Rated 4 out of 5 by Bill44 from Great but small I have been wearing Columbia shoes for over 15 years. While I love the shoes, they run smaller than the others I have had, Other than that, they are great.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Schibnation from Soles peeling This being my first purchase of Columbia shoes, I was excited to see how they might perform. I'm not impressed. I have purchased many items from Columbia and have had good/great results. However, this purchase didn't hold up. I bought these shoes in January and they have seen moderate use on less than rugged terrain. Mainly grass and concrete...walking. They have held up their end of the bargain with regard to being waterproof, which was a main reason for purchasing them. However, both soles are peeling off on the rear inside of the shoe. I haven't had this problem with the brand of shoe I normally buy, so it's not my stride or the pronation of my foot. I guess I figured Columbia would have a better return policy for defective merchandise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by rosco069 from Very comfortable These are my third pair of Columbia shoes. The first lasted three years... more or less. For the last year, they've been in pretty rough shape through prolonged use. The shoes have held up very well, with the only issues resulting from normal wear and tear. This has also been my experience with the second pair. Excellent build quality. The overall size is just right for my foot. They are a little narrower than I would like, which is the only reason they are not getting all excellent rating. I suspect they will stretch out a bit as I wear them more often.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Finnslayer from Love my new mountain trail kicks I’ve been waiting for the New England weather to break to get out of my titanium’s and into my new outdry/ mountain mosochise for less bulky hiking. I love the fit and feel and the fact this shoe breathes and keeps me warm and dry while crashing through iced puddles and frozen mudd. The instep /arch is a little high so be aware of that otherwise it’s a great trail / hiking shoe that does what it’s engineered to do.

Rated 4 out of 5 by erick87 from These shoes are just right for my needs I bought these shoes to train and then walk the Camino de Santiago in Spain. I would have given them a 5 star on quality, but I haven't done the walk yet. But so far the training I have done with them is very good and I have high expectations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by pdxwalker from My seasonal go-to shoe I walk my dog a lot, ~9 miles/day rain or shine in the Pacific Northwest. Every Fall my wife and I buy at least one new pair of Mountain Masochist Out Dry's to keep a couple pair in rotation. They keep our feet dry, they give the right amount of support walking sidewalks and trails and they're nice and lightweight. I usually wear a 9.5/10 in other brands, but a 10.5 in these is just right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Gianthawk from Outstanding light weight trail shoes I have worn the Masochist outdry shoes for several years. I have used these shoes for several ultra long distance hikes, including a 650 mile hike and several other hikes of 300+ miles. These hikes were in varied conditions, including mountains, trails, rain, and even snow. I also use these shoes in the gym and city walking. These shoes have held up very well in these conditions. I recently returned from high altitude hiking in the Swiss Alps and Italian Dolomites and the Masochist shoes were outstanding. The waterproofing of the shoes works very well, without being excessively hot, as other waterproof shoes can be. From my standpoint, these are the most comfortable lightweight hiking shoes on the market.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JaySon from Great shoe, dry & warm toes I've owned and worn out, two pairs of these shoes. They were my go to winter or wet weather shoes until they were completely worn out. It didn't matter the terrain, they handled it. I miss them dearly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ceege from Awesome Shoe!! Great support, very comfortable. Second pair of this style and they are outstanding. I usually wear a 10 1/2 and found that an 11 is perfect in this style. I also have a higher arch and narrow ankle so I would tell anyone with this same description to grab these shoes, they are awesome!

Rated 2 out of 5 by PR45 from 2nd Pair, Quality Going Downhill I purchased my 2nd pair of Mountain Masochict III's in advance of a trip to Portugal and Spain. I found this shoe to be excellent for walking on a variety of surfaces. On my 3rd day in Lisbon I felt 'something' wrong with my right shoe. I realized than a portion of the sole had come loose -- photos attached. I was able to pull it off and purchase glue to re-attach the loose piece of sole. I had to make this repair several times over the next 2 weeks, but I was able to make full use of the shoes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Daytripper38 from Great shoe Took it on a 10 miler and loved it. The traction is great on these and withstood scrambling over rocks and rough terrain. Also waterproof but breathable. I would definitely recommend. I measure 12.5 but ordered a 13. I have to crank down on the laces for a perfect fit. I wish they had half sizes.
