Rated 4 out of 5 by Super cute and warm Wasn't sure what size to order after reading the reviews. I decided on a medium (I usually wear a small) it fits pretty good. The only things I don't like is that the arms are longer than mine but I'm 5'1" so this happens quite often with me lol. I am not in love with the shiny silver inside of the coat otherwise I couldn't be happier with the coat! I will defiantly be keeping it (: January 4, 2017
Rated 4 out of 5 by Flattering and Versatile My goals with this purchase: (1) A coat that’s comfortably warm over two long-sleeve shirts in 20-degree weather, and that I can wear over a sweatshirt in colder temps. Something I can quickly toss on for three-a-day dog walks and numerous errands. (2) Velcro sleeve adjustment, a necessity as I have short arms. (3) Something flattering. (4) Versatile, easy-to-keep clean main color, i.e., black or dark gray. (5) Collar color that does not drain color from face or need frequent washing. I prefer fleece linings, but who wants to remove and wash a lining every time its baby blue collar shows a little dirt? I ordered the Alpine Action in a 1X, and found it too large for my build (38-35-45). It might have been more flattering in an XL, but I decided the reflective lining wasn’t warm enough. In 45-degree weather in high humidity, with a couple layers, I could still feel a bit of a chill. For vigorous activity it might be fine, but for a brisk dog walk it was lacking. Based on the reviews regarding warmth, I switched to an XL Lhotse Interchange. More flattering. Insulated lining could stand to be a little warmer, but it was sufficient over a single long-sleeve tee in 35-degree weather. And I think the “pit vents” could improve motion and comfort when layering over a sweatshirt. A feature I appreciate: If you unzip the faux fur collar trim, the zipper on the hood stays hidden. I’m keeping the Lhotse and returning the Alpine. BTW, I dislike giving "true to size" or not ratings since body sizes/shapes and sizes all vary. Hope giving actual body measurements proves more useful. December 13, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by GReat gift Bought for my girlfriend who needed a coat that could be used in the south in Tennessee where she lives currently and here in Michigan where I live and she is moving too. The 3 in 1 makes that possible. Coat for every occasion. December 1, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Super useful I got this jacket for a future trip to Iceland. Unexpectedly I had to go to Alaska for work. I stayed the weekend and went on a glacier cruise. The jacket kept me warm when we were really close to the glaciers :) I love it. Since Otis two jackets together I was able to use the huge jacket for the outside and simply remove it and stay with the inner jacket inside the cruise. I love this jacket and the water resistant material was awesome, kept my phone safe when it started to rain freezing water. Fit is a little tight, but not a big deal. August 7, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Fine Coat My wife needed a new heavy coat and columbia had a sale at the right time. Good construction and price. This jacket will fit the bill in all weather. Fits small and the sleeves are a little long but the adjustable straps will take care of that. April 1, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Perfect This jacket is perfect for what I needed. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone looking for a jacket below-20 though. March 25, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Lhotse jacket Just got back from a week of skiing with my new jacket. Very warm, but lightweight. I loved it. It felt like I had forgotten something because it was so lightweight and comfortable! I only wish there was a second small zipper pocket in the chest area so I can keep my ski season pass separate from my phone. That would be my only improvement on a great jacket. February 10, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by You have to wear a fleece underneath First of all, the "black" option isn't really black; it's more like a grayish colour. Secondly, the hat sits really awkwardly. I can't really see anything if I put it on. It's fairly warm if you wear a fleece or a sweater underneath. It's very stylish, comfortable and light. I guess everything has it's pros and cons, huh? Rated 5 out of 5 by I love this jacket! So far I love my jacket! I'm in Minnesota right now and we went on a little hike. I was so warm I actually had to start pulling off some gear. It is soft and comfortable. December 21, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Attractive but function is bad This is an attractive jacket on the website, until I tried it on. I kept this jacket only because it's the closest I could find to the last Columbia jacket I purchased in 2002, but I'm already wishing I hadn't kept it because the Velcro down the front placket of the jacket is sticking to everything and driving me crazy! When I take it off the hanger to put it on, I have to lay it down and pull the jacket apart because the Velcro pieces are stuck together. The Velcro sticks to my clothing and the Velcro pieces on the cuffs when I am putting the jacket on, as well as scratching my skin. AWFUL!!! The sizing runs really small. I ordered an XL so I had room to layer, but Columbia must have changed the sizing since I purchased my last winter jacket, because there is no room for any layers. This jacket doesn't hold a candle to the "Ice Edge Parka" I purchased in 2002. That jacket had everything: Outside and inside chest pockets; Two-way zipper that really comes in handy when you are sitting in a car and don't want your jacket riding up to your chin; SNAPS down the front instead of that AWFUL Velcro; and truly adjustable cuffs that I could snug up on my wrist to get the sleeves out of the way. I guess I won't be purchasing any more jackets from Columbia if they keep using Velcro instead of the conventional snaps as fasteners down the front of the jacket. Columbia: BRING BACK THE ICE EDGE PARKA, AND GO BACK TO SNAPS INSTEAD OF VELCRO!!!!!!!! December 3, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by It's okay Pros: Warm Moderately stylish Mostly rain proof Cons: No fitted sleeve cuffs (wind gets in and there is a gap between glove and jacket) Fur rim is short on the sides, it does not extend all the way around (making the hood look visually awkward when up) Pockets leak (tbh all my Columbia jackets do this except non-"breathable" rain jackets with rain proofed zipper pockets) Tight at hips, not tailored enough at waist (not really fitted for "women's" bodies. Rain drips off jacket right onto my pants) I bought it because it was an interchange jacket which I love, the hood had fur to hopefully keep out winter wind, and it was black. I would have bought the bugaboo again but it had white on it. I was really happy with my purchase last time I got the bugaboo but feel most comfortable in black. I'm an consistently disappointed in sportswear companies who sell women's versions in loud colors but not black. At the end of the day I would recommend to a friend with a shrug and a list of the jackets short comings. If you have $250 to spend on a mediocre jacket then this is the coat for you!
