Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 72 reviewers.
Rated 2 out of 5 by disappointed I got this coat to replace this same style that I had bought a couple years ago. What a disappointment. The quality is downgraded. the inner sleeves no longer extend with a thumb hole to tuck inside of mittens. There is also no longer a flap on the outside of the jacket to cover the zipper October 27, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not what I was hoping for I needed a coat for snowshoeing in the Colorado Rockies this winter. I thought this would work, but the material was a little stiff and the zipper was sticky. I ordered both a xs and s based on other reviews. I'm a very petite woman, and the xs was the perfect length in the arms but too tight in the chest. The s was too big in the arms but good in the chest. The collar was also too high. When I zipped it all the way up on both sizes, the zipper went higher than the tip of my nose, almost to my cheek bones. I've got a coat with a similar collar from somewhere else and my neck gets strained trying to keep my nose above the zipper to breathe. I ordered the black geo print and was a little disappointed the print in the jacket isn't as prominent as in the picture. I'll be returning for something else. September 24, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Always Great Value Love this new ski jacket. True to Columbia's excellent function and value for the price. Fourth Columbia jacket I've owned and am certain I will use it for more than just skiing as it is a 3 n 1 jacket. September 24, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Haven't used yet (because it's summer), but fits great After researching a lot of different jackets and reading a lot of reviews I settled on this jacket. I'm going to live in Norway for 9 months and needed a jacket that would work for all weather. Although I haven't used it yet, I'm from the North and it certainly feels like it will be perfect for negative temps. I was afraid the fit would be weird but both the shell and the inner jacket fit perfectly! I am oddly shaped 5'8" 220lbs with an apple shaped body and it is very flattering and I love how long it is (I have a longer torso so this is super important to me). Also, I purchased the Black crossdye and it's not a dark black, it's more of a dark grey with the pattern very subtle. June 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by The perfect jacket Bought this jacket in March and it fits perfect, has many features and most importantly it keeps me VERY warm inner jacket is very nice and can be worn by itself. April 20, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent I bought this for snowboarding and I was really satisfied with it. I'm 5'3", 110lbs. XS is my normal size and it quite fits. I ordered it in Black Crossdye, and it looks stylish. April 7, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Fine Coat Bought this jacket for my daughter in law. She needed a new heavy coat for her trips to Snow shoe Va. This should fit the bill and handle the Fl. weather also since its three in one. April 1, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Very warm! I bought this as a cross functional jacket - to play outside with my kids and wear on the snowmobile. I finally got to test it out this past weekend snowmobiling. It was -10 with wind. I thought for sure I would freeze. To my surprise, this Jacket came through. Very warm!! My only complaint is I wish the inner layer was longer but otherwise I love this jacket. I am 5'5", 150lbs. Medium is my normal size and it fits perfectly. March 22, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Love the interchange function Jacket is not ideal for skiing. Not enough pockets and the inner jacket does not have zippered pockets. That said, I have worn it skiing and it is very comfortable and warm. It is longer than my other ski jackets. March 20, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great ski jacket I am 5'2" 115 lbs and usually wear a S in Columbia, occasionally XS. I purchased this jacket in size S for skiing and snowshoeing in Utah, and it fits perfectly. The full jacket fits just right over the tight fitting layers I wear for winter sports. I can see how it might be a little tight over bulkier everyday winter wear like thick sweaters and hoodies, but I haven't tried to wear it with any of those clothes. I have long arms, so I love the long sleeves - sometimes it is hard to find tops in my size that come all the way down over my wrists, so this jacket was a great find. The velcro cuffs are also great for tightening the sleeves so that long gloves can come over the outside. No more cold wrists for me! I have only done spring skiing in the shell so far (plus or minus 32 degrees). The shell has a great range of movement and has proven to be very waterproof in wet, heavy snowfall - it even dried off quickly afterwards! I like that the armpit vents are mesh instead of just open. I am sure the liner will give me the extra warmth I need for the really cold days next year. I purchased this jacket in purple plaid - the purple of the shell was a little brighter than the picture online suggested, and the plaid was a little more subdued. Very pretty, but not exactly as pictured. The liner is the same deep plum as in the picture. The feminine cut is flattering, and the jacket is about as long as it can be without needing a bottom zipper to free up leg movement. A bottom zipper would have made the coat even better, but it is fine without it. The removable hood was a selling point for me - I don't like wearing hoods for winter sport activities because they reduce visibility and hearing and can fill up with snow if they're not pulled up. I removed the hood immediately upon receiving the jacket, and I love how high the collar comes up when it is turned up. I highly recommend this jacket for snow sports! March 14, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wow I'm impressed! I love this jacket.....it is really 3 jackets because the liner is so perfect for a spring ski day. The detail and the quality of the zippers and all the "extras" really have impressed me. Good job Columbia!! Plus the color is FABULOUS!! March 14, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by great coat just love this coat, i have 3 coats in one. couldnt ask for more. great color ( blue ) March 13, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great buy I love this coat. The two pieces zip apart and back together easily. It kept me warm on the coldest days of our Iowa winter. Then, as the temp went up, the inside piece was comfortable and stylish enough to wear alone. I ordered the small/ petite as I am only 5'2" tall. It fits like a glove. The only con is that the sleeves are a bit long, but that is expected. Or I have freakishly short arms. Love it! March 11, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Whirlibird™ Interchange Jacket My daughter loved the jacket and can't wait to go skiing so she can use it. Great price as we were able to purchase two jackets for the price of one. March 3, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Raincoat for mild temps only I bought this specifically to use the interchange feature because I needed a winter coat for commuting in the Pacific NW weather. The outer raincoat is great and is waterproof. But the inner jacket is not warm and lacks zippered hand pockets which makes it totally useless for me to wear a lone.. The description says for active use but when zippered all the way, the neck area is so stiff it's like a brace and reduces mobility.. I'm 5'1" 104lbs and opted for SMALL to layer if needed. The X-SMAL fit snugly but the sleeves were way too long in both sizes. I need a bright color to be seen. Ruby Red was the best choice since yellow February 22, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Too Small It is a really nice coat, I ordered the XL and found that the arms were too long and the jacket itself was to tight. I am usually a size 8 but like my jackets large. February 19, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Don't size up - big mistake I ordered the Ruby Red in a size large after reading the reviews saying it ran small. When it arrived and I tried it on, it was WAY too big, even with layers on underneath it. I tried it on over just a fleece and my Patagonia Nano Puff and there was still a couple inches. I tried to repurchase in a Medium but it's now sold out. The jacket is fantastic otherwise. I ordered a different color in M and will be using it to snowboard next weekend. I'm 5'9" and 160 lbs, wear 8/10. February 18, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very warm I love the layers because I can keep it in my car and break it down or build it up depending on the ever changing weather. I bought a bigger size so I could layer and not feel like a stuffed sausage. February 13, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by loved the jacket....arms too small. I am 5ft5in 130lbs. I returned the medium sized jacket. I was love with this jacket!! The body fit nicely, but the arms of the jacket was way too small, especially in the elbows. it was not a jacket you could layer. Im sure it will fit somebody, their sizing is a bit off. I am normally a size small. February 13, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by This jacket has great features Wasn't sure about the size. I saw were others had said it fit a little large, but still wasn't sure. I bought an XL, probably could've gotten away with a L, but overall a good fit. This jacket will definitely keep me warm. February 7, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product I bought this coat to wear while I'm at college and have to walk decent distances in all kinds of weather. So far I've worn this coat in pretty cold and windy weather and I love it. It blocks the wind and keeps me warm once I start moving to activate the OmniHeat. The jacket is a little big on me but it doesn't look bad. I'm 120 lbs 5'3 and bought a size small in black. The black is even prettier in person. February 6, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Odd Fit The quality of the jacket was really nice and I loved the way the inner layer fit, but the outer layer was REALLY narrow around my hips (and I'm not a curvy person)! I'm 5'2' aprox 125lbs, ordered the XS. The fit in the arms was plenty spacious, the body fit perfect, but it was too snug at the bottom - I couldn't walk or sit w/out it bunching or being uncomfortably tight. It's almost like it wasn't made to fit a female! If there was a 2-way zipper I could make it work, but unfortunately I'll have to return it. February 3, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by We'll worth the price I love the color, the fit and the warmth. In fact I have learned not to wear it if I know it will be warmer than cold! I suppose it does run a tad small, but hard to tell since I usually order a large in jackets to accommodate winter clothes so it was fine for me, although normally a medium. Versatility nice too, actually 3jackets in one. Thanks January 27, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Super warm and practical! I'm 5'9" and weigh 135lbs. I bought this coat in a size small and it fits perfect! The sleeve length and torso are perfect lengths for me (I have a long torso)! I bought this coat in black crossdye and it is more eye appealing than a regular black coat. I spend a lot of time outside and the liner with omni-heat is perfect for the cold days when I'm out in the woods. Love this coat! January 22, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by my new favorite coat! i love this coat! the sleeves are a bit long, but i like it that way. im usually a med, but i have a large bust- 34DDD- and this coat fits great. i ordered a large based on other reviews and the fact that i want to be able to layer under it. i keep full range in motion, i dont feel top heavy, and i can layer and still have room in it. i credit all of this to the "feminine cut" it has. its super warm too! i spend a lot of time outside in the winter and this is the coat ive been looking for, ive never been so warm in a coat! January 21, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Just what i was looking for I bought this jacket for my girlfriend for Christmas. We had seen it in the Columbia store, so she had tried it on. I ordered on line. Like most have said, they do run a bit small, but the MED fit her perfect. (It was easy after she had tried it on) It was the perfect gift. She has worn it 3 times skiing. The extra length in the back helps to cover on the chair lift. The arms are perfect length for driving and reaching out to ski. So far she has liked the function of the jacket. Keeps her warm for sure. Zippers are good quality also. She has only used it as the complete system and has yet to wear just the shell or inner jacket, but I can see no problem with that down the road. I would recommend this jacket. So far so good in the MN winter January 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by All the warmth, none of the bulk I love love love that this isn't bulky! I loved my old Columbia coat, but it was bulky. The color is pretty and feminine. I like that I have 3 coats in one. I can wear my layers under this coat and don't feel like the staypuff marshmallow woman. This is super warm. Would recommend. January 8, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Waterproof? For how long? I've owned this jacket for 3 years in a dry, cold climate. It functions well. It's comfortable and has kept me warm on many a snowy walk. However, we recently moved to a wet climate and I've found that my "waterproof" jacket is decidedly not waterproof. An hour walk in a light drizzle had me soaked. How long is the guarantee of waterproofing supposed to last? Also my upper front pocket zipper has started separating from the material. It's really a shame that I'm now looking for a new jacket as up to now this one has been great. January 2, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Versatile & Durable Being from Texas, Oregon presented quite the dilemma during the cold, windy, rainy winter months. A friend recommended a 3-in-1 so I did my homework, landed on this jacket and haven't regretted it. It doesn't make me look or feel like a whale; it's very comfortable and cozy. I love it. I'm buying a second so I'll have options. Thanks Columbia! December 26, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by AWESOME JACKET I just got my jacket and I love it. It is very warm and fit good. Good thing I saw that it runs small so I had to get a larger size. I was getting prepared for the snow and now we are not getting any for xmas this year. I was bummed out. December 18, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by I love this coat This is by far the best coat I've ever bought. December 13, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Not A True Red! But Great Otherwise! I ordered this in Ruby Red, but it's definitely more of a watermelon color, almost a pinkish red. Other than that it's everything I love about the 3 in 1 Columbia coats. It does run a touch small. I'm usually a large, but the XL is perfect, especially when I typically wear a hoodie under my winter coat. December 9, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Coat I absolutely love this coat! It is super warm and not puffy at all! No regrets buying this product whatsoever!!! December 5, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love it! By far the best coat I've ever owned! November 26, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by macaw and labor blue are both bright I order two jackets for my families and they both enjoy the items. The labor blue looks more neat, while the macaw blue is easier to keep it clean. The jackets are comfortable for everyday purpose even if they are not big fans of outdoor advfentures :) October 3, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excited to wear I haven't been able to wear this in the winter yet, but I'm excited to try it out. I wore it around the house and it left me feeling very warm and comfortable. The quality is excellent and the colors are vibrant! I'm only giving it a four for function until I actually get to experience it in the worst of our MN weather. I purchased this with the intent of having to walk around campus so I'm optimistic that the functional hood and layers, will provide more then enough warmth and protection from our brutal winters. I purchased a large since many said that it runs a little small. I normally wear Medium shirts. The large is perfect, leaving enough room for a hoodie without feeling constricted. The jacket still allows some curves so you don't look completely boxy. September 17, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Runs Small Based on the size chart this should have fit but it was tight and very bulky. September 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Beautiful jacket! I am loving my jacket! I am 5'9" and 160lbs and the size M fits me perfectly! If I take the inner part out then the jacket fits a bit loos but not big. Sleeves are long enough for my long arms. I will be using it for skiing but also for hiking (without the inner part) Beautiful jacket , great quality. Long enough to cover lover back! I will be all cozy on the hills this coming winter. I purchased this jacket in size M and the "blue maccaw" color to combine with my Columbia Veloca Vixen pants in white color. A beautiful combination!! Both items are super comfy and warm!!! August 31, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Interchange It is an excellent product, I loved it May 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great coat I love this coat ~ I wear some piece of it nearly everyday. Have owned in since 2011 ~ Great for winter through it can be bulky if you wear a sweat shirt under it. The inner liner is great in cooler weather or rain... LOVE IT March 28, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great jacket! I have owned a Columbia jacket for the 20+ years. This new omnitech heat really cuts down on the bulk of the jacket without losing the warmth needed for sub zero temperatures. I measured myself using the sizing guide provided by Columbia and the fit is PERFECT!! Wore the jacket skiing and never once felt cold. LOVE this jacket. One request...can you put the thumb-hole on the sleeve of the inside liner?? Thanks! March 25, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great for me I cannot attest to it's waterproof-ness, in like major rains. But i was out in the snow in it and never had a problem. It kept me very warm and I really like the inner jacket just on it's own for cool days. I like how big the hood is because even with my hair in a ponytail it covered my whole head, and my ponytail didn't push it back. Though I know I could 'fit' a medium, I got a large because I like to wear layers, I have a larger chest size and being pregnant I knew my tummy would only get bigger this winter. The size fits good and didn't feel too big. At this point I can still zip it up and I think one layer will be a good spring coat around here as the weather is unpredictable. March 14, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Wears out easily in the cuffs This is the perfect coat it keeps me warm and dry. Very disappointed that the cuffs and the bottoms of the sleeves wore out. I didn't expect to pay this much money to be able to wear it for only one winter. Decided I'm going back to my coat(another brand) that I have had for 10 years and has held up. March 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by great jacket! My daughter loved the jacket. She is in college and does most of the walking around campus. She loved it because it's rain proof and warm. February 26, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by NOT WATERPROOF I live and work in coastal AL as a marine scientist and purchased the women's whirlibird jacket, this Christmas, both for its warmth and its waterproof claim. I got caught out in the rain a couple days ago (temperature was ~58oF) and after about 30-45 minutes of hiking through the rain I was soaked clear through to my underwear (I was also wearing a pair of men's rebel roamer rain pants, brand new first time worn) top and bottom. Imagine my disappointment, and it was still another 45 minutes (in the rain) back to the truck. As a winter/warm jacket I love this jacket, I'm 5'9 and 170 lbs and the medium fits me great, the sleeves/torso are long enough, the hood keeps rain and wind off my face. It's comfortable and until I got caught in a rainstorm this past weekend I had no complaints about it but it's suppose to be waterproof (even says so on the sleeve) and it very much was not. February 25, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Winter Coat!!!! I got this coat a during the big freeze (-19F) that is gripping half of the country and I LOVE it! Perfect time to test it. I have been outside shoveling, skiing and just walking my dog. I can't get over how this coat keeps the heat in without sweating. Even in below temps! I love the option of the vents near in the arm pit area for any skiing activity and being able to take the liner out (whenever it gets warm again). Its not a heavy nor bulky coat. I love the zipper pockets inside and outside to keep your electronics/valuables safe and dry. Overall great coat! I've been looking for a long time. Worth the buy! February 20, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awsome Jacket! It's really warm and definitely waterproof. Best jacket ever. My height is 5 7" and my weight is 121 pounds. I decided to go for M size and it was perfect! There is room for other sweater. February 11, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great winter coat I bought this coat because I needed a coat that will keep me warm in these Wyoming winters and still look classy. I am super happy with it! I am the type of person who freezes just by getting in a car that hasn't yet warmed up. The Whirlibird Interchange has done its job and then some! I am now warm whenever I'm wearing it. I usually layer, but with this coat I don't need to! Best purchase I've made in a while! February 7, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Buy! I love it! Light weight coat, easy to move around in and durable. I'm very happy with my purchase. February 6, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by new winter coat Looks and feels great! This is my second columbia coat and it's so warm. The inside layer is great for spring and fall too! February 4, 2015
