Rated 5 out of 5 by Aspren from Nice dressed up rain jacket This is a nice looking jacket for the rain, great for a casual yet professional work environment. The fit and styling are classic and so far, the rain proofing is working well. Pleased with the look, the styling, and the functionality and would recommend this jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by denny004 from Just what I was looking for This is a longer version of the type rain jacket I own, so its great for my office work clothes. It has more than enough pockets and the quality is excellent. My purchase will be this type jacket with a lining for the fall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 1992Bronco from Good replacement This is my 3rd rain coat from columbia. Good quality and weight for weather in the south eastern US during all seasons. Layering would be required in winter and cooler months. It would be hot in the summer but briefly protect from rain.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Halmahera from Breathability is key in rain wear On a strenuous hike you don't want your rain gear raining more inside than out. This jacket gives great circulation without bulk and is super for the downpours. Unless you are layering order a size down. I have used jackets at 3 times the price that barely compare to this one. Columbia rules!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Deese1234 from Nice jacket - perfect weight Bought this for an upcoming New England cruise vacation. Wanted something lightweight to pack but would protect from wind and rain. Only reason I rated it 4 stars is b/c husband has not had the chance to wear it yet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Mickal from Don't think made of ripstop nylon? Larger too... I had order a Men's Dr. Downpour Jacket XL. Sent it back due to wetting out on the shoulders & sleeves after using it for a little more than 60 days. When I received my replacement Men's Dr. Downpour Jacket II XL the first thing I notice when I put it on it felt much lighter and the inside was different design & it didn't have 2 pockets on the right-side at chest area, one smaller above the little bit larger one below but the zipper pocket on left side looked the same as prior version. The newer version has a bigger style pocket on the right, after using it some more I think I'll like the difference. I didn't like the construction of the inside that is totally different on the newer version. I looked closer at the fabric and to me it's not ripstop nylon as described paragraph below the photo of the rain jacket. I bought my first Men's Dr. Downpour Jacket because of the 3 inner pockets & the look of the design & craftsmenship of the interior & what I'm uses too as ripstop nylon. So I went online to find what's the difference between ( Made from 100% ripstop nylon,) & (Shell: Omni-Tech™ Plain Weave 2L 100% nylon, Lining: 100% nylon 210T taffeta) as described under (Fabric:) this is what I found: Ripstop fabrics are woven fabrics, often made of nylon, using a special reinforcing technique that makes them resistant to tearing and ripping. During weaving, (thick) reinforcement threads are interwoven at regular intervals in a crosshatch pattern. The intervals are typically 5 to 8 millimeters (0.2 to 0.3 in) and: Plain weave (also called tabby weave, linen weave or taffeta weave) is the most basic of three fundamental types of textile weaves (along with satin weave and twill). It is strong and hard-wearing, used for fashion and furnishing fabrics. In plain weave, the warp and weft are aligned so they form a simple criss-cross pattern. Each weft thread crosses the warp threads by going over one, then under the next, and so on. The next weft thread goes under the warp threads that its neighbor went over, and vice versa. Maybe I'm mistaken? The point is I bought the first version because of the style and too me the Men's Dr. Downpour II didn't have the photos of the inside like the first did so I assumed the it would be the same, which it's not. I'm not a hiker due to physical condition, so my use is for walking the dog in the rain & going around town on the bus too. It fits like a size XXL but I might like that when I have a fleece sweatshirt on? At first I wasn't happy with the replacement but I do like being able to roll the hood into the collar held with 3 snaps, I need to wear it some more to see if I like the new style.
