Rated 5 out of 5 by Outstanding in a wind array of situations Just wore these to the Reindeer Run in Minnesota at 5 degrees. I had a base layer plus these and it was perfect. This summer I wore these in lieu of shorts to keep the mosquitos and I was very comfortable. December 22, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect Couldn't be better . December 7, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by This products is durable and functional The Silver Ridge Convertible pants are very comfortable, very functional and looks stylish. The light weight material is perfect for the climate I live in and ideal for the activities I participate in. November 24, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by consistant This is my 2nd pair. Wear them till they fall apart and am sad to retire them. November 20, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great hiking and TRAVEL pants Pants are great for hiking as they are non-restrictive . I take them on all my trips with me. They can be used as every day wear, but are nice enough to wear out to dinner. November 4, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Buy them! I bought these pants because I wanted something different than jeans or chinos. I'm really glad I got these. They fit perfect and look stylish. Got the Tusk color and wore it for three days straight. Enjoyed them so much I got another pair in Gravel. Pockets are easy to get to. My only gripe is the Velcro but it shouldn't fail me any time soon. These are great for when I run around town doing errands or on my way to college. October 25, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by wonderful convertible pants All the pants you will ever need for casual wear..maybe even more formal wear too. Better than any others in my closet. October 22, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by My Favorite Convertables These are my new favorite pair of convertable pants. Great quality and fit. I really like the comfort waist on these. I will order another pair before long. Really like the grill color too. October 9, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great convertible pants I was a big fan of the REI Sahara convertible pants but lately they stopped including the belt and it feels like the quality is dropping. These pants don't have the side zips the Saharas do but I think the overall quality makes up for it. The individual pant legs have L and R on the zipper tags which is a huge help. I've worn them on several day-hikes and also love using them for airplane travel. September 24, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Industry Standard These pants are rugged, good looking and hold up to repeated abuse. September 17, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great buy! I purchased two of them. I tried them on at a store, but could not find the right size in terms of length. Decided to order them online, and certainly they are true to the sizing, they fit will. In hot environments they keep you cool, they look a little dressy which I enjoy, overall I felt it was an excellent choice! Since my purchase the price has dropped! so even better! September 4, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Tighter in the waist than my other one I love these pants and this is my second pair. I am a bit disappointed that this pair feels more snug in the waist than my other pair that are otherwise exactly the same other than size 32 length instead of 30. August 28, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Functional and Comfortable I am actually a tall woman, that bought these so that I could have convertible pants with a long enough inseam. My husband bought the same pants and they also worked great for him. They worked great on our safari! Fit well, functional, and lightweight. August 9, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great design Love them, going back for more. July 15, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Little thin Depending on whether you think thin material is good or bad..these are a little on the thin side. But of course they will dry faster. And they're really light weight. I don't think they would be very sturdy with a lot of abrasion..like sitting on a rock. The waist band could have a little more substance to it..it does tend to roll especially with the little belt (easily removed) that comes with it. Waist is a button not a snap that some competitors have. But that's good I think. I might get another pair in a different color. July 10, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Always a great product Love these pants. Lightweight, soft, comfortable. Enough room in the pockets for necessities; not too much for overloading. I'd love to see a 36" length for us tall guys ! July 2, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Hubby Loves them we actually where in Costa Rica in may and our guide when we went zip lining had them on. order them we came back my husband loves them, the only thing is with the free shipping it took a little longer than I thought June 23, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Men's convertible pants Sizing runs large and had to return. Was not happy to pay $10 to return! May 27, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great investment! Buy these every few years for scout camp, and they're still in good shape to pass down when they've been outgrown. Great basic convertible pant. May 25, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome pants I highly recommend any outdoorsman to have these pants in their wardrobe. I've had lots of the regular silver ridge pNts but the zip off option to change these into shorts is a must May 2, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Craftsmanship/quality fabric These convertible pants are beautifully built. Even the leg zipper functions perfectly converting to slacks or shorts. Fabric is strong and resists snags and pulls. My husband and I have 4 colors but we would love to see them in black next season! April 27, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Zip-off pants, Poor belt I love zip off or convertible pants. I have many pairs from North Face and EMS and REI. Just bought 2 Columbia "Kestral Ridge" from Columbia outlet on Long island. It's the same as the Silver Ridge I think. I ended up paying $27.99 after all the sales. Great price if you can get. Nice features, UPF=50 is very nice. Nice weight. Probably dries in minutes. Probably not too warm in cold temps. Too bad the pant leggings does not have ankle zippers to help get on/off with boots on. Also always good to have zippered side pockets to secure things. It has one. But biggest complaint is the flimsy nylon web belt. The web belt is thin, lightweight, and very flimsy. Don't get me wrong, it IS strong enough for any fat belly, but I'll have to buy a better web belt for these pants that is thicker and beefier. March 7, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Tough, but lightweight I wore these pants while doing invasive plant removal in south Florida's summer. They kept my legs protected from thorns, poisonous plants, and the sun. Extremely lightweight, but they are built very well. I destroyed many other brands of pants doing this work, but these lasted me the whole time I was down there. They fit me very well, but I do have larger quads and calves so they would be a bit loose on a normal sized person March 3, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Lightweight, excellent fit Exactly what I was looking for; lightweight, will dry quickly, and should pack down small. Fits my frame (5'8", 148lb) really well. January 28, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Silver Ridge Convertible Pants They seem like they are going to be good pants, very light. January 21, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Extremely Comfortable These are the most comfortable dress pants I have ever owned. January 14, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by you must allways make these pants I own 4 pairs of your shorts they are great, when I saw these pants they were same design and material as the shorts I had to have them. live in vegas and in winter these pants are perfect cause it never gets super cold. I realize these pants turn into shorts but your real shorts are so good and length is good I will keep buying your shorts also January 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great pants This pants are great and they dry real quick. January 6, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by All in One Great for cool mornings and unzip to shorts later in day when it gets warmer January 5, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Now I Have All The color Very Nice I Live Up In The Every green State,Washington. I Have where Then When It's Been Cold,Wind. The Pants Are Great For All A Round Fun. December 30, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for sun and blood of fishing I wear these when running walleye charters on Lake Erie. The fishing gets fast and furious at times and walleye will bleed all over you and the boat. Spray a little prewash on heavy spots and then launder as usual and it washes right out. As for comfort, I will start at 4am as long pants - switch to shorts later in morning and if still on the lake at noon - back to long pants to protect from sun. These are a little slimmer cut on the legs. If you like a more loose cut, look at the Blood and Guts Convertible Pant. December 27, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by This a great convertible pant I like this pant and this is for have a new color December 21, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Love the Silver Ridge Convertible pants I have a pair of gray ones, for almost 2 years. I wear them year round and often use the zip off feature to get to shorts (warmer weather). When it rains, the material is awesome - not water proof, but it repels a bit and dries so darn fast! So these fossil colored pants I just bought, they seem just a tad thinner (material) and the belt and belt loops seem to be just a bit different than the gray ones. Also the waist of 34" seems larger on the Fossil than with the gray. But otherwise they fit the same and function the same. Like them a lot. December 14, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Almost a year round choice I mostly wear these in the summer, due to the thin material, and the fact you can turn them into shorts. I also wear them when I am expecting to get wet from rain, as they dry out so fast, so they come in handy in both the spring and fall. In the winter, I will wear them around the house because they are so light and unrestrictive. For cold weather however, I switch to something thicker and warmer. I also like the color selection, and have been wearing these for several years now. I just recently replaced my old for new, and was shocked to see no real color loss, even after several years of wearing and many many washes. December 14, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by A little small From what I seen and felt they were a good product. I had to send them back though. Too small. I'm a 36W 30L, but I found them a bit tight. Leg length was spot on though. October 30, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Outstanding Quality Outstanding Quality Very light material Very durable I wear these while commercial fishing on the Chesapeake Bay in the summer time. Well worth the money. October 14, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by First Try was good Had the first hike with these last week for about 13 miles....did very well. My size was the 32/30. I had ordered a 32/32 just in case the 30s were too short, but they were not, so kept the 32/30. They were very comfortable, had plenty of flexibility while walking and climbing, and very lite...would order again. October 1, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice convertible Worth buying on sale. I expected it to be little bit thicker but is thin suitable only for summer weather. It is water resistant and feels light. Packable pant September 30, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by pant lengths I wish there were a greater choice in insane length. Getting slacks shorted is a nuisance. September 11, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by My husband's summer uniform I bought my husband a pair of these this spring, and he quickly asked for another. These two pants, with their shorts option, have gotten him through the entire summer! He's already asking for more colors for next summer. Now I'm searching for their colder weather equivalent! August 31, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfort and Stretch I wore these convertible pants hiking John Muir Trail for five days. They are light and comfortable. The difference between other shorts I've worn of this style is the slight stretch in the waste. With the included belt, I've not worn other shorts that can compare in comfort. The legs easily zip on and off and stowed away compact when temps warmed up. Also moved well when climbing over obstacles on the trail. August 23, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Skinny Pants, no mobility The pants' fitting is so snug it affects mobility. August 16, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wore these every day during Boy Scout Summer Camp I ordered a bunch of these to wear each day during Boy Scout Summer Camp in Northwood, NH in August 2015. The idea was to convert the pants to shorts during the day and then zip them back up at night. Temps were low 90s to low 80s during the day and mid 60s to mid 50s during the night; mostly sunny with some t-storms during the week. The pants worked out great: very light to wear, never felt hot. I used a Boy Scout web belt (and not the belt included with the pants) and had a Leatherman Surge attached to my belt the entire time. I also had a CRKT knife clipped to a pocket; both held up well on the pants. When not in use during the day I stored the zipped-off pant legs in the side pockets so I always had them with me to re-zip when needed (I didn't store much other stuff in these pockets so there was plenty of space to store the pant legs). Still trying to find a pair in color black though... August 13, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Too many " improvements" It seems that whenever I buy the same pants you have changed some of the features I really like. For example the older pair had a zippered rear pocket which is now Velcro and the colors now offered are a lot darker than previous orders. I keep rebuying them because I do like them. Silver Ridge August 9, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great comfortable pant I wore these for a full week on a 70 mile canoe trip. They dried quickly and protected my legs. I did several day hikes and they were very comfortable. August 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for travel We love these pants, they are great for travel, easy to pack and good for pants and shorts. Rain or shine. Lightweight, easy care. A must have August 3, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for the BWCA Pants performed as described. They were a great addition to my gear for my recent trip in the Boundary Waters. Dried quickly and stood up to the rugged environment of the BWCA. July 24, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good fit Love these pants! I hike, bird and garden in them. July 9, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great pants I am 6'2 and 200 pounds. I ordered 36x34 and they fit great. I like everything about these pants- the fabric is great, they seem well made, the pockets are functional and the zip off pant feature works well. I don't know why I wore hot, bulky jeans for so long because these are far superior. These are the hiking pants you want. July 8, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by true to description I purchased these pants for an upcoming European trip so I haven't used them as planned as yet. Will say they are as advertised, nicely made, lightweight and the color is good. I suspect they will perform as desired and having not put them through their paces is the only reason I am giving them good ratings. July 2, 2015
