Women's Coolest Cool™ Short Sleeve Top 3.8 5 34 34
Way too small! I purchased 2 of these shirts to wear during a trip in Vietnam. I usually wear a medium in Columbia tops but purchased the large as I was told they run small. It was still too small - tight and too form fitting. A disappointment. I can't comment on quality or function as I immediately returned them. I would suggest changing the sizing to better indicate the fit. January 27, 2014
Returning AL6553 Positives: Good fit, color, design. Comfortable to wear. Negatives: Did not cool most sweaty areas, just under arms & chest a little, but my chest broke out in a heat rash. January 7, 2014
High quality shirt, This shirt fits true to size, as does most of the Columbia gear I have owned through the years. It is a super light weight, comfortable and quick drying shirt. I've worn it hiking, rafting and even to work. That is really all I need a shirt to be, so that alone is a win for me. It hasn't pilled, faded, shrunk and no seams have come undone. As for the omni-freeze sub zero: it has to be pretty wet for you to notice a difference. Hiking alone I honestly barely notice it, when I'm running, or even just walking outside in the sauna that is Texas it does make a difference. That being said, it's not going to feel like someone just cold misted you or threw you in an ice box, be realistic here. I will say that when I wore it rafting and the water was already chilly, even though the shirt dried pretty quickly, I stayed cool forever. December 2, 2013
Love this shiret This shirt was the equipment winner for our Grand Canyon hike. It was the perfect color, the perfect weight, not confining, washes out easily, dries easily, and generally looks and feels good. November 12, 2013
These shirts work! I love these shirts. Don't expect to feel dramatically cooler, but I do feel cooler. What I like best about the shirt is how fast my sweat evaporates off of the shirt. July 10, 2013
Omni cool woman's shirt Nice looking shirt..but expensive hype...minimal cooling at Best! Disappointing..he May 19, 2013
Great for hot weather I guide for a living in the desert southwest. This shirt is the best for keeping me cool and comfortable. It IS really true what they say about the fabric cooling your skin. The fabric is also very soft and comfortable. I like the little blue dots on the white shirt--I am thinking this will cover the inevitable yellowing of the shirt with time. If you want more sun protection, the LS version of this is great too. May 15, 2013
Promising Shirt This shirt did what it said...cooled you down...but it had a weird, musty smell. January 12, 2013
Need more time to test in different weather conditions I've only had a chance to use this a few times, and the weather has been chilly each time I've used it. The shirt definitely kept me warm when it was chilly, but I also got hot while running and either didn't sweat enough for the fabric to cool me or wasn't making enough of a breeze. I'd tried a test sample of the fabric at an event which is what got me interested, so I know it can work, but I probably won't have a chance to fully test it's ability until next summer. December 11, 2012
Great function, stinky though Living in the desert, where it's always a challenge to stay cool while working out, this shirt it perfect. I spray the shirt down before I head outside and by time it starts to dry, I'm now producing the moisture/sweat that will keep the shirt doing it's thing, helping to keep you cool. FYI, I don't sweat that much. The one big down side it how quickly it gets stinky. There's already an oder to it brand new, I'm thinking it's the material, but it gets much worse and rather quickly. I had gone out for a 60 minute run and by time I was done I could barley stand the shirts stink. So I guess this means I'll be seeking out headwinds as the stinkyness isn't enough to make me stop using it. And Columbia people, how about a long sleeve and other colors. My white one, after one use is no longer white. There are many other light colors that can be used. November 5, 2012
Excellent Hiking Shirt Used this shirt during a few of my hikes and kayaking trips already and it feels wonderful! Keeps you cool, it's comfortable, and it is very lightweight. Very functional for those warm/hot days outdoors and on the water. Shipping was fast, too. October 25, 2012
This product is great for workouts The shirt definitely is good for a workout. My only problem is the fit. It is very fitted because it has so much stretch to it. I normally take a small but it is a little too snug for my liking. October 5, 2012
Very good running shirt Because it's fall and the temperatures are dropping in Southeastern PA, I wore this shirt on a day that was not very hot, but warm enough that I would sweat while running. When I started to sweat, I waited for the shirt to feel cool as the product's description suggests, but I didn't feel any temperature change in the fabric. I attribute this to the fact that the temperature was in the upper 50s, therefore, any cooling sensation I would have felt was probably the same temperature as the air so I didn't notice it. Otherwise, the shirt fit perfect, it did a great job at wicking the sweat away from my body and it moved nicely, causing no chaffing. I totally recommend this shirt. October 4, 2012
I really love this top!! I normally wear XS for Columbia tops, and I was debating if I should get XS or S for this one after reading other reviews. So I ordered both XS and S. It turned out that XS fits perfectly while S was loose on me. So I didn't need to go up a size and stay with XS, and returned the S. Thus, I think it's true to size. I feel cool in this top even before I sweat, cooler than my other Omni-Freeze Ice tops. The fabric wicks sweat away well too so I won't be wet or overheated under the sun or when cooking in the kitchen. I can wear it as a baselayer or as a top. I am glad I bought this top. The design of this top accommodates curves, which I like alot. I think it is form fitting but it is not constricting, so I can move comfortably while it can wick away my sweat efficiently. I like that the fabric is not the shiny kind and it's really soft and comfortable. I like this more than my other tops with Omni-Freeze Ice. I am looking forward to the new items when Omni-Freeze Zero is officially launched. October 4, 2012
Runs small, not totally white My shirt fit well because I ordered a size larger than what is specified on the size chart. My past experience is that Columbia sportswear is not true to the sizes on the charts. The fabric is very nice, however the white shirt has a flowery blue inner layer, which I found strange for a white shirt. I usually wear a women's 6 which is a small, but I ordered a Medium and it fit well. October 3, 2012
Women's Cool Short Sleeve This top fit comfortable, but does not make me feel cool, I feel like it am overheating in it. October 3, 2012
Works great, runs a bit small I have the summer cool breeze shirt in a M. So I order the same for this shirt and it runs much smaller then the breeze did. So if you like a roomie fit order up a size or it will be snug. This shirt wicks really well and does keep you cool. For max performance on a hot day, wet it, ring it out and wear. It does wonders to keep you cool and wick away moisture. October 3, 2012
Omni Freeze - Like this product We just received the omni-freeze and used for a couple games and so far loving it in this 90+ degree temp. October 3, 2012
Feels Great! This shirt has a great fit and feels good on. It is light, cool and moves the way you do. There is no pulling and the sleeves are the perfect length. Wore it running at noon with temp in the 90's and felt cooler and dryer than in another tech shirt. October 3, 2012
Stinky Smell I put on the shirt after I bought it (before washing) and wore it for just a few minutes. I noticed a funky smell from the shirt. (It wasn't me). I am assuming this is a condition of the cooling properties. I have since washed it, but haven't tried it out again. I will try is out and see if I find that the cooling properties outweigh the funky smell. It is still a little smelly after one wash. October 3, 2012
Strong chemical smell and see thru I am not chemically sensitive at all - but when I opened the package I was blown away by the very strong smell. So strong that when I tried on the top - the smell was left on my skin and I had to take a shower to get it off!!! I washed it twice. and it seems better. I have not actually worn it yet for a workout. It has a small blue circle print on the inside of the material that gives it a slight poka dot appearance you don't see on the photo online. The underarm and side has big mesh vents - so wear a nice bra ladies as people are going to see it. The material is very lightweight. I wear a medium in the omni freeze shirts and usually they are a bit baggy on me in the mid section. This shirt is very form fitting and does not leave anything to the imagination. So if you have a nice figure - wear it with pride. October 3, 2012
sounds good Idea of this shirt sounds good but fit is terrible. Too tight under arms hampering with movement October 3, 2012
Love this shirt Handles sweat well, wears well, feels very comfortable, the white is not see-through like so many white tees are. I liked it so much I got 2. It is snug, I can wear both small or medium depending on the brand/shirt and the medium is just right in this. October 2, 2012
Women's Omnifreeze shirt The shirt really works, I live in the south where it is hot and humid. I wore this shirt on a bike ride and stayed nice and cool. It was kinda funny, my frount was cold when I took off the shirt and my back was warm. I would recommed this shirt to anyone. October 2, 2012
Returned...because I couldn't get the right size Based on the reviews that this product runs small, I wanted to order a large (I usually wear a medium). Since this was a promotion and a large was no longer available I went a head and ordred a medium. Too small...had to return it. September 30, 2012
Needs long sleeves and tail It does keep cool and it does wick away. Not enough sun protection. Part of my purchase is sun block fabric. I don't use chemical sun block. Also for me a slightly deeper V neck. And color please. White doesn't get clean and does nothing for my complexion. It is a snug fit, per function, but so are arm pits. I'm not svelte enough for Columbia styles. I use this shirt on the trail, in the canoe, doing yard work, gardening and roofing. I recommend with provisos. September 17, 2012
Enjoyed the cooling ability at a very hot fair the other day. Gorgeous line. I really enjoyed the quality of the look, and the feel of the temperature. i wore the shirt to our annual town fair, and it kept me from burning up. September 16, 2012
Great exercise shirt! This shirt is great for getting hot and sweaty while exercising! I wear a small in exercise tops and I ordered a small in this one as well. It has a snug fit, but not to tight...very comfortable! September 10, 2012
Not so cool top This top was not what I expected. I normally wear a size medium, got this in a large to be safe, and it was very small! It did not seem to feel "cool" while working out like advertised. Seemed like any other athletic shirt to me. September 5, 2012
Yes, it keeps you cool in the heat I was so excited a shirt like this was coming on the market. I use the Frog Tog towels and hats to keep cool in the Arizona heat while hiking and playing tennis. - It does do the trick. I got the shirt damp before the hike and was cool the entire 1-hour hike in 100 degree heat. I did not need to add mositure the entire hike, but next time I will bring my spray bottle. - I ordered the XL and it was a little more snug than I was expecting. I guess it needs to be to keep you cool, but a little awkward out on the trail and court. - I wish it had more of a V-neckline. I found myself tugging at it a bit. (Is it meant to be an undershirt?) One really "Cool" shirt! As a runner (okay, "wogger") of trails and roads in the very arid but equally as beautiful mountains of Park City, the concept behind a shirt that would "keep me cool" as a logged in (oops, wogged) my 4 miles was what prompted a purchase. Although the top is not my usual fashionista style (colorful running tanks are), what it promised to deliver was too big a draw to turn down. So, I took the plunge. Or rather my shirt did. Before I headed out for my mid-day mountain meander, I dunked it. And put it on. Wow. Talk about being "one cool runner". The shirt did not "feel" wet, it felt - cool, which kept me from feeling overheated, which caused me to run a bit further! (A shirt that encourages exercise! ) But, what of the shirt if it is "not wet" prior to use? The form fitting feminine shape easily discerned it from man-cut shirts with a "female" label. Simply, it looked good on, passing a piece of my passion for fashion rule. And it feels ultra soft, passing the tactile test. But what's amazing is that the second time I took it on a run, I didn't wet it with water - I little perspiration did the trick to keep it cool - (yeah, girls sweat too) and once again delivered on its name, "Coolest Cool". So, what would I change about it? Color variety. I LOVE the white - with the tiny micro blue dots - but, can I get some micro dots in fuchsia please? August 22, 2012
Good Design/ Tight Fit The shirt does what it says it will do. I like the design of the shirt. I would love another in other colors - white shows dirt... The fit of the shirt is definitely " performance" or tight fit. Go up a size if you have a bust. August 20, 2012
Cool, Lightweight, Extremely Comfortable I sampled this product at this year's Open Air Demo for the Outdoor Retailer's Show. They gave us a sample sleeve to wear around for the day. After spraying some water on the sleeve, it kept my arm cool for hours. I went home and purchased a shirt online. I have had it for a couple of weeks now. It is my favorite running and workout shirt. Not only does it keep you cool as it claims, it is the most comfortable shirt I own. It feels very lightweight and non-constricting. It dries quickly and does not have that clammy feeling other cooling shirts have. This product lives up to its claims. I am very satisfied! August 19, 2012
Not quite what I hoped I received some sleeves samples to witness the "cooling" properties. I was at an outdoor concert venue and I felt that they really did make me feel cooler. Three of my running buddies and I bought this shirt. We all feel for a drifit shirt, it's one of the best. As for "cooling" us while we're running, it doesn't live up. I found that if I wet the shirt before I run, that it feels cooler, but my sweat alone doesn't do the job. We live in Florida where it is VERY hot and humid, so we are dripping after a couple miles. The shirt is comfortable, but that's as far as I go while running. The "cooling" properties are felt after the run while standing around. $55 is too pricey for what you get. August 7, 2012
