Rated 4 out of 5 by Ghriogair from Quality product Performed well in a situation of freezing rain/sleet. Have not had opportunity yet to use it in heavy rain. Size runs smaller than advertised. It is a nice looking, quality product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Saramina329 from Well constructed jacket. I bought this for my husband as a birthday present. He had expressed he wanted a dark green color and Columbia conveniently had the dark back country which is the shade that he wanted. He didn't want anything heavy, he just wanted a light rain jacket that he would be able to put a hoodie under if it's too cold. I did my research and purchased this jacket and the big plus was that it was on sale so I didn't hesitate to buy it. He is 5'7 close to 200 lbs and the large fits him perfectly where he is able to still wear a hoodie underneath. It's still an attractive looking jacket, it has very well placed and convenient to access pockets. He likes the option of being able to adjust how deep the hood lays on his face. It's not a loose boxy fit, Perfect buy so far.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Eddie19 from Men's Hailtech™ II Jacket I think the overprotective mother must have fallen asleep! The sizing is way off from Columbia gear I have purchased in the past. Would not order on line again

Rated 4 out of 5 by ChristyLynn from Runs Small My husband loves Columbia and wanted a lightweight rain jacket for Christmas. I thought the Hailtech II would completely fit the bill. Well made, lightweight with classic styling, it even shipped quickly as well. My husband normally wears an XL, but when he tried it on, it seemed a bit small. So, unfortunately, we'll have to return it for exchange. I didn't get a packing slip with the original shipment, which I believe is supposed to be included with a return, but hopefully it won't present an issue in the exchange.

Rated 4 out of 5 by AndyBreaksHisStuffAllDay from great light compact jacket This jacket is light, great for summer hiking in unpredictable weather, and it compacts down to about the size of a coffee mug. comfortable, breathable, and just what I needed for 14ers in the summer and low elevation hikes spring through fall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hegpbd from Great for traveling I bought this jacket specifically to take to south China in November and December. It is light, breathable, waterproof, and packs up into a small space. It was warm enough when the temperature was 40F or higher but it was often too cold in those mountain areas of Yúnnán province to wear this jacket alone. In those situations I wore a light weight down liner underneath it and that kept me perfectly warm. I recommend buying one size larger than normal to allow for a liner and for the fact that it seems to run a bit small.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Chuck18 from Men's Hailtech II Jacket This jacket is perfect for our NW weather. Water/wind proof and is surprisingly light weight! I normally would wear a large, but found that I needed the XL to accommodate a fleece jacket when it gets colder. This jacket fits the bill for knocking around town or on a hike. Good bang for your buck!

Rated 2 out of 5 by long01 from Men's Hailtech™ II Jacket I usually love Columbia sportswear,I have many Columbia coats, jackets and other items. But this particular jacket is way off size wise.I ordered an extra large which normally would be fine but it was too small.Had to return it and get a 2xx which still fit tight. This is the only jacket-coat that I have ever had to get a 2xx size, and for it to still be small???

Rated 5 out of 5 by Milldog from Athletic Director Purchased this product for our outdoor coaching staffs. Quality is excellent and they are lightweight enough so that you can layer, but waterproof for Oregon weather. The coaches were very impressed with the jackets and enjoy wearing them. I purchased them in a variety of sizes and are true to size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by JakeM from Casual User Using primarily as something to kick around town in during the rainy season. Very lightweight and allows for a comfortable range of motion. Used cycling a couple of times and it was quite useful for that as well due to constant changing weather and the fact that this jacket is super packable. Color me pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Riverguide56 from Great Rain/Wind Jacket Got this to replace a ripped off North Face jacket that I liked very much.(guess they really needed it ).. but this jacket surpasses it completely. The fit is pretty much spot on I'm 5'10'' 180 and got a large. This jacket not only does what you expect waterproof wise but also breathes well. I like the hood cord retainer also, instead of bulky annoying ball clamps. Have alot of Columbia gear and this lives up to their quality as always.
