Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great coat(s) I got this coat on sale and it was well worth the value. Especially since it's like you're getting three coats. The only thing I wish was different is that I would like the Omni-heat reflective liner coat to have zippered pockets so my phone feels more secure when I wear it without the outer part of the coat. But there is a large mesh pocket on the inner right side, so I can either put my phone there or in the inner left chest zippered pocket. Overall, this is a great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great versatile jacket! Purchased for 14 year old daughter for skiing. 2 jackets in 1 works out great for all kinds of weather and sports.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket I love the quality but runs small . I am a large size and ordered and XL and fits small.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needs better pockets This jacket looks nice and is comfortable and warm. I mainly chose it because the liner zips out and the shell has good venting for spring skiing conditions. The only problem is without the liner, there are just the two outside pockets so there isn't really a good place to store your money, keys or phone when skiing. There is also no place to attach a ski pass on the jacket with or without the liner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very nice ski jecket I bought the black one for skiing. After wearing it for one week, I found that was what I want.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love It! I bought the white coat and not only is the coat functional and stylish. I have received so many comments.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this coat I love this coat. It is so functional in all weather conditions. Took this on a Alaska cruise and used the liner separate along with the outer jacket as a rain jacket. Making it multipurpose without having to pack two jackets. It is such a warm jacket since I tend to run on the cold side but this jacket does the trick in keeping me warm. I love the Columbia brand and they do stand behind the product. I have long arms so had to step up to a larger size but that works for using bulky sweaters too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Women Interchange jacket The interchange jacket is just beautiful. The negative about this jacket that it runs small in size. I bought a XL and it was smaller than I thought.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOMEN’S WHIRLIBIRD™ INTERCHANGE JACKET This is a great jacket, essentially 3 jackets in one, since you have a liner and a shell. Gives you plenty of options depending on the weather or activity you are doing. Built well, nice and warm, keeps you dry. Great form and function.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it, highly recommend for the tall girl I am 5'10'' and have a hard time finding winter coats to fit my long arms. I went to the Columbia employee store in Portland and tried on almost every winter coat they had and this one fit me the best in arm length and was still a flattering shape around the waste (its a little big around the waste still because i had to get an XL but its still the best fit i have had for a winter coat in a long time). I purchased it in the plum floral and i get compliments on it everyday i wear it. I even had a co-worker ask to try it on because she wanted to order one. It keeps me warm when it snows and dry in the rain. I bought the matching snow pants and gloves and love them all. The only thing i wish was different is i miss the soft plush fleece they used to put on the inside of their coats. The silver dots are ok but i miss the softer fleece inside.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I stay warm! To be fair, I haven't been able to give this coat a solid test yet to really cold conditions since it's been pretty mild over the last month. However, the days it did dip into the 20s, I stayed pretty warm! Like all of Columbia's technologies, I love the omni-heat. I am 5'4", 125lbs, without much curves, and get cold very easily. I ordered medium, intentionally knowing it would be a little big. I often wear layers or hoodies and wanted the bigger coat so I'd have more freedom of movement. One minor issue - I ordered the black geo, but the pattern looks closer to navy than grayish like the photo. I was a little disappointed in that. Suggestion - I think a windbreaking technology should be a necessity in ALL winter coats. That is after all what really makes you cold. This coat may be warm on a windless or light breeze day, but that wind cuts right through it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible jacket at an incredible price I love the 3 in 1 jackets. Ive always had a bugaboo, but the one I ordered for my daughter a couple years ago waterproofing failed. I wanted to get her another 3 in 1 with the polar fleece lining, but she saw the colors on this one and loved it. I loved that she loved the colors, because normally she only wears a black jacket. I was a little hesitant to get this one as it did not have the inner fleece, but i was longer to come down over her bum... a great feature to have for skiing. After it arrived, I love it! The light weight, kind of thin, but insulated liner is awesome and is actually a better option for those spring ski days that start out at 20 degrees at 8 am, and by 11:00am it warms up to 45-50. Sometimes the shell can still be too warm because of the Gortex that even cuts the wind. This inner lining is just thinly insulated nylon that she says she can just feel a hint of cool air being pulled thru the jacket, and its great to have this liner vs. polar fleece if you do take a fall as the polar fleece tends to attract the snow. With the Nylon it just brushes off. I went ahead and sprayed some water repellent on it to help keep it dry from water that might be on a lift, or blowing powder hitting it too much and creating damp spots. It is true to sizing and the feminine cut makes it very flattering. My daughter is an VERY ATHLETIC Gymnast and a size 10 15 yo. Finding clothing to fit her muscular arms and shoulders is a struggle. Normally I would have ordered a large, but opted for the xl to make sure shoulders and arms had room...and allow for another inch or two of growth. The arms and shoulders fit great, and around the waist is a little big, but not overly. A large would have been perfect for the waist, but not sure about shoulders and arms. I am a 14/16 and put on her jacket and if fit me great. I DO WISH it had another inner pocket of two and maybe a small side or front zip pocket on the shell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product! Bought this jacket for my very fashion-conscious 15-year-old daughter and she loves it! She wants to look good, I want her to be protected from the elements, finally found a jacket that works for both of us! Omni-heat technology is amazing. Not bulky, and super warm. Definitely cutting-edge in temperature regulating technology. My daughter has worn this jacket in all 3-in-one configurations and it performs every time. Tested in cold down to -10, wind, and rain...this thing works! Great job Columbia!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Wanted To Love This Jacket I am very pleased with this jacket overall except for the hood which is such a critical aspect of this jacket for me since it is worn in inclimate weather so often. the hood is simply too short and doesn't cover your face without slipping down even with the cinch cords. I wish that Columbia could change this and send us a newer version to attach to our jackets then this jacket would be fantastic.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Love the color, not the fit I was trying to replace my previously used parka of a few years, also a Columbia, in a medium. So I ordered a small in this and it just doesn't... fit right. It's too snug and as a small woman with a big bust, I felt like it was really unflattering. I'm 5' 2", 130 lbs. It wasn't very form fitting and it feels very bulky. I'll be sending it back and staying on the lookout for a ski parka that has fun colors/prints, a liner, and is feminine in fit. Disappointing because I wanted to wear it in all it's pink glory at the Women's March tomorrow.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fit review only For references I'm 5'3" 103 lbs, 33/27/36 usually wear a S, occasionally... XS. It looked big, so I tried on the White Geo Print in XS, and it's more like a S! Sort of a big S at that... If you know what I mean?! This jacket is definitely not an active fit, for I own other Columbia wear. The size and fit chart for this coat is NOT correct. The chest part was 35+ inches, which does not correlate to an XS on their size chart. I had one thin plus one very thick bulky sweater on while wearing this coat over, and I still had extra room within the coat. I have to assume it's to wear over other coats while skiing? So if that's not how you intend to wear it, then just know it's not very flattering to wear as is. It's shape is straight and a bit boxy, does not really pinch in at the waist. Arms are a tad long, and the coat is a bit stiff and noisy. I do like how it's the interchangeable type. There's functionality and many adjustable options. The coat itself seemed of good material, but I have not owned it to test out it's waterproof abilities, after wash, durability, or longevity. It has omni heat tech, which I love, but don't expect it to be warm instantly (you have to produce heat first for it to reflect back). Oh, and I'm not too crazy about any of the prints on the coats. It's too loud, and just looks better online than in person. Go plain or chevron if must. And definitely size 1 size down. Hope this helps.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor product from a great company I bought this coat to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro as I had trusted Columbia products with Omni-heat and Omni-tech waterproof fabric. Sadly, the coat did not withstand six days on the mountain. The fabric was definitely not waterproof. Within hours of hiking through mild snow, the coat was completely saturated through both layers and weighed about twenty pounds. The zippers were bulky and stuck half of the time. Disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it Received my Columbia WOMEN’S WHIRLIBIRD™ INTERCHANGE JACKET (BRIGHT PLUM FLORAL PRINT) in the mail yesterday, this only a few days after ordering it online. Very pleased. The outside colours are darker than expected (on the pic they seem brighter) which was great cause I had second thoughts about it being too busy.... I am 5`9 and normally wear 2XL and bought the XXL and it fits perfect. Can`t wait to go skiing now!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Major Bummer Really liked the appearance of this jacket but the fit wasn't good at all. Like others have noted, the sleeves were excessively long, the jacket was bulky and stiff, the collar was way too tall, and it was very rectangular-not the slightest bit flattering. Sending it back. Whatever happened to the Columbia's of the past? I still have the one I bought in high school and I'm 40!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheaply made I ordered this jacket online because of the great reviews, but was disappointed when I received it. The materials that it is made of seemed very cheap, especially the zipper. I was not confident that this jacket would last me for the next 5 years like my last Columbia jacket did. The jacket did not appear to be as warm as the other jacket that I ordered as well. It was not as thick and also ran extremely small. I ordered a large (I'm 5'4", 150lbs) and I could not wear a sweatshirt underneath this jacket. It was slim fitting even with a t-shirt on. Living in the cold, snowy state of Minnesota, I need a jacket that's going to give me the opportunity to dress with multiple layers as well as last me for many cold seasons to come. I returned this coat and opted for the Women’s In Bounds 650 TurboDown™ Interchange Jacket. It was $75 more, but well worth the extra money for the durability and warmth.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not nearly warm enough for Minnesota! Will be returning I live in the frozen tundra that is Minnesota, it's currently 10 degrees here. Researched warm coats for hours before deciding to get the whirlibird. Horribly disappointed. This jacket is very thin for a winter coat, would be okay for fall but definitely not a Midwest winter. I'm 5'1, 115 lbs, got a medium which was a little tight in the shoulders. Will be returning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Women's Whirlibird Interchange Jacket I love my new Whirlibird Jacket. Seems to run true to size. I love the comfort and quality of this Columbia Jacket. The only thing that could make this Jacket better would be longer sleeves. I am a tall girl so a little extra sleeve length would make this the perfect coat. Offering tall women's coat would be nice too, hint, hint, Columbia......

Rated 4 out of 5 by from MotherofThree I've worn this jacket a few times and continue to receive compliments. It's a very nice, warm and versatile jacket. My only complaint is that it's too snug! I usually wear a size Large and even though I ordered a size Large (12/14) it is too snug. I am not able to wear more than a t-shirt if I want to wear this jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it so far!!! I was a little concerned that the black crossdye was going to be really dark, but I love the color in person. Love the feminine cut of the whirlibird winter jacket. I'm normally a M/L, but had a Columbia XL coat in the past, ordered an XL so I'd have room to move.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from disappointed I got this coat to replace this same style that I had bought a couple years ago. What a disappointment. The quality is downgraded. the inner sleeves no longer extend with a thumb hole to tuck inside of mittens. There is also no longer a flap on the outside of the jacket to cover the zipper
Date published: 2016-10-27
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not what I was hoping for I needed a coat for snowshoeing in the Colorado Rockies this winter. I thought this would work, but the material was a little stiff and the zipper was sticky. I ordered both a xs and s based on other reviews. I'm a very petite woman, and the xs was the perfect length in the arms but too tight in the chest. The s was too big in the arms but good in the chest. The collar was also too high. When I zipped it all the way up on both sizes, the zipper went higher than the tip of my nose, almost to my cheek bones. I've got a coat with a similar collar from somewhere else and my neck gets strained trying to keep my nose above the zipper to breathe. I ordered the black geo print and was a little disappointed the print in the jacket isn't as prominent as in the picture. I'll be returning for something else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Always Great Value Love this new ski jacket. True to Columbia's excellent function and value for the price. Fourth Columbia jacket I've owned and am certain I will use it for more than just skiing as it is a 3 n 1 jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Haven't used yet (because it's summer), but fits great After researching a lot of different jackets and reading a lot of reviews I settled on this jacket. I'm going to live in Norway for 9 months and needed a jacket that would work for all weather. Although I haven't used it yet, I'm from the North and it certainly feels like it will be perfect for negative temps. I was afraid the fit would be weird but both the shell and the inner jacket fit perfectly! I am oddly shaped 5'8" 220lbs with an apple shaped body and it is very flattering and I love how long it is (I have a longer torso so this is super important to me). Also, I purchased the Black crossdye and it's not a dark black, it's more of a dark grey with the pattern very subtle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent I bought this for snowboarding and I was really satisfied with it. I'm 5'3", 110lbs. XS is my normal size and it quite fits. I ordered it in Black Crossdye, and it looks stylish.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fine Coat Bought this jacket for my daughter in law. She needed a new heavy coat for her trips to Snow shoe Va. This should fit the bill and handle the Fl. weather also since its three in one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very warm! I bought this as a cross functional jacket - to play outside with my kids and wear on the snowmobile. I finally got to test it out this past weekend snowmobiling. It was -10 with wind. I thought for sure I would freeze. To my surprise, this Jacket came through. Very warm!! My only complaint is I wish the inner layer was longer but otherwise I love this jacket. I am 5'5", 150lbs. Medium is my normal size and it fits perfectly.
Date published: 2016-03-22
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the interchange function Jacket is not ideal for skiing. Not enough pockets and the inner jacket does not have zippered pockets. That said, I have worn it skiing and it is very comfortable and warm. It is longer than my other ski jackets.
Date published: 2016-03-20
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great ski jacket I am 5'2" 115 lbs and usually wear a S in Columbia, occasionally XS. I purchased this jacket in size S for skiing and snowshoeing in Utah, and it fits perfectly. The full jacket fits just right over the tight fitting layers I wear for winter sports. I can see how it might be a little tight over bulkier everyday winter wear like thick sweaters and hoodies, but I haven't tried to wear it with any of those clothes. I have long arms, so I love the long sleeves - sometimes it is hard to find tops in my size that come all the way down over my wrists, so this jacket was a great find. The velcro cuffs are also great for tightening the sleeves so that long gloves can come over the outside. No more cold wrists for me! I have only done spring skiing in the shell so far (plus or minus 32 degrees). The shell has a great range of movement and has proven to be very waterproof in wet, heavy snowfall - it even dried off quickly afterwards! I like that the armpit vents are mesh instead of just open. I am sure the liner will give me the extra warmth I need for the really cold days next year. I purchased this jacket in purple plaid - the purple of the shell was a little brighter than the picture online suggested, and the plaid was a little more subdued. Very pretty, but not exactly as pictured. The liner is the same deep plum as in the picture. The feminine cut is flattering, and the jacket is about as long as it can be without needing a bottom zipper to free up leg movement. A bottom zipper would have made the coat even better, but it is fine without it. The removable hood was a selling point for me - I don't like wearing hoods for winter sport activities because they reduce visibility and hearing and can fill up with snow if they're not pulled up. I removed the hood immediately upon receiving the jacket, and I love how high the collar comes up when it is turned up. I highly recommend this jacket for snow sports!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow I'm impressed! I love this jacket.....it is really 3 jackets because the liner is so perfect for a spring ski day. The detail and the quality of the zippers and all the "extras" really have impressed me. Good job Columbia!! Plus the color is FABULOUS!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great buy I love this coat. The two pieces zip apart and back together easily. It kept me warm on the coldest days of our Iowa winter. Then, as the temp went up, the inside piece was comfortable and stylish enough to wear alone. I ordered the small/ petite as I am only 5'2" tall. It fits like a glove. The only con is that the sleeves are a bit long, but that is expected. Or I have freakishly short arms. Love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Whirlibird™ Interchange Jacket My daughter loved the jacket and can't wait to go skiing so she can use it. Great price as we were able to purchase two jackets for the price of one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Raincoat for mild temps only I bought this specifically to use the interchange feature because I needed a winter coat for commuting in the Pacific NW weather. The outer raincoat is great and is waterproof. But the inner jacket is not warm and lacks zippered hand pockets which makes it totally useless for me to wear a lone.. The description says for active use but when zippered all the way, the neck area is so stiff it's like a brace and reduces mobility.. I'm 5'1" 104lbs and opted for SMALL to layer if needed. The X-SMAL fit snugly but the sleeves were way too long in both sizes. I need a bright color to be seen. Ruby Red was the best choice since yellow
Date published: 2016-02-22
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too Small It is a really nice coat, I ordered the XL and found that the arms were too long and the jacket itself was to tight. I am usually a size 8 but like my jackets large.
Date published: 2016-02-19
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Don't size up - big mistake I ordered the Ruby Red in a size large after reading the reviews saying it ran small. When it arrived and I tried it on, it was WAY too big, even with layers on underneath it. I tried it on over just a fleece and my Patagonia Nano Puff and there was still a couple inches. I tried to repurchase in a Medium but it's now sold out. The jacket is fantastic otherwise. I ordered a different color in M and will be using it to snowboard next weekend. I'm 5'9" and 160 lbs, wear 8/10.
Date published: 2016-02-18
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very warm I love the layers because I can keep it in my car and break it down or build it up depending on the ever changing weather. I bought a bigger size so I could layer and not feel like a stuffed sausage.
