Rated 5 out of 5 by Men's Watertight™ II Jacket I purchased this raincoat for my son a few months ago. He absolutely loves it. Very nice quality jacket. True to the size and color. August 17, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Sturdy and Well Built for the Price I purchased a a jacket in the Rocket color. I have used it as a shell layer for wind and rain cover on many hikes and tours. PROS: - Waterproof Material: When it pours, water does not slowly seep through the material. It is truly waterproof. - Light Weight: Easy to pack, can tuck it all into its own pocket or hood, light build. - Sturdy: I have purchased raincoats in the past that have had their linings dry out and break up after a year. This jacket does not do that. Very sturdy build. - Good Hood: The hood design with the small brim is very effective. In very hard rain you have to keep your head down to keep everything out, but in general it is great. CONS: - Zipper Flap: This jacket features a Velcro zipper flap and normal zipper, as opposed to a waterproof zipper. I only had it leak in very serious rain storms, when I wasn't being careful enough about keeping it sealed. I have never had a problem with it in light or normal rain though. - Can Be Hot: As a function of being a water tight jacket, it does not breath well. I would say it does as well as it can at being light weight and not too hot on a rainy summers day, but I tend to find myself sweating when I have my heart rate up and I am wearing it. COMMENTS: As a head up I am very careful washing my jackets, and that may be why mine has lasted a long time. For the price and the color selection, this Jacket is great. August 12, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by It works I got this jacket when I moved to Portland just to throw in the bottom of my everyday pack for those PNW rain showers. It works great. Keeps me dry. Doesn't stick to your back, fairly breathable. I wish it packed down a little tighter, but it stuffs into its own pocket just fine. It's a little warm for the summer months. But great for chilly spring rain. Draw strings on the waist and hood + zipper pockets make this jacket great when bicycling. July 22, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good Product I am working as a mauntain guide in New Mexico, and during an exceptionally bad hail storm I was made aware of the fact that my previous rain gear (which was not Columbia) was not actually water proof, so I saw this and bought it. I have been using it frequently over the past week and it has been effective and comfortable in everything from light rain to hail storms. I am very happy with this product. July 10, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Rain Gear Essential Excellent weight for rain protection. Quality product for the price. Highly recommend June 25, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by True to size. Great jacket, I like the fit and I love the comfort. Keeps me dry without the stifling heat. Only thing I would change would be the velcro. When walking or moving arms, velcro near wrists can snag on velcro near main zipper. Minorly bothersome. June 13, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Absolutely a great product I work outside and jacket is exactly what I was looking for, not only does it fit great but repels water even on a heavy down pour. I would definitely recommend this jacket. June 5, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Verry well That Jacket it s verry confortable June 4, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by MEN'S WATERTIGHT™ II JACKET I love them and they look. I feel Very Sporty and comfortable. Wearing it to Europe next week. Let you know more when I test it in the rain. June 3, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by rain jacket I am very happy with the quality and function so far. I have yet to use the jacket in a heavy or constant rain. I am curious how a medium size jacket would have fit, I my be 'between sizes'. May 29, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Size If you are a xl order a xxl in the jacket. I went and try one on first before I ordered it. But the jacket is amazing!! I used it last for golf it was raining and the temp was 49. All I had on was a t shirt underneath and was warm and dry!! This jacket is better than the North Face one my wife has! May 27, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good Rain Jacket could be Great Jacket Overall I like this rain jacket. It has a good and functional design. There are two things I would like this jacket be altered a bit. First, the drawstring to adjust the waist hem should have two, one on each side. Your design of only one drawstring allows for and creates a bulge when you pull it in to fit your waist/hips correctly. Second, the front hood bill should be a little more prounced and sturdier to allow it to function more like a ball cap bill. Remington brand has such a design. Again, overall I like this rain jacket. Rated 5 out of 5 by Reasonable warranty replacement I returned an older PVC rain jacket which could not be repaired, and I was issued a credit toward this jacket. I'm very happy with it's performance (we've had a LOT of rain!), but I wish it had button snap instead of velcro. May 15, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Light Jacket I really like the look of the bright color of this jacket. It has great feel and blocks wind and rain well. highly recommended1 April 17, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Rain...what's that?? Worked 3 out of 5 days in the rain at the NY Botanical Garden. Torrential downpours while transplanting trees. I never got wet. You might feel it's a bit thin for the temp, just layer up underneath which might make it snug. But the layering was not totally necessary. A big difference. Amazing!! April 17, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Product Very lightweight. Fits over work clothes, and keeps my husband totally dry while working outside. April 8, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very nice jacket! Beautiful jacket, Love the color, very lightweight and I like the length of the sleeves. I would recommend this jacket. Just wish the main front zipper was a little more heavy duty like my other Columbia rain jacket. April 6, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love it Lightweight and surprisingly warm. Medium is a great fit for me - I'm 6' 1" and 155 lbs. April 1, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by SierrasHiker It was a pleasant coincidence that my Watertight II jacket arrived a couple of weeks ago on a day it was raining. I tried it on right away and liked the fit. Then, I "road tested" it, going for a 2-mile walk in a light rain with about a 20 MPH wind. The jacket was indeed watertight and felt quite comfortable. It is a nice lightweight jacket, I plan to take along for day hikes in the Sierras, as well use as a windbreaker for cooler evenings when handling BBQ duties. Great jacket! March 31, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Light weight rain wear This light weight jacket kept me dry in heavy rain. I am very happy with it. March 25, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Actually rain proof This is 3rd rain jacket I've tried. The other 2 from 2 different vendors didn't actually keep the rain out. This one does... Thank you, Columbia. March 24, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by My husband Love's it. It's light weight for the nice days and roomy enough to add a light sweather when needed. Love the hood March 16, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not Warm at all I bought this because of the reviews. After receiving the jacket, I do not know why all the reviews say it is warm. IT is NOT warm at all, and feels very cheap, and VERY Thin. I did not expect it to be a heavy jacket, but it is thinner than a windbreaker, and the pictures on the site do not represent this product at all. It looks like there is padding around the neck, and there is not, not even close. Thinking of returning. February 15, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Water tight II / yes The jacket cut and style great!!! Good as windbreak and great in the rain! Thank you Columbia! February 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Get One! This was what I was wanting, I use this with a hoodie in the early winter and early spring. I stay warm and dry. Layers are important to me. February 2, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by excellent in Snow Storm I never do reviews but I have to. Recieved jacket on day of NYC record snow fall. So I thought perfect time to test watertight 2. I not good at words but this jacket is outstanding. It kepted me warm and dry as I shoveled 20 inches of snow out of my driveway. Now of course my wife wants one too and I'm more than happy to get for her. You won't be disappointed in purchase. January 23, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Rain Jacket! I got this for my boyfriend. We live in Oregon so he needed something like this. This does the trick! Waterproof and breathable! He loves it. January 22, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by First try was great I just received this jacket for Christmas so I haven't put it through the rigor of the demands that I usually put products through but it was pouring rain outside today so I put it on and went out to test it. Water beaded up and ran off just like it should. Was bone dry everywhere that the jacket was covering so it's working great so far. There are only two things that I can say. 1. The velcro that secures the cuff on the sleeve is very skinny and I believe that I might would want it a little wider. Haven't really had it long enough to decide though. 2. I have pretty long arms for my body size so if you are like me, you may want to get a tall size for less restricted arm movement. January 15, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Just what I was looking for I commute every day on the train and I need a light weight waterproof jacket that offers protection from the wind and rain. I wanted something that was waterproof and broke the wind, and light enough to put in my backpack when I don't need it. This jacket allows me all of these things and it is a great jacket. Great quality and great value for the money. January 3, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great option for year round bicycling I got this jacket to wear while biking in wet weather but it actually turned into my year round cycling jacket. It fits well, cuts the wind, and is pretty waterproof. The only complaint I have is the lack of an internal pocket (that's a personal preference I can never have too many pockets). I'll probably get another one in a different color. December 29, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by perfect rain jacket my husband loves it. fight light and comfy. December 23, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by FANTASTIC JACKET Fits true to size, excellent protection against rain...my husband has never owned a rain coat (he's 57)..he is ECSTATIC about this one. December 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Just perfect Exactly what I was looking for - light weight and waterproof Excellent December 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great features Very breathable and lightweight! December 5, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Outdoor Jacket I bought this jacket for my husband. The jacket does its job, especially up here in WA state. December 1, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not worth of Price It is too delicate, Price is too high for the quality. DS December 1, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointed For the first time ever, I'm disappointed with a Columbia Sportswear product. The shell repels only the first onslaught of water. After that, moisture soaks through to the lining. (I've never "washed" or otherwise mistreated the jacket, so it can't be something I've done to it.) Then, the jacket turns into a greenhouse and clings to whatever's underneath: clothing, skin, etc. The lining is so large and loose in the sleeves that it exits the shell at the wrists every time I put the jacket on, an annoying inconvenience. I have to reach down each sleeve from the shoulder to pull the lining back in every time I put it on. The hood is the best part. It's roomy and works the way I like, but I detest the Velcro closures in front. They're forever catching when I want them to be open; I anticipate one day they will fray and not close at all. The plastic zipper beneath the Velcro closures, while lightweight, seems cheap. I fully expect it to eventually snag or othewise jam and wear out. I regret this purchase. November 22, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by It works I am 5'10" @ 180lbs and the large fits me well. I can agree with some of the comments mentioned in other posts. I got to try the jacket in Geneva Switzerland during a 2hr walk in constant rain. The waterproof aspects of the jacket worked extremely well. I can agree that the water just pearled off me as on a tree leaf. The finish of the the seams is done very well. The hood worn in conjunction with a baseball cap seals around the head extremely well and keeps all water out. I would also agree with the zippers and linings. Yes, I noticed the sleeve lining to come out of the sleeve and had to readjust. Worse was the main and pocket zippers. They jammed because the lining catches easily in the zipper mechanism. Sealed zippers would make this a super jacket. Finally, it took me some time to find the hidden pocket into which to stuff the jacket as a small pouch, the "packable" function. It is actually the left pocket. Once packed the the netting of the pocket becomes the outer bag. That is not really functional because once reversed this netting catches on everything. Why not make the "packable" pocket in a solid material? November 21, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by GREAT rain jacket I got this for a trip to Iceland. I had to wear it today and it was POURING - it worked GREAT! not a leak or single problem. I got this to layer so I bought it larger than needed so I put that it's true to size. November 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Rain Coat Very nice light weight coat November 14, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Love this jacket I bought this Jacket when I moved to England. IT was the best purchase I ever made for outerwear. The jacket is fully waterproof and it is warm. I wore mine up to mid November and with a fleece you could wear it in the colder weather. I completely recommend this Jacket. November 12, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by flimsy and about a size and a half to small!!! I bought this same style jacket about three years ago and am still wearing it! (still in great shape ). recently I returned a new one that, I'm sorry to say was not anywhere as good as my old one ( way to small and velcro instead of snaps ) as far as I'm concerned very poor quality!. I will be taking a closer look of other brands that carry this type of jacket. November 6, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome jacket Great fit, perfect for the time of year where we're having a little rain in VA early November, and even keeps you warm! November 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Water rolls right off People have stopped my son and asked where did he get his rain jacket from. No joke they are shocked at how the water beads up and rolls off the jacket He loves this jacket. I might order a female one for me. October 28, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Water resistant, NOT waterproof The Watertight II title would lead you to think that this jacket is waterproof. If you are looking for a good priced, lightweight, water resistant jacket for running errands, this is the jacket for you. But, if you work outside for a living like I do, and need a jacket to keep you dry no matter the down pour, look elsewhere. This jacket resists water for a little while but over time it starts to hold water and leak in through both pockets as well as the bottom seam. October 24, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Surviving in the UK's rainy winter I purchased this for my husband as we were temporarily moving to England. It worked great during wet and cold days in the UK and he was satisfied with the quality. It blocks rain and wind and it keeps you warm and dry inside. I got small size as his usual and it is true to size. The description says it's slightly small but it was not the case for him. When temperature drops, you can comfortably wear fleece jacket inside and layer this shell over. It's also very light and packable and makes a great piece for travelling. October 21, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Runs small for layering I ordered this rain jacket for a future Alaskan cruise in X-Lg. I have purchased solar shirts from Columbia in X-Lg that have fit fine. I am 5'9" tall, 38" waist and 44" chest. This X-Lg jacket fit snug and was small in the arm holes which made it too tight to wear a sweat shirt under it. I exchanged it for a XX-Lg which works perfect for layering. The quality and price are great. It cuts the wind well. I haven't had the chance to wear it in the rain yet to test it for waterproofness. October 19, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Rain jacket I bought this jacket as a wind-breaker/rain jacket for riding my bicycle. I like the overall fit and quality, and it is doing a good job of keeping out the wind, especially when I use a base layer. I have one small nit to pick: when you put the jacket on, the liner in the sleeve gets "pushed" out of the sleeve, forcing you to reach under your armpit with the free hand to pull it back out. Time will tell if it has the same wear quality as my NorthFace jacket, so far so good. October 18, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Rain Coat I just got this coat a few weeks ago, after getting a fleece and a winter coat. I realized I needed a rain coat that wouldn't make me sweltering (I live in FL), and this coat was the answer. I love it and it is perfect for these hot days in Florida where it rains every afternoon - I can keep the coat in my truck or backpack and pull it out when the rain starts. Highly recommend.
