Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Field Pant I primarily use these pants in a mixed conifer forest and a scrubland environment. In a typical day at work I cover 5-10 miles over rugged terrain and through brush. These pants are very sturdy. I have yet to rip a pair. The crotch is well cut to allow clamoring over logs without constricting movement. In fact, they haven't yet worn through at the crotch, like most pants that are heavily used tend to. The water repellancy is good for quick spashes, but extended moisture will wick through to the skin. On the plus side, the material dries quickly and repells stains. The lightweight material also sheds burrs well, but if walking through thorned plants, you will feel them. October 30, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by The "Ultimate" Outdoor Utility Pants I got my first pair of these pants in 2006 in the Arabian Gulf - they still look great and going strong. It is the material and it no kidding "ROC's." The neutral colors allow you to the option to wear these pants with just about evey imaginable color shirt. I mention outdoors utility but they look good enough to wear on "casual Friday." They are not you typical cargo pants. I am a 34" inseam and have them tailored - perfect fit. November 15, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice casual pants I like these pants as a khakis type of casual wear. I like the hidden pocket in the thigh where my phone fits nicely. As far as fit, I found them to be a bit shorter rise than I expected and they grab me in the butt slightly. November 14, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Oversized Comfortable fabric but very baggy in the back and legs are cut way to large. October 20, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by love these - mucch better build consisteny Sizing and manufacturing consistency is great on these. Very comfortable, but would be great if there was a sibling model that was a bit thicker for colder months. :) October 18, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Rugged, well designed pants These pants seem to be very well built and rugged enough to be used for challenging environments or outdoor work. There are a lot of pockets, but not much unnecessary bulk. The material is thinner and more comfortable in the summer than some similar pants I've owned from manufacturers like Carharrt and Mountain Khakis. I did find that these fit me well in the waist but were more "baggy" along the leg than I typically wear, as well as a little longer than usual. October 5, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Super durable The Ultimate ROC canvas looks great and holds up to wear and tear. I wear them to work and for outdoor activities. Super utilitarian. October 2, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Everyday casual pant. Great when a slight upgrade from jeans is proper. Good fitting work pants that look good enough to wear to any "casual wear" event. I have always liked 100% cotton that is strong enough to work in the woods and smooth enough to go to town. September 24, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Pants I like these pants for work. September 18, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great pair of pants! I have three pairs of these pants. They are a real go-to for me. They are comfortable no matter the activity. They are great in the woods or out to supper with the family. They also have several "hidden"pockets. Overall, my favorite pants in my closet! September 12, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Second Pair I had a pair of these for a year and the snap did not seem to stay closed all the time. This new pair has a much improved snap. The fit is great, they seem rugged but also thin. I will enjoy these pants for some time I am sure. September 10, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Does not fit Do not buy these without trying them on. I have 2 pair of the same stated size, but one is 2 inches bigger in the waist. I can't return them because I took the tags off. September 9, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Runs large I returned my first order for 33W 30L pants. Waist was closer to 34", length almost 32". Replacement pants, also 33 X 30, are a better fit, but still a little long. Attractive fabric, color and style. September 4, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by GET RID OF THE SNAP, COLUMBIA! Great pants. Own many pairs. HATE THAT DANG SNAP! Won't stay snapped. Have replaced the snap with button on ALL of mine! I'd buy more except for the stupid, cheap, snap! August 31, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great replacement Had issue with snap. They replaced or fixed item to where it looks new. Just order 2 more pairs on outlet. Great for caring gear at office. Only wish the have more extended length in other styles. Tough to find 36 length July 25, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Versatile I habe worn these hiking and camping, as well as to business sales appointments. They are light weight and tough. They look good and are comfortable to wear all day in any environment. Only issue I've had is tearing a little in the crotch with normal wear and tear. I used a travel sewing kit to stitch it up, and it has held just fine. I would buy these pants again. June 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great in rain Just wore ROC pants in Houston downpour. Shed water nicely and were very comfortable on plane ride home. Wish 38x36 was available in all colors, especially black. June 14, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Unusable and frustrated I normally love these pants, and still do when they fit. I purchased three pairs of these to match a pair I bought and love. To my surprise all three are marked the size I ordered, but are actually three different sizes. The pair I currently own fit fantastic, the three I received from online do not fit, and cannot be worn. Very frustrating. I cannot order a larger size, because if they show up actual size they will be to big. June 14, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great all around pants I can wear these to work as business casual, or I can go hiking, hunting or fishing w/ these on and not worry about durability. Great pants and the 36" inseam works perfectly for tall guys June 3, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Ultimate ROC Pants Waist size and length run true to size. Good material and comfortable to wear. May 27, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Runs Long, not large Nice pants. My 3rd of a similar design. Casual pants, but can pass for business casual. Waist runs true, length was very long. I can usually wear a 36 length. These went past my heels, midway through my foot. Had to return for 34's. Now fine. I like. Hate that I had to return & pay for shipping. May 20, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Bummed. Major Lack of quality. I waited to review these pants until I wore them 5-7 times to make sure they were decent quality. I am glad I waited. When I purchased these pants they felt great. I have owned them for about 2 months. Where the crotch seam is and where the belt loop seams are, there are holes and separations. This started happening after about the third time wearing them. I just wore them for everyday use but was hoping I was going to be able to wear them hiking and fishing etc. These pants are pretty low quality. They are now my most expensive oil changing pants since thats about all they are good for now that they are falling apart. Columbia needs to step it up. May 18, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Stove pipe legs Looks awful on your body. Looks much better in pictures. April 30, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ultimate ROC Pant Great wear and very comfortable. I use it mainly for casual occasions. April 6, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by ultimate roc Got my ultimate Roc pants and absolutely love them. They are quite versatile for daily outings as well as comfortable fit for mild-mod hikes. Highly recommend. April 2, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great pants These pants fit perfectly. March 17, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Color does not match First, I love these pants - very comfortable, lightweight but sturdy fabric, look good dressed up or down. I have 4 pairs, they have replaced my jeans and dress cotton twills. However, the color selection is limited. I ordered a pair in the Flax color - what arrived is much darker than the photo above. Not what I wanted so I have returned them. There are some issues that many other reviewers have pointed out. The snap at the waist is weak. It will pop open with the slightest pressure. I find I have to wear a belt with these pants all the time. This must be corrected. The color selection is limited - the darker colors all look very similar. What would be great is a true khaki color and maybe a dark slate blue and/or black. Overall, these pants are among the best items in my closet and I wear them a lot, but there are improvements to be made. February 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Sr. It is what a ask and I will keep order from the website. I was looking this product around my area and finally I find it here !!!! February 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Pair of Pants I found my first pair in Ross at a huge discount, and wear nothing else since. Just ordered two pair Grill and Flax... HEY GUYS I NEED SOME OTHER COLOR OPTIONS IN 40x34 PLEEEAAASSE! PROS:These pants are awesome, durable, and comfortable. Mostly used at my job as a teacher. But cool enough to wear out on a Friday night! CONS: The only con for me is the color difference between whats on the site and what i actually received. The Flax is much darker than depicted, which is fine. But the Grill is mostly greenish and a bit blueishgray. (adding pic shortly). Not really the color I wanted or expected . But I am keeping them. OVERALL: I will continue to buy and so should you! February 7, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Ultimate ROC pant Overall a good product. Water resistant and cotton seemed too good to be true, but both function well. The phone pocket only works with older smaller phones though. It seems that we need ever increasing space for these electronic appendages. February 6, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent winter weight pants I bought two pair and could not be more satisfied, size is right, weight great for winter in SC, what more could you ask! January 29, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice pants Pants are nice but wrinkle easy. Length is actually true, I could have gone down one length as the ones were tall. January 18, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great pants but shrink a bit These are quality pants that look great and feel great. 2 caveats. 1. They are a little wide around the ankles. The taper is minimal so if you are looking for that slimmer fit, this is not your pant. 2. They shrink up about a 1/2 length. Cant blame columbia for that as most cotton pants do. Order 1 length longer. January 16, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great pants, but they change year to year I love these pants. I've given up wearing jeans and wear these all the time. The fit is loose but not baggy. The pockets are deep. I have been buying these for the past four years. That said, these pants have changed over time. The fabric is a heavier weight than it was a few years ago, which is good in the winter but not in the summer. Last year, the color "Grill" was more dark grey, this year it is more very dark green. If the color changes, the name should change. Please keep the extended size range. January 14, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Live in Columbia ROC Pants I live in these pants. Have them in every color and when they wear out I buy another pair. Comfortable, great fit. Prefer ROC pants over jeans. another primary reason I wear them is the perfect sized cell phone pocket so I do not have to carry my phone in my back pocket. My wife calls them my "iPants". Only reason did not rate 5 stars...bought new iPhone 6 and does not fit in the pocket anymore. Time for a re-design...and FAST! Don't want to look for competing brand with larger pocket. December 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this pant! Pant has a great fit, comfortable yet durable feel, and I will buy this pant again soon. December 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Men’s Ultimate ROC Pant As a 6'5" man, it's great to have access to purchase comfortable casual wear like the Men’s Ultimate ROC Pant. These pants are well made and run true to size. I frequently have problems with pants shrinking in length, but these haven't displayed this problem. Thees pants are extraordinarily comfortable, and I find myself ordering additonal pairs in different colors. The Men’s Ultimate ROC Pants have become my go-to choice for casual pants, and they wear like iron. I especially appreciate the side pocket in the right leg which relieve's me from wearing a hole in my back rear pocket when sitting on my wallet. There's also a small pocket on the left leg that I find very handy for storing my car keys. I'll be a very unhappy camper if Columbia ever drops this item in the 36" length. December 18, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good Quality but not true to size I ordered these pants in my regular size, which is 33x32 but they were much too large. I exchanged them at the company store for a size smaller, but legs are still too wide. I am going to keep the pants, but I am not satisfied about this purchase as I thought I would be. My rating is significantly based on expectations but overall it is a quality product for someone who likes a relaxed fit. December 15, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great pants! I like em. Fit me and look good. November 26, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by My Favorite Pants, period! I really love these pants. VERY comfortable and versatile. Look good at work and great for lounging. I like the sleekness of the pockets and the fabric. I bought one pair and then bought a second and will buy another soon. They are generous and relaxed fitting. I can wear them in summer OR, in winter, and there is room for me to put on some long-underwear. CONS: Would like a couple more color choices. Some of the seams frayed on the left side near the thigh pocket and also along the edge of the back pockets. Those seems could be beefed up. But, it might be that I am pretty hard on pants, in general, so no biggie. Perhaps they can beef the fabric up.....then, again, I love the light weight of the fabric and its versatile composition. November 23, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by my favorite pants Columbia has been my favorite casual pants and shorts for a long time. These ultimate ROC pants fit well and are extremely confortable. The material is very light and thin...hope they last. Wish the bottoms of the pant legs is a little more straight legged, not flared. Will be buying more. November 19, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Product Fine - Shipping Slow I found these pants at a local Cabellas for my husband. He previously wore a similar product that Carhart does not produce any longer, so we were in search for a lightweight, non-jean product he could wear to work. These fit the bill. Only bad thing I could say about the entire transaction was that once we received the email stating "your order is on its way" it took at least another five plus days to receive it. November 15, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great pants I had purchased 2 pairs of these - and now they are my go to pants for everyday life and light outdoor activities (day hikes, cragging, etc). I love the hidden zipper side pocket for my wallet. The button could be improved upon, but aside from that these pants are perfect. I just ordered 4 more pairs. November 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great pants I've picked up 3 pairs of these. Look good for the office, great quality, fit well, and are tough enough to wear outdoors. I'll be getting more. October 12, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good For Travel Great for travel. Doesn't wrinkle much, easy to clean, can be a little dressy or a little casual. I ordered the Flax color. It was a little mare brown than pictured, but OK. The only improvement would be some Velcro or snap to secure the back pockets. October 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by My favorite Pants I purchased the Ultimate Roc pants a few years ago to wear at work. Being a mechanical engineer, I can be demanding on my clothes, especially my pants. Three years and 6 pair of Ultimate Roc Pant's later, I am still obsessed with them. The pants are lightweight and relaxed fit, this makes those long days in the office or in the outdoors much more comfortable. Not only that, these pants look nice in a casual office environment. Many of my co-workers have commented on how these pants seem to resist everything from wrinkles to stains. As an engineer, what more could you ask for! September 23, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome Pant Best comfortable pant I've worn for work or play. I was happy that the sizing is true to size. Great product Columbia! September 15, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Omni-shield material works This is the first pair of trousers I have that's designed specifically for outdoors, so what I found might not be anything special for this type of clothing. Yet I was still impressed with how well the Omni-Shield material worked. The material is flexible, so it is easy to walk in it. It is indeed water repellent to some degree, but not waterproof. In light rain the droplets tend to bounce off. I hiked for a couple of hours in dense fog and tall wet grass in these trousers. The bottom part got soaked and muddy, but not excessively. Since I was also wearing long underwear for warmth, my legs didn't actually get wet or cold. As the weather got sunny, the material dried very quickly, and most of the dirt just fell off naturally. I observed this several times, and it was quite impressive to me. The dirt would have stayed attached to other types type of materials (like denim). I only had the trousers for about 2-3 weeks, so I cannot tell how long they will last, or how long the material keeps its dirt and water repellent property. I did make heavy use of them during this time though (1-week camping trip), and I was very happy with their performance. The original fit was not 100% comfortable, but it got adjusted by itself after wearing it for 2-3 days. September 3, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Pants This was my first set of "quick dry" pants and I am sold! After wading through streams they were completely dry within 20 minutes! September 2, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by HHH Iron great! Long lasting! Love for my rugged professional man August 11, 2014
