Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect for my needs! I love this jacket. It's exactly what I had in mind when I began shopping for the item! However, I was surprised to find it ran so small that in order to layer a sweater I had to move from my normal sizing of "medium/12" to extra large in this garment. Only negative is the length of the sleeves; for average build one needs to cuff or have altered. May 14, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Buy Only Columbia Jackets Love your jackets. I only buy Columbia. They are comfortable and waterproof. Moving from Chicago, I gave away all my other jackets I had. I love the inside security pocket. I always look for that feature and that's the jacket I buy. Keep up the good work. Thank you! April 5, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Rain jacket Ordered this online, and wore it on a visit to Seattle. It kept me dry and fits very nicely. The only issue I have, is the zipper gets stuck a little. March 13, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Native Oregonian Being a native Oregonian I am used to the rainy weather. This coat was great because it has plenty of pockets, arm length longer (and I prefer that), feminine fit...LOVE that! Love the hood and that it can be adjusted, length is perfect. Purchased a large so that I could layer and even without layers it doesn't look like I'm wearing my husbands too large ski jacket. March 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by raincoat My friend has this exact coat and I loved the way it fit and looked. It will be a great addition to the Columbia jackets I already own. Perfect for the rainy weather and lightweight enough for spring/fall weather. I really like the longer length, which gives better coverage in inclement weather. January 25, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by LOVE this jacket A great lightweight rain jacket! I recently moved to the Pacific NW, so needless to say I was in need of a high-quality, waterproof jacket. I've worn this out in the rain a few times and it is completely waterproof. It's very lightweight but can easily accommodate a sweater if it's a little chilly out. The hood also completely covers your face which is great. I usually wear a small (5'4", 115lbs) and the small fit really well. The bottom seems a little tighter around the legs than is common, but I went on a pretty long hike and had no issues going up and down hills. January 18, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by NOT for real rain! Living in the upper left corner of Oregon and spending lots of outdoor time in all seasons, I would love to find a breathable raincoat. This isn't it. Soaks through the shoulders after 20 minutes and EVERYWHERE after a longer time. Love the design and the cut; the quality is fine, and it will get you across a parking lot or two but don't count on it for the trail. January 15, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Too short for rain! Legs still get wet Columbia, why in heavens don't you make longer raincoats for women? We don't like to get our legs wet above the knees! This definitely keeps the elements out as far and wind and rain, and the hood is very functional but please make some more longer lengths! And yes, be sure to go up a size if you have normal hips. January 13, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfortably dry all day! I read some of the other reviews before purchasing this product and wondered if I would have some of the same problems (zipper difficulty, hood having no cinch so it would fall when windy). Not at all! The zipper can be a little fickle but I appreciate that you can unzip from the bottom for comfort when sitting. Additionally, the cinch and Velcro adjustment in the hood is perfect; there's even a little brim to help keep drips out of your face. It's lightweight so very easily stowed away into a larger purse or bag. That being said, I did go up one size so that I could layer underneath for warmth if needed. But, it doesn't end up being too baggy without layers because it has somewhat of a more feminine shape than just straight down like men's wear. I love the pocket placement and the little one on the inside. I have stayed completely dry during record rainfall in Portland, OR. The only thing I find myself wishing it had at times are zippered armpit vents as rain gear can get a little muggy on the inside. Thank you :) December 25, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by perfect rain jacket light, comfy, modern fit. love the way the jacket fits. I use it as a commuter jacket December 23, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very nice light-weight jacket The color is beautiful and the fit is small like the other reviews say. I also ordered this jacket in the cream and moss in a size small because I wasn't sure what size/color my daughter would like. She is a size 2/4 and 5'7". I was afraid the medium would be too big but I think it is going to be the right size. The big difference between the small and medium is the length, which was a positive. The zipper on this particular jacket was hard to get started; however, the other two jackets connect and zip easily. December 21, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful Jacket This is the perfect all around rain jacket. Its long enough to cover most of my clothing. December 16, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fabulous rain jacket! Look no farther for a great rain jacket...this one is the best...a little longer length keeps you covered and fashionably dry in wet weather. The fabric is smooth and comfy...nice style with big pockets to hold whatever you need. The hood is big enough to keep you covered. I love this jacket so bought it in the rich blue colour and in the white/grey print so I am all set for spring and fall use! The jacket is slightly fitted which looks stylish so that is why I mentioned it fits small...no problem because it has style for a rain jacket and doesnt look like a bag. I have had lots of nice compliments when wearing this. December 16, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product! I decided to buy this raincoat so I could do like the PNWers and forgo an umbrella in the rain in NYC. This jacket is very light weight so I can wear it in the occasional summer rain, plus there is a bit of room to layer for cooler temps. The material is awesome and keeps me dry. I typically wear a medium and sometimes large (I'm 5'6" chest 36C 150 lbs) but I'm pear shaped and my hips don't lie so I went with a large like recommended and the fit is great. I still have room on top but no problems zipping the jacket over my hips. Awesome product overall! December 11, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not Waterproof This jacket is advertised as waterproof. It is not. I'm native to the PNW and live in Portland, OR. This jacket is unable to stand up to a 20 minute commute out in the fall rain let alone a few hours hiking outside. If you're looking to stay dry, I would recommend you spend your money on another product. If you're buying this jacket because it's cute and it occasionally sprinkles where you live, it'll suit you well. December 7, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Stylish and packable I ordered this jacket to wear while traveling since it can roll up and fit inside my purse when I'm not wearing it. The material is breathable do you don't get as hot as with other rain jackets. I like that the sleeves have velcro so you can adjust at the wrist for extra warmth. The fit is cute so I didn't feel out-of-place in trendy Tokyo. I didn't have issues layering over another jacket. However, despite the positives, rain seems to seep through the jacket if it's doing more than sprinkling out. The hood does not have a cinch for your face and therefore has to be held in place or it blows backward. As other reviewers have stated, the zipper is tricky every time and is impossible to do while walking. I guess you can't have it all, but I still like this jacket! December 1, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love it Great length, waterproof, beautiful purple. I get so many compliments on this jacket. My two qualms however, hood could stand to cover the face more, still get pelleted in the face with the rain. The zipper can sometimes cause me trouble and I give up at that moment and use the buttons.....feature better than Velcro November 28, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Not your ordinary-looking rain jacket! This coat does run pretty small. I would normally wear a large and have room for layers underneath but with this one I got the extra large, and have room for only a light vest. I really like the pattern and color (blue) and that it has a feminine shape. It seems waterproof so far. The only drawback for me is that the hood isn't removable or able to be folded into the collar. November 22, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Rain Proof Under Review Still need to put this jacket to the full rain test but I love the look and fit. It was rain proof in a drizzle. Bring it on PNW weather! November 18, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Like it but runs small In all of my other Columbia coats I wear a Large but with this coat even the XL is snug. November 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great raincoat Good looking raincoat. Lightweight and easy to travel with. Very packable. Shoulders run a little tight. I normally wear an XS, but had to take a S in this product. However, liked it so much I'm ordering one for my mother. November 1, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great jacket if you wear it with a tshirt I was so excited when I ordered this jacket especially given the weather on the east coast. I opened the box and tried on the jacket. It fit like it belonged to my godchild. It was tight in the shoulders and there is no way that I could have worn a blouse or sweater underneath. I call the Sony store in NYC to get a bigger size but they have it. I had to reorder and return. Which is a huge inconvenience and I won't get the credit for the shipping fee. I'm not sure if I will order on line again October 19, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Little It's very good but it runs a little small. September 29, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not at all waterproof All the tags and labels called this jacket waterproof. It was water proof for maybe the first 5 mins of light rain, then it leaked all the way through, and I was soaked for the rest of the day. Unfortunately I really didn't test it in the rain until 2 months after I bought it, so I couldn't return it. I regret buying this jacket and would return if I could. Its was such a bummer because the fit is so nice. September 16, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not waterproof I bought this jacket this spring to wear during the cooler summer days. I wear this jacket all the time and it is very comfy and breathable. However this jacket is not waterproof. Even in light rain water seeps through at the shoulders and leaves you soaked as if you weren't even wearing a jacket. I am very disappointed as I love the fit of this jacket but it is dry impractical because it does not keep me dry whatsoever. September 12, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Must have in wardrobe I love every part of this jacket. Kept me dry while commuting to work and class. The adjustable hood prevents it from blowing off in the wind which was key for me. It's a longer length and will cover your bum but is not so long that it is overwhelming. Fits amazingly. Note that it is fitted at the waist. I find the fit flattering but still roomy enough to layer underneath. It is also thin enough that I often layer this under a lighter, spring jacket. Zip up pockets prevents your phone/keys from getting wet. Truly no complaints. Staple in my wardrobe that I would gladly pay full price for. I am rather petite and it is often difficult to find jackets that fit all over. July 7, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Water resistant, not waterproof There are many things I like about this rain jacket-- the long length is practical, it's lightweight and portable, and the bright color (hibiscus) is great for visibility. I got a size up (I usually wear a small, bought a medium)in order to fit a sweater or jacket beneath it. Works great as a windbreaker for cold/windy weather. I searched through many options from many brands before choosing this rain jacket for my work. Unfortunately, I just got back from a camping trip in which I was able to "test" my intended use for the jacket-- mild rain, and walking through wet vegetation. I was wearing a light jacket and t-shirt beneath the raincoat, and both of them were wet after about an hour. The rain soaked through the raincoat, through the jacket beneath it, all the way to my tshirt. The raincoat failed to perform its intended function completely. April 7, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Jacket fits like a dress shirt This jacket is a very lightweight rain jacket which would lead you to believe you can wear a sweater or sweatshirt underneath it on a rainy day. I read some reviews and sized up one size and the jacket still fit me more like a dress shirt. The only thing that would fit underneath it would be a bra. I had to send it back and they won't even pay the return shipping even though it is clearly their fault. I'm normally not a complainer but this is ridiculous. I am now totally unimpressed with Columbia. I used to think of quality when I thought of them but not anymore. Now it's just cheap garbage like everything else. They have lost a customer! March 3, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointing raincoat I appreciate those who share reviews, good and bad. Hope this one is beneficial. Previous reviews stated this raincoat ran small, so I ordered a sized up to a Medium. I wear a small. Nevertheless, the medium was too small; its sizing compared to XS (returned it). Needing a coat roomy for layering, I ordered the XL, which fit nicely, not too big-a neat look. Upset about ordering the larger size, I took exact measurements. This XL is actually Medium sizing…so beware; this coat really runs slim - due to style or incorrect sizing (?). The sleeves are slim for layering but okay; they’re long and adjustable-Velcro or turned up (2 inch hem gives a neat appearance). Hood has great coverage. Contrary to reviews, the two-way zipper works fine (give a quick glance to align the tracks). Guaranteed rainproof, I tested its limits for cold/wind on a southern 8-degree, 20 mph windy day. Layering with a long-sleeved shirt, silk sweater, and fleece jacket, the coat did fairly well (not toasty warm but didn’t freeze either). NOW the cons! The coat (black) seemed to be a magnet for all dust, lint, airborne particles, none of which just brushed off. This is unacceptable for me, my job, and required travels. Also, there was a hole in the left pocket seam due to faulty sewing. Coat has crinkling sound and it wrinkles. I didn’t mind the used packing box, but it was barely taped together and parts of the garment hung out. Folks, returns are so costly and having to return this second coat due to sizing, poor quality and workmanship is frustrating. My first purchases with Columbia were so very disappointing that they’ve lost a customer. February 22, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice looking style This rain jacket fits well and looks good. It is just the right length to keep you dry. The zipper from the bottom helps you to sit in the car and then zip up for walking. I totally recommend this jacket. Love having a hood also. The weight is good for packing in a suitcase. It takes up hardly any space and is real handy. Add a sweater underneath for warmth if needed. February 12, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice jacket I live in the rainy northwest and have several rain jackets for different purposes but I still needed a lightweight jacket that covers my rear end, has some feminine styling and is in-between casual and dressy. This fits the bill. I bought the red because I wanted something that would make me more visible while out walking on dark rainy nights. I almost always buy dark colors when it comes to jackets so I was a little uncertain about such a bright color but I've gotten compliments on it already. I have only two complaints: it has no zippers under the arms to allow for venting on warmer days and it could use an interior zipper pocket. Overall a nice jacket and I would recommend it. February 8, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Mixed feelings - but overall good Love how this fits and looks. So far works ok in terms of shedding rain. Just two complaints: 1) The double zipper is very hard to engage - you have to really yank down on it in order to zip. 2) the cinch cords on the hood do not stay in place and are difficult to secure - so on a rainy windy day the hood keeps flying off February 1, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Stayed dry I'm 5' 5", a size 12, usually in between a M and a L, read the reviews and bought an XL. I wore it over a long-sleeved tee and light polar fleece jacket - wasn't much room to spare, especially in the arms and shoulders. The sleeves reach almost to the first knuckles on my fingers, so I can easily curl my fingers in out of the rain, or velcro the sleeves snugly about my wrist. I'd prefer a longer jacket, as it barely reaches mid-thigh, but I walked for two hours in light rain, and stayed reasonably dry. A little damp around the cuffs. January 28, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fitted, classic looking jacket perfect for women:Awesome I love how this jacket is fitted to a woman's figure! This is why some reviews say it runs small. It fits perfectly yr size w 1 cotton layer under it. If u need warmth (have a fleece or sweater under it) or have a fuller figure, choose the next size larger. I'm 5'7",150lbs,sz M. The zipper is fine, but U need to make sure the 2 zippers are completely lowered & held on the one side, while inserting the bottom part of the other side of the zipper. Pull this bottom part completely down to the end of the 2 zippers. Then try to zip the coat. If the 2 ends of the zipper are uneven, it won't zip. This is true of most zippers. January 22, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by So happy with this purchase! I live in Oregon where it rains....I wanted a longer length rain jacket that was waterproof. I searched many stores in person and on-line and kept coming back to this jacket. I LOVE it! I bought the hibiscus color and have had many compliments. I am about 5 ft 3 in and weigh 150 lbs. I bought the XL so that I could wear a fleece vest under it when more warmth needed. This works great. The sleeves are long.....but I can either turn them up or tighten up velcro at the wrists! Walked in a rainstorm last week and stayed perfectly dry. I also like how the hood can adjust with velcro in the back. December 19, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by NW RAIN GEAR I live in Oregon, so rain gear is very important if you want to be able to function outdoors. I just needed a shell so i could use it all year warm or cold. The reviews and sizing guide say it runs small. I am 5'7" 150 lbs, normally i order a Medium so i sized up to a large. When I received the coat and put it on it seemed way to big. I put it on with a cardigan on underneath and it still had a lot of room. It was pouring rain out so I decided just to stick with it and wear it out for a walk. The hood had amazing coverage and room. No water got through at all, and i ended up being very warm after 30 minutes of walking. I decided just to keep it and I am happy I did. I wore it again with my Suit underneath and it fit with a just enough room to spare. I am happy I sized up and cant wait for the weather to get colder to bundle underneath! December 11, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Rain Jacket for the Pacific NW! Love this rain jacket! I live in Portland and we get pleenty of rain, so a good rain jacket is a must! This one works great, it is long (I am 5'7" and it hits well below the hips) and it is also thin so you could wear it in rainy weather no matter the temperature. There is still plenty of room to wear a thicker sweater underneath it as well. Overall a great jacket! November 16, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Soooo not waterproof :-( I bought this jacket as it was one of the few these days that still has a two-way zipper, and the back comes down a wee bit longer which would make it perfect for horseriding or riding a bike, or being active. First time I wore it was at a music festival where it poured. The only place dry by the time I went home was my head and shoulder area, and that was from my umbrella! Soaked right through to my skin everywhere, else including my back. Good thing the store took it back! Wondered if it was a bad batch as the person accompanying me wore their older Columbia with the same 'type' of waterproofing category and they stayed dry. I so had wished it was waterproof as I loved it in every other respect! October 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by LOVE IT! I live in Chicago and after last years terrible fall/ winter experience I quickly realized it was about function and not style, also that i had no coats with hoods. I bought this as my new fall coat and could not be happier! unfortunately it has been cold and rainy enough for me to break this out already and Ive gotten tons of compliments! im 5'8 and normally wear a medium/ small (i like my stuff more fitted) but after reviews reluctantly ordered the large, which im so glad i did! It fits just perfect, plenty of room for a layer underneath when it gets cooler and it is fitted and not boxy at all. Sleeves are freakishly long but i just rolled them up once and it looks like theyre supposed to be that way. I stay dry and warm and really love this coat. I wear this downtown for work everyday and it looks great with jeans as well as dresses or dress pants! September 12, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice Jacket but... 95% of the reviews on this site and other sites stated that the jacket runs small and recommended ordering a size larger. I did order a larger size but it was too big so I returned it. I am disappointed that Columbia does not cover the cost of shipping for exchanging an item. The closest store is over 2 hours away so I cannot return it to a store. March 28, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Johummingbird nice raincoat, just what i was looking for, reviews warned of coat size running small so i ordered large, slightly large but fine. March 6, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by NR125 It's been a little cold to wear this much, but it seems perfect for spring mist or rain. I'm out walking or hiking every day, so look forward to getting a lot of wear out of this coat. It's fitted and more stylish than other raincoats I've had. I like the bright red-orange because it makes me feel visible when walking along the side of neighborhood roads. The zip pockets, plus inside pocket are well positioned and are just big enough for a few dog treats or phone. The zipper and snaps are well constructed and the hood adjustable. All in all, a really nice coat that looks like it will wear well. February 25, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Defective Zippers! I had an immensely disappointing experience with this jacket! Although I loved the jacket itself, it came with a defective zipper. I could barely get it zipped up at all; it took many tries & much struggling, The 3rd time I wore it, the zipper stuck at the bottom & I could not unzip it. I ordered a replacement jacket of the same style, size & color, & it had the exact same zipper defect! I have to wonder about quality control at this point. I'm now waiting for a "Dusk2Dawn" jacket, hoping that there are no zipper issues. February 22, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by quality of garment I am absolutely in love with columbia cloths..Iam addicted..I wish I can get passes to their employee store often.. January 30, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very Happy Glad I went a size up, as people recommended. Like the tailored fit and the bigger hoodie that stays up when walking... January 17, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great basic rain jacket I live in Oregon, so it's essential to have a reliable rain jacket. This is my second from Columbia, and I love it. It's tailored well, so it isn't boxy and has a feminine feel. The hood is generous. It's also a bit long in the back, which is really what I was looking for. January 7, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great fit for a woman's body! I have not had a chance to wear this jacket to test the elements yet, however, once I received the jacket, I of course, tried it on, and the fit was small (I went up a size) but it was cut so nice for a woman's body! It wasn't just boxy as so many jackets like this tend to be. It was also light weight, and felt like it would still breathe while keeping you dry! The hood is very large - so I feel I will be very protected from the rain! December 16, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Stylish rain coat I should have listened to the reviews about the coat running small. I ordered my usual size medium from another on-line company and it was way too tight so I returned it and ordered a large from Columbia because that company did not have a large in stock. I love the coat and am glad I went through the hassel of returning it. You may want to mention that it does not run true to size. November 8, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great rain jacket! This is a very good light jacket, it is breathable but blocks the wind nicely. I wear it over a sweater usually when it is cold out, and I don't get overheated. November 1, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Stylish Rain Jacket Took heed of other reviews for the sizing of this rain jacket and ordered up a size. The cut is very stylish, and because of that, it is a rather tight-fitting jacket. I am 5'5", weigh 135, small boned. Normally a Medium jacket is quite loose on me so I was confident a Large would fit like I prefer coats to fit -- a bit loose. If I were to only wear this for summer rains, fit would be fine, but most of our midwest rains are in the spring and fall so fleece is a must for me. With layers under this coat, the arms were pretty tight. The rest of the jacket was snug, however, it was acceptable. Debated with myself because I really, really, like the jacket, however, ended up returning it because of the tightness when layering under the coat. October 21, 2013
