Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth it! I bought this jacket as a gift for my mom. I know she will love it because she loves bright colors plus the quality of the product is superb!
Date published: 2017-03-16
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Short on features Not as warm as my last interchangeable jacket. Also I miss the inside and left breast pockets

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket Great fit - love the zip out warm lining so that it can be used just as a light rain jacket. Very nice!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not very warm This coat looks great. Fit is wonderfull - not too tight or too lose and plenty of room to MOVE. However, this coat is not at all warm enough for a MN winter. I've had Columbia coats in this style before, and they have worked well. Maybe there was a redesign? If you are looking for something really warm - keep looking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the coat, but runs big I have had a Columbia Omni-heat jacket for years and love it! I was looking to upgrade to one that was omni heat and Omni shield/water proof. The coat I wanted to replace was a small, so that's the size I ordered. I LOVED the color combination and was so excited when it came in the mail. When I tried it on, it was almost as big as the medium I had tried on in store. I would have exchanged it for an extra small one, but at that point they were out of extra smalls! Bummer...maybe next year!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like it This jacket is not actually fitted at the waist. Otherwise, I really like it. It has princess seaming, so I bet it will be easy for a tailor to take in at the waist. The size chart says I'm size M, but M was huge on me. I got a size small next, which fit better in most ways. I can still wear a sweater under it. The smaller size did bind a tad in the shoulders, which is fine for my purposes. If you ski, you probably want to follow Columbia's size recommendation for the sake of unrestricted movement. The fleece liner is a little stiff, but soft to the touch. It's a thinner liner than I expected. Maybe that's because you make a lot of heat when you ski. For me, it's a good windbreaker for walking on windy, merely chilly Texas days. I think it will work for our "cold" days if I wear a sweater! Note: I get cold easily, even by Texan standards.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bugaboo quality not what it used to be I purchased this coat in February 2016 from Sports Authority. It was a replacement for the Columbia Bugaboo 3-in-1 interchange jacket I had bought about 10 years prior and absolutely loved, but had a tear in the outer shell. This will likely be the last jacket I purchase from Columbia. The quality and attention to detail is very poor compared to previous versions. Things my previous Bugaboo jacket had that this one lacks: 1) Elastic on the sleeves of the inner fleece jacket to keep out the cold (useful when you buy up 1 size planning on wearing bulky sweaters in a Wisconsin winter) 2) An elastic pull cord at the bottom of the fleece to keep cold air from blowing up your back. 3) An inner security pocket in the fleece 4) An outside left breast zippered pocket in the shell 5) An outside sleeve pocket - really not missed, was never used. Things this jacket has that previous Bugaboo jacket didn't: 1) Omni-heat dots- completely negated by the lack of elastic built into the fleece cuffs. 2) The inner security pocket in the shell is zippered instead of velcro like the previous version. This is a nice feature, but somewhat negated by the lack of security pocket in the fleece.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Coat for New England Winters I bought this coat for winter warmth. It's held up beautifully to wind and cold and freezing temperatures. I absolutely love it and definitely recommend it.
Date published: 2017-01-08
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy with purchase It took about a week longer for the jacket to come in, which by the time it arrived the temperatures had risen to where this wasn't needed. Haven't been able to test it out in single digit weather yet but I am happy with the purchase thus far. True to size.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Winter jacket??????? A winter jacket? Bought this for my wife as a gift. The item is described as a winter jacket it is very thin and not warm at all. Maybe a winter jacket for Florida. It also is described as 3 jackets in one. All it is is a rain coat with a flimsy zip out liner. Either returning it or saving it if we ever go on a trip to the amazon in February. Don't waste your money unless you want a really expensive rain coat

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a heat bubble I love this coat!! I've currently had it for 2 winters in Chicago. I wore it ice skating when the wind chill was -40*F. After an hour of skating, I had to sit in the ice house to stop sweating before heading home. We're currently suppose to be a polar vortex and majority of the time, I'm only needed the fleece. I really only need the fleece until it drops to high teens or low 20s. Wind breaker by itself, lasts me till the mid-40s.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ripped within 2 weeks I have been wearing this coat for a only a few weeks and I went to take it off last night and the stitching came apart where the lining is stitched to the outer shell of the coat. Needless to say I am not thrilled that I already have to sew it after very little use. This is actually the 3rd Columbia coat I have owned and I never had problems with them years ago. Another frustration is how the fleece sleeves do not come off as easily because of how they are not permanently attached to the outer shell so you have to be careful when taking the coat off...very careful so it doesn't rip. I have been wearing a North Face coat prior to this one for years and thought I would give Columbia another shot. The coat is warm but not satisfied with function and durability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great coat, almost too warm! Looks very good, nice colors. Wore to a 4 hour out door event that was cold and raining. So warm I had to unzip periodically. Love it!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looks cheap, feels cheap This 3 in 1 is lighter than my spring jackets. I have never seen such a thin fleece. The "reflective" Omnheat lining makes it look like cheap foil/saran lining. I have seen better quality in Walmart and will be returning asap. I wouldn't wear it at 1/4 of the price. Too bad - my old Columbia jacket looked good and was a true winter jacket. Another expensive brand cheaped out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best quality, style & value! We live in the city by our Mountain & Bosque action, so my teens need stylish, versatile layers for every season's weather without breaking the bank as they grow. Columbia has always fit our needs! Even since their first year in a one piece snow suit...Columbia has been our brand for outerwear! We love the convenience & value by shopping online now with Columbia directly! We own 2 of these jackets for summer/fall rain to ski/snowboarding season...THEY ARE PERFECT!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Please lose the velcro!! I got this jacket as a replacement for one I had from Columbia previously, which had Velcro all down the front and self-destructed! I haven't worn this one yet - I got it because it was the ONLY Interchange jacket I could find on the site, in the color I wanted, that did NOT have Velcro ALL the way up the front (only partway - and I am considering getting a seam ripper and removing it). I AGREE with this review of a similar Columbia jacket: " I kept this jacket only because it's the closest I could find to the last Columbia jacket I purchased, but I'm already wishing I hadn't kept it because the Velcro down the front placket of the jacket is sticking to everything and driving me crazy! When I take it off the hanger to put it on, I have to lay it down and pull the jacket apart because the Velcro pieces are stuck together. The Velcro sticks to my clothing and the Velcro pieces on the cuffs when I am putting the jacket on, as well as scratching my skin. AWFUL!!!" I am hoping against hope that this jacket will not shred itself along with all my scarves, etc. - but I URGE COLUMBIA TO LOSE THE VELCRO AND GO BACK TO SNAPS. Seriously. MAJOR design flaw.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but large and not white I haven't used it yet, so I can't speak to its function yet, !$5 is definitely well-made. I am 5'7", 125 lbs and typically wear a small, but this jacket was quite large for a small. I had to exchange for an XS. Also, "chalk" is not white, it's off-white.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The don't make 'em like they used to I bought this jacket because I've completely worn out my old Columbia 2-in-1 jacket. Had it for 10+ years and love it (still). Two things they should have figured out by now: 1. Considering the length of this coat, it should have a second zipper that unzips from the bottom for ease of movement and sitting. But it doesn't:[ 2. The lining should be slippery so that it slides over whatever you're wearing, but it doesn't it's like brushed cotton (or something) so it grabs your sweater sleeves and bunches them up. If you raise your arm over your head (which I have to do a lot in my work), you have to reach under and pull your sweater down right or it's all rucked up under the jacket. Did anybody actually try this on????

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beware the color I purchased the Bluebell. The color was much more vibrant than it looks online. The blue part was definitely brighter, almost purplish and the peach was more of a bright pink. Definitely not my color palette so I returned it. Also of note the sleeves are very open (even with the velcro at the bottom) which won't do for a Minnesota winter.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Runs very big I have read many reviews that people felt this ran small but I completely disagree. I'm 5'4/125lbs/C cup and ordered a small. I tried on the Columbia Whirlibird in a store in small, if fit perfectly but they did not offer the color here on the website that I liked, as well as I own two other Columbia jackets in small so hence why I ordered a small. The sleeves are extremely too long and I look pregnant my husband said wearing this jacket. It's VERY baggy/big looking and I tried it on with a thick sweater. I'm extremely unhappy and should have just had the whirlibird ordered in a different color than I liked because as least I know it would fit properly. The red camilia whirlibird was not an option on their website like it was at a store that had it. I had someone order this jacket for me so now I'm stuck because it's too much of a hassle to mail it back to them to mail back to Columbia with the receipt that they have and then reorder another jacket all before my Alaska trip next month. Anyways, the point is if you're around my stats, I'd order an xs or know the small will be baggy. As usual with any Columbia jacket, it is well made/great quality.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Light weight This jacket is really thin. More like a rain jacket. I bought this jacket thinking it would be thick and warm for michigan weather. Not impressed with the thickness. Saw the alpine which also has the omni-heat on stores and it is slightly thicker. I hope the omni-heat does the trick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great coat My husband has an old Columbia coat that I have wished it was mine for years. I finally found one comparable and am tickled! Love the red with the pretty aqua lining. Great all-round coat. I never go wrong with Columbia!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bump It Up I had to reorder this jacket TWICE to get one that fit. It runs VERY small. I usually wear an XL and ended up with a 2X for proper fit. Other than that, it is beautiful and very well made. It was well worth the trouble. Alaska, here I come!
Date published: 2016-09-01
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the versatility and quality I love this jacket - it is literally an all-weather jacket combo. I should've gotten a small - I'm 5'4" and 135 lbs and the medium is baggy. I wanted enough room to wear a sweater under, but the medium is still a little large. I bought the Dahlia color - rich wine, burgundy. Love it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from First time purchase Not happy with the color or fit. Also, it's more like a fall jacket. Will never keep me warm in MI winters.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fit Excellent quality. I like the fact that the jacket has a removable lining. If it gets warmer, can remove. Got a small. A little snug in the arms because well padded but medium would have been too big. Going on Alaska cruise so need added warmth for evenings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great light duty jacket Omni heat keeps you warm and outtershell keeps you dry. Perfect for winter in the Pacific Northwest. Not heavy enough to take to the slopes or back country but great for day hikes and day to day wear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Womens Bugaboo Interchange Jacket You can't go wrong with Columbia. I absolutely LOVE this jacket/coat. As a tall/lengthy woman with a very small frame I have a hard time finding clothing to fit not only my body but my long arms. The sleeves on this jacket are super long which I absolutely LOVE!!! I couldn't have made a better purchase. Initially, I ordered a size up (LRG), but when I received the coat it was far too big. So, Customer service helped me return the jacket and get a medium. Even with the medium I have plenty of room to put layers underneath. I am 5'11 125lbs. I normally wear a size 0-5 depending on the brand. But, always have to order a size up due to the length of my arms. Customer service told me that from the XS-L there is only a 1/2 inch difference in the length of the sleeves. So, I would suggest ordering your regular size. Hope you enjoy this jacket as much as I am. It is so very warm, waterproof, and windproof. I bought this for snowy/cold weather and skiing. ENJOY!!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this jacket I bought this jacket for my teen daughter and she absolutely loves it. It's a nice looking jacket that keeps her warm. Breaks down into a lighter weight jacket for when the weathers a little warmer. Will definitely get out money out of it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE THIS COAT! I have been a die hard colombia fan for years and I have always had luck with their clothes. But this jacket by far is the best one I've ever had. Light weight and super warm! I highly recommend this jacket for anyone buying a new winter coat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excited to get some use out of this jacket I just received this jacket and I look forward to getting a lot of use out of it. I love how functional each piece is on its own. The sleeves are a tiny bit long but I don't foresee that being a problem - I just tightened the wrists a little. I love the nocturnal atoll colors.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great coat for MILD TEMPERATURES This coat is great, but not if you live in a freezing cold place. I live in upstate NY, and it isn't warm enough to compete with the 5 degree morning temperatures. This coat is awesome for people who live in more mild climates. I wouldn't buy this if it gets colder than 30 degrees.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect jacket! I just love this jacket! I love it so much I bought two. It is perfect, lightweight, warm and roomy enough for a sweatshirt underneath, even though you don't need one. Perfect for snowy days in Tahoe and Yosemite, or windy days in San Francisco.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit and function I got this coat for my teenager. She hates coats but happily wears this and often tells me how comfortable it is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything I expected and more! I just bought this jacket to use for skiing and I absolutely love it! A few complaints here say that they dislike this jacket because it is "flimsy" persay, and I would agree that this jacket is not "sturdy," but it gives you great motility for skiing that I could not love more. It is very light and easy to wear. I ordered a Medium (I'm 5'9", 150 pounds) and it fits me perfectly. Which says a lot because I usually struggle with having sleeves that are too short. The fleece on the inside is comfy and it is nice and warm and I can't wait to use it out on the mountains again. I give this a 10/10. Good buy that was very affordable; thanks Columbia!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unhappy The sleeves are too small. I got a 2x as the sizes seem a lot smaller, my other jackets are Large, I wish that i still had my old coat. Not happy with the material of the inner jacket traps moisture. Loved the colour but thats it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great cold weather coat I was in need of a new winter coat to survive the cold Pittsburgh winters and this one does the trick! It keeps me super warm when the temps dip below 0 but doesn't overheat me when it gets above 32. The sleeves are long enough to comfortably fit my 6 foot frame. It's also not too restrictive when I'm driving. The collar also pops up nice and high to help cut down the wind. I am really pleased with this coat!
