Bit of a miss on this one I've been a big fan of Columbia's water shorts for 10+ years, but this version is a bit of a miss. Size ran smaller than expected. No back pocket cuts down the functionality. Little-to-no elastic in the waist, and the belt "clip" adds nothing but frustration. Overall, a well made poor design. (I think they must have snuck this one past "Mom.") I will continue to look for and hopefully find Columbia shorts like my older ones, but no more of these. May 15, 2013

Good river shorts I am a river guide in Moab UT and used these shorts all summer. I am a woman and like the longer length, deep pockets, and mesh lining (do wish they had a 7" length). They do start to smell a little after being used all day in the sun and in and out of the water (you urinate in the water), but they scrub up nicely and the smell goes away. They dry amazingly fast, which is necessary on the river. April 15, 2013

Great for Hiking I like these shorts because they have deeper pockets than women's similar shorts. I was disappointed that they no longer have the zippered back pocket or the velcro cargo front pocket. When we go hiking the many pockets in my old shorts were great for carrying gear. I still enjoy wearing them though-very comfortable-just wish they had more of the pockets. October 24, 2012
Awesome Swim Suit Shorts are a great look and fit perfect for days on the beach or at the pool. I am 6'1" and I reccomend the 9" length as they sit above the knees and between the waist and hips. Not to mention having pcokets on a swimsuit is great. October 21, 2012
Great Kayak Fishing Shorts These shorts are great! They are cheap, comfortable, and versatile. I cut the liners out and wear them as general shorts. They dry fast, have a good pocket, are stain resistant and very, very durable. These are the perfect kayak fishing shorts and I can not recall wearing anything else on the river this summer. Good but no back pocket The only thing is they do not have a back pocket. This makes them useless for me. If they would add a Bach Zipper pocket I would buy them all. I live on a Island so the shorts must be good in and out of the water. I use the Snake river style but they are a little long and colors are limited. September 9, 2012

palmserston peak shorts they are much better wearing than earlier pair of similar shorts. Pocket material provides easier access to items in pockets. Ealier pair keys and other items clung to material and made it difficult to take out of pocket.I am very happy with this pair and hopefully they will last as long as ealier pairs of nylon and mesh shorts. This product has some great features. I ordered these shorts because I spend a lot of time on our sailboat. They are fast drying and the netting is comfortable during alot of activity. The only problem I have with them is that there is no pocket in the back to carry a hankerchief! I do recommend them! August 26, 2012

Sizes are horrible I have several pair of these type shorts from Columbia. I have size Large in all of them and they all fit pretty similar. I ordered my first pair of Palmerston Peak shorts in a Large. I could have wrapped them around me twice. I sent back and got a Medium. I couldn't even squeeze into the medium. There was such a huge variance in the sizes that I don't know how anyone could get a good fit. April 26, 2012

Missed the Boat Received these shorts with some other items. The waist was HUGE. I wear a size small. The waist on these was like a medium. The belt could not be taken up enough to fit and even if it did the shorts would have looked like bloomers. I am very disappointed with this item. I have numerous Columbia items that I found excellent in quality and fit. Columbia really missed the boat on this one. April 17, 2012

Palmerston Peak Shorts I've purchased several pairs of these shorts (two years ago) and they are of very good quality. The fabric is light, but resistant to tearing and it dries incredibly fast (within 30 minutes after a good dowsing in sunlight or warm atmosphere). They have several very good pockets with which to put valuables while taking part in activities. I would recommend these shorts for boating, fishing, swimming, and other recreational activities. You could even use these for working out. As a matter of fact, I'm ordering a few more of these shorts. February 12, 2012
The shorts do have great features. However, the waist band had very little elastic. I purchased 3 pair from Sports Authority last year and had to try on at least 10 pair to find three with enough elastic in the band. I have a 36 inch waist, and the 2 pair I purchased on line had very little elastic. I pulled the draw belt as tight as I could but the shorts still were to big. With better quality control on the waist band these could be very good shorts. I will continue to look for these shorts at your retail stores, because they have very good features. February 7, 2012

How to measure
- Neck: Measure at the base or thickest part of your neck.
- Chest/Bust: Measure at the fullest part of the chest, under the armpits and over the shoulder blades, keeping the tape measure firm and level.
- Waist: Measure around natural waistline, allowing tape measure to sit comfortably.
- Sleeves: Start at the center back of your neck and measure across the shoulder to the elbow and down to the the wrist. Round up to the next even number.
- Inseam: Measure from the top of the interior leg to the bottom of the ankle.
