Women's Switchback™ II Jacket is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 59.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great simple jacket This jacket is great. It is thin so don't expect warmth. It it true to size so if you need room for layering maybe order up a size. I am 5'8" 175 lbs 36C / curvy body type and medium fit me but I opetd for a large so I would have room for layers but just wearing the large doesn't look sloppy so that is a plus. It has a nice cut slightly athletic so it isn't boxy on me which I like.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rain shell Style is sharp. The fit is excellent and the jacket functions as a rain shell should. My wife loves it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from product has amazing features I brought this for my mom and she loves it. She sad it fits perfect and is very comfortable good for a nice spring day

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Rain Jacket Just today I used this jacket to ride my bike in the rain, and it worked like a charm. I bought size XL because I have a Columbia hoodie that XL, but I probably could have gone with a L. However, the size will be perfect for layering. The hood rolls up under the collar, which is a nice feature. The jacket really isn't made for warmth, so don't expect that. If you wan't to use it in chilly weather, you will need to layer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rain Jacket I loved the cut and fit but didn't care for the material. It was thin and clingy not like the previous jacket I had purchased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket Jacket is great quality and flattering fit. True to size. Would love it even more if it was lined

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Happy I was so excited to receive this jacket because of the crazy amount of rain CA has been getting lately and was terribly disappointed. First, it was too small, so it left no room for layers. Second, the collar was abnormally high and uncomfortable. The overall workmanship of the jacket was of perfect quality but the way the jacket was cut was weird.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from favorite jacket This has become my favorite jacket. It is nice quality, he hood is a good size, the design and look is very nice. I really recommended. I'm 132 5'2 I got a small.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Okay. It's okay. It's extremely thin! So I recommend wearing a sweater underneath it. I wear a small, I'm 5'2, 130 pounds & this jacket fits me a little large. Would of wished it was a slight tighter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice lightweight coat This coat is a great lightweight option. Living in Florida, we often have warm rain where I do not need a thick rain coat. This coat (in pink) is colorful and functional. The fit is a bit oversized as one would expect with most outerwear. If you want a slimmer fit, you may want to size down. I take an extra small regularly so that was not an option, but the extra small fits reasonably well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cute and stylish Stylish and love the collar. I got the white and it is snow white. Pockets too and hood tucks away out of sight.
Date published: 2017-02-05
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very thin see through material I usually wear a medium but I had to buy a large after reading the reviews. I bought this jacket color in white and it's completely see through. The material is also extremely thin. Very disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket, lightweight, fits true to size This is a very good jacket, overall. It's very lightweight. The fit is great, slightly slim around the waistline, which makes it look more fashionable than other rain jackets. I'm 5'4 and 115 lbs, I got a size small. It fits great with just a t-shirt inside. It's also roomy enough to wear on top of my winter bomber jacket. I recently wore this jacket to iceland in December, it kept me dry for most of the time in the rainy/snowy weather in the Nordic country. However, it can't withstand serious rain for extended periods of time. I wore it on a 3-hr hike in heavy rain, my inner winter jacket got wet by the end of the hike. Nevertheless, I would recommend this jacket to those who are not looking for something that's absolutely waterproof.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Raincoat I bought the yellow and, because I commute to work on my bike, I like the visibility. I also really like that it does not have a mesh lining and packs nice and small. Plus you can roll up the hood and not have it in the way of the helmet but it's there if you need it. Another great product from Columbia!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from In Love I bought this jacket in the mist color and I love it. It's lightweight but warm, you call roll it up and store it in virtually any bag. The hood zips into its own pouch when you don't want to use it. The only thing was I found the arms to be a little long, the cuff hitting me at my thumb joint instead of up near my wrist. I'm 5'5" and 135 pounds, I bought a small and it's perfect.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice jacket, but too big! As the title states, it's nice, but too big. I normally take an XS, but after reading other reviews about Columbia jackets running too small, I decided to get the S. Wish I got the XS. I'm about 5'4", 110 lbs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Thanks Columbia Affordable shipped to my house within 7 days. Thin material yet the sleeves are a bit long but, I can manage because it have velcro round the wrist to adjust the fit. I am 5'4 weighing around 158. The jacket I ordered is a medium, fits perfect roomy enough to fit another hoodie under the jacket . THANKS ! Can't wait to wear in the RAIN.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice light weight windbreaker I was looking for a waterproof light weight wind breaker to wear in warm weather. Nice fit & quality. Would recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice jacket with a nice feminine cut I ordered a medium which is my usual size in Columbia clothes but this jacket sizing runs a size smaller than what you would usually buy. I am a 36C and this jacket is obviously too tight under the arpits. And I tried it on wearing a thin tank top! The material is not totally opaque but I don't care about that. Has a nice feminine cut. Well made, I got the Hot Coral color and I love it. The sleeve length does run long; does have nice adjustable velcro on the wrist area. I like this jacket as it is soft and you stow it away. Strongly suggesting you order one size larger.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bright Orange This jacket described as Hot Coral is more like a BRIGHT ORANGE. It is pretty but way more orange than I expected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect! I have been waiting for a jackey like this my whole life! It's the perfect jacket for rainy days...Not for cold weather but definitely keeps you dry!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it The jacket is super light which makes it perfect for humid raining days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect I purchased this jacket for a summer Viking Cruise on the Rhine. One day we had light rain and another we had very heavy rain. The jacket performed beautifully. I was not the least bit wet. Since it folds into it's own pocket I was able to carry it in my backpack for all excursions. I love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! Great fitting jacket. It actually has some shape not a box cut! Love the hidden hood. Fits to size!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from well-designed and lightweight I was looking for something to be prepared for unxpected wind or deluge with the least inconvenience. Inconvenienced is lugging around an article of clothing that is bulky, awkward and heavy that in the end was unnecessary. A rain coat capable of handling tropical deluge requires a functional hood, cuffs and zipper; very tricky to do so remaining extremely lightweight, and this jacket nails it on the head. I am very pleased with Columbia's attention to detail when constructing this very cleverly designed jacket that can fit in a handbag practically unnoticeable, safe and secured within a zippered bag that can never be lost or misplaced. The only detail I can find left out is hanging loop at the collar to not risk damage to the hood by sharp edges but its light weight puts no great strain on the hood. I chose the extra large size to accommodate a variety of clothing and allow additional ventilation so necessary here in a climate that is humid enough when it's not raining. I could have used some clues how to bag it but once I discovered the 2 sided pocket zipper stuffing it in was a breeze and really appreciate there is no separate bag to keep track of. One must remember that features to achieve an exceptionaly functional hood also increase the garment weight as well as production costs passed down to the consumer. Also expect some degree of fragility in regard to sharp edges and violent tugging of zippers. I chose this jacket primarily for function, quality of construction and ability to withstand moderate abuse worthy of full price and with so much accomplished at so little weight, it is a bargain.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Jacket I love the jacket. The design is great. I am disappointed with the way it fits.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Meh I was so excited to get this light spring/fall jacket. It was everything I thought I was looking for but ended up falling short. First of all, its too light. I didn't think I wanted anything heavier but this is a jacket for a day when there is a slight breeze and its about 60 degrees, not windy 50 degree days. Second of all, (and this is my main dislike) it's a rain coat/ wind breaker. SO WHY WON'T MY STINKIN' HOOD STAY UP WHEN ITS RAINING AND WINDY!!!! This is the biggest complaint I have for this jacket. No matter what I cannot get that hood to stay up without holding it. This was really what I bought the jacket for and it doesn't meet expectations. Not sure if it is just the material or what but it is sooo frustrating! Wish I had a review like this before I bought it, so here ya go. I think this jacket could great if it was what you were specifically looking for but I just wanted to inform others of my experiences.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Chic lightweight rain jacket I love this jacket! Its perfect for warm climates and brightens up a rainy day while still looking good as a windbreaker. Its very lightweight and fitted. This jacket is exactly what I was looking for!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good spring jacket Not thick enough for winter, yet fuctionable and has a adjustive spring which is good because it's runs a tad big .
Date published: 2016-01-20
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pack light! Perfect pack light rain jacket. It has a more fitted cut to it. It will be perfect for rainy day dog walks for my mother. We are getting one size bigger to be able to add layers for winter wear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Instructions would help The jacket is stuffable in the left pocket, but it doesn't come with instructions how - I had to figure it out for myself. It gets a bit wrinkled after stuffing it, but the wrinkles do smooth out after a short time out of the pocket. Otherwise, it's great!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the style, not the color I love the style of this rain jacket. The cut/fitting is very flattering, but I have to admit that I'm not impressed with the White color. You can see right through this material because it's so thin. If you wear anything other than white underneath you see that color through the fabric, including your skin tone. Not what I was hoping for. I have a black one that I bought in another store & it works great for what I was wanting, the the White color needs some improvements!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps you dry! Took a walk in the rain and stayed warm and dry! The rain rolls right off. I washed it once and hung it to dry and it was dry in just a few minutes. The fabric softened up a bit too. I will wear it for years. It's perfect to roll up small for travel. The cut is nice for women and is flattering.
Date published: 2014-12-05
Rated 2 out of 5 by from A little disappointed I put on the jacket and started checking myself out in the mirror like any normal woman would when they get new clothes. I noticed that the neck piece was really stiff and kept jabbing into my neck, even without the hood hidden inside it. I also felt like the material could rip by the slightest brush of a tree branch. On the bright side, it was very breathable, and the sleeve and torso length was perfect. (not sure if torso is correct terminology). Plus it wasn't boxy, so it gives you a nice shape.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not what I was expecting when ordering this product I thought it was going to be a jacket that was cozy on the inside (ex. fleece) and the outside was a rain coat. This jacket is more like a $40 dollar rain poncho. It is the best rain poncho I have ever bought, but not what I thought I was ordering. So just for future customers this is not a jacket you can wear with everything, it is a rain poncho and that alone. (-: I still adore columbia but I think the detailing should be better so that it is clear that the jacket is rain poncho material.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not quite what I was expecting... I was hoping for more of a softshell jacket that I could use between seasons to be warm but not quite a winter-level jacket, but this is really just a rain shell. It works great as a light rain jacket and I love the way it fits, but wasn't really what I was hoping for.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like it...but... I love the color in pink (I have received several compliments) fit, and light weightness of it; however, it says it packs into the pocket, but my husband and I couldn't get it to work. We ended up rolling it up small and shoving it into my purse.
Date published: 2014-10-02
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works just fine For the most part i like this jacket. My critiques would be that the hood could come forward a little more and i wish there was some sort if mesh on the inside. Otherwise, it can be a little humid and sticky on the inside. Oh it also runs small in the chest. So a little snug but i never zip my jackets all the way to the top so it was fine. Any bigger and the jacket would be to big and not fit as nice.... But thats a problem with most things if you are more on the bustier side.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Switchback I like this jacket for repelling water, it's great! A huge wave crashed over me and I was still dry...However, it is not breathable AT ALL. I wore it on a small hike and I was sweating way more than I usually would be and it just trapped everything in. Other than that, its a great jacket. Super light weight. Simple. I love the groovy pink, but I also have it in black and tippet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hot Pink...YES! Love this jacket! I bought one for myself and ended up buying two more for friends who loved mine! The color is fabulous (hot pink!); it works as a rain jacket and a wind breaker; plus it packs nicely and very small.
Date published: 2014-09-18
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Rain Jacket This is an excellent rain jacket. It does run a little small. I have a small figure and long arms, so I have a large and it fits perfect. The rain beads up on the material. I have even worn it through a heavy rain, and it still worked perfect.
Date published: 2014-08-13
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Windbreaker!! I thought this was more of a jacket but it's only a windbreaker. It's so thin you can see the dark pockets. The groovy pink is GREAT! Quite a bit brighter than it shows.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice jacket Jacket has the quality I expected from Columbia.Unfortunately I should have believed others reviewers when told runs small.I would say it runs very small

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lightweight jacket! I got this for a nice lightweight, light color jacket for the spring/summer months, but I've had the chance to use it as a great top layer already. It's very comfortable and I like how easily it rolls/folds up to tuck away. Love the lilac!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Definitely good for light to medium rain, fits true to size. Good price for a not so heavy duty jacket.
Date published: 2014-02-12
Rated 3 out of 5 by from The jury is still out! I saw a Columbia jacket on someone I had traveled with and thought it looked so classic and nice. I ordered it in white like the one I saw. My first impression was its so thin I can see through it. I haven't worn it yet. I thought I could use when walking or biking. I guess I should have asked my friend the style name of her jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it This jacket is the perfect weight and material. It fits perfectly and it's very cute.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I expected more from Columbia This rain coat is great in that it's fashionable, lightweight, and a good price. it also has lots of pockets and a hood. the cons are that it takes forever to dry-- I walked to work in the pouring rain and when I got done with me 10 1/2 hour shift, it still was not dry. It also doesn't completely protect you from rain. When I got to work, I realized that my tummy and arms were completely soaked. I expected this to be better at protecting from rain. I was disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good buy on sale Fits like a glove....only issue is neck piece is quite high. I wish other colors were available in size small. I had to buy the white but it will be perfect for jogs on chilly damp days. Length and sleeves fit fine. I typically wear an xs or s in most tops generally speaking (34/B bra size, 5'4", 125lbs). If you want to wear thicker layers I suggest buying a size up.
