Men’s Bugaboot™ Plus Electric 4 5 4 4
Great boot, needs breaking in I just moved to Colorado. I've probably put 5 miles on these boots thus far. I don't even put them on til it gets below 25F. Paired with a polypro liner sock and a wigwam heavy sock I don't even need the electric unless I'm stationary for extended periods. This was at -2F. The electric is best used on low. The high doesn't provide an immediate relief so I usually opt for battery life and use low. Best when anticipating BEFORE your toes get numb. Not a toasting feel, just warm. Also the tread is great. The only issue I've had is that they dig into my feet/shins at points and I can't wear them for days on end without some pain. Hoping some more miles will break this. January 18, 2013
Ehhhh a good idea..not a very good product. I purchased these because I stand for long periods in freezing weather. I live in Buffalo NY. I'm used to cold-feet. I'm aware of how to make cold-feet not-so-cold. For example shoveling snow for 30 minutes = warm feet. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out if you keep moving, and the blood circulating, with the correct layering of socks you should have no problems. The impression I had with these boots was that I could charge them, push a button, and have toasty (or at least avoid toe-numbing cold) feet. Maybe my pair is defective, but I'm not impressed..particularly for this kind of money. The heat for the lowest charge (green) is supposed to last roughly 3.5 hours. I cannot tell when it stops or starts. Pretty much useless unless you are wearing these and it's 70 below or you are on the dark side of the moon. The heat is indistinguishable from the heat your body gives off. I haven't tried the yellow setting. I tried the red (hottest) setting and really..you are better off with a pair of cheap boots and two pairs of correctly layered socks of high quality. Same thing.I gave two stars overall. They fit good. Would be a good boot for around $75-85 January 3, 2013
Below Zero Temp's in Northern Minnesota I live in Minnesota all my 50+ years. Hunting, ice fishing, snowshoeing, football games and generally outdoors in sub zero temperatures for hours. Owning numerous boots, I was sooo tired of having cold feet regardless of the thickness or material of the boots, socks, etc. I researched and purchased the Bugaboot with extra batteries and am I ever glad I did! These will be the last boots I buy. I turn them on red/high for 10 minutes and my feet are toasty warm, turn them down to yellow/med for 5 minutes and finally set to green/low for 3 to 4 hours. Switch out the batteries, replace with the back up full charged batteries and do my thing. The most unbelievable fact about how well the boots work is that I ONLY wore ONE pair of street socks to check them out! You don't feel the batteries at all. I love that when I slip out of them, the tongue opens up nicely, I plug the batteries right inside the boots, they fully charge for the night and auto shut off after completely charged. My cell phone died while ice fishing. Each battery has two mini plug ins, so I plugged in my cell phone and made calls out on the ice. WOW!All you female's..... buy these, period. I wear a 10.5 shoe, ordered 10.5 boot as they said it runs slightly larger and they fit perfect. Thank you Columbia for your product development. You always get what you pay for. Forget the price as these boots are wonderful. The ultimate level of excellance is consistency. Columbia...you out did your self this time!!A completely satisfied customer.GP Minnesota December 4, 2012
