Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features A nice fitting jacket perfect for windy wintry days here in New Jersey. Light weight and comfortably warm. Ample pockets and hood.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from winter down jacket Perfect jacket for my husband. Keeps him warm and it's so light in weight, that he wears it all the time. Better than his old winter jacket that was so heavy, it was hurting his back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great mid-weight puffer This jacket is a great mid-weight puffer. The Omni-heat system is fantastic, the hood is spacious and it fits well. Warm at temps of 20F with only a t-shirt underneath.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product Only problem is the small unreliable zipper. Has been a problem since day one. It comes undone constantly. It's too small and unzips in the middle of the coat. Warm coat but not a good zipper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Staying worm I absolutely love this turbo down 650. I live in Chicago so it gets really cold but I feel so good with the Omni heat inside. I highly recommend this product for anyone looking to stay worm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lives up to it's reputation Excellent product. By far the warmest coat I have ever found. Worth every penny. Only gripe I have is that for $170 bucks they could have thrown in some gloves!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great utility Great utility coat, all around great performer, sheds water although I have not worn it in a heavy rain. Black color is sort of a blue black hue, but nice and a bit shiny. No problem in the cold, worn it mostly in the city for long dog walks in the dead of winter.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Jacket runs too large! The jacket seems and feels well made. The color red is nice and stylish. However, the jacket runs too large for my liking. I ordered a small and the fit was not as advertised. It was too long on my waist and long sleeves. Unfortunately, the tags were thrown away and I was forced to keep it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it At -70 I bought this for my partner who races in the Iditarod. I was surprised to see photos of him during the race at -65 and -70 with only this on and not his big parka. At the end of the race, he said this, layered with several other pieces of Columbia gear were all he needed out on the trail despite the extremely cold temperatures. I should say, that he is very active, fit and spends lots of time in the cold. We will certainly be buying this again and recommend it to any avid outdoorsman.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Bit Small I bought this for my husband, and he is 5"11 130 lbs. The sleeves were about 2 inches too short. Other than the size issue, I really liked the coat. I didn't want to get a medium, because then that would be just too big on him everywhere else.
Date published: 2015-03-05
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent winter jacket Very pleased with this jacket. It has proven to be the warmest, most comfortable jacket I have ever worn. It weighs almost nothing compared to all previous jackets I have owned. One problem, mentioned by other reviewers, is that there are only two jackets. In this day of cell phones and iPods, it is inexcusable to not have a third pocket.
Date published: 2015-03-05
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Coat I received the coat in about a weeks time. It's very light my son says he love's it and it's very warm. I will definitely purchase from here again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not too shabby I was very excited to get this jacket to keep the Chicago winter at bay- especially with the combination of Omni-heat and down insulation. (Turbodown) The size and fit are very good (true to size- I have a Med and I'm 5'11, 180 lbs) and I've received compliments on the look of the jacket. My only disappointment after a few weeks of use is that it does not have quite the amount of down I was expecting from 550 fill, and as such, does not create that "pocket" feel that you get from more substantial down jackets. Since it is only hooded with the Gold 650 or the Diamond 890 (Not the Platinum 860), you might want to take this into account when ordering.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Shiny This Jacket is just a little to shiny.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very Warm I recently bought this jacket, I use it daily. First off I am 6'2" I bought this jacket in a large but it was fitting me like an extra large(buy a size smaller). Also the feathers randomly come out of my jacket. Overall its keeps me very WARM

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Snug in OK Toasty warm on cold & windy days. Good length for activity yet keeps my butt warm. Love the red shell - keeps me visible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket This jacket is the warmest one I've ever owned. Despite being very light and soft it keeps you warm and comfortable as advertised. Great Jacket Columbia

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Turbo Gold 650 I ordered on line and the jacket arrived just as the Boston area was experiencing temps in the single digits. Jacket proved to be very warm even without a sweatshirt or vest underneath. This jacket is lightweight, comfortable and warm. What more can you ask for?
Date published: 2015-01-22
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent product Great for warmth! Had to get a medium for my fiancé (and he usually wears a large). The only thing keeping it from five stars is the fact that the down feathers periodically come out through the fabric of the jacket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hope i don't run out of down! Had a chance to wear this on a trip to Germany, Austria and Switzerland recently. Temperature started at 10 CELSIUS (50F) to -6 C (20F). It was a bit too warm at 50F, but keeping it open did help. At 20F it kept me quite warm...snowing conditions, at 2000 meters up on Mt. Rigi. Loved the water repellent feature too for light rain conditions. Just did not like the down coming out in some places...hope this jacket lasts and i don't end up having a goose in the house!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Material stains Having the same problem as other reviewer. The jacket is functionally great but extremely prone to stains. Im not even sure what the stains are from. Looks like a grease stain. During normal use I find a new stain on a daily basis. Have washed the jacket several times and the stains are very difficult to remove. I dont know if its just the graphite color that has this issue or the material itself. Have had many columbia jackets in the past. This is actually my favorite one but cannot recommend based on stain prone material

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ottawa weather -September 2014 I purchased this jacket I can't believe how warm it keeps me even in -15. Great job people of Columbia jacket. Omni heat really works I love this jacket

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My son's favorite I brought this coat in a small for my 12 year old son who is 5'6 and 125 lbs. He loves it so much he refuses to wear anything else. He says it's really warm which we needed living in Chicago. He looks really good in it as well.
Date published: 2014-12-07
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Warm I was dubious, since the jacket seemed light in weight. But I soon found out that thickness doesn't matter. It kept me warm on a cold and windy day.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Like the jacket. It only has 2 pockets, so I won't use it on the mountain. Just good for around town.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Avid Snowboarder I bought this on a recommendation from a friend that's part of the omniten group. He suggested the omniheat system after using it last year. I bought the jacket and hit the season opener for Brighton here in Utah and I was extremely impressed. I wore a t-shirt under the jacket and that was it, and I was actually hot on the runs. I could not be more satisfied with this product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great protection, exterior stains way too easily Let me say first and foremost that, functionally, this jacket is fantastic. It is extremely warm, breathable, and very comfortable in temperatures down to about 5 degrees Fahrenheit (so far). Unfortunately, the exterior material stains far too easily. I have had the jacket for a little over a week, and there are already several stains that are significantly discolored. I have had 3 other Columbia/North Face winter jackets, and have never had issues with staining like this. Perhaps the black color would be better (I chose the graphite), but I am very dissatisfied with how poorly the jacket has resisted staining in such a short period of time.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Terrible Sizing I'm giving this review strictly on sizing. I searched forever for a good winter jacket, and thought surely a company like Columbia would have something that would fit a 5'7", 135 lb. male. Unfortunately, a size small is baggy with long sleeves and essentially makes you look like you're dressed up as the Michelin Man for Halloween. It's incomprehensible to me that companies like Columbia cannot provide a modern fit for a slim human being of below average size. You know, like a lot of people who exercise and enjoy the outdoors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As advertised Great jacket. Light and very warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warmth without weight I have only had one opportunity to wear this coat as our temperatures have not as yet hit the daytime cold of winter. But one recent evening I went to a HS football game in a T shirt and took the coat with me knowing the temperatures were to drop into the low 40s. When I got cold, I put on the jacket and was toasty warm for the remainder of the evening. It is so light in weight it did not burden my movement in the least. I was truly amazed how warm and comfortable I stayed with only a T shirt beneath.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product has great features After much research I have short listed Platinum 860 TD and Gold 650 TD. I live in Minneapolis and wanted to have a warm jacket with light weight. My earlier jacket is a heavy one and I hate to wear it for long hours. I like 650 TD over 860 TD because it has more synthetic material and less price. 860 TD has more fill but it has more seams compared to 650 TD. More seams means more susceptibility to cold leakage. I spoke to sales person in Mall of America and he has recommended 650 TD over 860 TD. I ordered this product online and after it arrived to my home I opened it and I felt so happy to wear it. It is so soft, light weight and very comfortable. I like the hood as it is thick and warm. The only disappointment is it has only two packets. They would have added one more packet to keep cell phone and car keys. The two side packets are very useful to keep your hands in the cold. It is a great product. I have to still test this product in the freezing temperatures. I am guessing if I add one more layer of a fleece jacket in the -ve temperatures I should be fine. The outer layer looks like a plastic material and hope it last long. I am just thinking a sharp edge material might cause some damage to it. Anyway I like the soft, warm and cozy feel. So who cares about other less important things.
