- 1. Neck: Measure at the base or thickest part of your neck.
- 2. Sleeves: Start at the center back of your neck and measure across the shoulder and down to the wrist. Round up to the next even number.
- 3. Chest/Bust: Measure at the fullest part of the chest, under the armpits and over the shoulder blades, keeping the tape measure firm and level.
- 4. Waist: Measure around the natural waistline, allowing the tape measure to sit comfortably.
- 5. Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips.

this product fits terrible
I first bought the size 35 waist it was to small, the crotch was to high for a comfortable fit.
I returned for a 36 waist, the crotch, and legs are the same bad fit, the waist is way to big. I will be returning these also and shopping someplace else

Great shorts
This is my second pair of these shorts and I am extremely please with them. They are just the right length for me, comfortable and my cell phone fits neatly in the "knife" pocket on the right side. The zippered security pocket is also good for wallet and keys when actively engage.

First time shorts buyer
Heavy duty material should result in long wear. I have a size 40 waste but this size 40 is a bit larger than expected. Hope it will shrink a bit after 1st wash.
Still a comfortable fit. Color was a bit darker than the picture but I like it darker.

Best shorts ever!
These have now become my favorite shorts. The shape, fit and stretch material are perfect. No more lost buttons since it uses a metal one like denim jeans. The zipper length is also long enough for less fussiness in the bathroom. Also like the fact that it doesn't wrinkle easily.

Great shorts
I bought these shorts for my 22 year old son in the "boulder" color. These are the reasons he loves these shorts and wants them in more colors (already ordered): deep front pockets, multi-stretch material for comfort and easy movement, wash really well, no wrinkles coming out of the dryer, zip-close hip pocket, 8" length is right on point for style. These are true to size. I highly recommend.

A good pair of shorts
I'm a 34 waist at 5' 9" & 167 lbs. and they fit perfectly. I haven't bought a pair of these in a number years as these were my go to summer work around the yard shorts and I had an ample supply. After finally wearing them all out I bought a couple of pair in the newer "stretch" fabric now offered and find that they will no longer be the go to's for yardwork as the stretch fabric is not as tough and robust as the older canvas fabric. It's okay though as the new style definitely has a place in the wardrobe .. more of a casual hang around or hiking short. I will order more!

Sized Small
I purchased 2 pair of the Flex Roc shorts in size 36, just like I had always bought the Ultimate Roc Short which I preferred, but can’t find anywhere including my local outlet store. The 36 Flex Roc Short is very small so sent them back. Why no more Ultimate Roc Shorts??? So I went next door to my old favorite Polo RL and they had my 36” 10 “ inseam chino short. Fit perfect and on sale. Bought 3 pair for $20 per short, 1/2 the price. Columbia better get their act together.

These shorts fit better than all the other Columbia shorts I own, and they fit well. Also very comfortable.
Seem softer than most. I really like these. These also are true gray. Others that I have, the gray has a green tinge to them. I am very happy with Columbia clothes.

Flex ROC shorts Review
I have purchased the Flex Roc Shorts multiple times, I feel these shorts are comfortable and wear well. They are durable and standup against any activity you may come a crossed.
They wear well weather hiking in the Colorado’s or Appalachian trails. I use them in the lake, hiking and kayaking the multiple pocket capabilities are endless. I strongly recommend this product.

Far too big
Not sure about those writing reviews, but I've bought five pair of the ROC Short. ALL have run very LARGE. As my photo shows, shorts reviewed are supposed to fit a 35 inch waist. As my tape measure shows they measure 18.5 inches across, times two equals 37 inches and that's on the conservative side. Two inches is a large margin to be off by. I think many reviewers might be unsure, or in denial, of their true waist size.

My favorite shorts
These shorts are awesome. They are flexible, but you don’t feel like you’re wearing spandex. They’re comfortable and move with you, so it’s a comfortable fit, not restrictive. Price point is good enough where you can use them for work and not feel like you’re ruining good shorts, while also being able to wear these out beyond strictly informal settings. They look good with a nice t shirt or polo, but can take a good beating at work

Excellent Every Day Shorts
I bought this shorts for the warmer months and have been wearing it more than I thought I would. Fit is less baggy than other shorts, which is great. I'm 6'3'' and weigh 215 lbs and size 36 fits me perfectly.

Purchased two: gray and tan. Smooth, clean lines make these shorts attractive, yet they are tough and flexible. I love the security zippered interior pocket for travel and security. The seams and belt loops are double sewn, yet subtle.

Favorite Shorts
These are my favorite shorts -- I have four pairs. The 8-inch inseam is perfect, not over the knee (which kind of defeats the purpose of shorts for me). The fabric is rugged enough for outdoor activities like hiking and camping, but nice enough to wear around town. The stretchy fabric make them super comfortable, but because of that, you might want to buy a size down. Highly recommended.

Flex Roc Shorts
These are my favorite shorts BY FAR! I have multiple pairs of these in different colors. Columbia is my absolute favorite apparel brand because of their competitive pricing and outstanding quality. The outdoor apparel industry seems too often to believe that their clothes are stitched with golden strands and their prices reflect that. Columbia has the best product for the price and it is apparent with these shorts. They allow for a full range of movement and are crazy comfortable. The utility of these shorts are also ridiculous, I can tell already that they will last me for years. I’m all the way on board the Columbia bus, as long as they keep putting out stellar products, I’ll keep supporting this brand, and their product. Great job at providing an excellent product.

These shorts are amazingly flexible even though I thought they were going to be above my knees, i dont like shorts being above my knees, but these are amazing. They fit!!
I have had a lot of trouble finding shorts for my husband that are practical, not overly "young" and--above all--fit. I love that you can order the different lengths because his legs apparently aren't as long as the average person so most shorts look way too long on him. And I like the colors.

Flex ROC Short
I've worn the regular ROC short for years and thought I would give the Flex ROC Short a try. They have a slightly slimmer cut than the traditional short but the sizing is still spot on. The Flex makes for a very comfortable fit. Have only worn them a few times but expect that they will hold up as good if not better than the traditional short.

Out of the bag, then right back in for return
I usually really love my Columbia shorts, but these were really really disappointing. I ordered a pair of "Pilot Peak" and a pair of "Flex ROC" simultaneously in the correct waist size and they came and were both too tight in the crotch and legs. I'm not a large guy, but these were cartoonishly tight. I could not comfortably wear either pair of shorts. The waist measurement was accurate for both, but both were absurdly tight; they almost felt like bicycle shorts. I'm not sure who wears their shorts this tight but I'm not that person.
