Reviews

Women’s Gold 650 TurboDown™ Down Jacket is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 41.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sharp Looking I love this jacket. It's a little tight in the mid section. This is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. The arms and shoulders fit great. Can't wait to try it when winter comes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Strange Fit This jacket is so weird. It is very small in the body and has huge arms. I read this in all the reviews but didn't think it could be that bad... it is! Unless you have no bust and huge body builder arms, this jacket is not for you. I was also not a fan of the omniheat lining. It feels like you are wearing a coat made of aluminum foil! I returned the jacket, which was very easy to do!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my Jacket Keeps me warm and it is light enough to feel comfortable and not bluky.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Toasty! First, I must say that I LOVE Omni-Heat anything! I have gloves, a vest, and a hat lined with it. My original Columbia coat is 21 years old. It still looks great, but I decided it was time to retire it for a new Omni-Heat one. I made the right decision. This coat is incredibly comfortable. It moves with me and is never bulky. It is cozy and keeps the wind off. It gets you warm almost immediately, but it does not make me hot nor sweaty. Sporting goods stores have these & you can try before you buy. Be sure to come back here to purchase because the Columbia price is much better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful, awful, awful Waited so long to receive it and it's awful. It runs so small. Will never buy another coat online again!
Date published: 2017-02-27
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Chammi19 Disjointed in the color. It is a shiny blue-black. Doesn't look like the pic.
Date published: 2017-02-17
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm I paid attention to the "runs small" notation and went up a size and it fits perfectly. This is a very warm light weight jacket with a little length so comes down on the hips a little. Going up a size allows for a heavier sweatshirt. Well made. Love it

Rated 4 out of 5 by from nice coat very warm, bought the tradewinds gray but it's more on the light blue side

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it Had this coat for two years ! Love it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kept Me Warm in Antarctica I ordered this jacket because I work in Antarctica and the Big Red jacket they give us is just too big. My Columbia jacket was just right! It kept me warm and it was not bulky at all. It's the best cold weather jacket I own!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Issues after 6 months, broke after 1 year of light use I'm a tom-boy to the heart and therefore do not like shopping. When I do, I want stuff that lasts a long time which was why I went with Columbia. I'm pretty active outdoors, but none of my activities are extreme. This jacket was awesome until 6 months when I noticed that the zipper would come un-done once in awhile. By 1 year it was completely busted. As soon as I zip it up, the bottom comes un-zipped. I'm super disappointed in the quality of this jacket. If I spend over $100 I expect it to last. :( I'm afraid this has tainted my view of Columbia.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great jacket, but not what I was looking for Loved this jacket's color (purple dahlia) and that it was lightweight. Seemed like it would be warm enough for freezing weather if moving around. I wanted this jacket for skiing, but when ordering, I mindlessly forgot that there was no powder skirt, so had to return it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great outer layer, runs large I bought this lightweight jacket to put on during rest breaks while snowshoeing or cross-country skiing so I don't get chilled, and so far it works like a charm. Like most Columbia gear, the XS is cut very generously, with darts in front for those of you ladies who are presumably more endowed in the bosom area than me. So I can easily wear it over a baselayer, a light wool sweater, and the somewhat bulky double plush fleece jacket with room to spare. If you have a smaller build like me (I'm 5'2 and 115), I wouldn't recommend it as a stand-alone jacket -- if I don't wear layers underneath, the drawcords at the bottom don't close it up tightly enough to keep the cold air out. But as an outer layer, it does exactly what it should -- accommodate your base and middle layers while maintaining enough dead air space to trap your body heat and keep you warm. While I can't say how much the trippy space-age reflective coating on the inside contributes to the overall warmth of the jacket, I can say that the warmth to weight ratio is pretty good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features & style. Love it's Light weight and that it's not bulky. Yet very warm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warm but feathers... So far the coat has kept me warm on the few cold windy days we've had here in NYC. I am disappointed however with the fact that feathers have lardy begin coming out of the coat and I haven't even had it a good 6 months yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket! I recently bought this jacket at a local store and got a Small. I felt that it was a bit big so I ordered the XS to compare. I'm 5'3 115lbs and the XS fits perfect without being tight. There's still plenty of room for a sweater. I didn't want a bigger jacket to layer too much and take away from the heat lining. Very warm for a lightweight jacket. Definitely not bulky!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful jacket. Kept me warm in blizzard 2015 I'm 5"4 and 110-120 lbs. I ordered this in Medium, and it fits perfect!! Kept me warm in the blizzard while shoveling my car out of 6 foot snow. Awesome buy! Well worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OM Gosh I got this for my Birthday and when I got it I was so surprised this is a well made and beautiful coat! I ordered a size up This is my preference so I can layer other heavy sweaters under this stunning coat! It is very flattering and the fit is lovely! I would say order it you will not regret it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not what I expected I expected the same warmth from my previous jackets, but this one was not as I expected it to be. It looks pretty but you have to wear it in the spring or fall not durable for the winter months in the low country of SC.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm & Cozy Jacket I can't get enough of Columbia's TurboDown products. I have never had a jacket that kept me so warm. I have a knee-length version of this jacket, as well. Pretty style and colors, too.
Date published: 2015-04-11
Rated 3 out of 5 by from okay so far jacket I was disappointed with this jacket because with all the great reviews, it did not come with any inside pockets, a hood or a stuff sack which I had in my previous jacket and came to love having. The zipper also did not seem to be a double zipper or "heavy duty" one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too small Was really disappointed how it fit.
Date published: 2015-03-26
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this coat. This coat is warm without the bulk of other down jackets. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a new winter coat!
Date published: 2015-03-22
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome coat This is my first Columbia winter coat. I love it. It keeps me very warm, & we have had some very cold temps lately. The style is nice and it is very comfortable. I am very happy with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight but WARM jacket I can't say enough about this jacket. I love the insulating Omni-Heat. It is a great jacket for traveling also.
Date published: 2015-03-15
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket! Doesn't run small like they said it actually runs a little larger I wear a large I ordered a large and its kind of big but I love the jacket overall. A great purchase!!
Date published: 2015-03-11
Rated 5 out of 5 by from amazing jacket!!! I am very impressed with this jacket! It is deceivingly warm! I'm not one to wear a coat because they are so bulky, but his jacket acts like a coat without the bulk. The only complaint I have is the down feathers sometimes poke through and are itchy, but that is a minor flaw. You can just pull them out. I am very happy with the quality of jacket I got! It is very warm and fashionable, and lets you escape the cold without looking huge in a big, bulky, winter coat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from WOMEN’S GOLD 650 TURBODOWN™ DOWN JACKET I recently moved from SC to upstate NY where temperatures can reach below freezing. I must say this jacket has kept me warm! The Thermo Heat does work!
Date published: 2015-03-06
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket! I love my jacket! It's perfect for these harsh winters we've been experiencing. Super light yet extremely warm, and best of all the price is just right! I did have to order a size up (I am typically a medium, so I went with the large because of all of the other reviews and it's perfect.) I will definitely be ordering again but this time I want one with a hood.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Jacket This jacket was amazingly warm and functional! I bought this for my girlfriend as we were going to the mountains! We were in very frigid temperatures and not once did she become cold from wearing this jacket. Very recommendable!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from jacket I was very pleased with this jacket. The jacket is true to size I Love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great low profile jacket This jacket is warm in 0 degree MN weather. It is so nice to be warm and yet still be able to move freely without the bulk of a traditional coat. I love this jacket!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Inside Pocket There is no inside pocket which woman love to have for protection. I wish it had one. The men's do, why not the woman's? Also if you have a large waist this jacket will be very snug.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect jacket I LOVE my Columbia Turbo Down jacket. It's very light weight, but yet very warm. The quality is perfect as well as the fit.
Date published: 2015-02-06
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Overall Good Jacket It's very expensive for what it is...but that's just because it's a sexy design and very stylish. The pockets are very shallow and items will fall out if you do not zip them in...but then you cannot put your hands in there. Also, there is NO pockets on the inside like my other Columbia jackets have, so I have no place for my cell phone (other than the side pockets that are too small and must be zipped). So it could have been better when it comes to function and common usefulness. But it IS a good looking jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from jacket i bought this jacket in gray for my daughter for xmas. she loved it and has had a chance to wear it and stated its warm and toasty!
Date published: 2015-01-05
Rated 5 out of 5 by from good buy I love the warmth of this jacket. To be perfect, it should have an inside zippered pocket. Also the zipper is a little funky. It tends to not sit properly and then won't zip up. Perhaps they need a large toothed zipper. Otherwise nice jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best coat ever!! I love my new coat. It is soooo warm! I wear a short sleeve shirt under it when it is freezing outside and I am warm. It's the best coat I ever bought!!
Date published: 2014-11-29
Rated 4 out of 5 by from PLease make larger sizes!!!! This coat is beautiful and has an attractive fit. I'm not horribly large but I'm large busted and even the XL does not fit. I wanted this coat really bad but need a larger size.
Date published: 2014-11-16
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Marti This jacket is beautiful, but not sized accurately. A medium is closer to small and sleeve length is not for me. At 5 feet 8 1\2, the sleeves are too short. I also didn't notice the cuff style until I opened the package- not my cup of tea. My daughter who is slightly shorter than I can wear it, so I kept it. I will pay closer attention to sleeve details before ordering another jacket like this.
