Women's Newton Ridge™ Plus is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 56.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from The tongue pops out Everything about the boot is good EXCEPT that no matter how I lace them, the tongue comes un-tucked within a minute, which lets in twigs, thorns and burrs, which gather around my ankle. It acts like a catcher's mitt, which isn't good when you're working in and around thorny blackberry bushes. This design flaw makes me not want to recommend this boot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stylish and functional These boots were exactly what I was looking for! I hunted for a boot that was stylish and yet still comfortable to hike in. These are everything. They look good, are comfortable, are durable, and kept my feet dry and happy on the trails. Definitely recommend!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Painful toe crease I wanted so badly to love these, but unfortunately the toe creased every time I stepped and caused a painful pressure point across my toes. I tried to break them in around the house to no avail. I'll be returning these.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pretty, but small and uncomfortable The shoes are pretty. However, they run very narrow. The material is hard and buckles in the toes when you walk. It feels like it will pinch my toes off when moving at a normal pace. This isn't the normal rate for new boots needing breaking in. They are so snug they cut my circulation off and if I leave them loosened the tops bulge out. The laces are entirely to short as well for any comfortable adjustment. I could try them in a wider size, but I am not sure that would change the pinch points. I normally wear a 10 narrow, which can run a little large on me, especially in boots, but it gives my feet room to swell, so I ordered the standard to be safe.- That is not the case this time. Which is sad as the length seems perfect, which is a rare occasion for me in any shoe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boots These boots are amazing. I bought them shortly before a camping trip to the Smoky Mountains and they barely needed to be worn ahead to break in. Very comfortable. I wear them to work sometimes when the weather is bad and have gotten a lot of compliments on them. I also love that Columbia didn't have to make them look like "girl boots" and that they just look like boots. I had a hard time finding a pair without pink and aqua and whatever that would fit me. I read that they ran a little small and people recommended going a half size up. I did so, nervously, and they fit perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great hiking boot! Love this boot. So much that I bought a second pair for in the future. Extremely comfortable. I wore to go hiking in a rain forest and they kept my feet completely dry. Highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for desert hiking Love the leather toe and upper for desert hiking. Keeps out sand, gravel, and the random cholla spines! This is my second pair from Columbia with similar style--my old pair is retired from hiking since the tread is worn but it's still great for walking in sand and dirt on the flat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these!! I purchased mine at Cabela's, i live in Anchorage and needed shoes that i could put spikes on per the icy roads. These caught my eye and i instantly fell in love with them. There super light weight so you dont feel like your wearing lead shoes, the arch like some one stated is actually comfortable there are other brands that are way worse. There narrow which in my case is a necessity since i have small feet, i was really surprised that the 6.5 size actually fits since im usually looking for a a 5.5 or 6.0, I loved them so much that i bought my daughter a pair from Columbia.com, she is an avid hiker in Washington :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fit true to size! I really like these boots they have awesome quality in the build; I don't yet know how they function as I haven't gotten to take them out yet but my husband has the men's version and loves them! One thing, most reviews on here say they run small but they are true to your athletic shoe size. I bought big and had to return (not fun) and then buy my true size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These boots are perfect! I live at Lake Tahoe, and I was looking for boots with great traction for ice & snow, and high enough for warmth in the cold. These filled the bill perfectly. They are warm, comfortable, fit well with thick winter socks (even 2 pairs!) and have terrific traction. I couldn't be happier with them. I bought two pairs in 2 colors, that's how great I think they are. I wear them pretty much every day in the winter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great purchase I work outside much of the time and do a lot of hiking in my spare time. I've had a hard time finding a boot that can keep up with me but this boot has been great and is very tough. It is also very comfortable

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A very durable but extremely comfortable boot. I love these boots for all around use. These boots are very well made, tough, good strong long lasting soles, and stitching has never failed. Extremely comfortable. I wear them out with jeans and in the woods when I go hunting. These are my all time favorite boots. Love them!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Women's Newton ridge plus hiking boot Wonderful hiking boot. I broke them in for only about a week and took them on miles of hiking on and off trails in the PNW and they were wonderful. They give great ankle and foot support, they have great traction, and are extremely comfortable to wear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Boots I have hiked in snow, mud, rain, and ice. These boots keep your feet warm and dry. They have a good tread and keep you from fall on slippery surfaces. Keeps feet happy on rocky surfaces. I highly recommend these boots!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Has great features, BUT So I received these boots as a graduation present because I now reside in Colorado for college, and I love the outdoors. There are a few specific reasons I rated them 4/5, so i'll explain. They are my first pair of hiking boots and I made a very rookie mistake in not breaking them in in the slightest before heading out on a medium/moderate terrain 7.5 mile hike. Literally took them out of the box and headed out to the mountains. I did notice right off the bat though that even though I don't have a high arch, the arch of my right foot was aching within half an hour of the trek from lack of support there. I brushed it off and realized too late that preparation should have been taken beforehand, so I didn't have to suffer through 5 hours of being on my feet with this. The crease did hurt my toes, although I did expect at least that since the leather/product is brand new and needs time to soften. My hiking socks are also Columbia brand since it's been my favorite for winter boots etc, but I will be looking for new socks with more cushion to help with the lack of arch support and overall cushion in the sole of the boot, as well as looking for in-soles for more support. I really enjoy the aesthetic of the boot, and wished there was more support in the soles, and that the tongue of the boot didn't stick out funny as it did after being laced up, which may have played a role in why i'm a little sore around the ankles as well; the boot itself was a smidgen loose around my ankle because of that. If you have more of a flat foot, are ready to spend a little more money on some in-soles, or are just looking for a good quality boot with less cushion, these are right for you. The omni-grip is amazing and I didn't slip once whilst scaling boulders and they were a breeze on uneven terrain. I also got size 6.5 (quarry/ blue wave) as I usually wear a size 6, and I have the perfect amount of space for thick socks. Overall I feel very hopeful with these boots and that'll i'll be able to break them in and modify them to fit my needs because in a few weeks I am planning a 14er mountain hike, and these boots have a good frame to my standards, and I would love to actually be comfortable in my boots. I hope this review is helpful!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply wonderful boots I'm normally in between an 8 & 8.5, so I got size 8.5 and they were perfect, I could also wear two pears of thick socks and still be comfortable. I used these boots for the first time hiking up a mountain. I realized that probably wasn't the best decision because the boots had yet to be broken in, but I had no problems whatsoever. They kept my feet warm in 21° weather (& that's hard to do with my feet), kept them cool while I was hiking, and kept them dry in snow. To sum it up, I was in awe of how perfect these boots were and couldn't believe how good my feet felt after hiking, despite hiking at a constant incline for 8 hours straight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I wanted I'm new to hiking, and I wanted to get a pair of boots that would give me the support I needed. I haven't hiked in them yet, but wearing them around the yard so far they feel great!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from TRUE TO SIZE I read the reviews in this page and decided to buy a number more than I usualy get (I`m a 6 and got a 6.5). I can`t use them, probably will have to sell them. Do not make this mistake. I`m very sad because I loved this boots, they seem to be very confortable and I won`t be able to use them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wanted to like these boots.... Was really excited about these boots, and they fit me perfectly. I worked on breaking them in before using them on a larger hike. Once I used them on a larger hike to reach a summit, my feet were trashed. I got 5 blisters and they are still healing more than a week after the hike. I'm bummed cause I really wanted to hike a lot this summer, and waiting for my feet to heal sucks. I love the look of these boots and the durability seems good, but it's comfort evidently isn't good when going on longer hikes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 4 years I had this pair of boots for 4 years. I wear them when I'm going in the woods, yard work, fishing, anything. It's not a winter boot, it's light, sturdy, comfy. My pair lasted 4 years before I had to retire them because they were no longer waterproof. I tried a different brand and regret it. I'll be buying another pair very soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shoe This is a very comfortable shoe. I have worn it working outside and just walking. The may be a bit narrow, but not too much that it bothers my feet. I wear a 7.5 shoe. I ordered the 8 and it fits perfectly. A little hard to get on at first until they loosen up a little. Would definitely recommend!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Boots Love these boots. I wear them for my job when I work out in the field and they are very comfortable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Runs a little wide, Feels kind of cheap I run between a 7.5 and an 8, so ordered an 8. It runs just a tad big both in length and width, but I have narrow feet so anyone with normal feet is probably fine. The shoes in general have a great design. I like the simplistic look of them and the shape of the toe - though I wish the brown wasn't so deep in color. Columbia could get a lot of traction selling these shoes with a lighter brown and some colorful laces. The shoes do feel a little bit cheaply made compared to other Columbia shoes. I'm returning them because of the wide fit, however.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Work or Outdoors I bought this because I needed new waterproof boots for when I would be outside working in the rain. I have been outside in torrential downpours and it is AMAZING!! My feet were dry and comfortable and that was the only reason I could tolerate such weather! Only thing is that the boots aren't too great in weather below 32 degrees F, need thick socks and toe warmers!!! Only thing is that the material immediately around the toes is wearing down, but I think that it will be okay.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pair of all weather hiking boots. Wore it in the snow, hiked with it in the rain, and fell into a river hiking with them on. My socks remained dry, and my feet comfy. Better and more durable than my sneakers, and I love my sneakers. They do run a little bit big, but I still got my original size and wore thick socks with them while hiking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great hiking boot! After reading the reviews, I decided to go 1/2 size up from my normal size and I feel like it was a great choice! I did feel the material bending into the top of my foot the first few times but it went away after the leather softened. I can't get over how light they are! They are very comfortable and I love the grey color! I wear them daily, as long as there isn't too much snow outside :)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Returned them! I returned this item as the foot bed of the shoe was horrible and likened a hard piece of cardboard and did not have an arch support. Very unlike their Winter coat line of products. It cost me almost $11 to ship back to Columbia, ugh!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Boots creased & hurt toes Great quality, light, true size for me, 7. Problems: boots creased & hurt toes; can not return after wearing them outside. Not sure how to test hiking boots without hiking?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice lightweight boots These boots were not hot in mid summer in Florida and that is saying something! Very comfortable from the first wear, but I use orthaheel insoles. Not as much toe room as my Merrells but adequate. I love them. I am a letter carrier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nature Lover Love love love these boots!! Fit is perfect and I find myself hating to take them off. Rated 5 out of 5 by from These babies took on ZionNP & Bryce Canyon Excellent through heat & rain. Hugged the terrain. So much better than a sneaker. I thought the rigid ankle support would bother me, NOT. I have flat feet & these supported them without inserts. I didn't break them in prior to our ZionNP & Bryce Canyon trip & thank goodness they were so comfy from the get go I could wear them throughout the day. I purchased 1/2 size larger because of adding hiking socks & for expansion of feet through the day. I originally wanted blue but then decided brown it would hide the dirt better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great All Around Boot I work with sled dogs. I hike, bike, and play a lot in the great outdoors. These boots are incredibly versatile and well worth the investment. They are even good in the wet Alaskan weather that we have kept my feet dry even in the wettest of conditions. When worn with a pair of thick thermal socks, your feet will stay warm but never get too warm. I've already ordered a second set.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a Happy Camper So looking forward to getting these boots. When I ordered them I noticed others mentioning they ran small so I ordered 1/2 size larger, so the fit was fine. However, when I tried the boot on it was stiff, uncomfortable and offered little to no padding to support my foot. I could already anticipate the blisters I was going to get on my first hike. I decided to forego the hiking and simply returned them before they could do any damage. So very disappointed. This was a reminder to me of the reason why I rarely purchase footwear online.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good light-weight hiking shoe Bought these for my daughter and was told: Nice, yet tough, shoes. Held up well to hiking in Canada. Comfortable even after several days in the woods.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looking forward to buying a second pair Fits and feels like a glove! I also like that it gives lots of support on the sides but has a gentle u shape in the back of the ankle to further support but not rub. The soles have very comfortable padding and good traction. I wore these in the summer on trail and light brush with hiking socks and they kept my feet fairly cool. I will definitely be getting a second pair!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally found a replacement for my old Columbias I've been trying to find a replacement for another pair of Columbias that I have worn for years - and many, many miles. This pair does it. They are comfortable, pretty cool on hot days even with heavy socks. and waterproof. First time in years at Scout Camp that I didn't think about my feet! Even after 12 hours. Recommend getting a1/2 to full size larger than street shoe size but that's wise with most hiking boots so you can accommodate heavier socks. I love how the treads do not hang onto clumps of mud (doesn't track into the car)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Hikers Around I just purchased my 2nd pair of the Newton Ridge hiking boots. The first pair were so comfy I wore them most of the time. These boots are durable, comfortable, great traction & ankle support, waterproof uppers, easy to clean and care for. I have worn these in the city, hiking in the Smokey's to around the farm, just a great boot!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from worth the price!! I was nervous about paying 90.00 plus for a pair of shoes on line with out trying them on, but after researching the boot and reading other reviews I went for it, and I am glad I did, I just joined a hiking group and they have been very comfortable esp. on the 10 plus mile long hikes!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boot I bought these boots for work. I work outside in south Florida so it's really important for me to have boots that are durable, lightweight and water proof. These boots cover all three of those requirements. I have a slightly wider foot and these boots are roomy and comfortable. They also have excellent traction and ankle support. Overall great boot!
