Rated 5 out of 5 by Pretty terrific pants!! These pants fit nicely and are very functional. I wore them on an eight hour day hike and they were comfortable and I never got hot on a 70 degree sunny and breezy day. Lots of pockets for carrying plenty of extra goodies (energy bars, cell phone, extra t/p) with a secured zippered pocket for making sure I didn't lose my car key!! I have already ordered a second pair. The only recommendation I have, is, I would like to have the zippered fly about 1/2" longer. May 19, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love these These pant are super quick drying. They have been put through a lot in my fishing adventures, and there are no flaws in them so far. The belt buckle is a little different, but I haven't had any issues with it. The only thing I wish they would add would be a zipper in/on the right pocket for the things I need to keep secure a little higher up than knee level. May 11, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome Traveling Pants I've been travelling in Italy for the past 10 days and these pants have been perfect in terms of comfort, quick was and dry and for carrying all the travel gear in the cargo pockets. Highly recommend for spring traveling. April 29, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not satisfied I am returning these pants. Somehow, they are astonishingly fragile. The belt is ridiculous in its lack of substance, and the belt buckle is unreliable, once you figure out how it works. I've never encountered a buckle like it before. There isn't much reason to reinvent belt buckles except maybe to save money by making tiny changes. This is a piece of clothing devised by an accountant interested in maximizing profit and minimizing material costs. I am very, very disappointed. Since this was part of my first purchase, it is not an auspicious start to customer relations. I'm quite serious. My view of Columbia sportswear is not what it was. I will be asking REI clerks about their views of Columbia clothing. April 13, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by silver ridge cargo pants We live in hot and humid south florida and my husband does a lot of gardening and these pants are light weight durable and quick drying. There was a problem however with the belt. It was twisted and could not be fixed as the material around the buckle was sewn in. March 31, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect! Can't speak on the long term durability of these pants yet, but I've worn them to work and camping almost every day, along with another pair with different pockets, and the fit, pocket layout, breathability, and overall comfort are all excellent. Best pants I own! February 24, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by BNATommy Tried pants from other vendors These fit best February 9, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Vacationer Only problem is the rise is too short. If your body shape requires a longer rise, this is not a good purchase. Otherwise, a very good warm weather pant. January 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice! Really like the lightweight material and fit. December 30, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Field Pants My job takes me through some serious thick forest and brush. These pants are extremely light weight and comfortable. I still routinely wear my first pair (purchased in 2013) in the field and have since bought two more colors. Although thin, the nylon ripstop holds up to constant pulls from thorns and brush. I also wear them in the winter over a wool base layer. During winter, if it's wet or windy I add waterproof rain pants but in the summer I just let them get wet and they stay comfortable and dry quickly. I've had nylon pants in the past that hang poorly and look cheap, but these hold their form well even after beating them up and washing them more than 30 times. December 17, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Love these Columbia nylon pants! I love nylon cargo shorts and have been wanting some comfortable, lightweight, quick drying nylon long pants, so bought these in a 44 to be sure they were not tight. (I usually wear a 42 or 40 comfort waist). These lightweight pants are very comfortable in warm or cool weather and also for moderately cold weather over long winter underwear. Only problem is too few beltloops, but they are OK if you remove the fabric belt and use a leather belt. Since I like these pants, I recently ordered some heavier weight nylon water resistant Columbia pants. December 15, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent pants Excellent pants, great feel and quality. Run slightly small but still great. November 27, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Light weight The cargo pant lets you move freely during any activity ,drys quickly and is light weight which great for hiking. November 24, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love em My favorite pants for anything outdoors November 23, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice, but Sized incorrectly I love the pants. As I noted in other reviews, they run small. I usually wear a 33 inch waist, so I ordered a 34 and that was just right. However, the length was to be 32 and instead was 34-- mislabeled, apparently. Rather than hassling with the exchange, I spent $10 to have them hemmed. November 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Quality and Comfortable fit These pants are very lightweight and comfortable while providing protection from the sun. November 18, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by GREAT LIGHT WEIGHT PANT There are times I want just a nice comfortable light weight pants. These are the ones - Great look and fit - I am a 33" inseam and just can't find them so I get a 34" and have them hemmed. For the most part with the exception of dress pants my closet is full of Columbia Sportswear gear. These pants follow-on in line with the overall quality of Columbia products. i can purchase a product like these pants and do not have to worry about a thing. Really a very nice pair of pants. November 15, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice Pants but Bum Sizes I have several of the Silver Ridge Cargo Shorts and really like the material as well as the fit. I figured the pants would be the same. Based on the reviews here I ordered one size larger but it was too big. I returned it and ordered a size smaller (my normal/shorts size) and it went back also because it was too small. I cannot advise anyone considering these pants to go either up or down a size; I guess you'll just have to try one and see. Since I haven't worn any I can only say that the shorts of the same material are terrific. October 28, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Lightweight Pants These are super lightweight. If you're looking for hiking pants for summer months, these are your pants. They arent going to do well in the cold, but the dry pretty fast after getting wet. One important sizing note: I had to send the first pair I bought back. You'll want your waist to be a size up and your inseam to be a size down (at least). October 21, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great touring pants My husband bought two pair of these pants...tusk and grill for our recent 3 week touring trip to Europe wearing them everyday. He couldn't stop raving about the comfort, lightweight and SPF quality of these pants. They were great for touring on hot days as well as going out to dinner at night. He got a 32 waist rather than his regular 31". The lightweight fabric allowed for easy packing as well as occasional hand-washing at night. They were fully dry by morning. He particularly liked the inner zipped pockets which help secure his wallet, etc. against pick-pockets. These are his go-to travel and comfort pants. An investment well paid for. October 16, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Light as advertised Excellent wear ability. Looks good out on a hike, or out in public eye. Stands up and conferrable in high heat. August 19, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Need 1" size increments Love the Silverridge. I've had several pairs of the convertible pants all in waist 30. Perfect fit. So I bought the non-convertible "cargo" version in 30" but they were slightly too small. (The website DID say they ran a little small.) So I returned and bought the next size up (32") Too big (as expected). I just wish they made these great pants in 1" increments. A 31" would fit me perfectly. 8^( Otherwise I would give them a 5 star. August 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great pants for travel I bought these pants for my husband. The primary reason was for nice casual pants for traveling in Europe. He loves them. August 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice Pants for hiking and traveling Comfortable, durable and well made. They seem to be a little small for me, especially the thigh area when hiking. A friend of mine told me they run a little small so I ordered one size larger. I typically wear 38 and I'm 6'2" 215lbs. I would prefer a looser fit in the legs. August 14, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great pant Picked up the Silver Ridge Cargo Pant for wet wading and walking through the woods where there are no trails. The pants might run a bit small on the waist size but I am thrilled to find a company that offers an inseam longer than 32 (seems like most companies only expect people to go outdoors if they have short legs). Three things that I really like about the pants are the cargo pockets that don't balloon and stay very snug to the leg, the extremely sturdy rivet closure at the waist instead of a plastic, sewn on button, and the belt loops that allow me to use the provided belt or one of my own. August 11, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cool Pants These pants are so comfortable after I got the correct size (suggest you size up 1 size). They wash well, dry quickly l and in our Texas heat they really do keep you cooler. July 24, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great slacks Very comfortable. I love all the pockets. July 16, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Get One Size Larger! Great pant for traveling - lots of secure pockets, lightweight, washes & Dries quickly. It's the only pant I take with me to Europe. Definitely get one size larger. I had a pair that I bought a year ago (made in Vietnam# - 34x30. The new pair I ordered - #made in Bangladesh) were very tight - I returned them and got a 36x30 and they fit great!!! July 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Multipurpose pants! I ordered these for my husband, who is a big fan of Columbia insect blocker pants. These are not just good for hiking but are nice casual pants, especially for warm weather, and pack down to nothing for travel. July 4, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice pants, not the color they appear to be online These pants are great. Lightweight, good for gardening, which is why I bought them for my husband. Two words of caution...they run long, so although he wears a 34 length in every other pant, we ordered 32. We knew to do that because he has another pair that are 34 length and they are way too long. Got 36 to have them loose for gardening. That worked. But, I ordered gravel, which looks gray on the website. I also figured that, in life, gravel is gray. Well, they are green. I've never seen green gravel before. I guess I should have called Columbia to double check the color...but also suggest they use a more appropriate name for green pants, particularly if they show up gray on the website. My husband kept them though, since they are just for gardening. July 2, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Silver Ridgt Cargo Pant We haven't had the high 90 degree weather that I purchased these for but so far they seem to be exactly what I was looking for. I use these under my riding pants more as a base layer rather than an outer garment. I can remove my riding pants and have comfortable pants to walk around in. I do some touring on my Motorcycle and need pants that do not add heat or bulk. The wicking attribute is a plus for cooling as it slows the evaporation of perspiration but helps keep me dry on long rides. The pants are small in the waist but not in length, purchased a size larger and they fit fine. The last long ride was 11,460 miles round trip. 72 day mostly camping, another reason for lighter weight. On a Motor Cycle the requirement for light weight and pack small and light is imperative. July 1, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Pants Just as comfortable as the shorts. June 28, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Confusing I had bought Silver Ridge convertible pants at REI. I am one of the MANY in between sizes, a 31 waist. The 32 waist fit fine. They didn't carry the regular Silver Ridge cargo pants there so I order them online. They are too big, fit like a regular 32 inch waist fits me,,,falling off. Seems to be a confusing size difference in the style of pants, I am going to send them back and try a pair of 30 inch in the Silver Ridge cargo pants. June 13, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Comfortable and functional Only worn these once, but really like them and they are very comfortable. I expect to get a lot of use out of them. May 20, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Men's Silver Ridge Cargo Pants Overall a good product in terms of quality. However, the issue with this pants line, and its a BIG issue, is that they run extremely small if you have any type of an athletic build, particularly in the leg/butt area. I normally take a 33/34 size waist and most times i have a little extra space in a 34 waist pants. I ordered these in a 34 size and I couldnt even get them up past my thighs to buckle them and I am 6'1 205 lbs. Great pants if you have a thin build and legs like a bird, otherwise I recommend ordering these pants in a size or even two sizes bigger than your normal pants size. April 11, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by I LOVE MY CARGO PANTS I have been wearing Columbia Cargo pants for a couple of years now and still absolutely love them. I used them for everyday use and hiking. April 10, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Fails to live up to your usually high standards I've owned Silver Ridge pants in the past and hoped that you had made some improvements. Sad to say, you haven't. The thing that bugs me the most about this pant is that the belt loops are not distributed in such a way that the belt holds the pant uniformly all the way around. The pant can dip/sag between some of the loops. This makes for a lousy fit and lousy look. The belt, by the way won't stay securely adjusted as to length and the snap doesn't always work consistently/easily. Fix these for me and I'll be first in line to buy a few pair. Thanks! Rated 4 out of 5 by tough and light These pants are light and breathable and also tough! Great for all day wear, from trail to street. March 12, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Summer / Travel Pants I bought a pair to travel with in warm climates and they met every expectation.. They fit great, resist wrinkle and are cool and light but with a sturdy feel to them. I looked at other recommendations and went a size up with a bit of trepidation -- but they fit perfect! March 3, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by AWSOME PANTS The men's silver ridge pants are great.I live in south Texas so light weight and breath ability is very important. I can't say enough good things about them!! GREAT PRODUCT!!! February 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Silver ridge cargo pants Material is ultra light, quick drying and rip resistant. These pants rock. They keep you cool while protecting you with SPF 50 on your legs. They tend to wrinkle if you do not immediately remove them from the drier. Hang dry is best. Warning, these tend to fit a little snug (small). I wear a 34 and the 34 is snug. Next, I purchased a 36 and I like the fit much better. Overall, I'm buying 5 more pair if they go on some type of sale Mahalo Chico January 30, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good light weight pant for light work These pants are great for light work or just casual wear. However, if you intend to do some real tough hiking or work, the material is not strong enough. I often carry a large pocket knife and after only a few times taking in an out of the pocket the pant began to tear. Also, I often do workouts (pushups, burpies....etc....) during my hikes/light jogs and the pant has begun to wear thin on the knees and around the belt loops. But I often beat the heck out of my clothes, so if you are just wearing them for light use.....great pant. December 12, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great light hiking pants Pants work great as a summer or fall-weather hiking pant. They are very thin and work well when you don't want to wear shorts or you just need a little bit more covering. I bought them to keep ticks and grass off my legs during summer hikes. Fit well and get the job done. I have not tried them out in wet weather to see how they perform. They won't give you much warmth on cold days. October 13, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by The Perfect Pant I get more comments on the look and style. However, it is the first pair of pants that I grab for casual wear. They are the best... and last forever... can't wear them out!!! September 24, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fit well Cool pants for working around the property in the summer, I also like the passport pocket useful when travelling. September 14, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by I wanted to like these pants more than "just ok" I bought these to travel light on my trip to Europe this summer and was hoping to cover both sight-seeing in town and day hiking in the mountains. For hiking they were good. They are well made and fit well. But - the pockets are shallow and tight so I wouldn't say they are really a cargo pant. The net is that you can do better for hiking. For sightseeing they just didn't achieve my goal of looking a little dressier than a hiking pant. Also - I wanted black to hide dirt and work better with multiple shirts but they are not offered in that color. Why is this basic color not offered? I didn't want green so got the darkest color available which is Tusk. It was ok relative to dirt but I discovered one glaring issue - when you wash your hands and there is even a drop of a splash - it leaves a large visible dark spot for a few minutes while you try and get it to dry. This was an embarrassing thing given that sink level for me is just about the level of the zipper. Net - the pants are ok but have a lot of drawbacks. I would not buy them again. August 24, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by sizing Product was not even close to actual measured size or size of prior similar purchase. Returned product. August 17, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Dynamite pants for active wear.... I am a Fly Fishing guide. I spend a lot of time in and on the water. These pants are great for wet wading and they are very comfortable when rowing a drift boat or canoe all day. I highly recommend these pants. August 13, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Comfortable coverage. I'm grateful for the reviews of these pants. My waste is a 35" measured so typically purchase 36"x34". Ordering one size up, 38"x34", like some reviews advised was great. The fit was just a bit loose but very comfortable. The lightweight material with a closer fit is not what this 59 year old was after anyway, haha. The cargo pockets don't have flaps, sleek, and won't catch on drawer pulls, airline armrests, etc. It might help to sew the cargo pocket openings maybe 3/8" at the edges so loose objects won't slip out when zippers not closed. Very comfortable in 90 degrees plus. August 11, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Amazing pants These pants are amazing. I would own 10 pair if I could. I wore them in India and the pants were true to their function, the sweat was wicked away from my legs and dried quickly. They are amazingly comfortable too and breath great. I would give them five stars but the velcro patches for the pockets seem a little small, which is fine, but it feels like they won't last a long time. But in all honesty, velcro can only survive so many washes and uses before it just gets worn out. August 3, 2014
