Rated 4 out of 5 by Runs small I normally wear a small in jackets and originally this one seemed fine, but I gained a little weight and it doesn't fit anymore. I'm 5' 4" 140 lbs. Really love this style though so I'm going to order up a size. Unfortunately I ordered this in 2015 so I can't return it anymore, but like it enough to order again. May 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product Just want I expected!!! Fits greats May 8, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Buy I purchased this item after spending many mornings and afternoons getting drenched while dropping/picking up my preschoolers from school. I like that it is longer and covers my bum and although I am on the shorter side (5'2) I think it would still cover a taller ladies backside as well. I purchased an XL because I have a larger chest size and wanted to ensure it would fully zip across my chest, even while wearing a sweater or layers. I like that the trench tie is actually part of the jacket - it doesn't bunch up when you tighten it. And it doesn't have the opportunity to fall off. I purchased the jacket in red hibiscus but it is closer to a dark coral. I chose this color so I would always notice it in case I left it lying somewhere and it makes me easier to be seen when I'm walking through a rainy parking lot, waiting for my kiddos, or walking down the street. I would recommend this coat. April 8, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect! I live in Florida. Our "winter" is rainy and gets down to the low 30s for a little while. This raincoat is indeed only a shell, however when I paired it with a Columbia fleece pullover it was warm enough to wear while riding my bike to school on our chilliest days. And I am a wuss about the cold! I appreciate the fact that it is so thin and lightweight because as the day warms up I can easily remove a layer and place it in my backpack without it taking up too much room. By itself this is a wonderful raincoat. It has a rear vent that helps when it is warm or humid as well as a very nice large hood that has enough stiffness to hold its shape and act as a small rain visor when needed. The fit is very chic thanks to the tie-belt. The pockets are large and have zippers. A great product! March 24, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good raincoat/small I ordered an XL after reading the reviews. It is a good size for a tall, skinny person. The sleeves are very long, but the torso is snug. I plan to return it. If layering for warmth, this will not work for me. The proportions seem off. I thought I had long arms. It is not water proof but water resistant. I have a jacket with Omni Tech which I love and will shop for that feature as it is waterproof. I really liked this silhouette. February 5, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by This product is of exceptional quality! Very satisfied with my purchase. Not what I thought it was on line, but will be very useful come warmer weather. January 27, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not what it appears I read the reviews that this jacket was thinner than it appears online, but I decided to go ahead and order anyway to try it out myself. The reviews were accurate- it is just a shell, no extra lining to help keep you warm at all. A trench coat tends to be on the thicker side, so the name of the jacket is not fitting in my opinion. I sent it back immediately. December 30, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Jacket The fabric on this jacket is wonderful. I also love that it provides a bit more protection than most zip up rain jackets. December 20, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Light Rain Jacket This rain jacket is pretty awesome. It kept me dry during a hike. Although it's thin, it kept me warm on a 50F day. I don't care for the pink strings on the hoodie though. I would definitely wear a good layer underneath for extra warmth. It looks way thicker in the picture than it actually is. November 20, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by too small Really nice product but sizing not accurate. Disappointed but will reorder. October 25, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Cute but not waterproof I agree with the other reviewers. This jacket is very cute and flattering, but not all that waterproof. I wore it for the first time in a medium rain and within 5 minutes my arms were damp. I'm really sad because it is such a cute jacket, but if you want it to actually keep you dry, I'd go with something else. I will be returning mine. October 17, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by mrs This was a very nice raincoat, BUT it runs very, very small. Couldn't wear it and had removed the tags so I couldn't return it. Gave it to a much smaller person and it barely fit. October 16, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Buyer Beware... When my trip to the UK was planned for September, 2015, I knew I'd need a good, reliable raincoat. My search for the coat, which took longer than expected, ended at our local Cabela's in the form of the Pardon My Trench coat. I am normally a size L, as I like a little wiggle room, but opted for the XL so that I could wear layers if need be, though I had to fold back the sleeves a little. I was happy with the coat's look - it could be dressed up or down - and believed the venting in back suggested it was breathable. I was WRONG. The first time I wore the coat I had a thin long-sleeved T-shirt under it. The weather looked threatening, though it never rained. However, it wasn't long before I began to feel a little chilled despite the somewhat mild air temperature. When I stopped to eat lunch and removed the coat I was shocked to discover my shirt was sopping wet! When I turned the coat inside out I found the lining of the coat felt as if I'd taken a hose to it. I sat in the restaurant awhile to warm up and dry out a bit and put the coat in my small backpack. I didn't wear it again for about a week, opting to wear my more casual Marmot Precip coat instead. When I did wear the Columbia again I was in Edinburgh. I decided to give it another chance. Though it sprinkled a little at first, the weather cleared off nicely. However, within an hour or so of walking up the steep streets and stairs, I again noticed a chill and discovered I was once more damp inside the coat. I am not an overly large person, though broad-shouldered, and I like my clothes roomy as opposed to skin tight, especially if I am going to wear layers. I am pretty fit and don't sweat more than the average person. I walked back to my lodging, stripped off the coat, changed my shirt, donned the Marmot, and never dared wear the Columbia coat again. I was tempted to just leave it behind at the lodging as it was basically useless and taking up precious room in my suitcase. So, please be warned that this coat is NOT breathable in any way. If you are looking for a dependable raincoat to keep you warm and dry this is not the coat for you. September 22, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Awesome coat! Very nice, very waterproof. Packs small, super lightweight. Took it on a trip to Alaska and it served me well, even in pouring rain. I love that it is long enough to sit on if need be. July 8, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Ties don't stay I like this jacket. I'm in college and want to have a nice looking jacket for all of those rainy days walking across campus. It is cute and the cut is flattering however the ties don't stay in place unless you double knot them. Not a very big deal but I regret not getting the jacket with elastic at the waist instead. Overall, very pleased. July 8, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Great looking rain jacket This jacket runs a bit smaller than regular sizes so order up a size. The cut is very nice and similar to another high end brand. Bundles up very small so its a great space saver in your luggage and its extremely light weight. I haven't worn it in the rain yet, so I can't attest to its actual water proofing ability, but all in all the jacket is very stylish and the color choices go with anything. June 14, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Surprised. First off, I am a true 8-10. I'm 5ft and a curvy 143lbs. Every review said this jacket ran small so I ordered up a size. I AM SWIMMING IN IT. Stick with what you would normally order. Otherwise, it's adorable and very sturdy considering how lightweight it is. I hope to exchange for a medium! June 2, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Stylish and Practical This is the rain coat I have sought for years! Perfect fit, quality construction. The stylish trench design makes even jeans look uptown and can, of course, be worn with my business casual outfits as well. The red hibiscus color simply glows and makes rainy days bright. I am going to get the fossil color next so I can wear it year round. This is a must-have jacket! May 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Columbia Pardon My Trench Coat I love this jacket. It keeps me protected from the wind. Have not yet tried it in the rain. The only issue I have had with it is the zipper. It is very difficult to zip up. Don't know if this is typical or a malfunction with my coat. Otherwise this jacket is great. Will recommend to everyone. April 9, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Similar coats do not fit the same!! I purchased my wife the Women's Take To The Street Trench Coat. I later purchased her the Women's pardon My Trench Rain Coat. If you look them up, they look almost identical. One heavier than the other. But they sure do not fit the same. The Take To The Streets Trench Coat fits her really good. The Pardon My Trench Rain Coat is a good bit smaller. Hard to believe but it is true. March 30, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Review of raincoat I loved the product, but it runs small. I ordered a size larger, XL, and it still did not fit correctly. I would not have been able to wear a heavy sweater underneath. When zipped up, I looked like a sausage. Really sad it did not work.. great weight and good quality. March 24, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good in light rain, not so much in heavy rain. I got the black jacket in a Medium, and I'm 20 years old 5'3 and 120lbs. Fits great! I love the length, just covers my bum and the pockets are nice because they zip shut. Sometimes it takes me a minute to zip the jacket because of the double zipper, but I love the fact that there is a double zipper. However I thought that it was going to be a little more water proof. It works great in light rain but last night I was out on my bike and it started raining pretty hard and especially my arms got really wet. Also I agree with others about the hood--I can't get it to stay up, even when I pull the strings as tight as I can. Overall I like the jacket, but I would not recommend if you're going to be in heavy rain. March 22, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by forevrluv my new trench from PA I just purchased .....and I absolutely love it .I wore it in our northern snow/sleet/rain and it was just as it stated waterproof!!!! If u want it for both winter & spring just add a fleece as others have also recommended. As for size I'm 5" 11& 215lbs an I bought an XL the plus size would have been to big so I would purchase ur size as is recommended on there size chart Hopefully this is helpful;) March 2, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by love it! I'm so excited to see these colorful rain jackets with xs size for small lady like me. it's so handy in Portland where rains a lot. I can see why some customers think it is too small, but if you are slim, this jacket make you stand out. On the first day I ware it to the supermarket, 3 ladies walked to me and asked me where I got it and how much I paid. It's an eye catcher. Thank you Columbia for making this type of jackets available for skinny ladies like me. This the most beautiful rain jacket I have seen. January 29, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great jacket I got the red jacket. Under certain lighting it looks orange, but overall it's the perfect rain jacket to brighten up your rainy day. January 28, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Stylish rain jacket This jacket is very stylish for a rain jacket. It is not very warm though. If you want to wear this in winter weather you need something like a fleece jacket underneath. The jacket runs a little small. If you are in between two sizes, take the larger one. January 27, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Fit The fit of this jacket is mostly for younger figures. My age group (over 65) needs more room in the arms and around the midsection. I found the large too small and the extra large was too fitted and the sleeves were too long. I loved the material and the color, but the fit was not comfortable for me. January 24, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Too Small I didn't heed the warning of the other reviewers and bought this in my usual size. Seems it was much too small. I bought in an XS (5'2", 115lbs) and found that the sleeves barely hit my wrists. For jackets, like most people, I want sleeves that hit on my hand to make sure there is no gap if I'm wearing gloves. It was also uncomfortable with a medium-bulk sweater underneath. I unfortunately had to return this. January 6, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Pardon my trench I really like the design and look of this jacket. I purchased one for myself and my mother. I ordered a large. My body measurements are just smaller than the ones listed and it barely fits me. It runs small in the hips especially. I do love how it looks though. My moms measurements are within the ones listed for XL and the jacket did not fit. Could not be zipped. January 5, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Designed for a petite person? I was attracted to the figure-flattering, feminine style of this belted rain jacket. I ordered this in a small and found the fit to be really nonstandard. I am average height: 5'6", and weigh 114lbs. *Most clothing tends to fit me either large in the chest or short in the sleeves because I have a straight body type.* This jacket, in a size small, was actually long enough in the sleeves, but tight in the shoulders and bust, and narrow in the hips. The waist belt landed on my rib-cage, not my waist! It did not give an hourglass silhouette as in the picture! I sent it back and ordered a medium. It is actually for my daughter who will be traveling to the UK soon. She is 5'4", 120lbs and bustier than me. I hope it fits! December 16, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by light jacket for PNW rain I think this jacket is up to par with some of the weather we have been having here. Plus I needed a longer light rain jacket to go with my long shirts/skirts/dresses for work. For the price, you get what you paid for. I like that this jacket is light and keeps me protected from light rain. I haven't tested it in heavy rain but i don't expect it to protect me like the north face. Same material as Northface on the outside, just a little concern on durability though. Other than that, I order this and received it within 2-3 business days for standard shipping. Just in time for the holidays! Thanks for making my first purchase fast and efficient! December 12, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Very thin, not a great hood This coat has a few things going for it. It's definitely a cute cut, I love the purple color, and the fit was great (I'm 5' 2" and 110 lbs, the XS fit perfectly). I read the reviews before buying, so I knew the jacket would be thin. I bought a cheap purple fleece to go with it, but I didn't consider the pockets - they provide zero protection from the cold or the wind. It is, however, properly waterproof, which is kind of the point of a rain jacket. My bigger issue is the hood - it's so light that I can't get it to stay on my head. No matter how much I pull those drawstrings, the slightest gust of wind knocks it back. Plus it's so cold I end up wearing a hat anyway. Thinking of returning it, but for the price it's probably a good thing to keep around for spring. November 30, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by I LOVE this jacket! I ordered this in black and loved it so much I ordered it in red also. It fits really well, is lightweight, and looks great on. The best part is that it keeps you dry, but breaths well so you don't feel like your sealed in :) November 21, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Raincoat travels well Good-looking, rolls up compact in a suitcase. Very warm and is a great windbreaker. Pockets zip, which I like for traveling. I am a full size 14 in blouses and an XL fit me just fine. The belted waist is nice, and the size of the belt is fine for me. Unfortunately for this review, it hasn't rained yet, but the jacket seems well-made so I believe it will hold up. October 30, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great lightweight rain jacket Bought this for a great price in preparation for a trip to the UK. It is lightweight and packs well. It was a great jacket to have in the windy rainy weather. I would have given it 5 stars if not for the zipper. It is difficult to get started and I have had that issue with 2 other jackets from Columbia. Would recommend highly otherwise. October 30, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect travel coat Wore this every day in Paris last month. Wonderfully light, and with layers underneath, it was warm enough. Great water repellancy. I did get a bit clammy with exercise because it does not breathe as much as the expensive fabrics, but still a pretty perfect coat. Looks great with jeans or a skirt. Sleeves are a bit long, but I folded the cuffs over and this was OK. July 30, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Satisfied with purchase I am normally a medium but was concerned because my arms are so long, but I still purchased the Medium size and it was perfect length. I like the way it fits and looks. It is a little thin so it requires another fleece if you are trying to stay warm as well. March 29, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by I was very afraid to order this product...but it is well worth the purchase I am a hippie girl with curves and a wide big booty and meduim slim waist. I was debating back and forth if I should or shouldn't order because I am shapey. I ordered the size 16/18 and it fits really really nice. Not too big or too small just right fit..true to size. Overall a real good nice price and fit Highly recommended. I was going to order the 16w-18w but that would have been too big...Hopefully this information is helpful....enjoy! March 26, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by A Great Product I've only worn this jacket a few times now, but it is absolutely perfect for me. Living in Portland OR area is a real test for it and so far, so good. My only issue would be the belt....why do they make them higher up than an average waist is? March 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Gift for Wife My wife saw it , I got it , she loves it. March 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic, functional, stylish jacket! I live in a place where it would be more appropriate to wear a swim suit than clothes so having a rain jacket is essential. There isn't a lot of warmth to the jacket but that is a nice feature for me so I can wear it on a 60 degree day or a 30 degree day and vary my layers accordingly. The zipper can be catchy which is why I gave it a "4" on the quality scale. Other than that this is a diverse, functional and stylish jacket worthy of it's price tag. March 5, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice color and comfortable The color and style very nice after I took off the belt and allowed for the fit by buying a size larger than I would have normally. So far has kept me dry and comfortable, but have not given the absolute test of driving rain. March 3, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Sleeves run a bit large and long I like this coat..stylish for a rain coat. But it is thinner than I expected, maybe would need a fleece inside during the rain. I have problem with the sleeves because it runs larger and longer than the usual size I have. BTW, there is a ventilation part on the back, makes me think that if I walk in windy rain, the water could go through inside the back part (but have not try it yet, though). But overall, I like it. March 2, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Bring on the rain! I usually wear a medium, but based on the reviews I ordered a large because in the spring and fall I'll wear a fleece underneath. I'm glad I did -- It's a perfect fit over the fleece, and it still looks like a good fit without the fleece. I also love the oversize hood, which should protect my glasses from the rain, and the long sleeves that actually come down past my wrists (I have long arms, and that's a problem sometimes). On top of everything else, the jacket is really cute -- I got the red hibiscus. I haven't actually had a chance to wear it yet because it won't stop snowing, but it seems like it will keep me dry. February 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great style, fit and comfy raincoat. I wore my new raincoat for the first time today in the pouring Oregon rain and it was comfy, cozy and warm. The fabric is very light so I wore a light fleece jacket under the coat and it kept me perfectly warm and dry. The fit is stylish and flattering for a raincoat but has enough room to layer it as needed for the cold. Because of its lightness it will pack and travel very well. I am a medium and the fit is perfect. I would highly recommend this light raincoat for its high quality and good looks. January 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by This raincoat is up to the task! I ordered this trench to take on a trip to Iceland, and I was grateful to have it every single day! I love that it was lightweight enough to stash in my daypack but substantial enough to get the job done. Although it's not rated to be completely water proof, this jacket kept me completely dry even in a steady rain. The quality is even higher than I expected. I ordered a medium and feel it fits true to size. The belt keeps it from being boxy or bulky looking, but there is still ample room to layer up underneath. In fact, I was even able to layer it over my Mighty Light jacket on a couple of occasions. The quill color is a lovely purple... pretty but still muted enough to be somewhat of a neutral. This jacket exceeded my expectations, and it will remain a wet weather staple now that I'm back home. November 25, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Lightweight Rain Jacket This is a great jacket to wear in the rain to keep you dry. Great fit and length. November 19, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great travel coat. This coat is so good for traveling, because it's lightweight and packs so well. I've worn it in heavy rain and wind at the beach and the waterproofing worked really well. It breathes well. My only complaint it the belt is so short and the waistline is high. I'm 5' 1" and it's on the border. November 12, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by this was exactly what my wife needed. This rain coat was perfect and it fit perfectly. Its lightweight, but functional for using in mild weather with rain in the forecast. And it looks great too. November 12, 2013
