, but a little small. These pants are very comfortable and lightweight. Maybe a little too lightweight for walking through brush or thorny plants. They do not shed water, so if you get a light color, be aware that water will show, but it dries quickly. They do run a little small. I usually wear a 38X32, but a 40X32 fits great. April 3, 2014
Skinny Jean People - These Are For You! If you want to use them for hiking and such, get something else. These are just like all of the trendy skinny jean styles out there. The pants are nice, yet the are very "crowding" in the thigh. I like mine to be a little less binding when I hike. March 16, 2014
Sizing Alert For a given waist size, the fit around the hips is very tight. Recommend ordering one size larger in waist than your normal size. February 23, 2014
Silver Ridge Cargo Waist runs a little small. Length is a little long, otherwise I love these pants. Wish they made more colors. February 21, 2014
Africa Safari Purchased the pants on-line for our upcoming Africa Safari. The quality is very good and fit well. Make sure you order one size larger (length was true). February 1, 2014
Almost everything.. but not in black I have several pair of Silver Ridge Cargo pants and love wearing them! I no longer wear 'convertable pants' so these are perfect in that respect. My only disappointment is the color. I ordered 'gravel' this time hoping to get something close to charcoal or even black.. January 20, 2014
Very Bad Fit The sizing is very skimpy ,the rise is too short which makes the pant difficult to put on. The legs are too tight which makes the pant impossible to use for hiking. Why can't Columbia be consistent in their sizing, and where is the Quality Control to make sure a size 30 hiking pant is a hiking pant and not a tight fitting jean style . I own many Columbia pants and have never encountered this before. January 14, 2014
Husband Likes Ordered these for my husband. He loves them, definitely more for spring summer than winter. They do run a tad small. I asked him if we should trade them in for a bigger size and he said no so they must not be that much more smaller. January 12, 2014
Love the pants I have always worn the Columbia Cargo pant. I decided to go to the source to buy the pant. January 3, 2014
Not long enough! Nice pants, well made, nice fabric & color. Unfortunately, your longest inseam is too short for me. Why are they not available with longer inseams, so taller people can wear them? December 31, 2013
runs very small and length is shorter than expected These pants look like they would have been very good, but the sizing seems way off. 30 x 30 size was very snug through the hips and thighs although the waist fit fine. The 30" length was considerably shorter than 30" length in similar L.L. Bean pants. Unfortunately, without a 31" waist option, can't get the correct fit since 32" is way too large. December 28, 2013
Great Pants are very lightweight and comfortable. Perfect for hiking, traveling, or buming around. Very true to size. December 16, 2013
Good Stuff They're great, light weight material, quick drying, very comfortable & lots of pockets!! They're also available in shorts. In my opinion they run a tad small(I like a looser fit) so I got them several sizes larger. I made a few adjustments as well, adding a draw string inside the waist & zippers on the main left and right pockets. If you're going to be near fire or sparks just be aware that the smallest ember will leave a hole in this material. This does however give one the opportunity to apply a unique patch, thus adding "character" to the garment.. December 13, 2013
Watch the fit as others have said - sizing is on the tight side. Lovely latch for the belt but a bit hard to get used to. Very light and feel good on. Typical durable Columbia quality. Bought these for the tropics. December 13, 2013
Terrible sizing I cannot seem to find a size in this pant. The legs on the 34" waist seem like they belong on the 30" size pant. If I move up to 36" waist, the pant seems bulky in the crotch area. Columbia needs to figure out their sizing in pants and start making pants for people who actually have a little muscle in their legs. December 11, 2013
Very good, but ....... My inseam is 30". However, had to take it to a tailor to shorten it. That was an expenditure that I did not appreciate. I did note a previous customer's review mentioning the fact of the excessive length of the pants. November 29, 2013
Love these pants!!! Bought all three colours right off the bat because I knew they'd be awesome from all the reviews. They're super lightweight, absorb wetness (sweat, water) quickly, and wash awesomely. They're true to size except for the length - they're just SLIGHTly too long. I got a 30/30, and I'm pretty sure it's more of a 30/31... It's no hassle though, just looks kinda funny when they gather that much at the bottom. But whatever, I don't care that much how it looks, it keeps me cool and dry in the heat and humidity of Africa! November 28, 2013
Size and color variables Like the pants very much but have two small problems: 1. I wear a 35/31 in a pair of slacks--to get a good fit in these pants I bought a 36/30, i.e. order a slightly larger waist and a slightly shorter length. 2. the names of the colors are unintelligible. Ex: tusk is a medium khaki--gravel is a dark green, etc. Wish they would be a little less 'cutesy' with the names Otherwise is a good pants November 19, 2013
Silver Ridge Pants Nice, lite-weight. Wish it had more colors. Will get another pair. November 18, 2013
Love the Pants Really Nice Pants Husband Loves them. Fit Real Nice and Keeps him Cool October 15, 2013
Review I bought 4 pairs of your shorts cargo style and they are not as good as the many I have purchased over the years...the zippers do not work well at all...not a good thing when you go to a rest room and you can not zip up the pants. I also had to take them to alterations to have the flaps on the back pockets sowed down..who needs a back pocket ??? They are carg shorts!!!!!!! October 7, 2013
GREAT PANTS, VERY COOL, a little long These pants are awesome. I live in S. Louisiana and i work outdoors. My job requires me to wear long pants, which makes for an even hotter summer. These pants keep me as cool as possible considering my work conditions. They dry very quickly. The only issue I have with the pants is that they run a bit long. I normally wear a 32" inseam...had to return my original order for a 30" inseam and they still a touch too long. When they are wet, the material stretches, which makes them WAY TOO LONG. I end up having to roll the bottoms to avoid constantly stepping on the pants with my heels. Other than that, the pants are absolutely awesome. September 12, 2013
Super comfortable for traveling, outdoor activities and hot weather These pants are the best for traveling, they are so comfortable for sitting in a plane for 10 to 12h, all the pockets are great for holding plane tickets, passports and such... They take no space in your bag. They are also excellent for wearing in very hot weather being so light and breathable and when you wash them they are dry in no time. They are great for hiking or just hanging out on weekends. Also check out the convertible version where legs can be unzipped to become great shorts. Highly recommended. September 8, 2013
Great value These pants are very light weight and comfortable -- a great value. September 8, 2013
Great looks and feels great for a thru-PCT & thru-CDT hiker These pants, not available at either Campmor or Amazon in my size and desired gravel color (dark forest ranger green), were found at the source at Columbia. I am very pleased with them. The cargo pockets (one of them with a secure zipper closure) carry useful things on my hikes, but they lie flat when empty, therefore the pants look neat and trim for city use too. I also like the lightweight belt with a simple, easily adjustable plastic snap buckle. I have worn nylon pants exclusively ever since learning how useful they can be when I hiked from Mexico to Canada on two separate occasions (PCT 94 & CDT 99). Nylon dries quickly. The pants can be put back on soaking wet after fording a stream and they will dry on the trail by body heat alone. Nylon material also lasts for a long time; two nylon pants have lasted me for two years, wearing them on alternate days (but I only take one on long hiking trips to reduce pack weight). Nylon material is light and flexible; I can sit in meditation in these pants with my legs crossed in half lotus, no problem. September 6, 2013
Stitching shrunk when first washed The first time the pants were washed, the stitching shrunk, and the legs puckered. So, the good looking slacks now look horrible. The fit is fine. The function is excellent. With the shrunken stitching, I'm not sure if I will ever wear this pair again. August 27, 2013
Great Pants Good looking, durable and very comfortable. A great value. Also has tall sizes. August 15, 2013
great features, didn't fit me These pants look great and the quality is fine, but the style doesn't fit my slender hips and full thighs. They pull through the hip and upper leg when I lift my knee upward. Not comfortable for hiking for me. So sorry but must send them back. A larger pair won't fix the problem because the pants fit fine in the waist and from the knee down. It would be awesome if you would offer a longer pant, inseam 35" or 36". August 10, 2013
Suggested Improvements The length was 1/2" longer than the stated size. More selection of dark colors would be helpful. You really don't want light colors for hiking pants. August 7, 2013
Silver Ridge trousers These trousers are super comfortable, however in length they run a bit large: I measured the inseam from the correct point in the gusseted crotch to the cuff and it is about 1.5 inches too long. That is, I wear a 30" inseam and the pair I purchased measure an inseam of 31.5" and let me tell you, people who wear a 30" inseam really do wear a 30" inch inseam, thus the extra 1.5 inches in inseam length are not appreciated. To be sure, when activity gets tough and one is hiking and sweating, clothes get sticky and material stretchs, so any extra material becomes very annoying whilst it drags about in the dirt and grime, exposing it to faster wear-and-tear. However, the spring loaded zipper "latch" on the left cargo pocket is nice and keeps the zipper latch out of the way and from dangling: so, if you put your wallet in that pocket, no eye attaction is made from a dangling or swinging zipper latch, like on most other trousers. Also, the cargo pocket is single pleated making the trousers more office friendly like, where with double pleates the look would be a bit too casual for office wear. I buy clothes I can wear both in office and in field. The belt detaches and you can use your own, however, I prefer belt attachment like Prana did with their Zion Stretch and Patagonia did with their Gi II and Gi III trouser. The sleek and innovative design of the hem in the leg (that lays diagonal across the thigh) and the gusseted crotch make for a very comfortable trouser (how challenging to keep all the pieces together it must have been when sewing these trousers together during manufacturing). The material is a bit thin and though it might be tough, just a bit more thickness would make them for transitioning from those warm day hikes to the cooler evening temps, because who really wants to change clothes on the go out in the field. Over all, the trouser fit well enough, mind the over emphasis on the "relaxed" fit in the inseam. I would, too, going back to the belt design, add two wide-like belt loops in the back of the waits and go for an aggressive eight belt loops, but that's just me; however, the spring loaded belt clip is fancy, just not sure it will hold up after a bit of salt from body sweat or dunks in the ocean. Cheers! August 1, 2013
male delivery was satisfactory---material is comfortable--have not had them long enough to judge wear July 25, 2013
Odd sizing Took me 3 goes to get something that nearly fits. Waist lines are small even though there is some elasticity, and legs are extremely long, but that's mainly because these pants sit lower than conventional trousers. So for someone who would normally buy 33"W x 32"L, I had to go with 34"W and 30"L. Lower rating on quality because of the velcro used on pockets - does not secure wallet pocket at all. But love the style, which is why I'm keeping them! July 15, 2013
Best Summer Pants Protects you from sun, If you get wet dries very quickly. Very light and thin but tough material. July 11, 2013
Great Pants I love your Silver Ridge trousers. I originally bought your shorts in the same fabric for boating and liked that they're cool and dry really fast. It's hot and humid here in north Florida. I bought a pair of these trousers to wear for Zumba because of their quick dry properties. They were perfect. I liked them so much that I bought two more pairs. I wear them almost every day. When you make more colors (a charcoal would be nice) I'll buy them too. Sincerely, Mark July 8, 2013
Mens Silver Ridge Cargo Pant I bought 2 pair for my son and I for a trip to Thailand. We loved the material, it is extremely light weight which worked well in the hot climate of Thailand. We carried them around in our backpacks and put them on when we visited the temples. The waist size runs about 1 inch smaller than normal for both of us. I normally wear a 32 or 33, but based on previous reviews, I ordered a 34 and it fit well. The length runs true to size. These pants our very comfortable and light. I would recommend them for any type of travel, local hiking or even just wearing around town. Excellent pants and I am going to order some more. July 7, 2013
very nice pants These pants are comfortable, look nice, and have all the pcokets in just the right place. July 5, 2013
Great look I bought this pant for my husband and he absolutely loves them. Says they are extremely comfortable and will wear them on an overseas flight. Look great on him as well. I followed the advise of others and ordered one size up (34 to a 36) and they are perfect. My only complaint is that if they came in odd length sizes, they wouldn't need to be shortened an inch. July 4, 2013
Good value for money!!! The pants was true to size and as described very light weight and comfortable. The only problem I noticed was the little sound while moving which is not a bigger issue :) July 1, 2013
Fishing pant I've used other pants for fishing and these fit the bill. By far my favorite fit and the fastest drying. June 28, 2013
Great pants for hot weather These have become my favorite pants for Arizona summers. They are cool, dry quickly, and feel great. In cooler weather I wear Vertx tactical pants but in the summer, these are superior. June 27, 2013
Love the pants I love the material and feel of the pants. I do wish the pants fit more true to size. This type of pant should not fit snug through the hips and legs. I had to buy 2 sizes up in the waist to get the fit I wanted in the rest of the pants. That said, again, I love the overall feel and comfort (once I had the waist taken in). June 27, 2013
Nice Pants The pants fit great and the sizing is better than most pants I have ordered previously. Now keep in mind I have only worn and washed these pants once, but they are very comfortable and appear pretty well made; the durability of this pant is still to be determined. June 25, 2013
Designed with someone else in mind I agree with other reviewers, the pants run small (skinny). I've owned several of Columbia's field pants over the years and the latest version has moved away from the features I'm looking for. I need roomy pants that are designed for working in the desert heat. The previous Titanium pants were more functional, with larger cargo pockets and a looser fit. Although I'm not a fan of the new style, the quality and durability of the pants seem just as dependable as previous designs. June 24, 2013
bad advertising These pants were originally designed for a slimmer man with a trim look when on the body and I have owned two pairs of them in the original slim design. Now you are making them with a "relaxed fit" which means bigger rear end and leg room. That is fine -- BUT put it in the ad! I would never have ordered these pants with that warning. June 18, 2013
Great pair of fishing pants These are the best pants I have tried on to fish in the heat with. The fit is very comfortable. They do not cling, but neither are they too large in the crotch and rear as other brands were when trying to find a comfortable fit. I bought 1 size up as Columbia states "they run a little small". I wear a 40 (fm fit good to tight throughout the year), so the 42 (even with a little elastic in the side-waist) fit extremely well. Will try them out next year on a tarpon trip to Boca Grande and the south Florida heat. Pants seem to made well and the web belt that came with them was a plus. June 18, 2013
Many things to like BUT Tried a 36 first and they are pretty tight in the crotch. I have a bit of a belly and though there's an elastic waistband, the belly causes the crotch to ride up. So I bought a 38W pair because I like everything else about them but the 38 is too big. So, if you are a true size in the waist these are great, light and comfortable. June 7, 2013
Best pants I have owned in 43 years. I love these pants. Comfortable, lightweight, cool, and look great. I bought one size bigger in the waist and one size shorter in the length and they fit perfect. These pants are great for watching sporting events, coaching, hiking, fishing, or camping, but I also feel comfortable wearing them to casual events like a family dinner, school functions, or a casual business seminar. They look great with T-shirts or polo's. my wife even likes the look of them. June 5, 2013
