Men’s Ascender™ Hooded Softshell Jacket - Tall is rated out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by BigMike68 from The Beat Down I've owned my ascender jacket for a year. I'm a big guy 6'8" 355. I'm super tough on clothes. I've had my jacket through mud, grime, dirt, clay, grease, gas, spray paint. I've washed it at lease 300 the times in cool water with enzyme laundry soap (Ecos) . The jacket itself still looks new. The only thing that has failed is the zipper. Best dang coat I've ever had. It outlasted my Carhartt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Brandon77 from very nice I also have non hooded version. Both are great for all but extreme cold. The large tall fits me perfect at 6'5" 190lbs. Sleeves are just right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Pokey000 from Ascender Jacket with Hood Bought 4xl Tall. Some might think it is to big for them in that size, but for me, excellent. I want room to move in, no tight shoulders when reaching. I love it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by KingPanda from Reasonable For The Price This will be my third columbia softshell over the last several years. My first was a 3XL-Regular, which fit well width-wise, but at 6'00" tall and about 350, I felt it was a little short on the length. Now, if I was that thick-bodied but had a flat stomach that didn't hang out a little bit, I think it would have been just fine. But.. I don't, so it wasn't. I needed a little more coverage on the bottom, so my next softshell was a 3XL-Tall. However, it did run a little small, but the length was much better. In fact, having it a tiny bit small is not a bad thing, as it fits comfortably snugly, at least on me. The previous softshells were not hooded, so now I've bought this third one at 4XL-Tall, thinking the extra room would be more comfortable. I'm kinda back and forth how I feel about that, as I do like the relaxed fit of the bigger size, however it feels just a bit billowy now. If I can get it to shrink a little bit in the wash I think it will be much better. This hooded softshell *feels* like the material is a little bit thinner than the others. We'll see how it holds up in the cooler weather versus the others. As far as function, I very much like the velcro wrists, but the hood is a little annoying at times. Because the storm flap is integrated into the hood itself (and not a hood attached to the back of the collar), it's difficult to get it to lay down comfortably when the jacket is zipped up about 90%, which is where I personally prefer it. Being in the middle of summer, I have not been able to test the hood to say whether this design is better than any other. In the end, these jackets are perfectly fine for light duty and casual wear. The ones I bought previously have lasted for years and are still holding up very well with everyday casual use. I personally wouldn't pay full-price for them, but when they're on a good sale the value gets much better. :-)
