Women's Splash A Little™ Rain Jacket - Plus Size is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 61.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent raincoat I purchased this through Amazon thus it was easier since I live in Europe. Nevertheless, the coat is absolutely wonderful, its light, it's very generous sizewise. Also the pattern is quite nice, I bought the almost white one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great raincoat I wanted a lightweight raincoat I could fold small for travel. It fits in a 12 x 9 x 2 1/2 space WITH my iPad in my purse. Ordered size thinking I could wear insulated coat underneath, which I could. This made it more versatile for travel to Alaska, Iceland and Greenland. My purse also fit inside, keeping it dry, too. Love it, and would buy again, recommend. Love the blue nocturnal color, zipper and snaps, and especially the length! YES, waterproof.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Jacket I used this jacket while in Iceland and it was perfect. I stood behind and beside waterfalls and didn't get wet at all. The only design change I think that is needed is that the hood of the jacket needs to be a little deeper but aside from that minor issue, this is a great jacket. I love that I was able to find such high quality for a plus size women! (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket! This jacket fits great and covers everything, it's just the right length! I usually wear a XL but got a 1x because I wanted to be able to wear sweatshirts or sweaters underneath, definitely the right choice in size, it has a little room and is comfortable with anything!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Like the Jacket I love all Columbia products and really liked the Rain Jacket but the arms were to tight. So I sent the jacket back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty "Chubby Woman's" rain jacket This Columbia Woman's "Splash a Little" rain jacket is PERFECT !!! There are not a lot of options for Plus Size Women out there but Columbia made this a "no brainier". It has a two way zipper plus snaps for closure with Velcro adjustable cuffs & a gererous attached hood. I ordered the 1X...I normally wear an XL or 1X weighing in at 190 with hips of 47" I chose the red which is more like paprika but is soooooo attractive. It came in VERY handy on the golf course already keeping my upper body dry because we were hit with a torrential ran for at least a half an hour.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice jacket I considered three different rain coats from Columbia, but chose this jacket for its rainproof claim , the others were water resistant. Other reviews said sizing was small, and I wanted it for layering over a sweater, so I got the next size up. It's a bit big, but the Velcro wrist tabs keep the sleeves in place . It's an excellent jacket for travel!! Just roll up and stow in your carry on and you will be prepared for any rain storm that comes your way !

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a suitable style I really needed a good rain jacket for travelling and I thought this one would be the one. Unfortunately, the cut/style of this coat is very odd. As others have stated, the sleeves are unreasonably long, and the coat flares out considerably from the waist over the hips. Also, I ordered the Sedona which is not at all grey as it appears on the screen but a dull khaki colour. Overall, very disappointing. I had to return this jacket. On a related note, when I previewed this review, the site indicates that this review was "incentivized" -- I'm not sure what that means but I was not incented in any way to write this review. Rated 5 out of 5 by from First review I really like the Columbia products, where it does run a tad smaller than I would like, it is a great quality jacket and I look forward to it raining so I can wear it!! (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little jacket I bought this jacket primarily for the wet spring and fall days on the East coast, but now I find I grab it all the time. It's so easy, lightweight, multifunctional and folds up well. The hood is too big, hard to see when you have it up but other than that I love it. I bought 2X and I can easily fit a bulky sweater underneath. The black is classic but I think I'd like one in a brighter colour too. Definitely recommend this product. Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice looking jacket, but definitely not waterproof Got this jacket to wear outside walking the dog or working out in the rain. The fit is a bit strange, tight in the shoulders but loose elsewhere. Still,I liked the looks of it enough to keep it. And needed a waterproof jacket, which is hard to find in plus sizes. Had this jacket out for the first time today in a steady drizzle for an hour and 20 minute walk. Got home to discover that I was pretty wet. Shoulders, arms, chest, tummy and even back were drenched. And there's no way it was sweat. The jacket seems to breathe well, but I'd in no way call it waterproof. I'm very disappointed. I'd had such high hopes that it would be as advertised, waterproof and breathable. In hindsight,it's not worth the money I paid (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fall/Spring Jacket I ordered a 2X as I am a size 18-20 however in retrospect I should have paid more attention to other reviews and ordered up. The sleeves are snug and would not be able to layer well for winter thus my review title is for Fall/Spring. Item would be better with a raglan sleeve.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Like wearing a trash bag There is no lining on the arms. If your arms are wet when you put it on, your arms stick to the fabric. I expected better from a well respected company and for the price. It doesn't breath at all. I ended up taking it off and hiking in the rain with my rain pants only. I was very dissatisfied.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I am soaked as I'm writing this I live in Portland and am currently in San Francisco where it's drizzling, I've had this jacket for a little over a month, and I am soaked. I've walked for about 40 minutes in the drizzle this morning and the inside of the jacket is wet. My upper back started feeling cold and damp within minutes. Totally inadequate. I have several other Columbia products that I like, and I like this jacket but it's worthless if it doesn't keep me dry.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from perfect rain jacket for daily use Love the cut of this jacket. My friend bought it is blue and it was so stylish, not bulky and kept her dry. I had to get one too. Perfect for fall/spring showery days when you don't want to look too sporty. Fabulous for travel because it can pass for evening activities. The black is a little dull compared to the other colors. I wish it has a little visual texture like the blue, or that it was charcoal--something a little different.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Buy True fit (which is important) i was able to wear a hoodie underneath and was still fine to move around, certainly keeps me dry and most of all I love the print! It's rain season in Seattle I'm sure I'll be using it all the time!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Splash A Little Rain Jacket This is perfect for rainy Washington and Oregon weather. It's waterproof and longer than most typical rain jackets, which is exactly what I was looking for. The fabric is a periwinkle blue with a patterned background. The jacket is well-made - the quality I've come to expect with Columbia products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dry in Sleeting Rain Purchased jacket for my walks to the gym in the heavy winter rains in Vancouver. I had to remove the tags attached to the zipper in order to try the jacket on when I received it; however, having done so, I discovered I couldn't return the jacket for a smaller size once the tags were removed which was annoying. I wear the too large jacket with a heavy hoody under it which is fine for the winter months but unfortunately, will have to purchase another jacket in a smaller size once the spring arrives. The jacket definitely keeps me dry on my walks to the gym and has a dressier look if I want to pair it with jeans for a trip to the mall. Highly recommend this style although, unlike the picture online the jacket is NOT fitted through the waist and is more boxy looking. The length is great but it would be nice to have a drawstring on the bottom. If you think you need a 3x per sizing chart, try the 2x first.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall a good product, but some minor complaints. I thought this coat would fit a little longer judging by the photo, but as others have said, it's a little boxy in plus sizes. I'm also tall. That said, it's got plenty of length in the arms, which is wonderful if you're tall and/or broad shouldered or just have long arms. Nothing ruins a jacket intended for weather like the sleeves being too short, so I'm very happy about the sleeve length on me. The fabric is noisier than I would like, but the jacket is lightweight, which is what I was looking for so I can walk the dog in summer rains without completely dying from heatstroke. I'm a 1x/2x on top and 2x on bottom in Columbia gear. I got a 2x to make sure it would zip comfortably over my hips, and this has enough room for a Benton fleece jacket underneath for cooler weather. The "ruby red" colour is a very pink red. It matches the colour on my screen better than its name. I wish Columbia stocked a true red or a slightly darker red. The pinky reds that most things come in for the last season or two are not really doing it for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my jacket! I love this jacket! I get compliments on it when I go out. It's a perfect lightweight rain coat for Vancouver. It generally fits true to size, although I found the sleeves a little snug.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good jacket but I couldn't find a fit I usually wear a 2X in Columbia jackets but this coat was huge on me. I did try a 1X but it was too snug in the hips and waist. I had to return both. The fabric is really nice and I loved the fact that it had snaps and a double zipper but it just didn't fit. Maybe the longer style isn't for my body type. Darn. P.S. Columbia, it would be nice if you could provide prepaid return labels or better yet, give members free return shipping. Thanks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Little small This rain jacket runs a little small through the body and has very long sleeves. I wear a 2X and ordered a 3X based on other reviews. It is still a great jacket though you might want to order a size up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! This is exactly what I was looking for. A nice, waterproof shell with a good hood. No warmth in this, it's a thin, waterproof layer, but it fits nicely and I can definitely wear a sweatshirt underneath. I usually wear a size 18 and I got the 2x. The hood is nice and big, and has an adjustable Velcro in the back so that it doesn't fall into your face. It looks like it will keep my glasses dry while I walk my dog, very important to me! I ordered the Ruby Red and it is lovely! Very bright and has a more pink color than red. I like that it has a full row of snaps, so that it does not need to be zipped up. The pockets have zippers which is nice, and there is a little breast pocket on the left side. This jacket is perfect!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It will keep the rain out, cover your but, and look a little boxy This will keep the rain out. The seams are good, it's long enough and the hood comes far enough forward that it won't drip on your nose. I'm very happy with this jacket and can easily fit a sweater under the 2x. Standing up, it's a little boxy looking. I'm going to say that it's worth it, because there is enough material to cover even when I'm sitting down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket just too large! I tried the XL in store and it was a little snug around the middle, so went home and ordered the 1x. When it arrived it was way too large!! Wish there was something in between. I had to return it. So, I will review to the return process. That went just great! I got an email the minute it arrived and the money was processed and back into my account within a couple days! Good job, Columbia!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Sizing I ordered a 3X for my daughter as I find some Columbia clothes fit very close to the body. I was pleasantly surprised at the generous fit and have to re-order a size down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Alaska bound! Alaska cruise in August 2016 - needed something rainy/protecty for inclement weather. Glad to find something in my size, in a colour I liked, and at a reasonable price. Fits like a dream, love the zip pockets and hidden inside pocket, the adjustable hood and the fact it is breathable while keeping me dry. Bought it a size larger bc I am wearing vests, hoodies underneath. Very very pleased with it and you can't go wrong with Columbia quality. I have a man's winter jacket I bought at a charity shop for ten dollars about fifteen years ago and it is still cozy as a dream. The cost per wear on this works out to pennies. Should last me another 20 years! Buy with confidence!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great coat! I love this coat and would recommend it. I bought a size 1X and it fits great in the arms which are normally too tight. It covers my behind which most coats don't. It's large enough to fit a sweater underneath. I love this coat so much I thought two!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good rain coat that breathes I have gotten a few compliments when wearing this coat. It's breathable and easy to wear. The coat ran a little large.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Order your normal size. I really like this raincoat because I wanted something longer that the jacket I have. I tried on the XL in the store and it was snug enough at the hips that I thought I wouldn't be able to wear a sweatshirt underneath so I decided to order on line. So I carefully measured myself and ordered the 2X in blue based upon the size chart here. It took a week to arrive and it was huge - I think I could have wrapped it around me twice and the sleeves were well beyond my fingertips. So I returned it at the local outlet and ordered the 1X online in pink (blue had sold out). After a week it just arrived and it is still a bit too large for me but I am keeping it because they don't make a 0X nor an XXL and I really like the coat. with the velcro cuffs I can make the sleeves work. And I think it will layer nicely with a bulky sweater or sweatshirt and still be easy to move in. The only thing I don't like is how the hood adjustment looks - there is a loop of elastic that sticks out on either side of my face. (see photo) The adjustment works great meaning it fit my head and face without covering my eyes or being loose. What I learned is the size charts don't line up with sizes and you should order the size you would buy in a department store. And I wish Columbia would make a 0X and also carry women's sizes in the retail stores.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Bright Colour Colour: I was very happy with the colour of the jacket - I purchased the Miami Lace Print. It's bright and the pattern is very feminine. Size: I ordered a size up (3X as opposed to a 2X) based on the reviews that the jacket fit small and I am swimming in this jacket. I could wear 2 sweaters under it and it would still have room for more. I will return for a size down. Material: The jacket is quite thin, I was expecting a little more to it - however it will be great for wet days camping this summer and will not make me too warm. It has light mesh type liner inside it, but not on the arms - that may prove to make it feel sticky if wearing with a short sleeved shirt in the summer. Overall: Overall, still content with my purchase - just wish i ordered my size rather than going up a size.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too much grey Loved this waterproof jacket but was too noisy - sounds so crinkley for me. Just a little big.
Date published: 2016-04-24
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too small I should have listened to other reviewers. This item was way too small in the shoulders and arms. I couldn't even get it on, and it was a 3X and I normally wear 2X. Columbia, I hope you realize that when people wear a 3X, they are usually fat, and that means fat arms. Sent it right back.
Date published: 2016-01-27
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Plain Jane tight in the chest and upper arms Great quality nice fit every where but upper body. I am a 2x-3x normally and bought 3x so I layer it but it would be tight fit with sweater so returning it. 3x pardon my trench fits looser.
Date published: 2015-10-30
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice This jacket is perfect for rain and really keeps you dry. It's not a super warm coat but it works if you layer because there's a little wiggle room. I did go a size up though, if I had gotten a 1X it wouldn't have fit my shoulders. The design is a bit awkward, the back poofs out a bit on me, but maybe that's just me. Overall, it's a really great jacket that'll get the job done leaving you free to splash around a little.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't wait to go to London I've been looking for a true waterproof jacket for years. This one REALLY is. The first thing I did after trying it on was to hold my arm under the kitchen faucet and watch the water roll off. I always thought Columbia was too expensive for me, but it isn't and the quality is superb. I fall between 2 sizes so I bought the larger size and there is plenty of room for a sweater or fleece under it. The picture doesn't do the fabric pattern justice. It is very understated and almost looks like a Harris tweed pattern. Just bought my husband a Columbia jacket with the same waterproof fabric.
Date published: 2015-10-01
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Keeps You Dry The jacket is a decent quality but there is no lining in the sleeves so the sleeves instantly stick to your bare arms and it is uncomfortable. The bottom back poofs out and looks silly. The jacket folds up nicely to put in the bottom of my rucksack for easy access. I wore the jacket on a cruise to Alaska and the two times it rained I stayed dry. I normally wear a size 2X but I knew it would be freezing cold by the glaciers(and it was) so I chose to purchase a 3X to fit over my fleece hoodie. I still had enough room to comfortably move my arms and bend without feeling in a bind and I was really warm but not hot. I bought a mens omni-tech jacket for my husband and there is lining in his sleeves! What's up with that? Put lining in the women's jacket's sleeves too please!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You definitely get what you pay for! I bought this jacket for camping and for staying dry. It has done everything it has been bought for. The price may be a little up there, but it is definitely worth it. Love this jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very functional This coat is exactly what I was looking for. The day I got it we had torrential rain and I wore it and it kept me dry. It is a lightweight and breathable coat. The back is slightly longer and I love the fact that it covers down to my knees. Perfect for warm weather but could wear layers with it for extra warmth if there is a cool rain out there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Winner! I wanted a nice rain jacket with a hood. I like that the jacket is long, so it keeps me covered better in the rain. I bought it a little big, so I could use it in the winter with a sweater underneath and in the other seasons without. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mom Rain coat This is just your typical Mom raincoat with those great Columbia bells and whistles. It is a big through the body, but a little tight around the arms, typical problem for me. It bells out a little on the bottom- especially in front (yuck) which was almost enough for me to send it back. I have had a ton of trouble finding a raincoat this season and this was the best that I have found. I got the black and blue print, which is pretty without being IN YOUR FACE bold. the sleeves are plenty long and have adjustable straps. It's not to heavy, perfect for spring/fall, and the hood is adjustable and big enough for a pony tail or bun. the two way zipper sticks a bit. but it's a nice feature.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple lines and secure pockets Great for travel, because it's so lightweight. Gave 4 Stars because Sleeve length is a little long, but better than too short. Also, upper arm is a little snug, not roomy enough to comfortably wear a thicker sweater underneath for layering. Love that the hood fits snuggly to keep you protected and is adjustable and fantastic that the front pockets have zippers! Good thinking, Columbia!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This is absolutely not red I can't imagine a world where someone would call this red, hibiscus or otherwise. It's hot coral. (Do an image search for "hot coral" and you'll see the color of this jacket.) I think many people who want a red raincoat would object to this color, so Columbia needs to call it something else, and fix the product photos, because they are totally misleading. I never would have ordered this if I'd known it was coral. This was a big waste of my time. The shoulders on this jacket are too tight for me, but the fabric bags up under the arms and below the bust, and the A-line sticks out at the thigh. I'm tall but the sleeves are a good 2" too long. I have a generous bustline, but in this jacket, my chest looks tiny and my stomach looks bigger than it is, because of the seaming and weird fit. The top of the hood hovers a couple of inches above my head. Not good. I'm really disappointed. I bought two jackets with the thought that I might have to return one, and I'm glad I did. (In short, the shoulders run small and the rest of the jacket runs large--I don't have big shoulders, either. My sister is four inches shorter than I am, different build, smaller, and the shoulders were too tight on her, too.) I've had an Arcadia jacket for a few years, and I just received my second, in a larger size (for layering). The Splash a Little is longer and lighter-weight than the Arcadia, has an easy-to-use two-way zip, and its zipper panel has snaps instead of that awful "hook and loop," which is all good, but the Arcadia is still way better. The shoulder/chest seams on the Arcadia are really flattering and the cut is roomy enough for movement without being baggy. It feels "tougher" as well. I wish it were longer and had a two-way zip, but them's the breaks. I'd recommend that one if you like being able to move your arms comfortably!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works for me! I ordered this jacket before a spring trip where I needed one jacket to span temps from the high 30s to low 60s (and possible rain). Here's what I like: 1. It's roomy enough to wear layers underneath. 2. For packing purposes, it squashes down into an unbelievably small space and looks fine when you take it out. 3. The side pockets zip, which is great for holding keys, gloves, etc. without fear of losing them. 4. The length provides more coverage in case of rain than many jackets, but without the bulk of a trench coat. 5. It's warmer than it looks if you are walking around a lot. My one complaint is that the zipper is hard to work. Despite more than 30 years of independent zipper experience, I struggle with it every time. When I am in a hurry, I just do the snaps. Based on the size guide and my hip measurement of 48, I originally ordered a 2X and was swimming in it. I returned the 2X for a 1X, and the 1X works well, even with a fairly bulky sweater underneath.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It works, but it's nothing special I did end up keeping this jacket because honestly I just needed a waterproof jacket that looked a little more like a coat, so I could wear over a suit or dress for work, for instance. I am a little disappointed with this jacket. It looks fine, but it's not really that stylish. While I appreciate that it's lightweight, it feels and looks kind of flimsy -- not nearly as nice as I wanted it to when I'm spending $100+ on something. The zipper is a nightmare -- the two bottom zipper pulls are nearly impossible to line up and zip with ease. Luckily, there are snaps as well, or I'd have had to send this one back. Again, I was a little bit desperate to get a rain jacket quickly (Seattle) so this will do. I just wish it was nicer than it is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly as advertised I really like this jacket - it is a little large, but that is my own fault I read the reviews that stated the arms ran small, so I ordered a size up. Mistake on my part - I would say it is true to size. Everything else is great!
