Rated 2 out of 5 by Square shape coat If your short then this coat would work. I'm tall and thin to short in arms and body. September 18, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfy, Warm, Fitting Jacket This jacket fits really nicely, and it is warm and not too bulky! I would definitely recommend this jacket. September 11, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Maternity jacket I normally wear a small so I bought this jacket in a large because most of my pregnancy took place over the winter. I gained 35lbs and it only started to get snug at the last week of pregnancy. It saved me from spending a fortune on a "maternity" jacket and kept me warm and active all winter long. May 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good for my Snowboarding Days Bought this jacket and wore a fleece underneath it for my snowboarding trip. I was toasty Hot!!! The temperature were in the 30s at Whistler at that time so it did not help. I ended up taking off the fleece and only wearing the jacket with my thermal underneath. It kept me warm throughout the day. One thing I have a complain is the left front top pocket. For some reason the water does get into the pocket even with the zipper on. My ticket got wet after the whole day of snowboarding. I bought the bright red color version and it was beautiful! I normally wear XS on the top but this jacket fits fine with S with rooms for another layer underneath it. January 12, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by the best coat ever! I have this coat for a month or so. I have the pink one, the color is terrific! got a lot of compliments for it. The coat is very flattering. it snowed this weekend (Israeli snow, but still), and it kept me very warm and dry. probably the best coat I ever had! it is comfortable and yet - very pretty. Rated 1 out of 5 by Very disappointed Surely I didn't purchase the same jacket that is being reviewed so highly here. This is one cold jacket!! I think the 'aluminum foil' interior attracts the cold. I wore it in 35-40 degree weather in NC hiking in the woods on a sunny day, and froze to death. Never got warm, kept getting colder. Layered with a fleece jacket underneath and still froze. Dunno how these folks in the colder, snowy climates managed to stay so toasty warm. I just don't see it. I will be returning it. (On a positive note, it fit great and I will be very sad to see that gorgeous purple go...) December 26, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by New England Winter Ready Coat! I bought this jacket as a birthday gift for myself, and I couldn't be anymore satisfied. I'm generally a medium, but I ordered a Large just to be on the safe side. The jacket fits me well, but seems to be a little too fitted for a large. I would suggest that if you're regularly a large, that you buy a size up. So far I've worn this jacket in as cold as below 20 degree weather, and I've remained absolutely warm. Sometimes I find myself getting overheated and become tempted to take the jacket off. The hood is adjustable, which is perfect for the wind, and when it rains. This jacket keeps me warm, and safe from the cold weather, and rain. This is definitely going to be my winter jacket for a a few years. December 24, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice and warm I love this jacket. I am always freezing , but I've been warm in this jacket. I've worn it out in windy and 20 degrees. The black is more a dark grey. The thumb holes on the sleeves are awesome. I am 5'9" and wear a 12 usually. The XL fits well, the sleeves are just long enough. December 19, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by My favorite coat of all time! I was looking for something to keep me warm while I played outside. This jacket gives me mobility and I don't feel the wind while it's blowing. It's by far my favorite coat. I was recently caught in a rainstorm and this coat kept me dry and happy. My friends keep trying it on because they like it too! I would buy this again! More colors please! December 19, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent quality I usually wear a medium but I listened to the reviews that it runs small so I ordered a large and it fits perfectly. I live in Maine where it's cold and the jacket keeps me warm and dry. Before I chose this jacket I shopped around, looking at all the brand names and this one was the best. I'm very pleased with my purchase and highly recommend it. December 17, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Product - Buy larger than expected I love Columbia coats. My current one I have had for a long time but it's too snug. Living in MN is cold, so I came back for a new coat. I took my measurements and saw the size I should be was between S & M. But with the fit being "slightly small" I went up to the M. Upon arrival, the M now fits the way my current XS fits... too snug to comfortably zip. I now have to ship it back and get a L! December 16, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by As Expected Overall, this is a really good jacket. It's well made and is functional. I love the various pockets. I was hoping this would be a truer black but its like a black/grey textured color. The photo is pretty true to what it looks like. The wrist guards that keep snow from coming in the sleeve is good but there are times that I wish they could be removed. The hood is detachable but I always leave it on. The only thing I don't really like is the velcro closure in the front - it snugs and sticks to everything and all my clothing and I don't find it to necessary other than looking a bit more seamless. I do like how high the collar is and really gives you go protection against cold weather. December 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very warm coat; high quality I love this jacket! When I first got the coat, I was a little worried because it feels a little light weight, but the materials are so well designed that its ability to trap heat is impressive and surprising. For windy Philadelphia winters, this coat is perfect. The outer layer is basically impermeable to wind and water. Sometimes when it is in the thirties, I even have to unzip it because I am that warm! Like the other reviews said, it is not quite black, but almost dark charcoal gray, but it is very attractive and I think I like it even better than solid black. December 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect for the active person. First of all the hibiscus red is is an orange-red. If neon red was a color this would be it. I like bright colors so it doesn't bother me too much, but I was expecting a more apple or Christmas red shade as shown in the pictures and video. I bought it for use as an every day winter coat hoping it would be nice for the single digits and negative temperatures. This jacket keeps you warm only if you are moving. As a tour guide this is a fantastic winter jacket! I am comfortable while outside for a few hours (not too hot or cold). I wear it inside at work a lot because it's very cozy. I never get too warm in it when sitting at a desk. If you are looking for a coat to keep you warm while standing outside for long periods of time (such as during a football game) with temperatures below 25 degrees I do not recommend this jacket. I haven't tried it skiing but I imagine it would be excellent since it is great at keeping in body heat when active. The jacket is a lot lighter and more flexible than any other similar coat I've owned before. I am typically between sizes L and XL. I ordered XL and I love it! There's just enough room to wear a sweater or a thin sweatshirt with it but I don't ever need to. This jacket has made me a fan of the Omni-Heat reflective. December 13, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by A REALLY warm coat that's not bulky, is sporty and stylish I live in Minnesota and walk my dog in any weather, even below 0, so I've been looking for a new coat for quite some time. First I ordered a North Face thermoball parka, and it wasn't warm at all so I returned it. This coat is a much better value, is super warm, is sporty, stylish and comfortable. I love it and wear it all the time - I'm so much more excited about winter with this great new coat. Thanks Columbia for making a great winter coat that doesn't use down! December 5, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for Hiking I would definitely recommend this jacket for it's comfort, durability, and warmth. I spend a lot of time hiking the mountains here in the Northeast and just tested this out on a snowshoeing trip last weekend, when temps were 10-20 degrees. It was great. It was comfortable to backpack in, and kept me extremely warm on the peaks. It fits to size, and I appreciate all of the waterproof pocket space it has for my equipment. December 5, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by dry and warm I usually wear a medium but ordered a large since it said it runs a little small. I had to adjust the toggles to tighten around the bottom of the coat and it fit wonderfully. Rain just beads off the thing. I have to shake my coat off before getting in the car to keep the seats dry. I was warm in 20 degree weather. love the Omni heat and the cuffs that keep wind from blowing up your sleeves. Also placement of the hood keeps wind from blowing down your neck/back. well worth the money. great investment! December 4, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Warmest Jacket Ever! I live in northern Wisconsin and purchased this jacket towards the end of October. It has been unseasonably cold here and this jacket has kept me toasty through all of November. This jacket also has plenty of pockets! November 30, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by nice jacket the jacket runs a little snug. tailored fit. it is made well and appears to be a nice jacket. I purchased a small based on recommendation 6-8 which is what I wear. however it is a tailored style so I had to send it back for a medium. I don't have it yet so I don't know how it will fit. but the quality of the jacket is nice. November 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Buy it! This is by far the best winter coat I have owned. The coat provides enough warmth for Wisconsin winters but doesn't feel bulky. The light weight makes it comfortable enough to wear during normal activities such as shopping and driving. It also doesn't seem to make me overheat indoors like most do. The material inside of the jacket makes slipping it on and off very easy, even when bulky items are worn underneath. The feminine cut makes it cute rather than giving the marshmallow man effect. I am 5.5/5.6", 170 lbs and the Large fit perfectly. The only warning I have is that the black is actually more of a charcoal (which I think is much cuter than the black!) November 18, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by sizing The extra large was way to small and the only information enclosed was about returning the item nothing about how to exchange it for another size November 9, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great coat for the outdoors! I bought this coat to keep me warm in central Minnesota weather (that's -65 below windchill and such). I will normally wear it for twenty minute outdoor walks between college classes, but I also spend a good chunk of my time cross-country skiing and horseback riding during the winter. I'm 5'9 and 125 pounds and bought a medium so I would have room for layers, and it fits great. I haven't had a chance to try it out in that type of weather, but I did wear it on a windy, 30 degree, 6 hour horse ride and it was way too warm, so I think its going to work fine. It definitely stopped the wind and held in heat, which was my biggest concerns. Also, it is VERY water repellent. I dunked an elbow into a river to see if the water would soak in and it rolled right off. There are also pockets everywhere, which is excellent for a long outdoor trip. Also, the cuffs have thumb holes in them, which is great when you are busy working with your hands and don't want your sleeves sliding up. I bought this coat in black and it is not as dark as the online picture suggests. But the pattern is very nice and I think the color works well. Overall I love this coat, and I think it is an actual 'true' winter coat. October 24, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Just what I was looking for! I bought this coat in black. The only complaint I have is it's not as dark as in the picture. Other than that I love it! I bought a medium so I could layer clothes under and it's roomy. Standing in my house trying it on I was already getting overheated from it! Very nice coat I would recommend it. August 20, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love the colour and cut of jacket. Only missing a place to attach a lift pass. Sure would be nice to be able to have the ability to remove ski lift pass from coat to pant on those spring skiing days. September 24, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by This is a stylish jacket. I bought this in March 2013 with hopes of it keeping me super warm but unless I wore with it my fleece from Columbia that also has omni heat it just wasn't warm enough in the Canadian winter. The two together though was super great and warm ,but that defeated my purpose of not wanting a two piece jacket. November 9, 2014
