Rated 4 out of 5 by 650 Turbo-Down parka This is a great garment. I have worked 25 years in the retail sporting goods business and have seen both good and otherwise and this one is near the top for layout, fit, materials, assembly and value. I bought it for my daughter who is attending CU in Boulder and she is VERY happy getting it and staying WARM. 5 Stars to Columbia!!!!! November 26, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by True to size - not small After reading reviews, I ordered a size up which is a medium. It's too big as I usually wear a small. I would have to say it is true to size. Now the only color left is silver, which is not for me. Bummer. Should have just ordered my size. I guess one of my daughters will get lucky. July 17, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Recommended AAA 100% cool but it is too large for the selected size. May 28, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love it! Love this coat! Our winters are cold and snowy and this coat kept me super warm on my walk to work everyday! I did purchase a medium because of the reviews I read. I am usually a small (4) but the medium fit perfectly, so keep this in mind when ordering! April 21, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by A warm jacket This jacket is very warm and suitable for winter. It is very light as well making it very comfortable to wear. The only problem I'm having with the jacket is the feathers are slowly coming out ever since I first purchased the jacket. April 2, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Piece Of Gear I love this jacket. I routinely wear it in the cold (-10 to 15+) and find it more than adequate when properly layered. It's stylish and the color is spectacular. Very warm. You won't regret this purchase. March 26, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Once You Get the Hooded version... You will never go back :) All puffy jackets are not created equal. A puffy coat minus the hood is a HUGE mistake. I searched far and wide and was thrilled to find this perfect coat -- light-weight, warm, stylish and great protection for the dome! March 21, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good light weight all purpose jacket I ordered this jacket when it went on sale. The women's version doesn't seem to be as puffy as the mens version. It is quite light weight so get one of the higher fill ones if you are looking for a lot of warmth. Fitted but just roomy enough for a layer or two underneath if needed. The hood and sleeves fit well. I like the soft material lining the pockets. The Tradewinds gray color is a light gray- not as dark as or silver as it looks in the picture. I would have liked there to an inside pocket or two though. March 20, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Warm, comfy and lightweight jacket I got it for the winter months but I ended up wearing it when the weather was in the upper 40s and low 50s. I was too cold with it on in freezing temperatures. It's very lightweight and really comfortable to wear. Having a hood is a plus. March 18, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Overall -- great jacket. This performance of this jacket is on-point. I am 5"3, 130 lbs, and large chested. Ordered the medium and it fits great with a large sweater underneath. Also, I get around by bicycle only and it has been wonderful for rain and cold weather. The only reason I give 4/5 stars is because the black looks totally blue to me. It's a deep blue obviously but not the same color as the zipper -- which is black. I was very disappointed in this because the aesthetic was also important to me while shopping for a functional winter jacket (lightweight, durable, warm, hood, weatherproof) but the color was big a disappointment. Be aware if that matters to you. March 18, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect winter jacket This down jacket definitely kept me warm in the snow storms in Philadelphia and New Jersey. Even kept me dry through the frigid weather at 9 degrees during the early morning 15 minute walks from the train station to work. I recommend you get the next size up as this will fit you perfect. I ordered the pink jacket, which was bright and colorful. Love this jacket!!! March 13, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing! I got this jacket a few weeks ago and it came just in time for the cold front, it's light weight, but incredibly warm, and very comfortable. I read reviews saying it ran small, but it fit me perfectly in my regular size. Would definitely recommend this product! March 13, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by love!! I got this jacket because my other cold weather coat was always tricky to get layers under. The slick material allows for many layers to fit under! Its super warm too. I live in North arkansas and it gets pretty windy and cold, it works great for temps under 10 and snow. Definitely recommend! March 12, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by winter weat I love the coat it's. Not to heavy and it's. Not to light, I reccomend going up a size as it does fit snug. I got a medium which I should have gotten a large. March 11, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product at a great price Great product!! Not even NY's -15°C could beat this jacket March 5, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Super Warm This jacket is really light, but really warm. Living in Cincinnati in Winter can be brutal, but this jacket has definitely made it better! My only complaint is that the hood doesn't have a drawstring, so you can't make it tighter. It would also be nice if it were removable. March 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Omniheat + Turbodown = :0 I bought this coat for the purpose of wearing as an everyday coat, mostly to and from work. I don't have to be out much since I park in a garage at home and work, but still want to be warm when I do! I was skeptical at first because my previous coat was down but much puffier/bulkier, but it's actually done well for how thin and lightweight it is. Fits better in my locker at work too. As I mentioned, I haven't been outside for extended periods of time in this coat so I can't compare that part and can't say how well it does for "outdoor" people, but it works for the purpose I need it for. I like that it's form-fitting and stylish but also warm. No sacrificing one for the other! I do wish it were a bit longer and covered the hips/bottom, but I knew from previous reviews that it wouldn't so I didn't count off my rating for that. I'm 5'7" and about 150 lbs and thought the medium worked well for me and was sized appropriately, although I can see how some say it might be slightly small. March 3, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by nice and warm I love this jacket. Its very warm and does exactly what it's supposed to do. March 1, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Fit & Material Not For Me The material was a bit too stiff for me and the fit of the biceps made my skinny arms look like a body builder's arms. Not too flattering. February 26, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Functional True to size lightweight & warm however, don't spend too much time in the actual cold so the weight is every convenient when going in & out of the car. My only disappointment was I was expecting the color black & received a navy blue but because I didn't want to go the hassle of returning it I kept it since customer service said navy even wasn't an option. Overall the coat serves my purpose. February 26, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for Traveling and very Warm I am a consultant so I am always on the road and I love to travel for fun and get lost in the wilderness. This jacket is extremely warm and folds up to be very small so that it is a great travel companion. Waiting for a cab at the airport isn't too terrible anymore! February 25, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic Coat I've always had trouble with winter coats being too bulky if they were warm enough OR if they were nice and slim they didn't keep me warm. This coat is the best of both worlds - slim contoured fit but keeps me toasty warm. We've had -25 temps the past 2 weeks and this coat has stood up to the test! It might feel a little thin but trust me it is SO warm! It does fit pretty true to size - it might seem a little small because it's a contoured fit but I generally wear a medium and the medium coat fit perfectly. I'm 5'3" and 145lbs and the fit is great! February 23, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great coat ! I LOVE this coat! I was shocked with how thin it was when i pulled it out of the package but it is SO warm . I ordered a size XL so I could wear layers underneath but I really could've gone with a L. The hood stays up in the wind and the pockets are super soft and cozy. I wore the coat out in a very wet snow storm today and it was perfectly water resistant and easy to move around in. The only complaint I have is that the Tradewinds Grey is a lot lighter in person than in the picture online. It's more of a silver. February 21, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing! This coat is as warm as they claim it to be. I was a little hesitant as it was so thin and light weight but it is definitely warmer than my previous coat and in the freezing temps we get around here, it sure has kept me warm. I would highly recommend it! It's just the right length as well. Not so long as I am short but long enough to cover my butt and keep the breeze from blowing up from the bottom. February 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by warm jacket I ordered a medium because the reviewers said it was small. It fits fine except for the sleeve length which is too long. It doesn't bother me too much. The lining is incredible and keeps me quite warm even in 0 degree weather with only one sweater. February 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Size smaller, quality made up Running a little small is Ok we figured that might be the case, so went next size, a little longer sleeve is welcomed, advancement in materials make a light weight coat, that isn't bulky, comfortable, it has been single digits with strong winds, don't feel it, the hood keeps heat in, we both bought 650 coats, recommend, we have both been complimented on our 650's, style and looks February 18, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by turbo down Liked this coat so much I purchased a second after my lab drug me across the pavement and ripped the first one February 18, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Coat I am very pleased with this coat. It is lighter than other winter jackets that I've had, but it keeps me just as warm! Make sure to measure yourself before ordering. I was going to get a medium but decided to go with a small after I measured myself. It fits great! The only thing this jacket is lacking are inside pockets for storage. Other than that, I am very satisfied! February 15, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by WOMEN’S GOLD 650 TURBODOWN™ HOODED DOWN JACKET I like the coat a lot and it is very warm. Almost too warm. The only problem i have with the coat is it does not have an inside top pocket. In my 3 in 1 Columbia i have an inside pocket and it is very good for security of bank cards and money. Then i dont like the hood it does not have anyway too fasten it tight to your head and blows off in the wind. The only other problem is the feathers are already coming out. I like the coat overall and it was a good buy. I guess nothing is perfect. February 12, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by CookieMom Nice coat, good sale price, my daughter likes the fitted style, the length, and it keeps her warm. One note - the inkling color is really more purple, not the blue-black color it looks to be online. Luckily my daughter was ok with purple! February 6, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Toasty jacket Warmer than expected. Have used it on the slopes both in light snow/mist as well as with an over-jacket rain shell. Stays warm even when slightly wet. When I first pulled it out of the box thought it would be too light for cold midwestern winters; not the case. Wear it by itself around town also, perfectly fine! February 6, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Thin but warm I don't like big bulky coats but I do not like to be cold. So this coat is good. The coat is very warm. I am short, not even quite 5' 2" so for me it is a little too long, it covers my butt which I don't really like, I wish there was a petite choice. I did have to order a size larger and it is still snug but that keeps the wind out. I have to have a hood because I don't like to fuss with umbrellas. Keeps me warm and dry. February 6, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Snug but that's the point The jacket IS a little more snug that other jackets I own, but I'm almost sure it's made that way so no one tries to bulk up with heavy layers and gets overheated. It fits perfectly in the shoulders and arms and slightly tight in the bust. I would recommend thin layers underneath. February 5, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best coat I've ever owed I did a ton of research on this coat. Based on what I read, it runs slightly small, so I bought an XL instead of L -that was a good move. I know people say it is very thin and they were not impressed. I admit that when I received it, I was a bit skeptical until I wore it outside for a 3 mile walk In 10 degree weather and pretty windy. I was so warm that it was almost unbearable by time I got through the first mile. I am extremely picky but this makes me happy! To those people who returned it based on the light weight/thin, I say you made a huge mistake, you should have tested it first. Seriously. January 31, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fit I love this jacket. It's very light yet warm, and the sleeves are long which is hard to find in coats. I'm 5'7", 140lbs, and the medium which I usually wear was too small. Order a size up. January 28, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Warmth without bulk Bought this coat from my 11 year-old daughter. It's more than I usually spend but it's worth every penny. Great quality. January 25, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by great buy Really like this jacket. Ordered a size larger than needed just so I can wear a sweatshirt underneath. The sleeves are pretty long, but the overall length at the waist could be longer. Very wind resistant and warm for being so thin, and I'm always cold. I'm usually a small, ordered a medium. January 5, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this jacket! I live in Seattle, Washington and in the winters, it gets pretty cold. I wanted a warmer jacket, but yet light and this jacket fulfills both. I am really satisfied with it! December 30, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Coat ever You don't feel the cold, is the best coat I've ever bought. December 21, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by best jacket ever purchased. Love my jacket. It really insulates and keeps you warm. Love the style and not heavy. Would definitely recommend. December 11, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Very different from the Pictures shown on the website The length is too short and it looks so different from the pictures shown on the website. I expected the body length was longer and able to cover the hip based on the pictures, but actually it was very short. The sleeves at the upper arms are too wide also, so the style and cutting is not good at all. Not for a regular day use if you want to look good and warm. Moreover, it's so thin and light, I wore it for 30 mins inside the house at 67F to test it, but I didn't feel it making me warm at all. I have to return it. So disappointed! The way they took the pictures was very tricky by making the sleeves shorter; so make us think the body length is longer. BTW, I didn't order a wrong size, it's just the the style and cutting of the jacket is very different from the pictures shown on Columbia's website. November 30, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Womens Gold 650 TurboDown Hooded jacket Wonderful coat! Great style. Amazingly light but very warm. Beautiful colors. I got my daughter the inkling color and it's gorgeous. I can't say enough good things about this coat! She loves it. I've bought my granddaughter Two different Columbia coats in the past and they are perfect, too. Good job! We'll be back! November 30, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by KEEPING MY DAUGHTER WARM IN CHICAGO!!! My daughter is kinda skinny maybe 105lbs soaking wet lol. Anyway she says even on 20 degree days she's very warm n she's always cold. Awesome jacket so I bought me one n my wife too. Best investment for this cold Chicago weather. November 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by this product has great features Great coat! Omni heat turbo down is the way to go. Its light weight and is true to its word. Keeps the cold , wind, rain &snow away. U stay warm without all the heaviness. Only cold I felt was on my face. Looks great. October 31, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great jacket! I ordered this jacket for regular winter use. I ordered a small in color Inkling. The color in the picture looks less purple than it actually is. I was hoping it was more of a dark blueish purple but it's purple. I don't mind that it's purple though, it's actually a nice color. I'm about 5'4, 115lbs and ordered a small. It fits perfect. The jacket is thinner than I expected but it is very warm. I wouldn't suggest it for skiing or snow sports, it's not heavy enough. But it's good for regular winter use. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is bc it's thinner than I would like. October 31, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by LOVE this coat! I want to say that I LOVE this coat. The color (Blue) is very bright and vibrant. I took all the measurements it suggested to find my size and I ordered a medium. The length of the sleeves and the size through the abdomen is perfect, but I feel the length of the actual coat is a little short. I am 5'8", 135lbs and I probably would've been better off with a large due to the length itself. I will keep this one, but if I would've known the length of the coat, I probably would've chosen the large. I still LOVE this coat and look forward to it keeping me warm this winter #I live in Minnesota - BRRR# October 22, 2014
