Rated 5 out of 5 by Women's Kaleidaslope™ II Jacket 5 Stars! My wife loves it! I bought one after seeing that one of our customers left it in a rental car. When I saw it I liked the quality and thought my wife would like it. She is active and outdoorsy, so it fits right into her lifestyle when coupled with the quality and style. January 30, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this jacket This is the second Kaleidaslope II jacket I've bought. I like the fit and the look of the jacket--most short light jackets have a horizontal or vertical design to it, but I think the chevron look is much nicer. The soft collar lining is wonderful, the sleeves are long enough (many women's jackets are too short in the arms for me), the lining makes this lightweight jacket extremely warm, and the cuff liners are handy. I wear the jacket outside, of course, but also indoors during winter in place of a fleece jacket, because it's less bulky. It's easy to pack, and easy to wear as a layer under a long coat. I think it's a fantastic product. January 27, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Warm I was a little shocked when I opened the package and felt how thin the coat was; however, this is one of the warmest coats I've ever owned. I absolutely love it! January 25, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love it This is one of the best jackets I ever own, I live in San Francisco where is not that cold but is windy, this jacket is very light and very warm due to the Omni heat thermal material. It's a great jacket! January 23, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this Great product very light, comfortable, kept me very warm and was never in a cold sweat. Didn't itch at all didn't feel bulky and you can throw it in the dryer amongst the many products i bought here. I was hoping these products would be able to be in the dryer but it wasn't mentioned on the website (which i think Columbia should state it would change people's considerations on what to buy), so super easy to wash. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great jacket Very light weight and super warm January 21, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfortable Jacket I bought this jacket to go skiing in Colorado. I read a lot of reviews before I chose and purchased this jacket so I expected it to be a little thin, but not as thin as it actually is. Surprisingly, I never got cold while skiing, but I always had 3-4 layers on (including the jacket). At times I would feel a slight breeze at the bottom of my jacket but nothing too bad. The high collar is nice and the inner pocket is very useful for your lift pass or phone. It is pretty true to size. I am 5'10 and 150lbs with a long torso so while I fit in medium clothes, I normally order a size up in jackets just for better movement and for the length. So I ordered a large and it was perfect. A little big if I just wanted to wear one shirt under it, but it was great for layering. I never felt constricted by this jacket and it is so lightweight. January 20, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Pretty and flattering I really, really want to keep this jacket because it fits my body so well. I am 5'8" and weigh 143lbs. I'm not thick but am tall and have long arms. I ordered the small but it won't work for me. I could use more length in the jacket itself and the sleeve length. The thumb hole cuffs are not as stretchy and giving as others I've worn so I can't make it work for me. I did expect it to be a little thicker. The color is so pretty! So I am sad I can't keep it. I could order a medium but not sure if I will. My recommendation to Columbia: start providing a tall section for women. I know some other cold weather gear companies competing with Columbia already do. January 15, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great jacket! I love how light it is. Normally I wear a small and that does fit but form fitting snug. I was worried the jacket may not be warm enough so wanting room for an extra layer (fleece or down sweater) I ordered the medium and it was just right. I was right to want an extra layer cause below 32 the jacket on its own would not be warm enough unless I'm very active in it. It would be nice to have a chest pocket and I wish the interior of the hand pocket were fleece lined and not that snaggy type of fabric. I would have given it 5 stars if it were warmer. January 14, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Jacket I bought this in Mineshaft. It is a cute color. The jacket is very warm. I like the thumb holes so the sleeves are long and does not let air in. January 14, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Jacket Great jacket!! Light weight but VERY warm. I ordered Mineshaft, very versatile color. I have received many compliments on it. January 13, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by You are going to want to size up I LOVE this jacket. My sister got it for me for Christmas because her and my mom have two each and I was getting super jealous ;). I am 5'5" 125 lbs and she got me a medium. This is a great go to jacket that is not bulky. Perfect for driving around and doing errands. If the weather is under 30 degrees and you are going to be out awhile you might want to layer underneath. You will want to size up so that you can do so. This jacket will work under the 3 Point Interchange shells. But really it is lightweight and slim enough to fit under any shell. My only complaint it that I wish it had a hood. Other than that you will find yourself reaching for this one from fall to spring. December 29, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Christmas Gift Hit 1 Better Half loves it. 'Nuff said! December 25, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome Jacket!!! This jacket went beyond my expectations. It's light, comfortable and stylish. The length is perfect. I bought the mineshaft color...love it! The thumb hole is wonderful...I can wear a pair of gloves while my thumb is in the hole. The "hole sleeve" is sewn into the garment arm far enough past the wrist to allow a glove to fit over...great feature! It's warm...i don't need to wear anything heavier than a long sleeve shirt and I'm comfortable walking/hiking around 30 degrees F. Hasn't gotten any cooler yet but I sure it will be great. Can't say enough. I bought a medium...usually I wear between a 4-6. Fits snug. You may need to go up a size if you intend on wearing a heavy sweater. November 6, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Version 1 I purchased this jacket's first version in 2010 or so. I got it for two reasons. First, I needed to be warm while looking cute on campus. Most girls wouldn't dress warm because it meant wearing a big puffy jacket. This jacket fools. It is extremely warm, but also very thin. It was perfect to pack when I went to England because it didn't take up much space in my suitcase. The second reason was because I do a lot of night jogs, dog walking, and am overall pretty active. I do not tolerate the cold and so I needed something that could keep up with me and my activity. I hardly got sweaty, and when I did, just unzipping slightly would fix that immediately. The negatives: you won't know until you get the jacket, but maintaining it is a pain in the booty. It cannot be bleached, dry cleaned, washed with cold water only, no fabric softener, requires delicate cycle, and if you dare put it in the dryer, it has to be little to no heat. With this said, i'm sure you can imagine how hard it was to keep my white jacket clean. As in, it never was. Additionally, the jacket was super warm for the first 2 years-which is nice-but after that you'll find that the "dots" rub off. My jacket is quite old now, but there is no omniheat lining left in it. If I spend this kind of money on something, I expect it to last. The jacket does fine against wind still, but not snowy weather. Things to keep in mind when you buy this: The darker the color, the better. Understand that this investment is only for a year or two. This jacket is easy to travel with and does not have a bulky look to it, keeping you looking fashion blog ready. October 20, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Freakin' Awesome! I bought this on sale during the summer and have just had a chance to test it out as the morning temps with wind chill have dipped below 0C (32F). This jacket keeps my core nice and warm while cycling in these chilly temps. October 13, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice Jacket Four friends tried this jacket on - we all loved the style but it ran very small on every one of us. Also - didn't realize the "chevrons" on the front and back were actual "flaps" - not just stitching... September 14, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Paper thin I expected this jacket to be a little thicker. I think I can probably wear it for early winter when the temp is in the high 50's but probably not when it's colder. June 24, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Replacing my old coat I already owned this coat and had finally worn out the elbows. It had white stuffing coming out after several years of owning it. So I finally purchased the exact same one to replace it. I love this coat. I have Raynauld's so love the omni-heat to keep me warm. It can keep me warm without being a big or bulky coat. I can also wear it as a light jacket if needed. I would have loved it in the purple color but only the black was on sale. June 12, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Athletic - MUST HAVE.. I'm in LUV with this jacket...Great for running!! February 26, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Totes needs a hood I was surprised by how light the jacket was, but after wearing it, it is very warm and toasty. I really just wish it had a hood. The tall collar keeps your neck warm, but when it's literally snowing, a hood would be really beneficial. Other than that I LOVE this jacket. *with the size, I bought a small in a Columbia vest, and a small in the jacket and the fit is very similar and both fit ideally. February 25, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by I LOVE this jacket! I was skeptical when I bought this jacket because it is so light and I was looking for a warm winter jacket because I like in the midwest and walk outside to get around. I even made sure at the store I bought it if the jacket didn't do all it promised that I could bring it back. I LOVE this coat! I hate being bundle up and it has no bulk at all. I also wear a backpack and that was another criteria for wanted a coat with little bulk. This jacket has keep me comfortable in 0 degree weather with hat, gloves and scarf and as comfortable in 30-40 without being too hot. I bought the jacket just a little bit big for me and although I have found it unescessary, I can comfortably layer a fleece under this jacket and BAM! February 20, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by 1chic This is the second jacket I have purchased, enjoying both. They keeps me warm, sometimes when in a car, too warm. It is light weight, fits perfectly. Would purchase more, but I think 2 are enough. February 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Lightweight and VERY warm! My 14 year old daughter wore this jacket while snow tubing in 20 degree weather and it kept her very warm with only a tee shirt underneath. She loves the furry collar against her neck. I chose a medium for her. She is about 5'7" and 110 lbs with a 36" chest. A small would have fit a bit slimmer but she prefers a looser fit. The jacket is very lightweight and thin but very, very warm. I would highly recommend this jacket. January 23, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by kaleidaslopeII silver bad luck I purchased 2 of these jackets in a medium one in "black and one in "silver/gray"for my twins for Christmas. The silver colored jacket was much smaller than the gray jacket. The black one is a perfect Medium fit the Silver/gray was skin tight. I had both of the girls try on each color as one twin is slightly bigger. The Silver was tight on both of them. I did call to get a RGA and a return label. Customer service was very pleasant. Unfortunately someone stole the package off the dock at my workplace before it got picked up. (I am furious!) I am however going to order another one. We love Columbia products and this is the first problem we have ever had. January 14, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Looks and Feel Great quality and comfort. Runs a little small, upgraded one size and fits perfectly. Very light weight but warm. Will use for skiing because of function and fit, with a mid-layer. Will be perfect not bulky, light and trim looking. December 26, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Jacket I thought when I got the jacket it looked too lightweight for our Leavenworth winters. I wear it on my morning walks...only down to 22 degrees so far and it is keeping me warm and cozy. The slim fit is flattering and I love the Raspberry color. I'm 5'5"and 120 pounds. December 19, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Returned Due to Size I am 5'9" 38DD. I'm more of a boxy shape on top. I got a Large because it said it fit 42-45 bust size. It does not. My roommate who is much smaller in bust and more of an hour glass shape couldn't fit into it either. I have no comment on the warmth or quality as I couldn't wear it. Thinking I may try to get an XL or find a comparable men's style. December 17, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love Absolutely love this jacket! Keeps me so warm but I don't look like a marshmallow. I've worn it every day since it came in the mail, just wish I would've gotten it sooner! December 1, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfy I purchased this jacket as an add-on to my interchange 3-in-1. I wanted the omni-heat for the coming winter months. The jacket is very comfortable and true to size. The fleece along the neck is nice and soft since that part comes in contact with your face. I ordered the dark raspberry color and I love it! November 12, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Coat! I absolutely love this coat. I like it so much I actually bought two in different colors. It is very lightweight, yet keeps you nice and warm. I love the lining in the sleeves that you can hook on your thumb to keep the coat from creeping up. The coat is attractive enough to wear with nicer clothes or with jeans. I get compliments on it all the time. February 3, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Kaleidaslope jacket I recently purchased this jacket in navy for my active 16 year old daughter who is normally hard to please when it comes to clothing. She loves this jacket! It's been warm enough for our cold Wisconsin weather and it's not bulky when driving in the car. January 25, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by LOVE ~ LOVE ~ LOVE ~ This AWESOME jacket!!!!! My daughter bought this jacket from a local store & they did not have my size, so luckily Columbia.com DID!!! I wore my this jacket yesterday and I'm THRILLED with it!!! It's light and warm not to mention CUTE! I wish there were more colors available in my size! This jacket is so versatile I can wear it from church to hit the trail hiking! LOVE this AWESOME jacket! January 20, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Features I love this jacket! Stylish, warm and light weight!! Does run a bit small though - had to get XL January 15, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazingly warm for weight and price! I purchased this jacket before a ski trip. It was on sale so I got an excellent price. I was very skeptical of how warm it would be as the material is incredibly lightweigt and the price was much less than other ski jackets I looked at. It turned out that the 3 days of skiing we did in northern Michigan were in the single digits for temperature. Although I brought extra layers (in case!) I had on only a thermal base layer, a fleece layer and then this jacket. I did have a scarf and head covering too. Amazingly I stayed warm (and I am also a person that gets cold easily). I also got compliments on the appearance of the jacket. I gave it 4 stars for quality only because I have had it just a week so I don't feel I can give it an "excellent" until I see how it holds up. I think the size was true for me (small) as I was able to layer under it and still have unrestricted movement. I do wish the sleeves were just a little bit longer but as I have longer arms than average I didn't mark it down for that. I used the thumb holes but they do get a little tight and uncomfortable after wearing all day (I have this problem with other products with thumb holes too). Although the days I used the jacked were very cold, there was little wind. At times there were a few gusts and it seemed to block the wind but I would need more use in windy conditions to adequately assess how it performed. Overall a great jacket, I think it will be a favorite! January 5, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by love it my daughter lives in it - warm enough outside in MI, somehow not too hot for brief trips inside. lightweight yet WARM. my other daughter wants one!! great value December 20, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by This jacket is GREAT! I ordered this jacket and it came pretty quickly. I was prepared for it to be a little small, but it fit perfectly. It is super warm and has come in handy with the weather being colder than usual in the Chicago area! Would order again! :) December 18, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this coat I was a bit nervous when I first received this coat as it looked too thin to be warm enough, but it's just fine. Not only is it thin and flattering, but it keeps me warm and blocks wind very well. Great coat! December 18, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by This product is flattering. I love my new Kaleidaslope II jacket. The fit is very flattering although it runs a bit small. The quill color is my favorite. I live in the mountains with temps up to 30 below and this jacket keeping me warm. I'm going to try it out on the slopes in the next few weeks! December 18, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for Winter When I got this jacket in the mail I wasn't sure if it would hold up to Wisconsin's winter weather but it does. It is the warmest jacket I've ever worn and it has a great fit too. December 16, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by I love it! I got this jacket because I was looking for something that was light, but that would still keep me warm in the cold weather. Let me tell you, it has survived some pretty nasty cold weather here in Oklahoma. I love the fur in the collar and the omni heat works great at keeping me warm. I'd say it is pretty true to size. I typically wear mediums and that is what I got. So far it is all that I hoped it would be, very pleased :) December 16, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Beautiful, light and warm! This jacket is very light but warm; stylish yet functional. It has unique stitching to give it a little flair. The gray fuzzy collar is very soft when the jacket is zipped all the way up. Plus it has hand/wrist warmers that tuck back under the sleeve---I was afraid they would show and they don't. I have gotten a number of compliments on this jacket. this jacket has become my instant favorite! December 15, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by New favorite coat! This is my new favorite coat. Light and warm. It's perfect for walking in 20 to 30 deg F weather. December 15, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Much Thinner (and Warmer) Than I Expected When I opened the package, I was very disappointed. The jacket was way thinner that I had ever expected. But I decided to try it out. It's been snowing in NY lately and this jacket has kept me quite warm! It is very fitted, so I understand why some people feel it runs small. I am 5'8", 130 pounds, and a B-cup and the medium fits me very well. I am not petite. I can wear this jacket quite comfortably with a thick sweater underneath, but it just fits. The high "furry" collar is great. I'm very happy with this purchase. December 14, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Ok jacket I ordered this jacket for a gift, I would not like for myself. The quality is not that good and not worth the price. Will probably return it. December 14, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Lightweight and very warm! I love love love this jacket! It is lightweight but the Omni-Heat makes it so warm in our cold temperatures this winter. I'm a size 10 and the large fits fine, a little close to the body but that's what aids in the function of the Omni-Heat feature. I highly recommend this jacket! December 12, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love, Love, Love this coat! With other coats, as soon as I got to my car I took off my coat and threw it in the back seat because I hated that tight and bulky feeling that most other coats cause. This coat, however, stays on the whole trip. It is super warm, but thin enough to not feel bulky, even with a sweater underneath. Plus, the streamlined fit is slimming. This coat is both warm and comfortable - you won't regret buying it! December 12, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Jacket Lightweight but warm. Very slimming jacket and it keeps me warm. December 8, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very warm and cute! I love this jacket, not only is it incredibly warm, it looks good too. Not too bulky or heavy. Very comfortable and I absolutely love the sleeves. November 26, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by TX winter staple I love this jacket! The omniheat makes it super warm without the bulk of a traditional down jacket. It's nice not to feel like the michelin man in order to be warm! I love the furry collar for added warmth, and the thumb holes and the interior pocket are always nice touches. I did not find this jacket to be particularly rain resistant. Honestly, I wouldn't expect it to be having seen the fabric, but I noticed it was rated "omni-shield" just now when I came back to review. No matter! It's streamlined enough to fit under my rain coat... bonus! November 25, 2013
