Women's Mighty Lite™ Hooded Jacket - Plus Size is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 197.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice light coat, but runs small I love the colour of this coat as an alternative to black, and it is very lightweight, but the sizing is not consistent. I wear a 2x in shirts, and they are large on me but since the reviews said this coat ran small, maybe it would be ok. I couldn't even zip it up and the arms were super tight. I'm ordering a 3x because i really like the coat and I hope it'll fit. It is frustrating when different styles fit differently in the same size. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally! The perfect Coat. Lightweight, warm, and a pretty color. The perfect combination. Quite a slim fit. I'd go up a size if you want to layer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not great for extremely cold weather I bought this coat for my trip to Sapporo, Japan during the Snow Festival in Feb. The temperatures averaged in the 18-20 degrees. The jacket only kept me warm if I had several layers underneath. I thought it would have been enough with the Omni heat feature, but once the wind was blowing I was still cold. With all my layers underneath, I wasn't able to zip it all the way to cover the bottom half of my face. Also, I found the hand cuffs to fit funny. It felt too short. I purchased the beige color and it was beautiful. But I was surprised at how thin the coat is. I'm sure the jacket would Work in another setting, but it wasn't the right coat for Sapporo weather.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Long Light Coat I do find the fit a little smaller than true to size but I knew that about the products before I bought. The zipper seems to stick. Other than those the coat is very warm and light which is exactly what I wanted and I am very happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it!!! This parka is exactly what I was looking for - warmth without the bulk. Really well made and still has a metal zipper unlike other brands that have gone to plastic. Happy I went up a size since it does run small. Overall a really well made product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Jacket, but Runs LARGE Great length for the winter. I really enjoy that it is light weight and does not add a lot of bulk, however I am skeptical that it will keep me warm on a really cold day in Wisconsin (since I have received the jacket it has not been really cold). The color was not as deep of a red as I was hoping for. It almost has a slight pink hue, but it is not an awful color. The zipper is a little tricky at times, but it is manageable. The thumb holes are too short for me to use, but I do like that it fits snugly around my wrists. The sizing seems to be very off. I did my measurements and ordered a 2X per the size chart. I am a curvy girl and so I was concerned about the jacket being tight across the bust and at the hips. I decided to trust the size chart and order the 2X vs the 1X my gut told be to buy. Both the hip area and bust area have TONS of extra space. Even when I wear a scarf tucked in and a bulky top the chest area is not tight. Wishing I would have ordered a smaller size, but other than that it seems like a great addition to my wardrobe!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not warm and not very dry I purchased this for a recent trip to Iceland. I thought with base layers it would keep me warm and dry. Wrong on both counts. The temps were from the 20s to low 30s, with lots of rain, sleet and snow. I wore a silk base layer along with a merino wool base layer and a down vest under the coat but was cold all the time. The rain resistant feature lasted for about 10 minutes before it soaked up. The hood is large and the wind repeatedly blew it off, so I wore a hat and scarf too. I wish I had bought a regular parka instead. Apparently this coat is no longer made, which is a good thing. The color, however, (camellia red) is gorgeous.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice but light weight It is more like a jacket not really for extreme cold. Nice for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous in red I bought this in a 2x instead of the 1x that I normally wear due to reviews. For me, it fit well going up a size. Love everything about this jacket. I live in Chicago and use this jacket when it is in the mid to upper 30s. For cold weather I wear an Eddie Bauer down coat, but this one is perfect for the warmer Chicago winter days. Love the styling, and of course the bright red color. I got it on sale for $119 right after Christmas.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light as a feather! I love this coat. Didn't need another coat, but saw this on sale and had to try it on and loved it. The styling is perfect for me! I wear 3X and am 5'10". I hope Columbia keeps adding more plus sizes! I like the longer length and the 2 way zipper. The sleeves are long enough, but as others have said, the forearm area is a bit snug, and the thumb holes don't work for me. I do like the soft fabric in that area. With that said, I did find that the sleeves don't have the silver dots and I could feel cold there when the torso was toasty warm. The coat is light as a feather and easy to wear.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from First order from Columbia and disappointed The true to size rating provided above is based on the width of the coat. The length of the coat is much shorter than how it appears on the website. I am a larger size (2X) and it came to top of my thighs. I also do not agree with the temperature rating of the coat and would not recommend for winter but only for a warm fall day. It also appears much thicker/heavier on the website than what it actually is.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not warm enough I bought it as a gift for my mom who wanted a light but warm jacket. We went to Santa Clause parade in December when temperature was 4 celcius below zero with a fleece top underneathe and another light layer as base. It felt freezing for just half an hour hanging out there. Considering the price, It would have been a wonderful jacket if it had some sort of lining wheather light fleece or some down. The jacket is very light good for overall water proof fall or spring. Also, it is tricky. to zip. Basically it has the reflective Omni Heat which I had in other products like the whirlbird glove that doesnt work well for lower than 7 celcius below zero, and the nylon outer shell. It came in a tiny package. When worn it looks elegant..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely light weight yet warm! I love this coat so much I actually bought 2, one in the white color and one called Mineshaft (a dark gold beige tan color). The sleeves are nice and long as is the overall length. This coat is practically weightless so it's very comfortable to wear, yet it keeps you warm. The lining is the silver dots and they do work - they hold in your body heat. The hood needs to be bigger....I don't use the hood often but when I do, it needs to be much larger and come forward......the sleeves could have been a bit wider to accommodate a bulky sweater underneath, but I have been wearing both coats and loving them. The one thing I don't care for it the thumb holes in the sleeve lining, I guess many people like this, but to me it's just dumb. I have to always sew this closed. I went up a size.....this coat runs small.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mighty Lite Omni 3/4 Jacket I bought this jacket 6 years ago. I have tried to get it in purple in 3X. I don't want any other jacket because this model style etc. is more than excellent. I am in my 70's, need a light but warm coat and this one has served me well. Need a new one as I've worn this one year round. Still in great shape but getting dog-eared on sleeves and edges.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and toasty I love my new jacket, I probably should've went with a size down but still very comfortable and so warm. Nice and light but keeps you warm like a parka. I'm really pleased with my purchase. Thanks for keeping me warm this winter! :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE JACKET Size is off though! I absolutely love this jacket. I always run warm. This jacket is perfect for that. I stay warm but am not sweating the second I put it on. When it gets too cold I layer a fleece under it and it's perfect. My only problem with this jacket was the sizing. Most of the reviews I read were that this jacket ran a tad small. I'm in-between sizes so I decided to order a size up. The jacket was so big I could have zipped a child into the jacket with me. I ordered the size down and it fits better but is still slightly big. I would recommend this jacket to anyone but DO NOT order a size up!!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and Cozy I am so pleased with this coat. I wanted to spruce up my winter coat wardrobe and this has done the trick. I purchased a 2X. I love the 2 way zipper and the non-bulky design. It's been keeping me warm when the east wind howls!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Warm and light I love this coat it's very light but very warm, it's great for urban winter where you outside under 30 minutes but if your into winter activities i would go to a heavy duty parka, i bought the red so when i walk to the parking lot in the evening other drivers can see me, for plus size girls like me it's stylish and functional, thanks Columbia for expanding your market to plus sizes for women, the price is great, and the quality is outstanding, the zip is heavy duty and zips up smoothly, the sleeves have a hole for the thumb so your sleeves do not pull up when wearing gloves, the pockets are deep and zip up for your cell phone or keys, so the extra features are great, i recommend this coat as a great buy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too big. I ordered big because the literature says it runs small. By the time I went back to reorder the size I wanted (2X) it wasn't available in Nocturnal Blue. Very disappointed in that. A friend has the coat and likes it very much.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for weather down to about 20 Degrees F I bought the coat as I get tired of lugging around a bulky coat and / or layers. I live and work near the IL / WI border. When the temp dropped (unusual for this time of yr) to below 10degrees, I was able to test it quickly. With the usual scarf, hat and gloves, I was ok but it definitely let some of the cold in. I think it depends on your tolerance of cold as to what you want from this. Most of the winter we are looking at 20s and 30s and I think it will be fine for that. I ordered a plus size, 3x, because it saw it ran small. I'm about a 22/24 top and it just fits. The thumb holes tug and the inserts holding that in aren't quite long enough. Don't let any of this deter you from the coat as far as quality. Columbia is a champ when it comes to coats and I'm a bit of a whiner when its cold. The coat is made of great material and is solidly manufactured. I just think I found its limitations quickly. If it helps anyone, I'm 5'10", size 22/24 top, and obviously a big lady. The coat falls just below my hips and I'm long in the torso.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous jacket! It is so light and so warm! I didn't think I would care about it being waterproof, but we've been having weird weather lately, from cold temperatures to rain within hours. This coat is rainproof in a heavy downpour -- even the hood. I like the length, because it keeps me warm in the car on cold days. As other reviewers have said, the jacket fits amlittle small, so I went up a size and it is just right. It would be. Ice of the hood had a drawstring or something to keep it on during windy weather. But the warmth is amazing in such a lightweight coat. I was comfortable at -15 C. And the colour choice is a treat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product is a good investment I love this coat it is the best investment I have done. It is true to its name: the coat is very very warm. it is also very lite but don't let that fool you it will keep you very warm. It is true to its size I got a 3x and it fits perfect a bit snugglly around the arms but that's if you wear a sweater underneath, I sometimes do, but you still have room to move your arms around. I love this coat so much that I an going to get my granddaughter one. Thank you Colombia great coats.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Jacket! I can't believe how light-weight, yet warm this jacket is! Incredible. I did order a size up because the reviews said that it ran small. I wish I had ordered my correct size as it is a bit big on me. I was also worried it was going to be 'puffy' and I didn't need to look any puffier than I already do! It isn't puffy at all. I would buy this jacket in a shorter style or different color, that is how much I love it. The thumb holes are also an amazing add-on!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy this coat. I shopped for coats for a long time before checking what Columbia had to offer. I wasted a lot of time. This lightweight, comfortable and attractive coat is awesome. We recently had below zero days with wind in New Hampshire. This coat kept me warm. The thing I am most impressed with is the zipper. In my quest for the perfect winter coat, I sent two back ( from other companies)because the zipper was difficult. The Mighty Lite is amazing! No fumbling around in the cold to get it to work. I love everything about this coat. Thank you, Columbia. You will be my first stop when shopping for outerwear.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lightweight Winter Coat I live in West Michigan where there are snow a plenty. I had a terrible delivery service so it arrived when snow and cold was in full swing. I have 2 other Columbia long winter coats. They were the traditional down coat. I wanted to try non down coat after watching videos about animal cruelty during down plucking. The coat is lightweight. It works great if you are running from home to car to work or store. But if you are shopping at an outdoors mall for an hour or so, it will get very cold. The weather I was out at was about 20 degrees with wind chills making it feels below zero. I will still be on a lookout for a real Midwest winter coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it I was concerned with some reviews saying it ran small and almost got a size bigger. So glad I didn't if anything it's a little big for just regular shirts underneath but perfect to wear sweatshirts or sweaters with. Very warm for as thin as it is.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great coat I walk with my dog several times a day, our walks are usually about 45 mins each time. I was looking for a coat that was down to my knees and that breathed. I have purchased so many coats the last few years to find one that would not leave me all wet from sweating by the time I got home. I decided to try this coat as I noticed it had omni therm. I have purchased a few items with this material over a long span of years and none of the items have let me down. I actually have a pair of pants that feel like fleece and are omni therm....I bought them many years ago. Those are my go to pants when walking in super cold weather. I have worn this coat several times now and it certainly keeps me comfortable, I am so happy with my purchase. I must say the only thing that I am disappointed with is there is no way to tighten the hood down when the wind is howling. I find it odd that this was not considered an essential on a winter coat. I ordered 2 sizes up based on reviews, I don't believe that that is necessary, as I find the coat too big. In Columbia coats I usually buy an xl, this time I bought a 2x. I will keep the coat though, as I would rather be super comfortable when out walking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love the weight and warmth I liked the coat so much in the pond green colour, that I immediately ordered it again in the red colour. So far I have worn it on windy wet cold days in November and now on snowy cold days in early December. I have been comfortable with no extra layers, just my shirt. Temperatures are currently around -2. I ordered a size 2X because I already own the omni heat vests in size 1X. They are very fitted, so I was sure that a 2X in this coat would allow room for a sweater as an additional layer. I am 5'8" and 200lbs. The length just comes slightly above my knees. The bust, chest, and arms fit perfectly. I absolutely need the 2X in these areas. The lower body of the coat has a nice roominess. It flairs out a bit and gives the coat a nice shape. I don't need to unzip from the bottom when driving because the coat is roomy enough. Both the red and the pond green are very pretty colours. The hood is perfect on me. I have a long neck and a medium head. I am a traveller and have been looking for a lightweight, packable, water and wind resistant coat for an upcoming trip to the Hebrides in Scotland. This coat is going with me on all my travels.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too thin for Wisconsin winters I live in Wisconsin and need a jacket that can keep me warm in any kind of weather. I read all the reviews and decided on this one. They didn't have this in my store. But because I've had so many awesome Columbia coats in the past, I thought I would take a chance and order online. As several readers suggested, I ordered a size larger than normal. When the coat arrived, it was much too big. I am a 14/16 and ordered a 2X. Also, it is so thin. Unless I put on several layers underneath, there's no way this will keep me warm through the blustery winter. I'm returning and ordering the Voodoo Falls Turbo Down. Will rate once I receive it, as well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not warm enough for Minnesota I've been searching for a warm coat to replace an old, no-name (but warm) down jacket that I bought at Costco a few years ago. Having recently turned vegan, I wanted a coat with no down or leather - synthetic insulation only. After reading all of the reviews, this appeared to be my best option from Columbia. It arrived in the mail today, and it's 5 degrees F outside. Perfect timing! I decided to take the dogs for a quick walk and try it out. I only got as far as the end of my block before having to turn back and go home. I was FREEZING. Wind blows right through this coat. Even without any wind, as soon as I stepped outside with this coat, I could feel a chill on my neck, back, and arms. It was unbearable after less than 5 minutes on a typical December evening in Minnesota. This is highly disappointing. Back it goes.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Expensive Gunny Sack The coat is of average warmth for Michigan winters. I ordered a size larger than I normally would because I read that the arms were small. They were indeed constricting. As usual, as a tall woman, the sleeves were a bit too short. I am unable to use the thumb holes because of this. I enjoy the longer length, although the two way zipper is a pain to get started. I wish this coat also had snaps for a quick open/close. The cut is not feminine like I'd hoped. With a great brand like Columbia, I had expected more for their full figured customers. If I wanted a sack, I could have bought that at a big box store for a third of the cost. I'm feeling warm enough, but frumpy. You let me down, Columbia.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice and Warm Today it was cool enough in Austin, Texas to try out my new coat. I really like it. It is very lightweight but it stores heat. I came back to the website to see what other products Columbia has with the Omni-Heat technology as I was impressed. I could really envision a below-the-knee coat in this. I probably would have liked snaps as well as a zipper but the zipper does zip both ways. It really runs small. Normally, I would have ordered an XL but given the hip measurements of the jacket provided on the website, I went up to a 2XL. It's a bit big but it wasn't overpowering due to its lightweight and non-puffy presence. It would be nice to have someway to tighten the hood but it lays nicely on one's back. And someway to bring in the waist would have been nice as well. I bought the brown. Lovely color - different from others you see. I did get it on sale and find the $160 a little hefty in price for this jacket but the technology is unlike anything else I have seen. So for those living in cold country, the price is probably worth it. If you need to stay warm and stylish, you might really like this jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect coat for active person Perfect coat for the active person!!! Due to reviews stating it ran a bit small , I choose to go one size bigger and it fits perfect. Bought last years coat and it came with no hood and am in love with this years model with hood!! This coat folds up so small when not in use! I love how it keeps me warm without the bulk!!! A definite MUST HAVE!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A warm, practical everyday coat This coat is pretty great. It's unbelievably light, surprisingly warm, and works for just about any kind of fall/winter/spring weather. I followed other reviewers advice and ordered a size up. I would normally wear a 2X, but to be sure I could layer sweaters in the winter, I went with a 3X. The coat fits great in the arms, chest and length. But the middle torso looks like I'm wearing a garbage bag. It has no shape whatsoever through the middle. As wonderful as it is to have OPTIONS in a plus size with a brand I genuinely love, there is much work still to be done on how to design flattering clothing/outdoor wear for a plus size woman's body. Also, functionally, the hood isn't the most useful. Needs to be a bit deeper to allow it to come forward more, and needs a kind of draw string to prevent it from flying off when the wind gusts. But overall, this coat is what I had been searching for. Wish it looked a little nicer on my body, but I wouldn't return it for being way too big through the middle while it fits good in the chest, arms and hips. And for running around with the kids, spending time outside and doing errands around town, it doesn't get better than this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't order a size up! I just received this coat today. The colour was perfect. Unfortunately, I read the reviews, followed their suggestions and ordered a size up. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect lightweight everyday coat I absolutely love this coat. It's lightweight with incredible warmth and wind/rain protection. I like the small inside pocket to conveniently home my phone, tissues, etc. I purchased one size up so I could wear thick heavy sweaters underneath. It fits perfectly.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too big I read the reviews and most of them said to order one size bigger so I did order a 2X instead of 1X but it was way too big, so I have to return it and they don't have it in navy any more soooo I will try another kind because I found it very thin also.
