Reviews

Women’s Kruser Ridge™ Softshell Jacket is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 54.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sleeves :( This jacket is really great. One of my absolute favorites but my only complaint is the sleeves are way too long. I have to fold them just to function normally. Other than that, I would 110% recommend this jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket Needed a moderate jacket for a trip to Tennesse during the holidays. It fit great and kept me warm the whole time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Jacket Good quality jacket, warm but the arms are so long makes me think it's a men's jacket I had to check twice to make sure it wasn't when I got it. Would have given 5 stars if the arms weren't so long. Also order at least 1 size smaller.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Odd fit Sleeve length is very long and the body of the jacket is cut very small.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good coat. It was a gift for my daughter and she loves it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket I love this jacket. It's lightweight and functional for everyday use. It's very warm without being bulky. I would recommend this jacket to anyone looking for a lightweight option.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classic This has a classic look and will be replacing the North Face jackets my daughter and I had, which have curved hems so seemed short in the front. In contrast, the Kruser has an even hem and falls mid-hip with just enough tailoring for a trim look yet plenty of room for layering. I am 5'4" 110# while my daughter is 5'8" and 135#. I purchased size small for us both. The arms are long, so great for her and I'll simply hem mine a bit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket! This jacket is both lightweight and warm. This is a perfect jacket to use everyday during winter. The jacket also fit well and is slimming, not bulky.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Jacket but Runs Very Large I bought this jacket on a sale, and i love it! It's a great value for the dollar. It's high quality and keeps you very warm. It's not a sub zero type of jacket, but it does the trick in 40's and 50's degree weather. The only issue I have with it is that it runs very large. And by very large, I'm 5'7.5" and 150-155 lbs, ordered a Small, and I'm still swimming in it. Order one or two sizes down for sure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kruser ridge This jacket is amazing it is just like the North Face jacket and for a cheaper price, which is great! I do not like the fact that the sleeves are really long and have no adjustment straps but overall it is an amazing jacket that keeps You very warm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice cut, runs large I read the other reviews and decided on a large, which is my normal size (5'10", 170lb). It's still roomy on me, which is nice for layering. And since it's not bulky, it still looks good. Nice tailoring at the waist. As others say, the sleeves really are quite long. My arms are long and many jackets are short on me. This one actually comes to the second joint on my thumb. Better than too short. All in all a good purchase.
Date published: 2016-12-11
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice jacket Its a nice jacket but the arms are way too long. It would fit a long thin armed person good but me being a farm girl i have very muscular arms so its a bit binding.
Date published: 2016-12-08
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Eh It is okay. Nothing special. Definitly will be returning. Some columbia jackets fit well while others seem to have a poor fit. Im just not too fond of this one. I ordered an extra large and it just was not quite right. Material was disappointing too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Jacket I own to date! I purchased this product because i am a ranch hand who spends many below 30 degree mornings fiddling with water troughs, and driving tractors and golf carts in cold winds. This jacket is in fact wind and water proof! water beads up and falls right off and I only wish the rest of my body could be this toasty when running around the ranch! Great for stock shows too when washing animals in early mornings! Way to go Columbia

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new favorite This jacket is al all around excellent example of the quality, fit, and comfort I associate with the brand. The fabric has great give and is very warm, and the cut is comfortable and super flattering. It is nice enough to wear to the office. A bonus - pet hair does not stick to it! Just a quick shake and it comes right off!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best jackets ever! I bought this jacket 2 1/2 years ago during a Christmas sale. I bought a size medium in the color black. I wore that jacket out. It was great in chilly, rainy, or snowy weather. It could be dressed up or down. The fabric is great because it doesn't catch fuzz or dirt very easy and it is stretchy which makes for a comfortable wear. When it does get dirty, it washes amazingly well. I love the zipper front pockets. I stick my cell phone, money, credit card, whatever I don't want to fall out. I wore the old jacket so much that I broke the zipper (everything else still looked new). I sent it in to Columbia to have it fixed. I guess it was beyond fixing so they gave me a credit to buy a brand new one. So, customer service is amazing. I just received this new jacket and can't wait to start wearing it out! Seriously a great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my new jacket! I got this jacket for when it gets below 50 here. It's summer right now so I'm not sure how it will perform yet. The workmanship is great and the fit is perfect except the sleeves are a tad long. Still workable tho. I have a women's large 5'06/160.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Stiff It looks and is made nicely. I wanted to love it but it would be too constricting For hiking. Plus sleeve length is too long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket Love the look and feel of this jacket. Already owned a purple one, decided to get a black as a good lightweight jacket for wearing out to a casual dinner as it looks quite stylish

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this Jacket I had one just like this years ago and loved it. I wore it during the winter in NY. It's not a winter coat but it worked for me. I wanted a new one and got this one and it's exactly like my old one. So comfy and it's warm and fits and looks so good on. Sleeves are a tad long but still looks good. The jacket sits on my hips and I'm 5'7. I got a large because my breast were a little to big for the medium.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Spring Jacket Awesome jacket! Have worn in rain and wind and does an excellent job of keeping you warm and dry! Love the shape it gives when wearing and the fact that it doesn't feel like a cheap jacket!
Date published: 2016-04-17
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice design, looks sharp I agree with the people who feel the sleeves are longish - I'm 5'10" and usually have a hard time finding sleeves long enough. These go about an inch past my wrist bones, which is great but may not meet others' needs. Love the cut and material of the jacket. It has a bit of a glitch with the zipper, but I'm keeping it for its other features.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sleeves are looooooong I really really like this jacket. Its thin and pliable and has a soft fleece lining. I am a taller woman at 5'8 and I really appreciate length in pants and sleeves.... with that being said, these sleeves are so long I dont think they would fit correctly on any size person. With my hands hanging straight down to my sides the sleeves cover all but the last link of my longest finger. I like the rest of the jacket so much, I cant decide to keep and hem the sleeves or just return for my money back... I ordered the Titans pass 3.0 titanium fleece at the same time in an xl and it fits like a glove.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good spring weather coat My first Columbia jacket. I like the lightweight feel. It keeps the chill off when you are taking a walk with the dog in cool to mild weather. Long in the arm which I was not used to but am enjoying it now. And it keeps you dry in a light rain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite Jacket I have this jacket in both Black and Sea Salt. They are my favorite jackets. In the winter I you will always catch me in this jacket. It can be worn casually or formally. This jacket is warm and comfortable. If you are looking for a nice jacket I would definitely recommend this one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great over all This jacket was great but the only problem is if you are large breasted and want some room in the chest area you may want to get the next size up. Aside from that it's a great fit

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect coat Not bulky but very warm and somewhat fitted to make it look a bit nicer no matter what the occasion.
Date published: 2016-01-08
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Love the wind proof and water proof factor of the jacket, makes it perfect for all weather surprises! The adjustable waist piece is great as well to make the jacket more fitted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big hit Teenager LOVES it. I found it ran true to size. I ordered a size up & it should work when worn with layers/sweaters/sweatshirts. The selfies showing it off were flying.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best! This jacket is perfect! So perfect I purchased two! Washes and dries like a dream. Versatile and good looking! I purchased in white and tons of compliments! Winner!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Jacket This jacket is lightweight yet warm in all weather conditions. It fits true to size but has long sleeves which is something I appreciate but others might not. This is my go to jacket and although I have yet to launder it, I feel sure the quality will remain. I will definitely be ordering from Columbia again!
Date published: 2015-12-12
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Light Weight I purchased this to replace a jacket I previously had. This jacket fits more like a "man's" jacket. The sleeves are long and wide. I feel this jacket was a little thinner than I expected. I am 5'10" and 200 lbs and this was big on me.
Date published: 2015-12-02
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very nice jacket BUT sleeves are TOO long! I'm 5'4" and 130; I ordered M and it was too big and the sleeves were definitely too long. Then I ordered S and the fit was good EXCEPT the sleeves were still TOO long. Both were returned. I did get a different jacket in S that fit well, but again the sleeves were too long gut they had Velcro straps to adjust. I recommend the product only for tall women. Can Columbia start making PETITE sizes, PLEASE?
Date published: 2015-11-30
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not quite what I expected I ordered this jacket in the color Quill based on the online image, and a size medium based on the reviews saying it runs large. I'm returning it because it wasn't as large as I expected, and the color is way darker than I expected from the online photo. I'll be trying a size large in a different color, because I like the quality of the jacket; it looks like it'll be great once I get the right one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love! I got this jacket in a size S in black, and XS in white to try to find out what size/color I really wanted. I returned the white because it did have a dirt mark on it, and even though it was easy to remove I know with pets and kids I didn't want to take the chance of always getting marks on it. If you are deciding between the XS and S, it depends on what you want to wear underneath it. With the S I am able to comfortably have a thin long sleeve shirt, or even a thicker flannel on underneath and not feel like the arms are tight. If I have just the thin long sleeve on under the XS it felt a little too tight. The XS was shorter than the S, and I loved how much longer the S was because I hate having to constantly pull down my jacket. The sleeve seemed like the same length, they are longer than most jackets. I went out into the light rain and it just beaded on the jacket and shook right off! Definitely warm and worth the money! (I am 5'1 125lbs)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compliments Galore! EVERY TIME I WEAR THIS JACKET, SOMEONE COMMENTS ON THE COLOR, STYLE, OVERALL BEAUTY! IT DID RUN SLIGHTLY BIGGER THAN I WOULD HAVE HOPED, BUT I DIDNT RETURN IT AS I CAN PUT LAYERS UNDERNEATH

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent buy I love my jacket! Received it a few weeks ago and have used it several times. Wore it in the rain (in Florida the rain pours sideways so even with an umbrella you usually get wet), and it whisked away the water wonderfully. Also wore it on several windy chilly days and it kept me comfy. I typically wear a medium, but this one was a little roomier than I anticipated (I'm 5'7" 145#). I have broad shoulders so a Small is too small-overall I'm very happy with it. Great product!
Date published: 2015-10-29
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it I bought this jacket as an alternative to the standard fleece. It runs a little large and the sleeves are a little long but other than that, it's great. I also bought one for my best friend for her birthday.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from plane Jane This is very boring and plane jacket. No features and a boxy fit even in the small. I returned this for a slightly more expensive soft shell with much more personality and very nice features. Get the Prime Peak softshell instead, much better fit and value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Satisfied I always biked to and from work with weather like here in Chicago is crazy !i bought this jacket last year in spring i am super happy i dont need any extra layer to add..highly recomendef!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful jacket I usually wear a size small but had to bring that back and order an extra small. This is a great fit and style!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Too big... I ordered a small since I have other things from Columbia, but is too big, had to returned and I ordered an XS.
Date published: 2015-05-10
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Big, but I'm keeping it I generally wear a Med but having ordered this online i was unsure about its fit b/c I read mixed reviews before I ordered. (I'm 53, 5'8 and 153#). All I knew was, I wanted it. It is considerably bigger than I expected for a Large (I have a Columbia fleece in Large and it too, is roomy but not as much as this). But, I'm keeping it. I can layer and not worry about feeling bulky. It looks big but not ginormous and, I'm keeping it. The color is an odd shade of "red" - it's a bit orange-y but...I'm keeping it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kruser Ridge Softshell This jacket is great. It's thin, lightweight, windproof, and warm- but won't overheat in spring/fall transitional weather. It's has a nice fit, allowing for layering, but not baggy. It's a classic fit and will, in my opinion, never go out of style. For reference: I am 5'2", 108 lbs. I got size small and am very pleased with the fit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A little long by the waist Bought this for a friend. She likes it but do complain that it is a little longer by the waist.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from too big I'm 5' and wear size 0-1 100lb I usually can't fit into women's clothing and buy clothes in the juniors or children's departments. I wish they had a petite version of this coat. Otherwise I wouldn't have to return it. Great quality. Love this coat, just too big. Looks like I'm drowning in it.
Date published: 2015-03-14
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this jacket! I don't like big bulky coats so this jacket is perfect for me. It is very warm without being heavy and is the high quality you expect from Columbia. I purchased this jacket about 2 years ago and I reordered it in the same size but it's too big and I am returning it.
