Women’s Storm Surge™ Rain Pant is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 75.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pants for kayaking in cold water These pants fit over a pair of jeans and will keep you dry and toasty. We are headed to Alaska and they will be perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked great, excellent price These worked excellently in the White Mountains, they kept me dry and warm in a mixed precipitation, high wind, cold situation. Fit over my hiking boots fine, stuffed small in my pack, and did the job as well as the $100 rain pants out there. Only thing I would change is the draw string because you have to tie it yourself instead of a cinch clip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent quality These pants are fantastic. They do what they are supposed to do and are built well. They don't have pockets but my rain coat does so its not a big issue. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keep me dry Perfect rain layer! I live in the Midwest and we get rain through the summer so I needed something to keep me dry that wouldn't make me hot. No side pockets but there is an interior key pocket at the waistband. Fits a little long but I'm petite and they didn't come in a petite/short. Fit at the waist but I look a little lost in them. Oh well they keep me dry and that's the point...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Useful Great value for the money. Would buy again when these eventually wear out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love them! Perfect for my purposes as an outdoor preschool teacher in Seattle!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from VERY Large I ordered these pants with high hopes to use them on an upcoming outdoor hiking trip. I used the size guide to determine I would need a medium. I am 5'1'' and weight 138 pounds. These pants were GIGANTIC! When I help them up out of the bag, they were so long they came up to my chest. The pants had an extremely wide leg and I was so disappointed that they would not work for my trip. The bag they came in was also missing any kind of order slip or directions on how to return. Very sad that these didn't work out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Buy~ Purchased these rain pants for my trek up Kilimanjaro and hiking in CO. Kept me dry and not overheated.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good waterproof pant My only complaint is that there is no zipper on the bottom of the pant so it is hard to get the pant over my shoes. Once on they are waterproof and comfortable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from ADD - Outside POCKETS please. :) Love these pants. They are awesome for Spring - Winter. In winter perfect to layer with thick leggings. However, it would be GREAT if they had outside pockets on the hip!! With or without a zipper. I would buy another pair if they had pockets. Also, other colors would be great too. White, blue, red, orange, purple. I walk my dog everyday and these pants are nice medium weight quality material.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pants I wore these out for the first time today in 0 degree temps and snow. They kept me dry and kept the heat in decently for not being snowpants! I have a hard time with getting pants that fit. I ordered a small based on size reviews and guide; I'm 5'6" 135 lbs and have some curves in the hips/thighs and find them to be a little snug over layers but dont limit mobility. I suspect a medium would be baggy but probably would have been ok too. I need a small and a half :p

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did the job! I bought these pants for a backpacking trip to Big Sur during April showers. They worked perfectly for me. I also wore them around the campsite to protect my sleeping clothes from getting wet if I sat on a wet log or anything like that. I do wish there were some kind of pocket on them just because I like pockets, but everything else I wore had a few pockets so it was fine that this did not. Some folks like to be able to put on rain pants without taking their hiking boots off in case of sudden rain. These dont have that function unless you have tiny feet, but that didnt bother me at all. I preferred to have the inside of them clean rather than shove my dirty boots through them. Only time will tell, but so far I am happy with my purchase and the performance over a long weekend trip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Fit and Nicely Constructed These rain pants not only fit perfectly but are warm and comfortable and wick the rain away. I live in Washington State where we've had more than enough rain days to use them! I would highly recommend these rain pants.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great pants for price These are nice rain pants. They are a little thicker than I was expecting. They are waterproof, attractive, good quality and fairly lightweight, just not quite thin enough that I would stick them in a backpack. However, wore during several days in Iceland, and kept me very dry. I recommend them, especially for the price!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very good I like these rain pants - I have used other brands before and they were too warm to wear over other pants. These are breathable and functional.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic pants I purchased these for snowmobiling and took them out yesterday. They didn't let me down. I was warm and dry and most importantly not hot or sweaty at all. I very much enjoyed my time and didn't even think about them after about 30 minutes. I knew they were good to go! Highly recommend these. I'm 5'4", 135lbs and the medium fit perfectly. Thanks for another amazing product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great rain pants! I had read previous reviews which indicated that these pants ran small and tight. (Reviews on Amazon) I am normally a women's large, because I need the length and I tend to wear layers underneath. I ordered an XL and I was swimming in them. Great pants. Quality construction. I had to return though because they were just too big.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for football games I got a pair and wore them to watch WSU play in a torrential down pour. They kept me dry and warm. Easy to fit over a pair of pants. I won't go to another game without them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Keeps You Dry I wore these over my pants when coaching track practice in the NW rainy Spring. Kept me super dry in 3 hours of rain multiple times. I also wore them in Iceland hiking for 4 hours in torrential rain. Again, stayed very dry.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good pant-not so good fabric I have recently bought this pant and used it for the first time last week in Alaska, during an all day rainy week. I used it almost all the time and always kept my under layers dry. I tried them on also without the under layers and felt comfortable as well in contact with skin. They allowed me any movement I needed to do during camping, hiking, and also sailing. They are very comfortable and looks really nice on me. I am 5'2'' and curved although my 110 lb, 27 1/2 waist and 38 1/2 hip, with regular inseam. Following the chart size I am an S, but as I already have another Columbia pants -snow pants, convertible pants- I know I am XS, so that's what I asked for and it fits perfect on me!! The only issue is that when arriving home I noticed that the bottom was a little scrapped and also got a small gash on one side. I could not believe that because I carefully avoided sitting down on surfaces that could damage the pant. I felt really disappointed when seeing that after the first use, specially because I loved the pant. I would like a harder fabric for the pant.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rainpants My pants fit perfectly, but the only thing was they were too long. I chose regular instead of the short length. I will probably return these and reorder in the short length.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tough and comfortable These pants have exceeded my expectations. I work as an outdoor professional and wear these for 5-6 hours at a time. I purchased a size medium. I am normally a small, but the medium fits perfectly in both waist size and length. I wear these over my regular work pants too. They are very lightweight which keeps my legs from getting too hot with both these and my regular pants on (hiking in about 50-60 degree weather). However, even though they are lightweight, they are tough. I push through a lot of brush (I don't hike on trails) on steep terrain, and these pants haven't ripped. I would not wear these as my only pants unless I was somewhere very, very hot as they are pretty thin. I like that you can adjust the tightness of the ankles to prevent the pants from riding up. They also fit nice in relation to where they fit on the hips. They are not up at the belly button, but they aren't low risers either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from totally preforms as described Purchased three months ago and have worn a dozen times in rain, 20mph wind, and snow. They have gotten me outside when I would not have gone before and I was totally comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I hoped for I live in the Pacific Northwest and rain is an ubiquitous presence. My wife needed something to keep her legs dry while walking the dogs, so I got these rain pants as a gift. They were perfect -- fitted so well she sometimes forgets she still has them on and wears them around the house. They keep the rain out but still breathes. I thought the legs might be long, but they work very well as they fit over her boots and just down to the foot. I am truly happy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A little short Had to replace my other waterproof pants because they had sprung a leak and was very happy with how these pants keep the water out! I use them for biking to work in Portland and they've been great in pouring rain. I'm 5' 5" and I ordered an XS-- they fit well but are a little short, didn't exchange them for a S because I liked the fit around the waist and despite being short they still don't leak. Highly recommend them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nice and dry I have worn many rain pants over the years and these perform perfectly. The fit is perfect for the more athletic build an XS actually fits (yahoo). no frills, nothing to go wrong, perfect simple design.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect! Bought these rain pants last year for a 2 week trek through Patagonia. In that region, one can see all 4 seasons (in an extreme way) in one afternoon. They kept me dry when I needed to be. I am normally a size 4 and the the Small size was perfect to wear other pants. I still had room to move.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for commuter cycling in rain Great for cycling in the rain in Seattle! Fit: If you are planning to wear them 'over' other pants, get a size up for sure. I am on average a size 6 (depending on the cut of the pant in question) and I ordered a size medium in these pants. Had plenty of room to pull on over my clothing-even my bulkier pants. They have a draw string waist to make up any difference so are very forgiving if you happen to find you have more room than you need in them on any certain day i.e. wearing them over thin pants vs. thicker pants underneath. NOTE: They would not be considered 'relaxed through hip and thigh' so if you are lucky enough to have great curves, take this into consideration and get a size up x2 for the scenario of wearing over your other clothing. These pants are cut fairly straight down from the waist. Waterproof - YES - Rain has just run off every time. Would recommend to a friend, enemy, frienemy(?) Happy rainy trails to all!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great pant but HUGE These pants run really really large. I ended up with an XS and they were still too large and had to sadly return

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pressure washing pant I work in a marina, and sometimes I have to pressure wash boat bottoms in the fall.(yuk) If I can't keep dry I am going have a miserable day or change my clothes 10 times. These do a great job!
Date published: 2013-11-16
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Runs Very Small for hips! I am typically a pants size 10. Seeing that these run small, I ordered a large. They are still very tight around the hips. I will be sending them back to get a size XL.
Date published: 2013-07-24
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy-care dryness The pants fit well and feel good on the skin, even when wet. The leg cuff is wide enough to get on over non-bulky shoes and can then be tightened. The thing I love most is that they can be thrown in the dryer on delicate, and they dry in a jiffy. Or, if I hang them in a line, they dry inside and out without having to be turned that way. That's important to me, because I use them on my rafting trips. It saves lots of time between them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rain Gear Pants These pants are awesome! Keeps out the rain and the mud. The Velcro tightening/hemming feature on the bottom of the leg is ingenious, it's great for shorter heights. The only thing is these pants are not very breathable and lack pockets, other than that a great buy. Buy a size up so they are not so bulky when layering in the winter months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Getting the job done. These pants are great! I was looking for an alternative to snow/ski pants- less bulk but just was waterproof. These do the job perfectly! I use them regularly for XC skiing, snowshoeing and ice fishing adventures. They are holding up really well in the knee and bum area on the jagged ice. They fit well too and allow plenty of movement for my 5'6, size 10 frame. A regular inseam is just right.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Too long Everything was perfect about these pants. The fit. The waterproof. Except I had to have them shortened about 3 inches, and I wanted to have the Velcro work to tighten the bottom around the foot, so I had to move one of the pieces of Velcro

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AWESOME! These keep you warm & dry!! AND as a bonus they look great!
Date published: 2012-10-07
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Rain Pants need to come in different lengths The pants are fine, but since they have openings at the bottom of the legs, they cannot be adjusted (hemmed) easily if you have short legs. It's nice to have them roomy, so you can wear over normal pants, but to get them big enough for that, they are several inches too long.
Date published: 2012-07-25
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Rainy Spring Through several downpours and non-stop drizzling I stayed high and dry. It was nice to get to enjoy some of the benefits of fishing in the rain without feeling like a drowned muskrat. I found my body temperature stayed at a comfortable range too with one exception. When the sun broke through on a few occasions (though never for very long) I found the black pants to attract the heat of the sun. I'm hoping Columbia comes out with these pants in some lighter colors. Maybe some that pair up nicely with their jackets for a polished, pro-uniform look on the water. I'll give these pants an 8 out of 10. I'm deducting a point because there are no pockets and because of black being the only available color. Other than that, this is a great product that I would recommend to anyone who wants to be able to fish rain or shine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Women's Storm Surge™ Pant Columbia buttered me up saying I am an intelligent and discerning shopper (and good looking, too) in requesting this review. Here ya go. I plan to use this pant for its intended purpose. It fits a little small in the seat, but that might be my personal problem. I like them.
Date published: 2012-02-10
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Rain Pants They certainly keep the weather out and that is number one. The pull on waist is an improvement, but I find the fit a bit straight for my curvy figure, so a little snug in the hip/thigh and loose in the waist. The velcro tabs at the ankles are great but I wish they could go tighter for bike riding.
Date published: 2012-01-15
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally, petite length waterproof pants! I have tried on many different pairs of waterproof pants, but until now, I just couldn't find a pair that didn't need to have at least three inches taken off the hem. With the velcro at the ankle, I can snug the hem and not be stepping on them as I walk. Great feature! The fit is true, just enough room for a base layer. I have yet to wear them in a heavy rain, so I can not comment.
Date published: 2011-12-22
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for over trousers Ordered large instead of medium, which is my usual trouser size, since I was looking for something to wear over trousers in the rain. Fit and quality is great, only pockets are missing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Pants I work in a grooming salon as a bather, and really needed some durable water-proof pants. These are absolutely awesome! The water just slides off of them. They're super comfortable and breath well. I'm definitely going to be ordering a few more pairs of these.
