Women’s Road To Rock™ Pant 4.3 5 60 60
My "Go To" Pants! These pants are so functional, I've owned 4 pair for over a year! Two in regular length for my very active, work-shoe-wearing job, & 2 in short length for home. They are holding up beautifully! The loose leg is great for movement & yet the seat/hips fit perfectly! I've found that by letting the pants finish drying hung up, they look almost new still. I'll be ordering more shortly, because I happily need a smaller size! Columbia, please KEEP THESE PANTS COMING, December 25, 2014
Great Pants! I love Columbia, so when I had to purchase new pants for work, they where the first place I looked. The pants just arrived and I tried them on. I had to get a size smaller and they fit perfectly! November 28, 2014
Great All-Around Pant Columbia did a great job designing this pant - especially for curvy women. With a smaller waist to hip ratio, I often run into the problem of pants designed with a clown waist, but this pair only has some extra room, which could accommodate a variety of waist sizes. The boot cut of this pant looks good with clunkier shoes like clogs, boots, and dayhiking shoes. The fabric is a nice, medium-weight weave that can take a decent amount of abuse. Great for work and play. Columbia deserves kudos, too, for developing a range of clothing that fits a number of sizes well. It's refreshing to find good, well-made outdoor clothing for larger sizes. Thank you! Would just like to see, maybe, a large wale, soft corduroy pant in the same fit category. September 21, 2014
good for everyday The fit is somewhat large, especially in an extra small. I wish the leg cut was straight not full. Aside from that there is plenty of room to move. The would accommodate long underwear without restriction which is nice. Good all around casual pant. If they made it a more slender cut I would buy a dozen. September 17, 2014
The legs are too baggy. The waist fits true to size but the legs are too baggy. Makes you look like a sack of potatoes. March 3, 2014
Great casual pant This a great pant for the office (easy to dress up and down) but also very comfortable if you need to move around a lot. It's a fuller boot cut if that makes sense, so it has some tailoring but still roomy that the back doesn't come down when you're working. All the Columbia quality you expect! February 25, 2014
Love the fit; the color: not so much The waistband rides exactly where I want it to be on these pants. The color, on the other hand, not so much. I ordered Kettle. It looked to be a darkish grey on the website. When it arrived, it sure looks khaki to me!! I was not happy...I have khaki pants, but they fit so good I kept them anyway. Fortunately, I found black ones on sale, so bought them as well. Columbia has big issues on color. More on that when I review the fleece AND the top I ordered. February 20, 2014
Woman's road to rock pant The leg width is way too big. It's shapeless. Poor design. Need to mail back and return. Just worthless with all efforts. February 10, 2014
Don't buy the Black Color I love most of my Columbia Sportswear, but this pant was a disappointment due to the color. It's a LINT ATTRACTOR. I washed the pants to soften them up with other dark colors. White specks appeared everywhere afterwards. I have no idea where they came from. A second washing couldn't get rid of them. Fortunately, I only wanted these to wear at home. The fabric is also stiff. February 8, 2014
good product I was so pleased with my purchase that I ordered another pair in a different color. It is not always easy to find pants in my size that fit, so I was glad to find the Columbia pants. Thank you for your product. February 1, 2014
Sturdy outdoor work pants or casual wear I wear these pants when working outdoors and also to the shooting range. They are very functional for both. The look and feel of these pants are also very nice. They are great when you don't want thick heavy Carhartts on. December 9, 2013
Love these pants! Having a curvy figure, it is very difficult to find pants that don't gap in the waist. These pants are fantastic! I wear them to work and at home. They are very comfortable and relaxed through the hip and leg. I will definitely buy more in the future! November 7, 2013
Runs very large I usually wear a 2 in Columbia's pants and shorts, but these seem to run at least a size big and they aren't offered in a 0. If you don't know yourself to have looong legs, get it in the short inseam. I'm pretty bummed about needing to return these, they seem to be of solid construction and a nice rugged material. I need a good pair of pants for out in the woods and these are just too big on me, I'd end up getting stuck out there tangled in briers! November 1, 2013
too long I liked these pants, but had to return them. Even though I ordered petite, they were still too long. October 22, 2013
Great Pants! These pants are a little large on me; however, the shape is perfect and the quality is good. I loved that I could order them in short length. I almost never can fore go hemming pants I buy, but I did not have to hem these! That said, I wore a 14, have been losing weight, and I'm finding other brands of size 12 pants a little large too... So, they seem true to size. October 21, 2013
Fun, Casual I love these pant's. For me it's nice to have a casual pair of pant's instead of jeans. They look gook if you want to dress them up a little or just a sweatshirt. I also like the heavier fabric. Cute style. I sort of wish they had a little higher rise in this same exact style. But , I still love them!! October 5, 2013
the fit was perfect and I usually have a hard time finding pants that fit since I'm tall and slender They fit perfectly. I do wish they had them in different colors other than grays and black. The only thing I would like better is if the leg wasn't quite so big as my legs are skinny. They'll be great for casual wear and hiking. Very nice looking panst September 3, 2013
Road to Roc Yes, I simply love the pants, they look great, fit great, feel great! My only deal with them is THE POCKETS! Ya, I know, I'm 'suppost' to have a purse for my junk but that simply doesn't work for me. It's got to be on my person because if it's not there's no telling where I will be while my stuff is somewhere else entirely. The pockets are short and when I sit contrary to decent posture, stuff falls out (which is worse than a purse) so you win a few you lose a few. I really don't want to lose any so I ask, "Please Please Please!!!! Enhance the Pockets???" Overall and if you have a purse, these are great pants, they look good, fit good, they are sturdy and durable, almost rugged, still light enough for summer. I needed black and they are black. happy happy happy! I'll make it a point to sit correctly in these! August 11, 2013
Confortable , good looking This pants are so confortable. My friends love the looks. July 10, 2013
Good pant for cooler seasons These pants are true to size, though the kettle color is more washed out than in the picture. The fabric is much thicker and stiffer than the Willowdale pant, but the pockets/crotch fit well. The Regular inseam is perfect for average height (5'6") and looks good over shoes without dragging on the ground. This may not be the pant for the trail, except for cooler months (especially in southern California), but I can see getting a lot of everyday use out of them. June 24, 2013
Please don't discontinue these! I'm a wildlife photographer so need something in neutral colors that is hard-wearing but stylish too. I bought one of each color in my size (2/short) and went to restock and I notice you aren't carrying them anymore. PLEASE continue with these pants as they are about the only good pant like this on the market! I searched all over for Chinos or Cargo pants and can't find anything I like apart from this pant. I'm 5'3" and the Short is still a little too long. The legs are really wide too so I feel a bit frumpy wearing them. Importantly, the two buttons and zip are really LOW quality. I wore one pair a few times and BOTH buttons came off due to very poor cotton. It just disintegrated! This short of pant should have a STRONG stud button like jeans and a much stronger zip. June 23, 2013
Road to Rock shows off that boulder. The pants are super comfortable. The waist is a bit small and the legs are a bit long but they work perfectly. I was expecting a looser fit in the booty (they're for use in a conservative Middle Eastern country) which makes them less than ideal for my trip but great for outdoor stuff around home. June 3, 2013
Casual Work Pants I just started a job that doesn't allow me to wear jeans so i went searching for a nice casual pant. I went looking at a few local retailers and tried on every brand and style they had and nothing fit well. Then i remembered i had a couple pairs of Columbia capris that i just love and thought i would google search to see if Columbia had any long pant styles. I found these and took a chance on the "True To Size" Fit (nothing these days seems to really fit true sizes). The day they arrived i tried them on (both pair because i have had experiences in the past with other brands purchased that not every pair is equally cut) and to my amazement they fit perfectly!! I wear them every day now and love how comfortable they are. I even ordered 2 more pair the next day and am anxiously awaiting their arrival. Please continue to make Womens Road to Rock pant Columbia, i appreciate the "True To Size" fit!! The roomy hips and thighs are very comfortable. May 5, 2013
Excellent These pants are awesome. Used them first for an all day strenuous hike in Yosemite and they are exactly what I wanted for the hike. Comfortable and do not hinder any leg movement. Highly recommend. May 1, 2013
pants with great functionality I luv these pants...great for everyday, or look nicer than jeans for going out...just wish I could find more in my size!! May 1, 2013
better than expected Some reviews said these pants ran slightly small, but I found them to be just a tad big. They did shrink a little after washing/drying. I intend on ordering more, but I plan on losing a little more weight, so I want to wait because I may need to order a smaller size. I also appreciate the short length - it's perfect for me @ 5'4". April 22, 2013
Women's Road to Rock Pant I needed to purchase pants for an archeology dig so they had to meet certain qualifications: lightweight, leg room, sun screen protected, and pockets. This pant met all of my requirements and best of all, it was a perfect fit. I ordered 3 pairs and going to order another 2 pair. April 14, 2013
Looks good, feels even better LOVE, Love, love these pants. My new favorite go to pants for anything and everything. I hope Columbia does not discontinue this item. Would buy it every color if the right size were available. April 5, 2013
Comfortable and durable I bought these pants in anticipation of a 5 day island backpacking trip. I didn't want to weigh myself down by packing too many clothes, so I just wanted a couple of high-quality pants that could stand up to several days of wear. These pants did just that. Upon first receiving these pants and feeling the material, I thought there could be no way that these would be comfortable, considering the heavy fabric. After trying them on, I was happy to say that my initial impression was dead wrong. Hiking in them, even after several days, was still very comfortable. While the material does feel rather heavy to the touch, they don't feel heavy to wear or hot either, just heavy enough for me to feel secure that they would stand up to whatever I would subject them to. They were perfect for spring hiking in the California Channel Islands. My only complaints are, as mentioned by another reviewer, the shallow front pockets as well as Columbia's sizing. The waist sizing, I would say, is true to size, but I am 5'1" and ordered the "short" inseam and still found them slightly too long. It's not a huge problem, I just roll up the cuffs a bit, but just slightly irksome. All in all a great pair of pants and I look forward to many more adventures in them. March 25, 2013
Great Pants for Casual Work Environments Two things attracted me to these pants. One, I needed comfortable pants to wear with flats at work. Two, I wanted something a little more durable than khakis since I work in a laboratory. These pants fit the bill. I normally wear a size 8 pant but ordered a size 10 just because I wasn't sure how the fit would be. Other reviewers are correct... the leg is wide but after a cycle through the dryer they shrunk up enough to fit better all over. I am probably in between sizes with this style. One thing worth pointing out is that these pants are more like carpenter style pants with the fit. There is no definition around my butt at all but that is fine considering I'm just wearing them at work. March 22, 2013
Some things I'd like to see.... The pants legs are a little wide and the pockets are not very deep; not deep enough for a cell phone, nor is there an additional pocket. There is a 2 1/2 inch difference between short and medium. For me, short is too short and medium is too long, so I have to tailor. I like the stretch in the material, and the heavy durability of the material. There is another Columbia pant I really liked that had a small pocket with a botton flap below the right front pocket that is perfect for a cell phone. The pants legs were narrower. It seems that it is no longer made. The only thing I did not like about that pant is that it was not stretch material. March 10, 2013
Baggy The pants are just as comfortable as noted by other reviewers. I usually wear an 8 but fit in the 10 better. Even though I purchased the short length, I felt that they were closer to average length. The bottom is super baggy, almost giving a bell-bottom effect, which makes me look larger than I am. Glad I got them on sale, otherwise I would be returned. March 10, 2013
Great pants These pants fit me perfectly. They are not too tight in the waist and fit comfortably through the legs. Love them! I will get another color. March 8, 2013
Nice pants! I purchased these because I wanted a versitile pant that I could wear to work or on the weekends. These pants allow just that! Very well made, beathable fabric! True to size, so purchase your normal size. March 7, 2013
Love Them Well made product. Would recommend and buy again March 6, 2013
Great fit, great quality I bought two pair of these pants based on others reviews. They fit wonderfully and the quality is what you expect from Columbia - fantastic! I loved that I could order in a short as I ALWAYS have to get pants hemmed after I receive them but not these. Perfect fit! March 6, 2013
good but could be better I have 5 pairs of these pants. They are versatile and comfortable. They are all the same size, but some of them fit better than others, so I can't really explain that. I also have one pair that for some reason is showing more wear than it should at the bottom of the zipper. Also, one of the back pockets has a tiny hole where it is sewn in and there is a small hole that just opened up one day at the outside seam of one of the pant legs. I had only had this pair for about a month and had only worn it 1-2 times a week and washed once per week. I am not seeing this kind of wear on my other pairs. March 5, 2013
Good fit but fabric not soft There are very few occasions where I can order pants and get a good fit. I am 5' 1 and need the shorter length. These pants fit perfectly. The only issue I have is the fabric isn't as soft as I would like and am hoping with continued washings they will become softer. February 25, 2013
Stretchy Pants I like these pants specifically because they are stretchy. I have only tried them on and worn them around the house but I like the ease of movement with the stretch. I had to switch from an 8 which I usually wear to a 6. I am 5'3", 120 lbs. and the short are a little bit long, the waist fits good and is not too tight, the legs are wider than most pants at the bottom. The one draw back is the shallow front pockets. I don't care for that. They are comfortable especially if you are an active person. They are good quality. February 19, 2013
Clean and comfy Five minutes wearing these pants they were my new favorite. I can bend, squat, kneel without any pinching, bunching or sagging. I can't stand pants that are tight in the thigh/butt area, these are loose enough to be comfortable and still look like women's pants. The material is rugged feeling, but not stiff. The pockets are deep enough so I won't be losing my Chapstick and change. These pants are perfect, I will be getting more colors soon. February 18, 2013
a little wide, but will work just fine I expected that there was a reason that these were so inexpensive, and I imagine it was due to the fuller legs. But they will be just fine for my outdoor activities. I will end up wearing them frequently, I imagine. Hope the waist doesn't shrink!! February 15, 2013
Comfortoable pants These pants are great. The size was exactly as I am usually wearing it. The color matches the description too. The cut is very casual. These are great pants for every day usage. They instantly fit well and are really comfy. February 12, 2013
Perfect fit & styling These pants are just what I was looking for. Great material. February 11, 2013
Noisy pants I love the style and fit of these pants - a nice casual alternative to jeans. However, because of the stretch material used in the fabric, they make a susching sound when I walk - quite distracting. Also, they wrinkle badly in the dryer. I have a pair of all cotton Dockers of similar style I purchased years ago that remain my favorite after several years - they have become soft over the years but are still in good shape. I also have a few pairs of this or similar style that have the bit of stretch but will never be worn again because of the uncomfortable fabric. Where can I find all cotton pants? February 11, 2013
Nice Pants, But a Bit Large and Saggy At 5'1" and 105", I wear either size 0 or 2, depends on the brand. Columbia's Crossroads Pants size 2 fit me perfectly, but size 2 Road to Rock Pants are loose from the thighs down. The pants look saggy after only a couple of hours, especially around the knees, but I'm keeping them for colder months when a base-layer underneath would perhaps improve the fit. February 4, 2013
Fabulous! These are perfect pants. There is just enough stretch to make these comfortable without losing stretch. I had to stay overnight with my husband at the hospital and wore these pants for about 40 hours without taking them off. They still kept there shape and looked as good as when I put them on. January 22, 2013
Excellent fit The Road to Rock Pant has every characteristic I was looking for in a pant; cotton fabric, durable, great color (kettle) and an amazing fit. I am 5'1", 120 lbs, muscular and size 6 short is perfect. I will buy another Road to Rock pant in a different color very soon. January 12, 2013
Good product I got these in a size 2 regular (what I normally wear) and they fit very well. I'm happy with the high rise fit. January 12, 2013
Positives and negatives for me Black pants new looked a little washed out in color, relaxed fit gave this 60 + lady a baggy fit in the fanny area. Very comfortable material and the fit was true to its size for me. January 11, 2013
great on the move I work in a pediatric office and got these pants to see if I could wear them to work. They are comfortable but seem well built. They are really easy to move around in and bend up and down in several times a day and they look great too. I like them so much I ordered a second pair in a different color. January 10, 2013
