Women’s Saturday Trail™ II Stretch Convertible Pant is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 64.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great style but with a design flaw Customer care said the circumference of the leg at the shorts zipper is 18" for 6 long and 18-1/2" for 8L. True, but both regular & long versions of this pant have the same 10" shorts inseam. In other words they are not proportionately longer in the shorts inseam as they should be for people with longer bones. This is why the zipper is reported as TIGHT even for a woman with a tall lean build. My thigh measures 17" around at the zipper. Its ok standing but snug when I sit down and the legs pull up. I am 5'8" & take a 33/34" inseam (pant) & the 6 long in the Sat trail pant fits perfectly! This convertible pant would fit more women if the shorts inseam was 1.5 to 2 inches longer in the tall/LONG sizes. Shorts and convertibles need to be proportionately longer in the thigh and lower leg! Otherwise this is a great style in a great fabric. Columbia, I hope this review helps you to design a better product for us forgotten talls.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from my first convertible pant I bought these in confidence because my "Saturday Trail shorts" fit perfectly. The pants fit equally perfect. I have fit but slim legs, and the zipper bands remain comfortable for me, whether sitting or hiking. I took my shoes off to remove the pant bottom, or I would of had to super stretch to get the lower pant over my shoes. But not a problem. I am super happy with my purchase. The "grill" color will match any tops.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice light fabric Great pant with the minor exception that the zipper around the upper leg to convert to shorts is a little snugg when flexing my leg to sit, step, etc. I have slim legs with minimal muscle mass so I can see these being uncomfortable on a person with average to larger upper legs. I do love the length as I have a 33" inseam.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Functional and comfortable I wore these pants on a stream research trip and was horrified when I knelt too far down at the stream and ended up kneeling in the water. However when I stood up all the water ran off my pants and I was still dry! These pants are also extremely comfortable and light. On cold days I layer them with warm tights and they still fit perfectly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy the zip off version I was so excited to get my pants in the mail only to discover they made the zipper to tight around the quads to even bend down and do work. I'm returning them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Yet more Velcro :-( As a 5'10" woman I am lacking in options when it comes to pants that are long enough. These fit well and I am certain the material will perform. The zips certainly seem very functional. So I've kept them. However yet again a Columbia product is cheapened by the use of Velcro - this time on the rear pockets. Those pockets would have been fine just as flaps, or you could have used snaps or magnets. But the small Velcro strips instead sound cheap and nasty and are actually so small they don't always meet correctly which leaves the pocket flap ruffled. Velcro never survives multiple washings either. As a final comment it would be nice if manufacturers remembered that women (not just men) also like functional pockets. Please design in some pockets that actually hold more than a credit card or a key. Good design would let this be done without ruining the overall line of the garment.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from zipper connection Pants fit well while standing. However, the zipper connection between short and lower leg is uncomfortable while sitting.....binds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pants! Love these pants. Take them when I travel as well a hike. Easy to wash and quick drying. Comfortable, good fit, and durable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What is up with that thigh size?? I am 6' tall and 130lbs. I have scrawny little stick legs. Like many other reviewers have said, the thigh zippers on these pants are miniscule! When I sat down they cut uncomfortably in to my leg and were too tight even when standing. The waist fit fine. Side note Columbia, 34" inseam is not tall enough for tall ladies. Can we get an extra inch??

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fabric didn't last a week I got these for a trip to Europe that was to be mostly urban walking plus visits to galleries/museums etc. The so-called "durable" fabric started to pill at the crotch with less than a week's worth of walking. We averaged about 15-20km of walking a day. I was expecting to have nice-looking pants for at least a full season. I am very disappointed given the price point and I'm regretting the purchase. On the plus side, they were comfortable and fairly stain resistant, odor resistant, and dried quickly after handwashing in a sink. They seemed to hold their shape really well. Sadly, the pilling in the crotch means the fabric will become threadbare far too quickly and I would not be okay relying on this product for a more aggressive outdoor aventure like backpacking.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Skip this pant.. I bought this pants because my other convertibles where getting really old. These pants stretch so much that you feel uncomfortable after a few hours...don't buy them if your destination is really warm because the fabric sticks to your legs, don't wear them on the plane if you have a long flight the zipper on the convertible becomes very uncomfortable and tight.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice, light pants These pants are nice and light, but the zipper to convert from pants to shorts is a little tight around larger thighs. Can't wait to take these on an adventure to see how they do!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great look and fit. These pants look and fit great especially when compared to my old baggy hiking pants. So very comfortable. I have not worn them much yet so I don't know about durability. Fabric is very light weight but that is fine for me - I won't be wearing them in cold weather. My sister recommended them and absolutely loves hers.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ripped the First Wear These pants ripped (as well as another style) on the first wear! Both pairs of pants ripped right above the stitching at the back side. What a shame. Horrible quality.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Fabric Pilling I bought at least three pairs of pants with this same kind of fabric and was very happy with it in the beginning. It was very comfortable and and fits well. After using it a few times for travelling and hiking, I started to notice that the fabric starts to pill and now it's not looking good. I am so disappointed with this purchase!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too short and top tight After reading the reviews, I decided to buy a size bigger than usual. I usually wear 12L-14L and ordered size 16L. The quality of the pants is below average and they appeared to be the length of average pants. Like many other reviewers commented, the zipper was way too tight around the thigh region. The material was very breathable and comfortable, but if needing to bend low, crawl, climb or walk through the bush, I'd very afraid of ripping them. Overall this seems like a good pair of pants for an average hiker with a very slim body build.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, functional pant! I recently went on an overseas trip to Europe. My luggage did not arrive until 7 days into the trip-at our last port of call. Luckily, I wore these pants on the plane. These pants were great! I unzipped them and converted them to shorts immediately. They were extremely comfortable in the climate and I was able to wash them out and let them dry at night. I cannot say enough good things about these pants, the material, the fit, they are a wonderful value for the $. Thank you Columbia!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Woman's Saturday-trail-ii-stretch-convertible-pant I bought a pair of these in the US and the waist band stretched.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from legs are snug I purchased an 8 tall and then returned due to being too snug. Purchased a size 10 tall which fit great except for the zipper off section of the pants. Way too tight and I do not have large legs. Disappointed as finding tall in a hiking pants is very difficult.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great hiking pants Love the fit and feel of these pants. They run a bit small and long so just adjust what you normally order. Well worth the purchase. I bought two pairs.
Date published: 2016-08-22
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Hiking Pants I love these pants. They are very comfortable and functional hiking pants. I am 5'2" 120lbs and the size 8 short fits perfect. I am usually a size 6. Go up one size for comfort.
Date published: 2016-08-18
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Zipper is Constricting The pants are comfortable and high-quality, but the zipper was quite tight around my thighs when I bent my legs. Granted, I have athletic legs, but ultimately the zipper did not give me enough range of motion and I did not keep the pants.
Date published: 2016-08-10
Rated 2 out of 5 by from The elastic zippers are FAR too tight on these curvy thighs! The elastics in the thighs are also FAR too tight. Even when you hold them up, you can see them pinch in at the thighs causing a very unpleasant squish on the thighs. Ahem... we are trying to draw attention AWAY from our thighs clothing designers... The elastics should be as wide as the thigh. I was so excited to see TALL hiking pants, I bought a pair one size too big based on all the other reviews. They are, heart-breakingly, still too short. 32 inches is NOT a tall pant. I can usually get away with one size larger and they hang lower... but not these ones. Most stores carry 33, 34, and even 36 as a tall option. These pants are just no good for us tall curvy gals! However, the hips and bum did fit well, so I'll keep the capris I bought in the similar design. I have yet to find a Tall Hiking pant that is long enough to accommodate my height AND curves Columbia. With your $7/shipment AND the cost to return items is not feasible... I am getting very discouraged!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these pants!! I bought a pair of these while I was in Yosemite National Park two years ago. It was July and very hot. These are great pants for hiking in. We usually started out early in the morning on our hikes when it was relatively chilly. Then as the day wore on and the temperature increased, all I had to do was unzip the bottoms and I was wearing shorts!! The material is not too heavy, even if you want to keep your legs covered, like if you are walking in weeds or tall grasses. I purchased a second pair as I am headed out to the Pacific Northwest where it is going to be considerably cooler & felt I needed two pairs to sustain me for the week.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I needed Fits well, looks good, very functional. Just what I needed for days in the field.
Date published: 2016-07-13
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Zippers too tight After reading all the reviews I still decided to give these pants a try but like others have said the zippers are way too tight. I even ordered a size up and they were still too tight. I will be returning them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE! I am wearing these for the first time today and I absolutely love them! The fabric is so lightweight and comfy: they might be my go-to pants in the dog days of summer. I bought these for a hiking trip and some other travel but honestly I kind of want to wear them all the time now. I'm debating whether they are dressy enough for business-casual work wear. The waist isn't low cut, but it's not high-waist either: it's pretty much perfect. I hope they will not stretch too much on our hike as I'm hoping to wear them for multiple days. I actually like the roll tab cuffs with the snaps. They roll up very nicely but not too high. The leg cut fits easily over my hiking boots when they are unrolled to full length. I'm 5'3", 120lb and the 4 regulars fit loosely (the 2s were skin tight). If I weren't wearing them out hiking I might get the short length - that would work better with flats. The pockets are another huge benefit - I really love that there's a zipper pocket, in addition to the two front slit pockets and back pockets. Overall I'm extremely pleased with these pants. Might have to order another pair!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best ravel pants I love these pants -- have them in every color offered, because they wear and work so well. I've long been a fan of zip-off pants for traveling, as they allow you to bring pants and shorts in one. These Saturday Trail ones are the best I've found.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from AWESOME PANTS I read the numerous reviews about these pants before I bought them. Most of them said the zipper rubs again the thighs during walking and climbing. I went ahead and bought them because I needed some convertible pants for a hiking excursion in Utah Canyons. I bought the black because I felt they would go with everything. I love them, they are light weight, very comfortable and although I did feel the zipper rubbing again my thighs it was not uncomfortable. This is why I gave them only 4 stars. I have worn them on hikes where it rained and snowed and they are water repellant. I would highly recommend them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best professional work outdoor pants I work outdoors but I am often asked to escort important dignitaries through the woods. These pants are the best of both worlds. Great fit and so light and cool that I can be comfortable while looking great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great! Those leg seams though... First off, I think these pants are awesome. I've taken them on a few hikes so far and they've kept me warm, but not hot, and most importantly, dry. Spring hiking here includes navigating trails with streams running across them occasionally. These pants have not let me down once in that regard. The sizing in the waist seems a little small to me but my normal size still fits. I have a 35"-36" inseam and the long inseam fits me perfectly. Now to the seam connecting the bottom of the leg: they are just too tight. They are uncomfortable (in that seam) when I sit down. And I don't feel as if I have large thighs for someone my size. This is not a deal breaker for me though.
Date published: 2016-05-17
Rated 3 out of 5 by from too long I love the bottom feature of a pull string but it keeps me from altering the pants since I don't want to loose that feature but they are about 2 or 3 inches too long for my 5'3" frame so there is a lot of sagging at the bottom of the pant making it look weird. I also wish they were a higher rise for my more mature body. i love the light weightless of the material but there is also a sound when I walk with this material.
Date published: 2016-05-01
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Convertible Trail Pant I love everything about this pant except the zippers. I have very muscular thighs from years of bicycling and the zippers do not have any stretch to them so they bind on my thighs when I lift my leg to take a step up. This is especially frustrating when taking quick movements up rocky slopes where it impaired my range of motion. I tripped a couple times when I let my guard down. I love the nonconvertible pants and shorts as they have a lot of stretch. I think this product would be awesome for someone with slender legs. I am 5'5" and 130 pounds.
Date published: 2016-04-04
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Tight in leg I bought these pants and they fit perfectly everywhere except where the convertible zipper was. They were so tight around the zipper I couldn't sit down. I do not have large legs. If I was to go up a size, they would be too large everywhere else. I was sad they did not fit as I really liked them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfy pant but it stretches out I love these pants and they are very comfortable. However, after a couple hours of wearing the fabric stretches A LOT. When trying on, size down or buy them a little snug. They will stretch out. I'm 5'8" and 137 lbs. I usually wear a size 8 but I think I might have to buy a size 6 for the next pair.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for the trail I bought these for a 5 day Inca trail hike to Machu Picchu. The days started very cool and warmed up enough to appreciate shorts on the accent. They are comfy and stretch for maximum comfort. They are breathable, wick and dry rapidly. A great multi purpose pant that isn't "nerdy" like most zip offs. I am 5'7", 125 lbs and I ordered a small tall.
Date published: 2016-02-24
Rated 5 out of 5 by from They look nice... Fit is good, function is great, but mostly like that they look nice too.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Zipper in legs too tight When I first tried these pants on I felt they fit well. True to size. I set off on my adventure. It wasn't until I was actually using them that I realized the problem. The fabric the pants are made of stretches but the zippers don't. In fact, the zippers seem to be a bit smaller than the leg opening making it very tight when climbing uphill or over rocks. I am a size tall (that may be part of the issue) but my thighs are not large so this was somewhat of a surprise. I will not wear them again as they are too uncomfortable.
Date published: 2016-01-03
Rated 5 out of 5 by from petite size fit well I had read complaints about the zipper being tight but I did not find this to be a problem I'm 5'2 and wear a size 12 petite. these fit perfectly. they washed well and very wrinkle resistant. I would buy them again

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Pants Very attractive and high quality. I didn't have a problem with the upper leg area being too tight where the shorts end and the legs are zipped on, like other reviewers mentioned. I have medium legs as far as bulk. These pants do fit a little small though so I listened to other reviewers and sized up. I like this type of pant to fit a little loose anyway. They do hug and accentuate your booty, but at the same time they make it look really attractive too. Bonus! I really doubted I'd ever wear these as shorts but I think I will now based on how attractive they are as shorts, since the leg opening is a little close fitting, not gaping and the length is really nice too. I'm 5'6" and 128 lbs. I ordered the Fossil color and the color is a bit lighter and a little less rich than pictured. It's close enough though and they have many redeeming qualities so I'm keeping them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great hiking pants I bought 2 pairs of straight leg fit (size 4 - 125 lbs 5'7") and they were great for hiking. Fit was perfect and colors nice. The only remark I and others have noted is that the thigh zipper is a little snug when you sit down but not uncomfortable, just noticeable. I would still buy another pair but they could make the thigh a little looser fit.
Date published: 2015-08-23
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome I bought these in the fossil color , the light tan and got huckleberry stains on them today and didn't realize till later, so as I rinsed the area in cold water, "voila" the stains disappeared instantly!Plus they were super comfy as I was doing a lot of crouching and bending picking those berries as we hiked up the mountain side! I'm 95 - 98lbs and barely 5ft tall and I bought size 2 , they fit great, of course way too long, like every pants I buy but the ankle cinches solve that problem !
Date published: 2015-08-16
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice fit, very comfortable. These shorts run true to size with other Columbia products, but smaller than other brands so that's why I gave it "runs a little small" As other reviewers have noted, the legs are quite narrow, but this is exactly what I wanted as most shorts I find are way too baggy and unflattering through the legs. They are comfortable and flattering.
Date published: 2015-08-01
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Leg zippers are way too tight I have been looking for a functional, multi-tasking pair of pants for my first thru-hike of the rugged Appalachian Trail next year, and I thought I found The One. I'm a 5'4", 185lb female CrossFitter and have the thighs that go along with it. I was surprised to find that I fit in a size 12 given that my hips and thighs measure more than my waist; the material is stretchy enough to fit comfortably whether standing, lunging or squatting, but for an Active pants style (articulated knees and all), the leg zippers seem to be the dealbreaker to an otherwise awesome pair. At the knees and bottom half of the thighs, these pants feel more like bootcut rather straight cut. I think I'd have better luck with the Modern Classic style, but I think it'll be too much at the waist. Or maybe just size up to a 14 instead. Either way, I will definitely be returning these. Please fix this, Columbia!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too tight around convertible zipper area! I have a couple of saturday trail pants that fit GREAT, so I gave these a try. I was disappointed in that the zipper around the leg/knee/convertable area was just too tight. When I sat down the zipper around the leg was uncomfortable and tight, just not comfortable or flattering. I am 5'7", 135lbs so I am considered slender by my friends, but I think you have to have skinny legs for these to fit right.
Date published: 2015-07-29
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Tight knees. I was really really sad about purchasing these pants. I have had the worst time finding a pair of hiking/hunting pants (in a ladies cut) that are not loud and "swishy" and also have belt loops, as I carry a side arm while out in the wilderness. I thought I hit the jackpot until I went for a short hike in them - the zipper'd knee area was noticeably tighter in the store while trying them on, but I did not expect it to impact my movement too much because I have slender legs. To my dismay I will not be packing out an elk in these pants, no matter how quiet they are. From the zipper up 4 to 6 inches gets so tight when stress is put on the fabric. These are not adequate for hiking treks or hunting and I am legitimately disappointed. Especially cause they fit really nicely overall in the butt and length which is really rare for this kind of pant.
