Rated 4 out of 5 by Mighty light I bought the medium and find that it fits a little tight in the hips but fine elsewhere. Sleeves are a great length with the thumb holes. I have only worn it in the 40 degree range. It seems to adapt to the temperature and I was comfortable not overly warm. I'm not sure how it would be once the real cold gets here and I would not use this to play in snow with my kids. The fabric feels very lightweight - not sure it would hold up to sledding, etc. Overall it is a good day to day coat. Great length and color. I got the gray and it's real nice. November 22, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by College Student Tundra I am a college student and I bought this coat last year and I am still in love with it! It is perfect for walking across campus in the bone chilling wind. It's not too heavy to carry in the mall or pack it into a backpack. Their is enough movement in the arms and across the chest to belay others on a rock wall. The only downside I have experienced is if I am standing still, I get chilly. So if I am going to be in my car (I don't have heat) driving home I wear I different coat. Overall I would buy it again and highly recommend it to others. November 20, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent It has an excellent quality and is cheaper than other similar jackets. It's light, comfortable and warm. Only has a little problem with the zipper: this works but no easy. November 16, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Not too bulky I love this style jacket. In the winter, it keeps me warm without the bulk of traditional jackets. And I live in Northern Michigan = COLD! The longer length helps when getting in/out of the car. November 12, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by If it only had a hood with a string tie... I would give this coat 5 stars if only the hood had a string tie. The coat itself is great, but, if you are walking into the wind the hood acts as a sail! Since I bought it specifically to go beach combing in the windy winter months - it was useless without modifications to the hood. I ended up adding a large hook and eye to the hood to make the coat usable. As usual with Columbia clothing I had to go up a size because they seem to cut their clothing large through the top and in the waist, but small in the hip and leg area. I am 5'6" tall and 115 lbs and needed to buy a medium for it to fit in the hip area. It was big through the top, but, that was OK because it allowed for wearing several layers. November 11, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Beautiful color (purple), plus warm & dry Right out of the bag I thought, "My this is thin!" But I tried it on and immediately was struck by the great shape (design) and warmth. Today was my first day outside with it (as its been unseasonably warm), and in the 40 degree rain I was both warm and dry. We shall see how it feels in the 20's and 30's as I stand out at the bus stop in the morning. November 9, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Sizes very small My wife normally wears an extra small and this is what we initially ordered. As this is a long coat, trying the coat, the shoulders were very tight and at the hips the coat would hardly close the zipper. Therefore we returned the xs and ordered a medium. This one fits well in both areas. The sleeves however are a little long but have been adjusted. We had also bought an omni heat jacket in Xs. This fits perfectly. No idea why the coat would have a cut in the manner to fit a bean pole. November 5, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Opposite of Waterproof!!!! I love this coat...BUT....I just wore it in some pretty bad rain and it was the complete opposite of waterproof -- almost became a sponge. I had water dripping down my chest INSIDE the jacket even though I had it zipped all the way and with the hood up. So disappointing and frustrating. October 30, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Great quality, but sizing... Originally purchased a medium; however, as a petite curvy female, the bust did not properly fit. Instead purchased a large and sizing fits, but pockets are too low to reach for someone that is petite. October 23, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome coat for the cold mountain winter This coat rocks! I will forever be a Columbia coat buyer after purchasing this. We live at 7000ft so its normal to wear coats for 7 months out of the year in CO. This coat is just what I was looking for- VERY warm, light, well-fitted with length, and of course cute. Although we haven't officially started winter, this coat is super warm on our 8am walks when it's 30 degress out. I have no doubt that it will be perfect when we drop even colder. I am 5 foot 3 about 115 and an athletic build-the small is perfect. October 18, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice jacket The jacket does run true to size. I ordered a Small, when I would usually order a Medium, because so many reviews said it ran big. It fits me perfect around my shoulders and chest, but it is tight through my hips/butt (and I am not a pear shape, so my hips are not that large compared to my shoulders). I can still zip it, but I will be exchanging it for the Medium so I can wear a sweatshirt underneath and still feel comfortable. I'm disappointed that I have to pay return shipping! However, I am excited to try it out on a cold WI winter day! The Omni Heat works amazing in my other jacket, so I assume it'll be just as warm with this jacket - without the added bulk! It almost feels like a spring jacket, since it's so light in weight. September 28, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great fit and color Nocturnal, size S. I am just under 5'5" and weigh between 123-125 lbs. This fits perfectly with a little extra room to layer if needed. The color is great. I haven't yet worn it during the cold but I have other omniheat attire that works wonders. My only worry is wearing my work bags/backpacks over the coat. I hope it doesn't wear down the material or cause a tear. But the coat is awesome. September 18, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Sara F Four friends tried this coat on and while we all liked it - it ran very small on all of us... September 14, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by not for full hips I bought a small in this jacket after reading many reviews about the fit. When it arrived, I found that the coat would not zip over my hips, but had ample room in the waist and chest area. I then ordered a size medium as I felt that would give me enough room to zip the coat comfortably. When the medium arrived, it was still snug in the hips but much roomier in the chest and arms. I bought the coat to attend football games, and wanted a longer coat to keep wind from blowing in when I sit down, but also to keep warm while sitting on metal bleachers. The jackets both hit at mid-thigh, which was exactly what I was hoping for. This jacket may not be the one for me, I am disappointed but may try the shorter version to see if that will work. September 10, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by super cute, great fit I am 5'6 155 pounds and I ordered a medium and it fits great... even with a layer underneath.. I havent had the opportunity to wear it in the cold yet, but it looks great September 9, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by The Classic Classy Winter Coat I find that omni-heat products always amaze me. This coat fits wonderfully (is a little loose but just enough for moving comfortably) and has awesome features. The pockets have zippers, hood is comfortable and a perfect size. My hair fit perfectly in the hood when I tried it on while having a ponytail. The thumb holes are a nice touch, especially for those with Reynaud's, like my sister. August 12, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Stylish, not super warm This coat is very stylish and looks good on. I live in VT, and it's nice for running around doing errands on a not too cold winter day, or for limited outside time. It is not all that warm. I am someone who always runs cold, so I don't think the omni heat works for me. I'm just cold all the time, so if I don't have much body heat, there's nothing to reflect back on me. I went ice skating in an indoor ice rink, so no wind and not too cold, and I had to layer a fleece jacket underneath. I was disappointed. This is definitly no replacement for down. I found the sizing to run very large. I tried on a small and was swimming in it. Had to get an xs. While I normally wear xs in clothing, I normally wear small in jackets. I'm 5'4", 118 lbs, thin and athletic. The quill color is beautiful. I just wish this was a little warmer! Style is great and feminine. Length is perfect. June 12, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great versatile coat! Very lightweight, not bulky, the material feels thin but the omni heat keeps you warm. I didn't want a bulky down-filled coat. I am 5'5", 114 lbs and ordered a small, fits great. I still wore a fleece on -30 deg days and was plenty warm and coat fit well. I currently live in upstate NY, wind chills hit -20 to -30 this winter... although i wasn't outside for extended periods of time, the coat was warm as I layered with a light fleece coat underneath. I typically feel cold indoors, so warmth was a big deal when purchasing a coat. This did the job without the extra bulkiness. Love the hood and the attached had warmers under my gloves. I did go sledding with kids (prob ard 20 deg out) and coat was great. Love the longer length to cover backside, the coat falls just above my knees. It is April and still wearing it bc its in the 30s here. Good investment in my opinion- I recommended this coat to my sisters in Michigan! April 9, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Light wt coat This coat seems to be working well for me. I work outside everyday and wanted something light, but warm. The only thing that I have noticed that I could be a bit different is the hood. The hood doesn't seem to be deep enough and I feel like I have to keep pulling it forward to protect my face from getting wet. Other then that the coat has been great. March 19, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not worth the money This is not a winter jacket. Well, maybe if your winters are 50 degrees and dry. It is not waterproof. Also, not warm at all. I went out with a fleece underneath in 40 degree weather and was still freezing. Zipper only works half the time and seems like it will give out soon. Also, a piece of the filling is already sticking out from one of the stitches. Very disappointed. March 16, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love it I love this coat. What I like the most is that it feels like you are not wearing anything at all. It is so light that it just feels like your clothes. It is very warm though. You won't regret a purchase of this coat. It does run one size small. Make sure to order the next size up for a comfortable fit. March 3, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Would have been a good coat but did not fit I liked the length (hovering knee), color (Tradewinds Grey) and lightness of the coat. It packs well and would have been great for travel. However it was way too large from chest down so it looked really baggy and I am particular about a fitted look. I'm 5ft 3" 103 lbs and don't think I can take XS as the shoulders of the S fit me. I am returning this product, but I think it would be ok for someone at least my height but fuller in the waist and hips. February 25, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Light weight and warm Florida girl in Chicago in February was warm after hours of walking around in this jacket. It is very light weight and fit in my carry on suitcase. Very warm. The hood is nice, however does not stay up in the wind, could use a string or button. I am 5'9 and it hits mid thigh which is a nice length. The medium fits perfect despite my broad shoulder. Love the deep purple color. February 19, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Love this jacket I absolutely love this jacket. It fits great, I can layer it over a sweatshirt or just wear it alone. The only complaint is that I ordered the color black and it looks very navy. Not a big deal but I was expecting it to be a more true black. Very light weight but super super warm February 14, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Very poor fit I ordered this coat in a size larger than I normally wear having seen others' comments about it running small. I was willing to put up with sleeves that were slightly too long, but the fit was so tight that I could barely zip it up. It was a great disappointment as I really liked the coat itself and was anxious to see how warm it would be in freezing temperatures. I had to return it. February 14, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great purchase I love this jacket. It is very light weight, but at the same time, it also keeps me very warm. I don't like big bulky coats. I get cold very easy. I definitely recommend Omni Heat!! February 13, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Dissappointed I was very disappointed in the coat. I felt it was a $140 price for a $30 coat and logo. I expected it to be warmer than it is. It was lightweight, I'll have to say. It is like wearing a windbreaker. I wore the coat for a month before I really got into any cold weather and saw what it was like, so I never sought a refund. February 12, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great jacket, flimsy fabric There is only one thing I don't like about this jacket: the fabric it's made of. It is extremely thin, which by itself is not much of a problem since it looks neither bad nor cheap. It didn't bother me until I happened to lightly brush my shoulder against a brick wall and it tore into and inch by inch hole. Well, a patch will fix that, but Columbia can do better than that. That, and maybe some cheerful colors? Otherwise, I'm very happy about the jacket in so many ways: for my 5'11", 145lbs the fit in size S is perfect with some room for layers in body and sleeves; sleeve lenght is pretty good for my height; even the hood is perfect, but it could be my weird fit with long neck and big head; it is incredibly light, which makes it very pleasant to wear after all the bulky winter jackets; it shields from cold winds and is warm enough to wear in 15°F in Boston (with a sweater and a tee underneath). Great for running errands in winter! February 12, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by coat Really love the thin-ness of the coat and still has the warmth. The length is perfect! February 10, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Higly recommended! Loved it! Great coat, very light very thin, easy to carry and to travel with (don't need a lot of space in the suitcase) and the most important thing - very very warm! I've been to PA last week with -15C (5 fahrenheit) degrees, I only needed to wear a tank top, a light long sleeve short and a light sweater with it and it kept me really warm - AMAZING! fit true to size. February 9, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfection in a coat! no leaking goose feathers! It's everything I shopped for in the worlds largest mall only to find I could do it all on line and not put husband through the drama! Only wish it came in PETITE sizes for my arms aren't long but wanted the extra room for a bulky sweater to wear under coat. February 7, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by warm very warm but the zipper can be tough. Ordered the grey and it is more blue than I expected. Overall, a great coat. February 6, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great coat! Great coat! Very lightweight, but warm. I wore this in -5 degree weather (but had layers under of course) and was comfortable. I like the length, it's perfect! The only thing is I ordered up in size since I read this ran small, and it doesn't at all. I got the M and it is a little big, the idea of the Omni Heat is to trap in heat against your body, so it's supposed to be a snug fit. I can easily put 2 thick sweaters on in the Medium. I am 5'7 and lanky with a slim build for reference. I was happy that the sleeves were long enough as usually they never are. This coat is great! I keep thinking I am going to freeze since the feel of this is so thin, but it's been great so far in Chicago weather. Great job Columbia!! February 6, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by I don't know what people are complaining about.... This coat RULES! I was surprised at how thin and light it was, but holy cow, it's AMAZINGLY WARM! It was 9 degrees this morning and I walked out with thick leggings and a long sleeve shirt under a sweater and this coat kept me warm my entire commute. I was legit sweating by the time I got to my train stop. It may be lightweight, but it packs a punch if you layer right underneath. TTS for me, I don't think it fits too small at all - I was able to layer comfortably in my regular size. February 3, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great coat I really like this coat. It fits well and I love the thumb holes on the comfort cuffs. They really make such a difference. It's a great shade of purple and so light. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 stars simply because it requires extra layers when it's below 30 degrees. Also, the pockets are a little low. February 2, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing for Winter Weather I go to UW Madison, so winter is real here. When I first got the coat, I was afraid that the winds would whip right through it and I'd be cold. After using it, this does not happen. This coat keeps me warmer than my down coat does, while not being as heavy. It amazed me, especially when I walked through below zero temperatures with an extremely cold windchill. I highly recommend this coat. February 1, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good product, but beware of "gray" color This is a good jacket overall. It's lightweight but will still keep you warm, and I love the thumb hooks! Two complaints: 1) the zipper is often difficult to get started, and 2) the gray color is more like periwinkle. I originally ordered the gray expecting a light gray jacket, as pictured. It cost me $27 to ship it back and get the black. February 1, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Women's Mighty Lite Hooded Jacket I purchased this jacket for a January trip to NYC. It was perfect for the Arctic blast that had hit the city a few days before my trip. I am a cold-natured person, and my upper body stayed toasty warm in the windy 20 degree weather. February 1, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Comfy My daughter has this jacket and couldnt say enough about it. So I ordered one. It's comfy and cozy and fits well, except the sleeves are too long. I am not a short woman (5'7"), and I have to roll the sleeves up. I'm a size 8 and I ordered a medium. I like the lightweight feel of this jacket because I'm in my car a lot and other jackets get too hot and are bulky. I took it for a walk to town the other day when it was really cold outside -January in northern Michigan - and it was fine. January 28, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect for Oregon weather I really love this jacket. It's very warm and very comfortable but still looks very chic and not at all bulky. Flattering fit. Somehow it seems to keep me at the perfect temp weather its 35 out or its 50 (??) and it layers really well under my long rain coat when necessary. LOVE the fleece lined pockets and collar, and especially the little sleeves you can stick your thumbs into. All in all a perfect coat for a place where it doesn't get too cold, but pretty chilly :) I am 5 ft 3 in and 120 lbs, and the XS fits like a glove. I am however pretty small chested and it fits my chest/shoulders very well, so maybe bump up a size if you're a bit bustier (though waist might not fit as well, then...). Did order a Small originally and it was too baggy all over. January 28, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Warmth and Sophistication! I have been looking for a jacket like this for several months now and am very pleased with my purchase. This jacket is exceptionally warm with a thinner, more fitted look which is exactly what I was going for. Although it is thin and more fitted, it is hard to wear bulkier clothing under but as I stated above, it provides adequate warmth on it's own. I am 5'3 and purchased a size small and the length is perfect, just above the knee. I absolutely love the fact that the sleeves have the more fitted, hand coverings with thumbholes. You never get snow inside the arm of your jacket, the sleeves don't ride up and it provides extra hand warmth without wearing gloves. I would highly recommend this jacket for anyone that is looking for a warm, more sophisticated winter jacket. January 26, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Got two! I got this for my wife so she would stop putting my coat over hers when she went outside to walk the dog. She absolutely loves everything about it! We were visiting her parents and her mother liked it SOO much I got one shipped to her too. Couldn't be happier with how lightweight and warm it is. Highly recommended. plus my wife and mother said it looks slimming too! January 24, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this coat! But careful when picking a color. I recently purchased this coat and immediately fell in love with it! I have a lightweight, shorter coat but wanted a longer one to battle the Cleveland wind & snow and keep my rear covered. I hate nothing more than a bulky coat which causes me to sweat during my 15 min walk from my parking lot into my office. This coat is AWESOME! It's lightweight but incredibly warm...but not too warm. Must be the Omni-Heat technology that allows the coat the breath. It's incredibly comfortable as well. I noticed when ordering that Columbia noted that it runs small so I measured myself according to the specified guidelines and ordered a medium rather than a large. I didn't want the coat to feel bulky. I'm a size 8-10 and it fits perfect. I have room in the arms & waist and can move easily. Its more fitting in the hip but that might just be my body shape. I would like to caution future buyers on the color. I ordered Tradewinds Grey but it's more of a slate blue color. I really like the color but its not a traditional grey. Just my advice to make sure you like to color...I almost ordered Abyss at first thinking it was black based on the photo. But other than that, I think it's a fantastic coat if you're looking for something warm & lightweight. January 22, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wow! She Looks Great In This Coat! I purchased this coat for my wife. She loves it and she looks wonderful in it (actually she always looks wonderful, but the coat is just icing on the cake!). We thought she might need an XL but went with the Large and it fits perfectly! That may mean the item runs just a TEENY bit large. January 22, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this jacket! The Columbia Mighty Lite Jacket, style #1468771, is a stylish jacket that will keep you warm in even the coldest of months. Living in a cold state, such as Wisconsin, makes having a durable winter coat a necessity. With this jacket, winter activities such as ice skating, visiting the Christmas tree farm, or even strolling through neighborhoods to look at holiday lights, more enjoyable. The jacket features a long silhouette with individual insulated layers throughout. It also features a detachable hood, available with a faux-fur trim if you so desire. This product is designed for on-the-go women who are looking for a jacket to keep them warm while taking part in various winter activities, or for the everyday lifestyle of a woman living in a state with cold winters. The target market leans towards women looking to spend a little more than they would for the typical winter coat, as this jacket rings in at $140 before shipping and handling, if purchased online. I have owned this coat for about three months now, and am very pleased with it. I purchased it right as temperatures were starting to drop in Wisconsin, and still use it to this day, when the high temperatures may be below zero. I like the detachability of the hood, because it’s nice to have one when it’s snowing, but sometimes I prefer to remove it due to the staticness it gives my hair because of the faux-fur trim. I also like the length, as it keeps more of your body warm than the average jacket would, due to its long silhouette. The jacket is very durable, and great quality without being too bulky. This product is definitely worth the price tag attached. It’s extremely durable, and I can tell it will last for many years to come. I would recommend this product to my friends, because it is stylish and makes Wisconsin winters much more bearable. January 22, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect light coat I love this coat. It's light but warm for those days that start out really cold and then warmer as the day goes. I wanted something longer and lighter that I could go from car to store without getting too hot. The zipper opens from the bottom so that when I'm in the car I can open it up so the zipper doesn't split, great feature. I normally wear a large so I bought the large. It does fit a little snugger which I read it previous reviews but it fits perfect. Highly recommend. January 22, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Warm, lightweight, perfect This jacket is exactly what I've been looking for. I'm a commuter, so weight is important to me. In the south, you might need a warm coat in the morning, but by afternoon you're carrying it in your backpack. This coat is lightweight and easily folds into the large section of my pack. As with other reviewers, I found the jacket to fit small. I'm 5' 10" and not super fit but not fat either. Typically wear a ladies L, but based on other reviews I ordered an XL, which fits fine and allows room for a sweater or layering underneath. Quality looks excellent and I had no problems with the zipper as other reviewers stated. The zipper comes all the way up, creates a collar to keep my chin warm, and the hood fits great. January 20, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Sharp and Functional! I love the extended thumb holes! I am 5'7" and 133lbs, and hour glass shape. I ordered a XS and though it fits well I wish I had gotten a S because it would allow for thicker layers underneath. It is very thin, but very comfortable and warm. The length on me is mid/upper thigh. I am very happy with it as a dress coat and occasional fashion coat but would not wear it for extended periods outside. January 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great coat! I normally don't like coats in this style, but I also hate winter so I caved in and bought it after seeing the great reviews. I wasn't super optimistic once it came in since it was very thin, but it's actually amazing at keeping you warm! I love that it's able to do that without being one of those bulky puffy coats. It states that it runs a little small. I measured myself and found out that I would be a small. The small has enough room to wear layers and not be tight, which I like. I definitely recommend it.
