MOST AMAZING JACKET!!! I LOVE THIS JACKET!!! I live in Wisconsin and spend a lot of time outdoors. This jacket keeps me warm even in subzero degrees. It is also great in warmer weather when the seasons are changing due to the breathability of the jacket. I also feel that is looks great on me and it is very lightweight is not bulky at all. Perfect AND Glamorous I love this jacket. It's very light in weight so the warmth it provides is surprising. This item fits well and is figure flattering. Takes a few days to break in. Neck closure is close to neck and no scarf is necessary, yet there is enough space to wear one with the zipper down just a bit. I highly recommend. April 2, 2013
Love This Coat It's not very often that I take the time to write a review, but I have to share how much I LOVE this coat! My husband bought a coat from Columbia with the Omni-heat and I loved how warm it kept me so I decided to buy one for myself. This coat keeps me very warm and dry. This particular coat is bulky, but is perfect for wind, cold, snow and rain. And it's super fabulously cute. It does run a bit small, glad I ordered a size larger to accommodate larger clothes underneath. February 22, 2013

Outer fabric too stiff I felt mummified in the Jacket even though it was very warm because of the Omni Heat lining. If the ourter fabric had been of the same material as the 'Shimmer0M-Timbers' jacket, I would have kept it. January 21, 2013
Great winter jacket! I love this jacket! Unlike other reviewers, this jacket has kept me warm down to 10 degrees F (I haven't been out when it was colder than that) with the Chicago winds blowing on me. I think the key to staying warm is to make sure you tighten the waist and adjust the cuffs in addition to zipping it up. It also help to wear even a thin sweater underneath. However, I think it's way to warm to wear if it's above 40 degrees F even if you have it unzipped.I also think this is one of the cutest winter jackets around! Since it's so thin it doesn't add a lot of bulk and on my 5'0" frame it almost looks like a little coat dress. I get a lot of compliments on it! I would recommend this jacket to everyone I know! Stands up to the Windy City This jacket is AMAZING. I got it about 2 1/2 weeks ago but waited until I could wear it out in some notorious Chicago winter weather to write this... this morning it was 12 degrees, with a windchill of 3 degrees (not as cold as it can get, but pretty typical for this time of year). With a fleece on underneath, I was toasty warm while walking the dog (20-30 min walks). It's super lightweight, very movable and not at all bulky. It also does a great job of blocking the wind.The hood is just the right depth to block wind but not your peripheral vision. It also stays put. The drawstring is good, but is a little hard to work if your hands are coldThis jacket is good at blocking the wet weather - rain/snow just beads up.Fit-wise, I wasn't sure if I should get a small or medium...opted for the small. It is a slim fit, but I can wear a thick fleece or a couple layers underneath and still move easily and don't feel constricted. It's also a flattering silhouette - curving in a bit at the waist so you don't look like a giant marshmallow. I'm 5'4" and it hits me mid-thigh - I wouldn't mind if it were a few inches longer, but it's long enough to cover my backside while walking the dog, waiting for the train or in the car.I highly recommend this jacket, especially if you live cold weather climates. Runs small. I wish they made an XXL as I would like to be able to wear it. I usually wear an XL with plenty of room to spare, but that was not the case with this coat. It was very tight across the shoulders and although it zipped up, it was tight in the body. The reason I put excellent for quality and function is because my daughter purchased this coat and absolutely loves it. She normally wears an XS and sized up to a S and it fits her perfectly. Overall very nice, but fiddly zipper I'm 5' 5" and 130 lb. and usually wear a size 8 or 10 in other brands. The Medium coat is just the right size for wearing with a knit shirt underneath. I think it would be too tight in the shoulders and chest with heavier clothing on. I love the interior drawcord, but it could be a little lower (at the waistline rather than at the bottom of the ribcage). The coat is very warm and has a nice shape. The sleeves are very long; almost too long for me, and I have long arms! My main complaint is that the two-way zipper is fiddly. It usually takes a me few tries to get the zipper undone at the bottom. January 14, 2013

Not as warm as expected I was disappointed in this coat which I purchased based on heavy advertising for the reflective lining.Living in Seattle, I expected this coat toi be very adequate for our generally temperate climate but found it to be just too thin and flimsy to combat even 30 F weather. odd fit I really wanted to like this jacket. Like many have said, it does run very true to size if not a little small. I ordered the M which fit a little snug in my current 4 mo preg body - 5ft 4in 155lbs but I think would be perfect at 150lbs.I had the same problem as someone else, the hips on this jacket really bell out when it is unzipped and that is why I choose to return it. Cute zipped up, but came too far away from the body when unzipped.Also, we have a yellow lab and the fur really stuck to the fabric which I did not want to have to deal with. Definitely worth the money! I have been "in the hunt" for a 1) warm; 2) lightweight; 3) mid-length; 4) must have a hood coat/jacket for a long time. I didn't want to spend the money on some o f the other puffers out there because they were "shiny" and a little space suit looking. After reading the reviews, I did buy a size up because I wanted to wear layers underneath. I'm 5'4" and a size 4-6, but I bought the Medium and I'm glad I did. The shoulders seem a little narrow, but the length is perfect (almost to the knee). It's also fairly light. I wore this coat in the pouring rain and I stayed dry and warm. For folks my size who don't want to wear layers, a small would probably work but you may have trouble moving your arms. The medium doesn't look bulky and feels great on (not like it's oversized). Great Winter Coat I was a bit hesitant to order a winter coat without first seeing the coat, but I went ahead and placed the order. I am pleased that I did. The coat is very warm, but it is lightweight and not bulky. Warm and very flattering I bought this coat for winter in Chicago and it definitely gets the job done! It's too warm for me to wear when it's 40 or above, so this is not for mild winters. I'm 5'2 and 108 pounds and an XS fits but is snug. You can adjust the waist to make it looser or tighter, which is perfect because I can pull it in for a fitted look or loosen it if I want to pack some layers underneath. I do wish the hood had a string to tighten it with, but that's my only complaint. It has ample pocket space, is lightweight, and covers my butt and upper thighs. December 9, 2012

Minnesota Winter Approved I'm 5'8" and 125lbs, with somewhat broad shoulders and 34B chest. I first ordered the medium because other reviewers said to order a size up. The medium fit me fine in the shoulders and sleeves, but everywhere else was too big. I couldn't believe how much the coat darts out from the waist. The coat made me look like I had very large hips, which I do not. In the past, I've had a hard time finding coats with arms that are long enough and this coat had arms that were almost too long in the medium! I then ordered a size small and this definitely fits better. The shoulders are a bit more tight than the medium, but still comfortable. The arm length is perfect and the coat is more form fitted. I've only worn the coat once in 30 degree weather and stayed warm while walking my dog. December 9, 2012

As advertised I was searching for a winter coat that would keep me warm during below freezing temperatures and during snow storms. This product definitely delivers. I purchased this item from the Columbia website and had it delivered. It is very lightweight and overall thinner than I imagined based on the picture on the website however it keeps you incredibly warm! The lining was a surprise to me as I thought based on the look of it that it would feel more like silk or satin and it does not but the technology advertised does work - it keeps you very warm without having to wear bulky sweaters or even too many layers. Great for cold-climate dwellers I live in MN, so I'm always looking for new ways to stay warm. This coat really does the trick for those sub-freezing or sub-zero days. The omni-heat is pretty effective -- so much so that the coat is too hot to wear on a 40 degree day.Also, I really love that there are little toggles on the inside of the coat that let you cinch in the waist area a bit. It adds a little shape to the coat so that I look less like a marshmallow. (Although realistically when it's -30 in January I'm really not going to care about my figure.) November 16, 2012
pictures a bit misleading... i have the same concern as poicahue. i received this jacket in sea salt as a gift and although i love it. i'm concerned about the color on the inside collar is light blue and not reflecting the ligh gray color in the pictures. did anyone else have this same problem? I LOVE my coat! I looked all season for a longer down coat. One that would cover my butt and still look good. Ordered and returned 2 different companies coats because I didn't like the way they fit and looked. This one fits perfectly and I think looks great. I am 5'6" and 140 ordered a large and I love it. Was reluctant about the hood but it turned out to be a non issue and the coat is very warm March 10, 2012
Great coat but a little warmer than expected This down jacket is really great. I've worn it for a few weeks now and I've yet to see one feather poke out. It is a little shorter than I expected (being barely 5'4" nothing is short on me) but it covers about 1/2 my thighs and does the job. I ordered Medium which fits great. I'm fairly busty but it fits great. Definitely slimmer looking than the other "puffy coats" out there.My one qualm: it's almost too warm. I'm an unusually warm person so I've hesitated buying a down jacket but this winter the Chicago winds seem stronger than ever and frankly I've been cold. Wearing this coat, I haven't felt the gusty winds at all but I've also been a little too warm. Running errands in this coat is a terrible idea - in and out of stores is too warm. I cannot wear this coat under 30 degrees and even then, I can't wear my other winter gear: hat, scarf, gloves, etc. Still an amazing coat but if you're not careful, the "omni-heat" technology will bake you. Warm and stylish coat for NW Soccer Moms This is the first long down coat I purchased to withstand soccer games and track meets in the cold and rain. I don't care for the puffy "Michelin Man" look of most down coats and was drawn to the attractive stitching pattern of this coat as well as the water-repellant nature of the shell.Overall this is a warm and attractive coat that is not bulky, yet keeps me warm when standing outside for 1-2 hours and I am very happy with it. I would only love to add a fur trim on the hood.What I love:The omni-heat liningThe overall warmth and comfortThe sleek/slim fit and stitchingThe pockets placement and zipsThe compliments I receive when wearing itRoom for improvement:In a strong wind (up at Timberline) the hood doesn't stay taught on my head and there is not enough visor hanging over forehead to shield from the sun, wind, or sleet/rain (or maybe a fur trim would help here).Would like fleece trim up around the neck/top of zipper that is removable and washable for when lipstick or make-up gets on it. Just being practical here.A tad more definition at the waistline would be nice. Even though strings are pulled, it is not visible from outside of coat.An inch longer would be good to cover the back of my legs when sitting on a cold bench. Commuters Dream I bought this jacket because my North Face long puffy jacket was too large because I recently lost a lot of weight. When I tried on the smaller North Face I realized how PUFFY it was in general and decided to look elsewhere. I saw someone walk by with this jacket on and fell in love. I looked all over for it and couldn't find it in any stores so I found it online and kept my fingers crossed that it would fit and wasn't too puffy. When it arrived in the mail I was thrilled. It fits perfect, I don't look like the state puff marshmallow man in it and it keeps me nice and warm in the freezing cold as I wait outside for the train every day and walking to work in downtown Boston. Jacket I was disapointed with fit of this jacket. It doesn't have much shape to it. There is a drawcord in the inside to cinch the waist in but all it does is draw in the liner and not the outside of the coat so pretty pointless. January 6, 2012
Hexbreaker I was hoping this would be a warmer coat, went to a football game and was still cold. I also wish I purchased a larger size as I wasn't able to wear layers. If you plan on wearing layers order size up otherwise it will be tight in the shoulders. It also rained at the game and the coat protected me from the rain except in the sleeves, the water soaked through.I stll like the coat. January 5, 2012
Awsome Product My college student asked for this for Christmas. She was over the moon to get it. It fits in a very flattering way and is not bulky one bit, but is SO warm. She attends school where they get major lake effect snow and blowing winds and she walks everwhere. She's toasty warm in it. And she's looking good. In jeans and dress boots or in professional attire, it's the pefect winter selection. We chose black and can pair it with any color scarf or set of gloves, depending on the occasion. But the other color choices were tough to pass up. This will carry her through grad school and into her career as a teacher very nicely. A wise investment.Note: If you are looking for something that you can wear over a bulky sweater or sweatshirt, order one size larger than you normally wear. This item is more on the fitted size - that is why we love it - it's so flattering to the body. But the Large seems to fit more like a medium so just make sure you go up a size if you think you want to layer clothing under it (even though you won't need to).S. Roomy enough to lift my arms to scrape ice off of the windshield of my SUV. Great winter coat I wanted something warm and not too bulky. The jacket is very lightweight for a winter coat. So far it has kept me warm, although I have not yet worn it in extremely frigid temps. I like the fit - slim, and it is not difficult to move around in. Zips up from bottom which is great for commuting. I would recommend if you are between sizes to order a size up, especially if you tend to wear several layers underneath. December 14, 2011
perfect everyday winter jacket! I bought an omni-heat interchange jacket last year and loved it. This year I wanted a longer jacket for more coverage and I laid my eyes on this one. Well, when I finally decided to buy it, it was totally sold out online, even the webpage is gone! I tried the outlet stores but no luck. Of course when it was back online I immediately bought it. It has so far met all my expectations: it's super light and warm and still shows some curve (and there is an elastic cord at waist that you can adjust); it doesn't look very active yet it's simple and stylish. About the sizing, I'm 5'4'' and about 105 lbs, columbia xs is the regular size for me. This one fits very well, actually pretty tight, I can only wear a soft shell in it.AlsoI didn't have the problem with one of the reviewers who received what seemed to be an older version. Comfy WARM coat I needed a coat that will keep me warm and dry while walking my dog in the winter in the Seattle area. I am from Chicago, so comparatively it isn't that cold here, but it is when you are out walking for long periods of time at night and when it is wet it is very cold. I originally bought the Liberty Concourse, but didn't think it would keep me warm enough. This coat does the trick. I just took it out for it's maiden dog walk and was warm as toast. Very impressed. Not real bulky which is nice, but very warm. Perfect length, not too long and not too short. I am 5"5". This coat fits true to size. I have broad shoulders so almost always need large coats. Different color from the picture I am not completely satisfied.I receiveid a jacket that is different of the one I choose.The article is the same but the color not.On the web page the inside color of the neck seem to be gray.I RECEIVED ONE THAT THE INSIDE COLOUR OF THE NECK AND THE HOOD IS LIGHT BLUE, AND I DON'T LIKE IT.On Amazon and other pages , with a better price, the picture shown has a light blue inside the neck and the hood, just the same I recived from you. But on yours was like gray. That was important for me, and that was why I ordered it to you although it was expensive.SO, YOUR PICTURE ON WEB SHOW A DIFFERENT THING OF WHAT I RECIVED.I am a foreing and was a week on vacation on Miami, and thought shopping on line could save me time and let me have more options, but I am not happy with the results. Sizing Chart Misleading I ordered an XS because the sizing chart states that a XS is 2-4. The coat is wonderful, great color, feels winter-worthy. But the XS felt like an XXS. I am substituting for a S. Keep in mind that you'll probably be wearing sweaters underneath! October 15, 2011
great coat fits true to size and looks very feminine because of the cinched waist which I love! I ordered the gun metal color because I needed a change from black and brown and I am very happy with it! Coat is good quality. Have yet to test out it's warmth but just from wearing it in the house it seems like it will be a warm winter coat. Gave 4 stars because I wish it had a removable hood and would be happier if the coat was a couple inches longer to protect my legs from the cold. October 1, 2011
Nice coat, hope its great in winter I just ordered this coat to take overseas for the year. Unfortunately I had to purchase it in the summer and have not had the chance to wear it in the rain, snow or cold, but I think it will be great. I have had 2 previous coats from Columbia and loved them all, so I have high hopes! How to measure
- Chest/Bust: Measure at the fullest part of the chest, under the armpits and over the shoulder blades, keeping the tape measure firm and level.
- Waist: Measure around natural waistline, allowing tape measure to sit comfortably.
- Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips.
- Sleeves: Start at the center back of your neck and measure across the shoulder to the elbow and down to the the wrist. Round up to the next even number.
- Inseam: Measure from the top of the interior leg to the bottom of the ankle.
