Women's Pardon My Trench™ Rain Jacket - Plus Size is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 49.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Jacket for Many Occasions I bought this as a sports jacket, but find that it is the perfect one for folding up and dragging around in case of wind or rain. I bought it sized generously so I could wear a wool jacket or quilted vest underneath. The 2-way zipper, vented back yoke, hood, and breathable water-proof fabric were that interested me in this jacket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than the other reviews made me think For a similar price, it is difficult to find a good quality plus size rain jacket. I decided to try this one for its reasonable price point compared to the competitors. I was worried after reading the other reviews, but as a savvy outdoors-woman, I knew this was a SHELL coat, which means that if you don't layer under it, you may get the sensation of cold/wet transfer to your skin. Overall, water beads on the surface of this coat and doesn't appear to soak through, although I haven't yet tried it in prolonged wet weather. The zipper on mine was perfectly good (some reviewers thought it was hard to do up, but it's really not) and the double zipper is great for undoing from the bottom up to allow for more comfortable wear while sitting (in a car, for example) or to keep the coat unzipped but not windblown. The size was a bit larger than I anticipated (2X fit me easily with room for a fairly bulky sweater underneath - I wear a size 20 top and bottom). And I had actually looked at the sizing measurements and measured myself. I was on the cusp of 1X and 2X so I ordered the larger size to allow for a sweater layer for cooler weather. If I intend to be out in the rain for a very prolonged time, I might toss a small poncho in my bag for extra protection, but again, I haven't yet tried this coat out in the pouring rain for very long. The back vent is fantastic for allowing air flow - although armpit vents would be make this a better hiking coat. I love the colour (red/coral) and the waistbelt helps define my waist instead of normal plus size coats which just hang and make me look round. Overall - a very good review. I can't wait to bring this on my trip to Scotland this summer where it will be truly battle tested in the rain and I will post a follow up review after standing out in some pouring rain. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shape, not breathable The shape is great and has a nice professional and feminine cut. It is nice and lightweight but I really wish it was fully lined like the Arcadia. It is not breathable and you end up pretty damp inside if you do any sort of physical activity. Great for wearing to work, but definitely a no go for hiking. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Cute I've only just got this but I love it. It fits perfectly. The style is cute and flattering. It is light weight but not cheap feeling in anyway. We'll see how it does in heavy rain, but so far it is just what I wanted!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight, feminine, nice color This had a lot of the features I was looking for. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it doesn't have underarm air holes or back ventilation. I like it's lightweight portability, practical color and feminine length and belt to accent waistline.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was a great purchase Bought one for myself and my daughter, we love them. Very fashionable and serves the purpose! Glad we bought them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flattering Fit I'm in love with this rain coat. It has a very flattering fit for plus size. Nice long arms too. The red is gorgeous.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but zipper doesn't work well I really liked this jacket when I saw it in the store but the zipper was incredibly hard to get going and there was only one left in my size. So, I ordered it online, but have the same problem. Luckily there are snaps to use instead. Rest of the jacket is really good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Customer service I was happy with my purchase and was very impressed with the ease of ordering, the helpfulness of REAL people in customer service and the ease of returning item that didn't fit. I will come back here for any future needs and will recommend this site.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Color was as expected though Even though the trench rain jacket didn't fit me properly, it's still a nice jacket & seems to block out the elements. The sleeves were a little short & I don't have hips so I looked nothing near the model.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Versatile Rain Jacket I loved this jacket, I felt that it was a little large though. It is a great rain jacket for Spring/Summer. Mine seemed to be a bit bigger than I was expecting but because it is a light rain jacket, it will work with a sweater underneath. My only complaint is that the belt tends to untie a decent amount
Date published: 2016-04-20
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Basic I wanted a light jacket for the spring so I ordered this. Rec'd it and yes it's light - I could probably fold it up and put it in my purse if I didn't need to wear it. I also like that it's a longer jacket and covers my behind. What I don't like: the waist tie is attached to the jacket so I looks funny if not tied. The cuffs have buttons and even the tightest adjustment is too wide and still slips my entire hand through it. Other than that, it's okay for what I need. It's not a bad jacket but I can't recommend it if I'm not totally satisfied with it myself.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not impressed Looks & feels cheap. I'm bought 3 different Columbia jackets in various styles/ sizes, but must say I'm highly disappointed. Very cheap quality even at the sale price :-/

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome I Love The Jacket the only thing I don't like The Columbia Logo Not on it It would Bring more to it with a White Logo
Date published: 2016-03-16
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not Water Resistant I bought this knowing full-well that it was just a shell. All I wanted was something water resistant. I wore this in a light rain and my arms were soaked. Did it do a better job than a cotton sweatshirt? Yes. Did it do the job I expected of a trench coat with 'rain' in it's name? Absolutely not. Returning it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A gift for my wife Saw this on sale and bought it for my wife as a just because gift. I have not given it to her yet but it looks very nice and light weight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect rain jacket and day layer I'm obsessed with this jacket. The length is great, long enough to cover your bottom in the back and all necessary parts in the front. The waist belt makes for a feminine shape, but the jacket is casual for running around in tennis shoes. The quality is great, and the jacket is thin and unlined which works well for rain without the cold. It was the ideal top layer while hiking in the PNW last week. I highly recommend it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from rain jacket ran a bit larger than i expected, and the material was a lot stiffer than i was looking for. it was sort of an uncomfortable fabric, but i suppose it would be light and useful if you were out in the pouring rain. ultimately i returned this product, but i'm sure it would work well as a rain coat, just not what i was looking for particularly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from good rain jacket Bought for my mom. Pictures looked a lot better online. Looked thicker than it actually was. But if used just as a outer rain jacket it does the job. Material was really thin.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Inferior quality I have many Columbia products and find the quality to be very good. When I received the trench coat which I ordered online, I was very disappointed. The material was terrible - cheap, almost like a good drop cloth. And no Columbia logo - not surprising since the quality is so bad. Needless to say, I returned it.
Date published: 2015-12-17
Rated 1 out of 5 by from don't bother Looks nice online but once you get it it just looks like a garbage bag and not like the picture at all. Horrible quality and the zipper gets stuck every time I attempted to try and wear it. Stupidly took the tags off otherwise I would've returned this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from everyday rain coat perfect, great for shopping, or anytime you have to dash out in the rain. quality is great, thank you

Rated 3 out of 5 by from "Rain" Jacket... I fell in love with the jacket (and the price), so I bought it even after reading mixed reviews about the jacket's poor waterproofing. Although a lovely coat, I would never consider it a "rain jacket" as it's much more water resistant than waterproof. I wore it in light rain with an umbrella and it somehow still let water through. I'm guessing it has to do with the lack of lining in the jacket. Although I have gotten a lot of compliments on the coat and am still a Columbia fan, I'm ultimately disappointed with the quality of this jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great jacket!! This jacket is soo confortable!! It fits me to a T!!! It moves with me very well during the rainy times.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Packable, light, stylish This jacket is quite stylish and is great for travel. It packs light and takes up little room.
Date published: 2015-10-12
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not exactly as pictured; pink drawcord I ordered this jacket in peatmoss. The style, weight, and fit is great. The major problem is that the peatmoss jacket is shown with a green drawcord around the hood and the one I received has a bright pink cord. I ordered this directly from Columbia and not a department store (where I get a discount for having a credit card and could have purchased this slightly cheaper) specifically because Columbia's was pictured with a green drawstring and I think this is a nicer, more grown-up, mature look. The pink makes it look cheap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from loved this raincoat Comfortable. Roomy. Pockets. Belted. All awesome. The length was perfect. I wore when out for a casual walk, but also over my work clothes. Sadly, I left it in a rental car and I need to buy a new one. Getting the same exact jacket, since I loved it so much.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Crunchy This rain coat is okay. I was disappointed upon receipt because it is crunchy. Another reviewer said it wasn't, but it is. I really like the material in the "Sweet As" jackets but this is not like that. It has nice hood coverage and adjustable wrist snaps though and it is a good length. A 1x fit well. I am a 16-18.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pardon My Trench I like my trench coat it came fast in delivery, cost was about what I expected to pay. Was disappointed that I had to go online to get it, I went to Columbia in the outlet mall in Lincoln City to get one and they didn't have it, and was glad that I went and bought a coat at the mall. I had to take it back because it was too small, So I knew that ordering online what size I had to get, They run about two sizes small. I like the one I have it is going to do the job I wanted. I wanted a coat that came down over my hips and this one does. Most coats are hip level.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like it overall I like this jacket, the style is perfect for an easy hike or a rainy day in the city. The picture on the site does not representative of the actual product. In fact, I think it is actually a different item all together. The color is more of a olive drab (the picture makes it look more of a brownish green) and there is no drawstring in the hood at all. The length is great, coming long over the hips. I wore it walking around Washington DC the other day, and it there is very little ventilation, and no lining, so it can get a bit sweaty. But, for a lightweight rain jacket, I like it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Rain Jacket I tried a different famous brand rain jacket because, at the time, Columbia did not have a tan colored jacket in my size. That jacket was hot, it rained hard and I got soaked. I immediately got rid of the jacket. I was disappointed because it coordinated with a lot of my outfits. I was really excited to see Columbia had this color in my size and with a stylish belt. It performed amazing like all Columbia rain jackets. Held up to the Pacific Northwest rain and I stayed dry and comfortable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too lightweight I love the color of this jacket, very bright and vibrant. However, this jacket felt like paper; it was extremely thin and it makes that woosh woosh noise that's so annoying. This terrible material is not worth the price. The cut of the coat is ok but the hips portion is still a little snug while the top is really big.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every penny With spring coming and my raincoat having ripped last fall I figured it was time for a new one. I saw this coat online and figured it might be just what I was looking for, it absolutely is!! Not only does it keep me dry in the rain, it warm without making me too hot. It fits like a glove and I just feel amazing every time I put it on :) I would definitely recommend this to my family and friends - and have thought about buying one in every color

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Too Cute 2 Pass By This is a rain coat that does as it should by protecting from the elements and is nicely designed. From my own rating 1-10..10 being AWESOME.. I give this coat a 10 plus for functionality and style. I'm a size 16-18 women"s. I have a full bust and arms..I had to go a size up for comfort 3X

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Color is my only small complaint This is a very nice rain jacket. It's hard to find a real water-repellent coat or jacket in plus sizes, but this fits the bill. I'm a little disappointed with the color--not the nicest shade of olive ever, and mine does not have the contrasting pull cord to the hood, which brightens it in the picture. Still, I am very pleased with the attached tie belt (not going to lose it) and the fabric, which is sturdy but not terribly heavy. I will wear this as a layer when on a train or plane as well as on rainy days.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not for apple shapes This is a really well made coat but for my apple shape, it looks terrible. I bought a size up to wear layers, do not do that. If you have a small waist and (very) large hips, it probably works great. I had to return it back because of the extreme a-line, bell shape to the bottom of the coat. With the belt tied, I looked 20lbs larger. You could not take the belt off, untied, it still was very bell-shaped.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Raincoat !!!!! I love all the attention to details and I REALLY love the two-way zipper. I purchased the PeetMoss which is a great color. I would highly recommend this raincoat, especially for anyone living in a rainy climate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE LOVE LOVE! This jacket is everything I was looking for: light weight, vented, and keeps the rain off! I walk a lot and need a shield from the cold but also something light and not insulated so I don't sweat a lot. This is it! True to size, and I can fit a sweatshirt underneath.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but the zipper!!! Needed a rain jacket, this is more than functional, fits well, but the zipper - oy! When I bought it, would have LOVED to see the inside of the jacket, as I would have preferred a bit of lining. But it does keep me dry, has ample bustline room (which is always an issue for me) and was a good value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy! I bought six (6), yes 6, different rain jackets, and returned all, but this one. I am plus size, but fairly active. Unfortunately, at times it makes it difficult to find the right item that also fits. I wanted a packable rain jacket that was water proof, a little longer, had an attached hood, and could be used for both casual and if needed, for something more. This jacket fits the bill. I bought the sage color which is a little different than my normal black, but still neutral. I ended up bringing it with me for a fishing trip on the lake. Was very glad I did. Fog rolled in full force while we were out, I put my jacket on, tightened up the hood, and came home dry. Packs nicely, keeps you dry, and has some shape and fashion to it. I actually like the built in belt because it gives me some shape and dresses the jacket up a bit. So...end result...I recommend it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for a Spring Weekend - can't wait for Fall! I purchased this jacket before a long weekend in PDX that was set to be a classic NW spring: Rainy (umbrella optional) with a need for sunglasses. I also wanted something that was structured/formal - but would be appropriate in a casual setting. This jacket fit the bill. I was a great waterproof layer for mid-level temperatures. My only improvement would be to add zips/vents in the underarms - which would have made it perfect for popping in/out of doors, short hikes, etc. (The back vent is great!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Head over heels So I have to say that I am completely in love with this jacket. As an Oregonian the weather can always be a pain. You never know if it is going to pour or be warm. I bought this jacket in December and have used it almost every day since. I completely love it. I bought the grey one and it is a fabulous color. I bought it for a purpose and have ended up using it as my everyday coat. It is light weight enough that I can wear it over a sweater or bulky top without cooking under it and it still does a great job keeping me dry. I also get a ton of compliments on it. I was a little worried about the length with my height, (I'm only 5'2') but it's a great length and would be great on someone taller than me. I don't usually take the time to write reviews about items, but I am truly smitten with this one and rave about it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tailored Wind Breaker Nice and stylish, I felt very comfortable in the Pacific NW, on the Olympic Peninsula this March. I would have liked a light weight liner for a little added warmth, but it packed flat taking up little space, which was nice. Being a Plus Size woman I took off the belt, and the jacket hung very nicely with a slight curve at the waist.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most functional, versatile jacket in my closet I'm not sure how I got by without this! Works great as a rain jacket--not bulky, but has a flattering fit. On cooler days I can wear slim sweaters under it to keep warm as well. The 'mercury' color is great, a blueish gray that's fairly neutral. The belt is a little odd on a jacket of this length, but I still like it. The jacket overall breathes well--I wore it on a rainy hike and it was perfect. It feels a little bit shorter on me than it looks in the photo, but longer than a basic jacket. The zipper is kind of weird, you can unzip from the bottle (I've never seen that before) so it's a bit more difficult to zip it in the first place, but that's not a big deal. The fit is great--I'm a 3X and wasn't sure what to expect, if the jacket might be too tight in places, but it fit fine. A little snug in the hips maybe, but enough room in the bust, and the arms are just perfect--not too tight, nor do they hang, and I can still wear some layers under the jacket.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Size runs small Quality was o.k. Did not like built-in belt. Size ran smallish with very tight arms. This might work for some people, but not for me. Very pricey for the quality....returned for refund. Will try another jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect jacket I was looking for a jacket that was light weight but would give me extra warmth and be a light rain jacket. This looks and wears great. Really like the vent to let out hot air, the hood, 2 zippered pockets and the fabric is water repellent. It's real easy to fold up and carry in a backpack . The color (red) is really pretty and the belt makes it very flattering. It fits really well. going to be a perfect coat to take on my Alaskan cruise and fall wear.
