WINTER TRACTION
The Michelin tread on the sole gives this boot superior traction on ice. Michelins ice gripping technology they put in their tires is now on the sole of this boot! Awesome!

Not Lasted On Older Bugaboot Models
I have worn a pair of Bugaboots for at least the last 6 or 7 years. They have held up well, but were showing their age. Thought it was time for an upgrade. I ordered the exact same size as my original pair . . . big mistake. These babies are lasted on an extremely narrow foot. I'm not even sure a wide in the same size would fit. So if you own an old pair, and seeking to replace them, buy wide and possibly size up. These are being returned and I'll try to nurse another season out of my old pair. I recommend if you have a very skinny foot or size up . . . I don't recommend purchasing without fitting them in an REI store first.

cant wait to put them to the test
Just received the boots as part of the warranty program on a pair i had before. the fit and comfort are spot on. only wish it were winter still to put them to the test. I have complete faith that once in the elements, the boots will be a total success! So glad i followed up , and thankful to the warranty department for all there help and understanding.

If you want boots that last, DO NOT buy these
My husband and I both purchased these boots. The first winter we wore them, they were fantastic. We pulled them out of the box to wear this winter and they were cracked and falling apart . Of course, they are no longer under warranty. I would definitely NOT recommend these boots to anyone unless you plan on wasting your money each year.

Replaced a pair of Old Friends - Excellent choice!
I received a new pair of Bugaboot Plus IV Omni-Heat size 14 3 weeks ago, and they are excellent winter boots. Read below to see what they replaced and how sad I was to see the old boots go. That said, I like them almost as well as the old Icefields. They fit well, they are very warm and they fit my snowshoe bindings well. The Michelin soles perform as advertised, especially in cold weather (-20C and below). I do have one small gripe: the lacing system is not as speedy or efficient as the "speed lacing" in the Icefields. It takes a little more finesse to get them just right on the foot, which is key for snowshoeing. Other than that, I am totally happy with my purchase. In fact, I ordered a pair of the higher XTM versions the next week. Where I live, you can never have too many pairs of winter boots!
Here's "the rest of the story" for you: you see, my old faithful Titanium Icefield boots had to be replaced. I bought them in Ottawa in 2004 and they were the BEST winter boots I have owned in 62 years. I served 34 years in the Canadian Army (Airborne) so I was very specific about "good kit" and these boots were a damned good piece of kit. I wore them all over North America and never ever were my feet cold. I wore them up Pike's Peak, Mount Washington and several others. They fit my snowshoe harnesses perfectly, flexed when my feet did, and were just generally superb. The left boot failed in late January, on another snowshoe trip, and I have to tell you that I never even noticed until my wife pointed it out. The upper separated completely from the rubber body of the boot, exposing the insulation. but my feet never even got a shred of cold while on the trail. When I got home and examined the damage, I could see that it was terminal. New boots required and ordered. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Has limitations
These boots will not keep your feet dry if water or snow gets to the bottom of the tounge of the boot. Otherwise their great and have excellent traction in winter conditions. I would not recommend if your walking in accumulations if softer snow. Will be returning due to this reason.

well received my boots very quick on line never tried them anywhere / i find them light , comfortable, look good , breathable is good but i wear 100 % cotton or diabetic socks that help the foundation of your body / i enjoy being outdoors and walk many miles / these boots seem to be breaking in well i like that hopefully i will get many years out of these boots / i own many out doors boots for work and i love to be dry comfortable and safe / columbia keep up your good work and make quality control is at 100 % plus / Waiting on my next purchase Thanks (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

NOT FOR HIKING!!!!
WARNING: This is not a proper hiking boot! It lacks proper inner support and as such the toe bends up very easily and causes pain on the top of your foot. This boot was returned by me as soon as I put them on and tested them in my house. A boot flexes this easily is not for hiking in the winter or summer. But winter would be the worst, as it will not support crampons or snow shoes. BEEN THERE DONE THAT with other boots similar to this. I was just coming this would be more rigid.

It is an excellent shoes for extremely cold condition. The fit is true to its size. Very confortable cushioning that maintains the warmth even at the rashest conditions. The materials are of top caliber. The traction is very good and it gives strong grip even in icy conditions. Highly recommended shoes for below freezing climate.

My Boyfriend Really loves these
My bf has large feet and it’s really hard to find shoes or boots that fit. I’m glad Columbia carries these in Wide as well. They stay warm in fridged Minneapolis winters, without making his feet sweat. He’s a daily bike commuter and these have great traction too for walking with the dog.

Really Comfortable Boots!
I have never been able to find a pair of boots that were comfortable until I bought these! These boots really conform to my feet just right! I can actually break into a full speed run without them buckling sideways or cramping my toes.I can't wait to try them in the snow.
They look very very nice and are obviously made of quality materials! I really love them! I am glad I ordered them.
I have only one complaint. It's about the warmth factor. These are meant to keep your feet warm and dry. Which is fine. I suppose they do that. But, right above the foot, where the leg sort of begins, in the area near the laces, my LEGS are cold! I don't know if there's something I am doing wrong but it feels like my lower legs area are exposed to the cold. In normal shoes, this is not the case. This is my only gripe.

Poor stitching
The collar where it meets the tongue of the shoe is ripping at the seams on both shoes. White fabric is exposed. The material is obviously poor quality and stitching is sub standard.

A true winter ice & snow boot for wide feet!
I have men's size 7 EEE, which makes it difficult finding high quality boots that can handle the cold and wet conditions of winter. The new Bugaboo Plus IV Omni-Heat Boot-Wide is exactly what I've been looking for. I originally ordered size 7.5 thinking that the extra half size would give me additional needed width. After trying on the size 7.5, it was apparent that the better fit for me would be size 7. I returned the size 7.5 boots using the UPS return label, and I was promptly shipped my correct size. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.
