Men’s Evergreen™ Shell Jacket is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My 2nd Evergreen Shell Looks much like the first Evergreen shell I had. Well made and sturdy. Looks like it will be just as good as the first one. However, it appears I bought it a little too soon.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good and not so good I give this product two stars because it is a very light and stylish jacket that will help keep you warm and look good in the process. However, it only got two stars because the waterproof nature of the jacket was a miserable failure. I decided to break in this brand new jacket during a rainy hike on 2-18-17. For the first 30 minutes the jacket was great; I stayed very dry. After 30 minutes of continuous rain the jacket started to fail in sections. The arms and chest remained waterproof throughout the hike. The pockets and abdominal section of the jacket failed miserably. At the end of the hike, the bottom part of my jacket was soaked. If you are looking for good looking jacket that will keep you warm and dry for a short duration of light rain then I would recommend it. If you are relying on it for extended periods of wet conditions then look elsewhere. I will keep the jacket because I like it, but I won't use it for anything where it might get wet and stay wet for a while.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ray, Missoula MT I alpine ski using a shell and use layers to adjust to conditions. My average shell size is a medium and the medium for the Evergreen shell provides enough room for that use. I like the durable fabric and the functional powder skirt. This shell kept me dry on wet snowy days and the pits zips work well when skinning back up the hill. However, I think an improvement to the shell would be a helmet compatible hood for those cold windy chairlift rides .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product very strong material, strong zipper. I got a medium and it ran long lengthwise and at the sleeves. also the pocket's material starts to pill after some time

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A more durable shell I bought the Evergreen essentially because it was more durable than other shells. It definitely has a stronger zipper which should last longer, and the material itself is thicker and overall feels more solid and durable. I live in Portland, OR and bought this jacket at the flagship store and have worn it on numerous nights in pouring rain. No rain penetrated the shell. It shielded me adequately against approximately 20mph winds. One of the strengths of this coat over older Columbia jackets I have had, is its performance against wind. Coupled with a fleece softshell underneath, I stayed warm down to 32 degrees F. They have improved the drawstring system and it is not as much a struggle to get the hood and waist tightened permanently down on this jacket. There are also nice perks like an inner breast pocket, an external breast pocket, and big stomach pockets, which are good if you have big hands. I am 6'5" 175, and I got the medium. I have very long arms, and the sleeves fit adequately, so expect the sleeves to run long. Overall it fits a little big, both in the sleeves and lengthwise. I recommend getting this shell over the others if you are looking for more durability. It will withstand more environmental pressures and is much less likely to rip. The zipper is also much stronger than other shells, and should endure more use. It is a tad more expensive than some others, but well worth it since the added durability probably saves you a year or two before you need to get another one. A very good jacket against rain and wind and recommended highly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Interchange Compatible I purchased this jacket while on a ski trip. It performed great as a shell but I bought it with the hopes of "interchanging" with other gear. It does have the interchange snaps in the sleeves and collar, and the extra inner zipper. On returning from my trip I ordered a Columbia Go To Jacket, which is also interchange compatible. However the zipper length is too short to reach the top of the Evergreen's collar (see picture). I called the customer support line and they first stated the Evergreen isn't interchange compatible. After getting them to look at this web page they talked with their manager and recanted their original statement, but they still couldn't give me a list of liner jackets that are known to work. Nor could they provide any indication why the zipper is too short... is the Evergreen Shell too long in the zipper, or the Go To jacket too short. So "interchange compatible" doesn't appear to be a claim that Columbia is willing to stand by. It is a shame, Columbia looks like a lot of bang for the buck. But I'll stick with other brands if this is the best Columbia can do with their product and customer service. Functionally an Excellent shell. Quality is Poor if "interchange" is a Columbia contract of compatibility across products.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Odd Fit I really wanted to like this jacket as Columbia does not have a large selection of Interchange shells with Omni-Heat. I tend to be in between medium and large for jackets. I ordered this in a large due to other reviews saying it runs small. Some parts fit fine while others seemed baggy. The main problem I found is this is not a very flattering jacket. Along with the bagginess of the sleeves and upper body, there is a curved seam along the top of the stomach that constantly "stuck-out" which, even if you are a fit individual, makes you appear to be a bit soggy around the mid-section. Otherwise, this jacket appeared to be well designed and constructed. My only other problem, which is more of a sidebar and completely determined by the liner used, is the one Interchange liner I own has no interior pockets. So, while both jackets separately boast 11 pockets total, when zipped together it brings the number down to 3. I just don't understand why Columbia would make an Interchange liner with zero interior pockets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Shell for all Conditions Including Rain Great jacket that breathes and is ideal for a wide variety of weather conditions. I'm adding a liner to make it warmer in order to accommodate cold northeast Ohio winters. I hope the Interchange System works as advertised. The liner should zip right into the shell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cold in Houston This coat is a perfect weight. The lining keeps you exceptionally warm, warmer than you would expect from such a light weight coat. Plenty of pockets and well made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatility at its finest Recently purchased this product online, and I must say it far exceeded my expectations. I was initially turned off by the omni heat but I have been proven wrong; there is no gimmick in this fabric technology. The length is nice, I've already tested it in a downpour and it handled wonderfully. Can't wait to zip my favorite Columbia down into the zip up interchange (but for everyone else, almost any zip up jacket will fit in there) and go play in the snow, and with the snow skirt I can make it happen. Fantastic product, Columbia!! I wear this jacket from the top of pitch 3 at consumnes river gorge to taking out the trash at night and I couldn't ask for a better made shell
