Number of pockets to keep things in well in place. More than worth for money. #Columbia #TestedTough

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality all weather coat Very nice coat that is perfect for all types of weather. The outer layer when worn by itself fits a little large but that is to be expected as it is designed to be worn with the inner layer as well. I live in the southeast where between November and March you never know if it will be cold and windy, cold and wet, or warm and rainy. This coat has you covered for all of the above.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Jacket does great things! I love the multi-use aspect of this jacket -- or should I say "these jackets." The zipper is a little small for the bulky coat and must be held together for several inches to operate. Nice and warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice jacket; can't wait until next winter. I bought this jacket as an end of winter clearance item in March. As such, I haven't experienced a cold snap to test the jacket's warmth potential. I can say that it's incredibly warm in the temperate springtime temperatures in Cincinnati, Ohio. The jacket's 2 pieces are of good quality and are much less bulky than my older Columbia 3-in-1 from the late 2000's. I really like the fabric used for the outer shell of my new black melange (sp?) jacket. Muted, yet modern. My older Columbia was a size medium, but I needed a size large in this jacket to achieve the same fit. The hip area was a couple of inches narrower in the new, size medium jacket, which hindered my comfort when sitting and crouching. I switched to a size large and all is well. My wish list for future Columbia jackets includes a zippered inner pocket for the outer shell, like my old Columbia jacket. I'd also be thrilled if the inner shell had a bit of elastic around the wrists, again, like my old Columbia. Over-all, I love the new jacket and can't wait to fully test it out next winter.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Interchange jacket I love this jacket except for the Velcro on the sleeve which ripped off within the first week. I shall return it when I return to Portland.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Multi-purpose coat I love this coat. It is fully waterproof, lightweight and doubles as a raincoat. This is one of the best coats that I've ever owned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best jacket ever Recently bought this jacket and took it up to colorful Colorado. The temperature would fluctuate from high 20's in the early morning to mid 50's in the afternoon, and would dip back down to the 20's once the sun would tuck away behind he mountains for the night. This jacket was he only one I needed, and i felt dumb for packing the other 3 jackets I packed. The jacket fit true to size and I loved the waterproof outer coat in the snow. I had never spent so much on a jacket (and that's because I got it on sale) but it was worth every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warranty Replacement I've owned a Columbia winter coat for 25 years. Recently, the zipper began to pull apart. Relying on the lifetime warranty, I sent it in for repair or replacement under the warranty, figuring Columbia would find some reason the warranty did not apply or merely replace the zipper. Instead I was able to pick out this wonderful replacement coat with the warranty credit! A wonderfully warm and useful coat with a zip out liner that can be used as a fall or spring jacket. Well made and very useful with lots of pockets! I strongly recommend this coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for cold weather and skiing This jacket kept me warm while skiing in 10 degree weather with just one UA base layer long sleeve on underneath. I started with a long sleeve and sweatshirt under this jacket but was sweating in under 20 degree weather because of how warm this jacket can be. You will only need one shirt on under this jacket to stay warm. Great quality, my expectations were exceeded.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great coat I took this coat to Italy in the off season so I expected it to be cold and rainy the whole time. This coat kept me warm and dry the whole time. When it get too warm I loved the option of being able to take out the separate down jacket. On another note I ski a lot and this coat has been great for that as well. Highly recommend this coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Ski Coat My son and I have both been wearing this coat (I'm wearing the women's version) for skiing this year, and it's been great. We've stayed dry and warm all season, through every kind of weather. The fit is nice -- roomy enough to allow you to wear base layers and not feel constricted. Once ski season is over, we'll slip out the inside coat and wear it alone. Nice coat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome product!! This jacket is the best jacket I've ever owned! I love how it keeps you warm and how it's very stylish. Plus, it's affordable! Doesn't get better than that. (Actually, it does) Once you purchase it you'll know what I mean. I never thought I'd ever write a review for a product, but this jacket changed my mind. Simply amazing !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You really get 3 coats for the price of 1 I bought this coat for my son-in-law on the Columbia website after we were not successful in finding him one at the local Columbia outlet store. He really liked the 3-in-1 feature, but we couldn't find one in his size, XXL, in a color that he liked - green. This coat looked brown to me online, Peatmoss Buffalo Camo, but when I opened the box, I was very pleased to see that it was more green, and very similar to the one he liked in the store. He has already worn the inner-jacket by itself. What I liked most about it is that it wasn't bulky. I think he will get many years of use from this coat/these coats.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Whirlibird Parka Winter coat is wonderful. Color is great and the black just adds to the warmth. Absorbs the sunlight. I did have to get used to the liner and the area that rests on my shoulders. Seem I was feeling a cool sensation when I first wore it. Gone now though. Temperatures here so far range from 0 to 25F. Haven't had to wear an extra fleece liner. The price was reasonable too. Don't know if I would have paid $200.00 though

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic jacket This jacket is fantastic for cold to extremely cold conditions as well as snow, sleet, wind, and rain. I wear it for everyday use when going to class and also for skiing; it works great for both. Very warm but doesn't make you hot when it isn't as cold. Love the two piece design. My only wish is that it was easier to adjust the hood straps, but this really isn't anything big. Overall a great jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Third Winter and still love it! Thanks Columbia for another quality product! This is my third year wearing this jacket in the cold Wisconsin winters! I work outdoors and wear this everyday and it has held up great! Warm, snow and windproof, and looks great! Alot of pocket space and zippers that never fail. The best exterior fabric of any jacket Ive ever owned. Light weight and comes out looking like new when washed. Keep making this great jacket, because this one will probably last 10 years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket I got this jacket to replace an old Columbia interchange jacket I have used for many years that was showing a lot of wear. This jacket is lighter than my previous one, but it is much warmer. I like that this jacket is longer in the back as well. Looks great, feels great, I'm warm in our sub-freezing temperatures this winter. I love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A "multi-tool" jacket I bought my first Columbia Interchange jacket back in college. I just replaced it this snow season, almost 20 years later. These things are durable, warm, and will keep you dry. I have noticed a lot of major as well as incremental improvements: The new omni-heat really does work. This jacket is warmer than my previous one. The insulated liner looks great on its own, and they have significantly improved the ease with which you can separate/attach the two components. Zippers seal better and move freely. Venting works great. If you don't know what mother nature is going to throw at you, at least you will be ready with this jacket. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WHIRLIBIRD™ INTERCHANGE JACKET Just love this jacket...fits well/true to size. Lightweight, great quality and very warm...not "hot". I would recommend to all...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great warmth for the weight Very lightweight and packs much smaller than its predecessor. I got a medium and it fits pretty close to the body (I'm 5'9" and 160 lbs, right on the border between S and M; S would have been tight). Sleeves are slightly long for me, but that is a minor issue. Tested it at 25 F with a wind and it was quite comfortable. Have not tested water repellency yet.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not that warm I have to say I've been disappointed in this coat so far, in that it's nowhere near as warm as the description and the reviews claim. The patented "Omni-Heat" material inside the inner layer is *supposed* to reflect all your body heat and keep you warm, but that's what any good thick coat does, and this doesn't actually do it. I walk outside and immediately start feeling cold seep right through, which didn't happen with my old bulky down coat. Sorry to say it, but the Omni-Heat material feels a little like a shiny silver gimmick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best coat ever! Deliciously warm and cozy--even without the outer sheath, but when it's really cold (20 degrees or below), you will need both layers. I'm a 5'8" woman and found this coat in the Mens department (thanks to a great sales woman!) The "thermal reflective" technology is no joke. I started sweating within minutes after trying it on in the store. The hood is detachable and there are lots of inner and outer pockets. A LOT of thought went in to the overall design of this coat. My husband bought this coat as a birthday present for me. He paid around $200 for it. Frankly, it's so much warmer and practical than the mink coat he bought me on Valentine's Day several years ago. (But I would never tell him that!) The only criticism is the zipper on the inner liner. Hiccups when it runs up and down and seems a bit "cheap"--perhaps a zipper made in China? Other than that, a fantastic coat! Thanks, Columbia, for a great coat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Recent purchase for replacement of a Columbia winter jacket -Very warm winter jacket; -love the fact that the liner and shell can be worn separately; -waterproofing is a plus; -like the detachable hood; -stylish winter jacket for work or play; -needs more breast pockets, both inside and out

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! Great investment if you live in Minnesota and have to endure the bitter winter temps. Bought one for my fiancé last year and now I just bought one for my son. They love it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this jacket I have this jacket and I absolutely love it. This jacket fully protect and block cold. The only one thing I absolutely don't like about this jacket is its Hood/cap. It's rough and uncomfortable (only there incase needed in rain) doesn't keep head warm. You need to wear a beanie in order to use jacket hood comfortably.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Large sleeves The inner shell is superb, very warm and great fit. However, the outer shell is oversized as the sleeves are huge and billow significantly. The jacket is very warm but the fit needs improvement.
Date published: 2016-12-02
Rated 5 out of 5 by from warm and functional I have mostly been using the inner layer as it has not been very cold here. The inner layer is warm and the outer layer together provides good protection from the elements. Fits well.
