Rated 5 out of 5 by love it! It definitely keeps me warm! also, very stylish. April 29, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product I needed a lighter weight jacket for Chicago's spring and this one does the trick! It's a beautiful design, very light and keeps me warm even if I am wearing a t-shirt underneath. April 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by So comfortable I love this jacket. I just wore it all over NYC and it was perfectly comfortable and warm enough. I've even worn it spring skiing in CO. So soft! April 15, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Gorgeous jacket I bought this jacket in white and it's perfect. the fit, the styling, the material all are exceptional. I received many compliments the first day i wore it. I would highly recommend it!!! April 7, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Just the jacket I was looking for Great light weight jacket for chilly spring or fall weather. Also it does not pick up dog hair like fleece jackets which is a plus. Love this jacket! April 6, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by declining product quality When i first purchased this jacket I loved it and it functioned very well until now. I was out getting coffee with a friend, as I left the coffee shop I looked down and found a rip in my jacket's exterior on the pocket. I ran into nothing, didn't take scissors or any sharp objects near it; I only wore it, took it off and put it on a chair, and then put it back on, but somehow it ripped during these simple tasks. I've trusted this brand for great outdoor wear that lasts, but this product has changed my mind about your brand as it doesn't stand up to simple everyday wear. I looked into the warranty and was told to send it in only to have it returned to me unfixed because "garment is not defective due to workmanship or materials" all that I got was a coupon for something else at 20% off. My problem is that if these flimsy materials aren't defective then your product quality has seriously declined and I will spend my money elsewhere because 20% off of poor quality is still a waste of my money. Rated 4 out of 5 by In-between sizes I loved the weight and color of this jacket, but the fit was a problem. The L was a little bulky, and the M was too tight across the chest/shoulders. Sadly, I had to return both sizes. March 15, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by This jacket is great! I have been looking for a new winter jacket for a couple years now, so I looked into Columbia! I am very satisfied with my purchase! I wanted something warm but I didn't want the bulk. This fit my needs perfectly! The omni-heat is great and keeps me warm and it's light and comfortable with no bulk. It runs small though. I weigh about 115 pounds and 5'3" where usually I would buy a small but as I read other reviews I ordered a size up. It fits great except the arms are a little long but nothing that can't be tolerated. I plan on purchasing another one for a family member next year! Overall great product! March 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love it! I'm absolutely in love with this jacket but I do have some suggestions that might improve the jacket if they change the design and release it again next year. The design is more feminine and unique than your average down jacket and the omni-heat is super warm. I like the ashy faux-fur on the inside of the collar and the thumb loops at the wrist. While the jacket is warm, it's not heavy enough for serious winter weather. It's thin enough that it would be great under a ski jacket and light enough that with a base layer or fleece underneath it's fine for running errands on your average winter day. To give you an idea, I'm about 5'10" and 130lbs. Because I'm tall and slender, I find that the length isn't exactly right for me and if it weren't for the added length in the sleeve that comes from the thumb loops themselves, the sleeves wouldn't be long enough for me. The collar is also a weird height when it's up. It hits me about mid-chin. I don't know if this is the case with everyone or if this is because my neck is long. I wish the jacket came in tall to correct for some of these issues, but that being sad, I'd buy this jacket again in a heart beat if this one wore out (even without the added length). March 9, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not fitted like the picture looks This coat is very thin and I didn't like the style. The picture looks very nice so I ordered an XS for someone who is 5"1" and 90 lbs. This coat is not fitted like it says and it was still to big and long. Also, the style of the coat doesn't look like the picture. It's actually very thin and and the top half of the front and back have "feather" like openings that just isn't my style. March 6, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome! I have this jacket for the last five years, but showing a little wear (white). I have never owned such a light weight jacket that keeps you warm in the coldest of winters. Wore it up north in snow and below 0 degrees without any problems at all. It washes and drys with out loosing its warmth and looks. Hopefully, they will continue making this jacket with the Omni Heat. I also ordered the Mighty Lite and it got me through this winter with the same results. I highly recommend the Kaleidaslope™ II or the Mighty Lite to anyone. It goes through cool springs, cold cold winters and chilly falls. March 3, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect. Very light (non bulky) and warm. March 3, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by pocket snags This jacket fir great and was super-warm on the slopes in Colorado even thought it is so light weight and thin. The only thing that could be improved is the zipper pockets at waist area kept getting snagged on the interior fabric. When skiing with gloves, it became a little annoying to have to pull at the fabric to get zippered pockets open or closed. March 2, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Jacket!!! Perfect for travel I'm 5'8" 140 lbs and ordered a medium. (I have lightly wide shoulder, but slim build with long arms). I usually can wear a small, but wanted to be able to put a light sweater under the jacket. This jacket fits perfect. I love the cut that is very flattering. Perfect for traveling as it's super light, but warm. The lining along the neck is very cozy. Would buy again!!! March 2, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love it! After reading several reviews that stated this coat runs small, I couldn't decide which size to get. I ended up ordering the size I normally wear and it fits perfect. I'm 5'2" and 117 pounds and I ordered a small. I received it in time to get through two Michigan blizzards and it has kept me warm enough with a sweatshirt, sweater or long sleeve tee shirt underneath. Because it is lightweight, it also transitions well to the warm-ups that occur in the afternoon. I love the length, as it covers the rear and accommodates some longer styles of clothing. March 2, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Warm, pretty, feminine fit and functional! I love the fit and flair of this jacket. I purchased the grey color and love the shade, kind of a dressy silver, but of course functional, warm, lightweight abs built for performance. February 29, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Kaladeislope jacket I'm very happy with this coat, love how light it is but is very warm! February 28, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this jacket!!! Just received the jacket this week but love it. It is true to size. Looks very nice and is super warm. The price was great for the quality of this jacket. Would highly recommend this product to anyone. February 26, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by LOVE It's lightweight but warm and I LOVE IT...I think the arms runs large, but not a bad thing when you want to layer under the coat!! February 25, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Nice but not what I was hoping I was looking for a coat to be my main winter coat in Indiana, but it isn't going to be warm enough on its own, so looks like I'll have to return it. I loved the furry collar, it was so soft. The Omni-heat definitely makes it warmer than you would think for being so thin. The mineshaft color was awesome. I didn't notice from the pictures, but the front of the coat has these flappy little layers that I worry would catch on things. In the pictures online it looks like they are just seams, but they aren't sewn down. The fit of the coat didn't work for me, and I could have probably gone down a size because it flares out at the bottom and without a drawstring to tighten I'm sure it would be pretty cold and drafty. This would make a decent Fall/Spring coat or for somewhere with mild winters, however it just doesn't cut it as a Winter coat for my climate. February 23, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best. Jacket. Ever! I had this jacket for many years in a beautiful color they no longer make (wine/burgundy) and absolutely loved it! It was my every day jacket & never made me too hot, but also remains incredibly warm (even for Colorado snowy weather). Great quality & the lining around the neck makes it unique & cute too -- I got regular compliments on it. It also washed well in the washing machine on cold (I didn't dry it) and the shape or material never warped. When looking for a replacement (because I lost mine eventually somewhere between skiing, hiking, or traveling) I spent a lot of time trying on many, many comparable jackets in well-known outdoor brands. At the end of the day I had to come back to purchasing this one again. It's just the best all-around jacket. It fits well (not too snug/not baggy -- I'm 5'5'', 138 lbs. and the "M" size is perfect), fits my warmth criteria, & I know it's durable. I got the "Mineshaft" color this time even though I wasn't 100% sure how the color would look in person, but it's beautiful! And the lowest price I found was on this website too, so another reason why I'm writing the review here. Hope this helps! February 20, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good all season jacket! Order one size up. I ordered this a size larger than my typical size so that I had plenty of room with sweaters and layering that happens during winter dressing. The jackets fits well and allows some extra room. The silver dot lining really does help keep me quite warm. I wore the jacket on a recent trip to Nashville and found myself getting hot if I had it on inside for more than a few minutes. I was toasty warm outside even though it was 37 degrees. Recommend one size larger. I owned one in my size before and it was a bit too snug for winter dressing. February 17, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awsome light weight jacket Let me start by saying I own a nice collection of Columbia jackets. This jacket arrived yesterday when our weather was 25 with wind chill of 20. I ventured out to stand in the sleet and I must say I was surprised at how well it help up, I was cool after about 15 min., but not cold. An hour later the winds picked up, still sleet, and temps dropped a few degrees. I layered a fleece under to take out the dog. I was toasty warm. This morning 25 and rain, put this jacket under my raincoat and it was the perfect match for the elements. Given respect to the jacket, it is meant to be layered with the interchange system if one would feel that need to be warmer. For anyone expecting this jacket to go into the freezing temps by itself layers would be very important. Everyone feels the cold differently so the interchange system in my opinion is awesome. ** I did have to size up on the jacket.** February 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Warm despite weight Looked so cute , but thin! Feared I would freeze while skiing but was really perfect! Warmth without bulk! I must also add I was in lots of Colorado "dry cold" but this jacket was a winner. February 13, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by All time favorite jacket! I absolutely love this jacket! I've had mine for about three years and it still looks great. Warmest jacket I've ever owned, keeps the wind chill out, and my hands even stay nice and toasty within the pockets. It's great for all the walking I do around campus on cold days, but once your inside you might be too toasty! Anyone that has complimented my jacket I alway tell them about how amazing it is and how they NEED to buy one. February 11, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Women's Kaleidaslope™ II Jacket 5 Stars! My wife loves it! I bought one after seeing that one of our customers left it in a rental car. When I saw it I liked the quality and thought my wife would like it. She is active and outdoorsy, so it fits right into her lifestyle when coupled with the quality and style. January 30, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this jacket This is the second Kaleidaslope II jacket I've bought. I like the fit and the look of the jacket--most short light jackets have a horizontal or vertical design to it, but I think the chevron look is much nicer. The soft collar lining is wonderful, the sleeves are long enough (many women's jackets are too short in the arms for me), the lining makes this lightweight jacket extremely warm, and the cuff liners are handy. I wear the jacket outside, of course, but also indoors during winter in place of a fleece jacket, because it's less bulky. It's easy to pack, and easy to wear as a layer under a long coat. I think it's a fantastic product. January 27, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Warm I was a little shocked when I opened the package and felt how thin the coat was; however, this is one of the warmest coats I've ever owned. I absolutely love it! January 25, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love it This is one of the best jackets I ever own, I live in San Francisco where is not that cold but is windy, this jacket is very light and very warm due to the Omni heat thermal material. It's a great jacket! January 23, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this Great product very light, comfortable, kept me very warm and was never in a cold sweat. Didn't itch at all didn't feel bulky and you can throw it in the dryer amongst the many products i bought here. I was hoping these products would be able to be in the dryer but it wasn't mentioned on the website (which i think Columbia should state it would change people's considerations on what to buy), so super easy to wash. January 23, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great jacket Very light weight and super warm January 21, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfortable Jacket I bought this jacket to go skiing in Colorado. I read a lot of reviews before I chose and purchased this jacket so I expected it to be a little thin, but not as thin as it actually is. Surprisingly, I never got cold while skiing, but I always had 3-4 layers on (including the jacket). At times I would feel a slight breeze at the bottom of my jacket but nothing too bad. The high collar is nice and the inner pocket is very useful for your lift pass or phone. It is pretty true to size. I am 5'10 and 150lbs with a long torso so while I fit in medium clothes, I normally order a size up in jackets just for better movement and for the length. So I ordered a large and it was perfect. A little big if I just wanted to wear one shirt under it, but it was great for layering. I never felt constricted by this jacket and it is so lightweight. January 20, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Pretty and flattering I really, really want to keep this jacket because it fits my body so well. I am 5'8" and weigh 143lbs. I'm not thick but am tall and have long arms. I ordered the small but it won't work for me. I could use more length in the jacket itself and the sleeve length. The thumb hole cuffs are not as stretchy and giving as others I've worn so I can't make it work for me. I did expect it to be a little thicker. The color is so pretty! So I am sad I can't keep it. I could order a medium but not sure if I will. My recommendation to Columbia: start providing a tall section for women. I know some other cold weather gear companies competing with Columbia already do. January 15, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great jacket! I love how light it is. Normally I wear a small and that does fit but form fitting snug. I was worried the jacket may not be warm enough so wanting room for an extra layer (fleece or down sweater) I ordered the medium and it was just right. I was right to want an extra layer cause below 32 the jacket on its own would not be warm enough unless I'm very active in it. It would be nice to have a chest pocket and I wish the interior of the hand pocket were fleece lined and not that snaggy type of fabric. I would have given it 5 stars if it were warmer. January 14, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Jacket I bought this in Mineshaft. It is a cute color. The jacket is very warm. I like the thumb holes so the sleeves are long and does not let air in. January 14, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Jacket Great jacket!! Light weight but VERY warm. I ordered Mineshaft, very versatile color. I have received many compliments on it. January 13, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by You are going to want to size up I LOVE this jacket. My sister got it for me for Christmas because her and my mom have two each and I was getting super jealous ;). I am 5'5" 125 lbs and she got me a medium. This is a great go to jacket that is not bulky. Perfect for driving around and doing errands. If the weather is under 30 degrees and you are going to be out awhile you might want to layer underneath. You will want to size up so that you can do so. This jacket will work under the 3 Point Interchange shells. But really it is lightweight and slim enough to fit under any shell. My only complaint it that I wish it had a hood. Other than that you will find yourself reaching for this one from fall to spring. December 29, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Christmas Gift Hit 1 Better Half loves it. 'Nuff said! December 25, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome Jacket!!! This jacket went beyond my expectations. It's light, comfortable and stylish. The length is perfect. I bought the mineshaft color...love it! The thumb hole is wonderful...I can wear a pair of gloves while my thumb is in the hole. The "hole sleeve" is sewn into the garment arm far enough past the wrist to allow a glove to fit over...great feature! It's warm...i don't need to wear anything heavier than a long sleeve shirt and I'm comfortable walking/hiking around 30 degrees F. Hasn't gotten any cooler yet but I sure it will be great. Can't say enough. I bought a medium...usually I wear between a 4-6. Fits snug. You may need to go up a size if you intend on wearing a heavy sweater. November 6, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Version 1 I purchased this jacket's first version in 2010 or so. I got it for two reasons. First, I needed to be warm while looking cute on campus. Most girls wouldn't dress warm because it meant wearing a big puffy jacket. This jacket fools. It is extremely warm, but also very thin. It was perfect to pack when I went to England because it didn't take up much space in my suitcase. The second reason was because I do a lot of night jogs, dog walking, and am overall pretty active. I do not tolerate the cold and so I needed something that could keep up with me and my activity. I hardly got sweaty, and when I did, just unzipping slightly would fix that immediately. The negatives: you won't know until you get the jacket, but maintaining it is a pain in the booty. It cannot be bleached, dry cleaned, washed with cold water only, no fabric softener, requires delicate cycle, and if you dare put it in the dryer, it has to be little to no heat. With this said, i'm sure you can imagine how hard it was to keep my white jacket clean. As in, it never was. Additionally, the jacket was super warm for the first 2 years-which is nice-but after that you'll find that the "dots" rub off. My jacket is quite old now, but there is no omniheat lining left in it. If I spend this kind of money on something, I expect it to last. The jacket does fine against wind still, but not snowy weather. Things to keep in mind when you buy this: The darker the color, the better. Understand that this investment is only for a year or two. This jacket is easy to travel with and does not have a bulky look to it, keeping you looking fashion blog ready. October 20, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Freakin' Awesome! I bought this on sale during the summer and have just had a chance to test it out as the morning temps with wind chill have dipped below 0C (32F). This jacket keeps my core nice and warm while cycling in these chilly temps. October 13, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice Jacket Four friends tried this jacket on - we all loved the style but it ran very small on every one of us. Also - didn't realize the "chevrons" on the front and back were actual "flaps" - not just stitching... September 14, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by great jacket Love this jacket! It so light weight but I can wear it comfortably up to -15 degrees Celsius with a sweater underneath. Gets me tho most of the winter. August 27, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Paper thin I expected this jacket to be a little thicker. I think I can probably wear it for early winter when the temp is in the high 50's but probably not when it's colder. June 24, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Replacing my old coat I already owned this coat and had finally worn out the elbows. It had white stuffing coming out after several years of owning it. So I finally purchased the exact same one to replace it. I love this coat. I have Raynauld's so love the omni-heat to keep me warm. It can keep me warm without being a big or bulky coat. I can also wear it as a light jacket if needed. I would have loved it in the purple color but only the black was on sale. June 12, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Athletic - MUST HAVE.. I'm in LUV with this jacket...Great for running!! February 26, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Totes needs a hood I was surprised by how light the jacket was, but after wearing it, it is very warm and toasty. I really just wish it had a hood. The tall collar keeps your neck warm, but when it's literally snowing, a hood would be really beneficial. Other than that I LOVE this jacket. *with the size, I bought a small in a Columbia vest, and a small in the jacket and the fit is very similar and both fit ideally. February 25, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by I LOVE this jacket! I was skeptical when I bought this jacket because it is so light and I was looking for a warm winter jacket because I like in the midwest and walk outside to get around. I even made sure at the store I bought it if the jacket didn't do all it promised that I could bring it back. I LOVE this coat! I hate being bundle up and it has no bulk at all. I also wear a backpack and that was another criteria for wanted a coat with little bulk. This jacket has keep me comfortable in 0 degree weather with hat, gloves and scarf and as comfortable in 30-40 without being too hot. I bought the jacket just a little bit big for me and although I have found it unescessary, I can comfortably layer a fleece under this jacket and BAM! February 20, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by 1chic This is the second jacket I have purchased, enjoying both. They keeps me warm, sometimes when in a car, too warm. It is light weight, fits perfectly. Would purchase more, but I think 2 are enough. February 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Lightweight and VERY warm! My 14 year old daughter wore this jacket while snow tubing in 20 degree weather and it kept her very warm with only a tee shirt underneath. She loves the furry collar against her neck. I chose a medium for her. She is about 5'7" and 110 lbs with a 36" chest. A small would have fit a bit slimmer but she prefers a looser fit. The jacket is very lightweight and thin but very, very warm. I would highly recommend this jacket. January 23, 2015
