Rated 3 out of 5 by Needs upgrades I bought this after returning the Columbia Dr Downpour jacket, which was not available in 3XL and whose 2XL was too snug. There was a small difference in price, but the practicality was considerably less. The fabric and fit were fine but my chief grouses about the Watertight are that the hood does not stow away and there are only two side pockets. There are no inside ones, no breast pockets, all of which are offered on the Downpour. The front is zippered with minimal Velcro patches - no press studs. All in all, a cheaper, less useful version. Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Rain Jacket Ever!!!! Okay, so I am an Eagle Scout and I have done my fair share of camping and other outdoor activities and I always wanted a real good rain gear meaning jacket and pants so I don't need to wear a poncho or carry an umbrella. I bought a rain jacket from another online retailer and it was Columbia and it was on sale for $29.99 with free shipping. Well the second time I wore the jacket I ended up breaker the zipper so I called Columbia Customer Service and I sent it back to them and in return I got store credit so I bought the newest rain jacket and it was much better made and when it rains I always get hot but the new jacket is very breathable so I don't sweat. I am very please with Columbia and their products, nice to see a company stand behind what they sell. I am now buying two 3-1 winter coats for my son and I. One last thing is that I wear a 3XL and Columbia had that size and it fits perfectly. Faithful Customer!!!! December 13, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect All-Round Rain Jacket I have only owned this jacket for about a week now but, it has already saved me in a sudden rain storm. Just as I was leaving work, the skies opened up and poured every ounce of moisture the clouds had been holding that day. I had received this jacket in the mail only the day prior to replace my previous rain jacket that was a pretty heavy one that utilized Gore-Tex. I love Gore-Tex but, it can get mighty hot and sweaty under a garment using it as the membrane. Again, that previous jacket was made for colder weather. This day was a warmer day and I had luckily tossed my new Columbia Watertight II into my backpack as a precaution. This jacket is perfect for a warmer climate rainy day. It is lightweight but, by no means is it wimpy in the face of weather created adversity. This jacket took everything weather threw at it and more. I had to walk a good distance that day, while carrying a heavy backpack full of work-related stuff. I really like that this Watertight II has a mesh lining; I've found that most jackets that have the raw membrane material inside tend to become annoying and sweaty as time goes on. The more activity you do in jackets like that make life miserable sometimes. With a mesh lining, the end user has a better experience with the jacket because it will not stick to the skin and it does reduce sweat significantly. True to Columbia's word, it is 100% waterproof in my limited usage. I completely believe that this jacket will not have any issues in the future. I totally rely on Columbia products and have never had a reason to mistrust them. They have never steered me in the wrong direction. November 6, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Quality Love this rain jacket. Keeps me completely dry during the heavy rain storms here in New England. Jacket fits great October 19, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Keeps you dry Keeps you dry and packs up nice and small. I wish there were some more pockets - at least one inside pocket. October 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Lightweight but tough Great lightweight rain jacket. Awesome color options. Very comfortable. Packs down small. Very happy FYI order a size larger. October 4, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Let it rain! This rain coat is great in the summer and spring for those heavy rain pours. Its very lightweight and has very good breathability. And u can store it anywhere because u can fold the whole coat into a pocket witch is a nice feature. July 27, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not waterproof My son and I both purchased this jacket for a two week trip overseas and wanted to make sure we had a good rain jacket. This jacket leaked at the seams during a mild rain and the hood also leaked and is too large. Pulling the hood strings didn't help stop it from covering my eyes. July 4, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Happy Customer I am very happy with the light weight rain ware. I use it for when I am on the water fishing, it's light weight and comfortable. Great for wearing on cool days also. The rain wear was a gift from my wife and I'm happy she made the choice. I guess you could say I'm a happy customer. June 10, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect Small, light, packable and red :) I bought this for a trip to Kauai, the rainiest spot in the world. Being from the mountains I had a bunch of heavy waterproof stuff but I needed something for tropical rain and this product was perfect. I am now using it for my summer mountain rain on my Grand Teton photography tours as well. May 26, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by nice jacket! Husband has not yet worn this jacket, but he likes the weight of it...Very light. We agree that the size is a little small, and ordered accordingly. Our advice is to order one size bigger. We did and he is happy with the fit. April 28, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by review of men's watertite II jacket Really like jacket...reviews I read before I ordered said jacket runs small...good advice.. I ordered size bigger...all other features proved to be accurate... April 20, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by water tight/comfy It is comfortable and 100% waterproof. Just what I was looking for. Runs a little large, but makes it possible to wear a sweatshirt under it. Definite bonus for living in New England. March 18, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by love this jacket The description does let you know it runs a little small. We order one size up and it fits perfectly. It's warm without being big and bulky. March 17, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great buy! I purchased this jacket as a gift for my husband. He really loves it! He's naturally a warm natured, big guy so he hates wearing heavy coats or jackets. This jacket was perfect for him! He can wear it as is or he can even layer up under the jacket without "overheating ". He's wears it in the rain and/or windy days. It's true to size & fits nicely. I would recommend this jacket to anyone. December 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great jacket This jacket works well for what I need it for. I like that it packs thin and light weight. I travel five times a month so it works out well when the weather changes where your at and you have a multi purpose all weather jacket. Water proof design and long body keeps your back and waist dry. The hood when you don't need it lays back and can feel funny back there, but no big deal. It is a great coat, fits well, layers can be added under the jacket, water tight, light weight easy to carry when the weather changes. I am happy with the purchase. November 28, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Columbia Men's Watertight II Rain Jacket Good Quality, delivery was one day early and that day it rained. Was very comfortable and Watertight even in windy rainy conditions. Lightweight easy to pack and carry. Would highly reccomend this jacket to stay dry! November 27, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Rain coat worked great The rain coat worked great stayed dry all day in the rain October 17, 2015

Rated 4 out of 5 by Caracteristics Light and comfortable September 22, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Lower quality than previous years Living in the Pacific NW, I wear this jacket 9 months out of the year and am fairly hard on the jacket, so I buy a new Columbia Watertight jacket every year. The new version is definitely a step down in quality. With this year's version, Columbia replaced the snaps with thin velcro. They also replaced the zipper with the small teeth type zipper instead of the heavier duty large tooth zipper. The biggest reason I would not recommend this jacket is that while the hips and chest fit similar to previous versions, the arms are incredibly narrow and have virtually no room for movement. I would say that I have normal size arms and this fits almost skin tight with a short sleeve shirt on underneath. It's so bad, that I will have to send it back. I'm very disappointed as I will need to find a new "go to" jacket. September 14, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great fabric, perfect fit This is a fantastic purchase. I am very happy about the choice. The jacket fit perfect, the breathable fabric, but watertight and very light. Unfortunately at the time of purchase I did not find the 1st choice color. July 16, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Keeps you dry, not too warm Here in Ottawa it's not rare for the temperature to be 30+ degrees, so I wanted a jacket that would keep me dry during rainstorms, but that wouldn't be too thick and heavy. I've only had to wear it twice since I got it, but both times it kept me 100% dry and didn't cause me to sweat from the heat. Acts as a nice windbreaker too. Love the style and the color choices. I picked green and love it. I wear 2XL and 3XL depending on the brand. 2XL was a bit tight, so 3XL was better for me. July 10, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by if your a big man this one is a great buy I have been using this for summer camp work i do outside, alongside with some outdoor education. It is not to heavy, I had been using my winter shell so in comparison it is not as hot. It fits just right to my size and i love the color. July 3, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by My husband loved it! My husband and I are taking a trip to Europe later in the summer. We needed waterproof jackets for the trip. Since Father's Day was so close, I decided to surprise him and purchase a jacket for him online. I chose the Men's Watertight II jacket in Rocket (red). He opened his presents last night and really loved the new jacket. I had him try it on since some reviewers thought it ran a little small. He said it was a perfect fit and it looked great on him! I ordered his usual size - a 2X and got it in Big. I think it is an excellent buy for the money. June 21, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by BOUGHT IT JUST IN TIME FOR A SPRING STORM! It came just before a large downpour and immediately lived up to it's waterproof reputation. Just a tad snug when fully zipped and going in & out of car. I am a LARGE woman: 5'6" 305# so I knew in advance it would be snug (5X would have been nice). As other reviews state, the lining does slide out of the wrist cuff a bit when you put jacket on, but not a big deal. Overall a great jacket for the price, would buy again for sure! May 24, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Dry as a bone... My 15 y/o Columbia Rain gear retired. This new jacket kept me dry fishing in the snow on the Columbia River this morning. Looking forward to 15 more years! January 11, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice Jacket Used this in Alaska to handle salt spray and light summer rain. Performed great. August 25, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Lets me leave the umbrella at home... Wore in a spring downpour right after getting it. Kept me dry. Forearms are a little snug (like every Columbia shirt I have) but they aren't restrictive. It might make layering with heavy fleece a challenge in the cold, but for milder weather this jacket is the ticket. Columbia makes dozens of other products for cold weather anyway. Basic, supremely functional, and way more convenient than an umbrella. When fully zipped, the hood doesn't fall over my face like other jackets I've had - but still has enough overhang to keep the water out of my eyes. Very well thought out jacket for us guys who appreciate simple and functional. May 1, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best jacket First bought this jacket for my son and the first rain/wind that came he said it worked perfect and that it was the best jacket he's ever had. So bought the 2nd one for my nephew and he also loves it. Not for extremely cold weather but the best you can have for wind/rain and chill.. Got my son an XL and it fit pretty much perfectly. Got nephew 3X and it's also a good fit. Size may be ever so slightly small but pretty much on target. March 20, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Well designed, light rain gear. Pro: The jacket is well designed and functions well. Watertight in rain and snow. The hood is not adjustable, but functions well with a cap. Full mesh lining keeps shell away from clothes and skin. It also adds a bit of warmth. Con: The jacket fits a full size smaller than marked. The sleeve lining protrudes from the cuff when jacket is put on and has to be tucked back in. Every time. Conclusion: Order this jacket a size larger than normal and you will have a good looking, high quality jacket that you will wear often. February 16, 2014
