I LOVE this shoe ! I have worn it now for 3 ultras - 1 on gnarly wet rocky trail, 1 through grassy fields, and 1 on a combo of steep rocky jeep roads and packed dirt cow trails. In all conditions, the soles gripped well and the shoes were snug enough but flexible enough to give me all the mobility I needed without causing any blisters. They felt great through all 3 races, even after 19 hours on my feet ! They'r emy new favorite shoe !

I've been testing out the Columbia Ravenous for the past couple weeks. I think they are a really great trail shoe for the beginner / intermediate trail runner. For someone not so used to rocks and roots, these shoes offer amazing cushion and support. If I were to compare them to what's already out in the market, I would say they feel like a cross between the Nike Pegasus and the Brooks Cascadia. They have the roomy toe-box of the Pegasus and the cushion of the Cascadia! I like the tread--not too aggressive for the trails most beginners would be running on and you can run on cement too. The Ravenous wouldn't be my personal shoe of choice for training / racing because I prefer the minimalist approach to trail running, but honestly this is a great shoe for someone looking to get into the sport of trail running. Great job, Columbia, on your first trail runner!

It's late in the day and I just received my pair of the Ravenous in the mail. So while I can't say I've taken them out for a spin yet, I can say that my initial impression of the fit is great. I'm very picky when it comes to the fit of my running shoes and this might be the most comfortable "upper part" of a shoe I have ever worn. I'm not completely sure about the sole, the arch seems a bit flat, but until I break them out on the trail I will reserve judgment. Initial impression is positive and I can't wait to eat up the trail (pun intended).

Have been using for two weeks and about 40 miles hiking on all types of terrain. So far, it has been flawless. The laces should be of the round type or thicker and the insole a little bit softer Overall I am very satisfied.

These are the most comfortable shoes ever! Love the colors, the look, mostly the fit and feel of them. I have already recommended them to friends.
