Men's North Plains™ Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot is rated out of 5 by 15.
Rated 2 out of 5 by apsweeps from A bit disappointed. I actually bought two pairs of this boot, one intended for light hiking, the other for yard work. The light hiking pair had an issue with the insoles coming loose and sliding to the back of the boot while walking. This occurred on both shoes of that pair, but was fixed with an application of Gorilla Glue. I've had four other "waterproof" boots of various brands in the past, and have been let down by the claims on all but one brand. Unfortunately, the Columbia boots are another let down. I've never actually had them immersed, such as in a stream crossing, but just walking through wet grass has left my socks sopping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MattMan from Nice hiking boots Love the boots...I agree with most, they run 1/2 to one full size small (had to return the 1st pair). Have not done much hiking or walking yet, but I know when I will have any issues and these feel just fine - we'll 'get along'.

Rated 3 out of 5 by RickGreen from Just Do Not Fit Right I have 6 pairs of Columbia hiking boots I wear for work every day and these just don't compare to all the others size wise. I had to exchanged my normal size for a 1/2 size larger that it still doesn't fit right but I do like the style and weight of the boot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by WildBill244 from WOW !!!! I'm a USAF veteran who's been a hunter and camper my entire life. These boots are perfect for my back issues. Not only are they light weight but they are also rugged and well constructed. I have been looking for a hiking boot that would not only work well but are light enough to not put excessive wear and tear on my back. These are those boots !!! Mushroom season opens soon here . I can't wait to put these boots to the real word tests of a season of climbing up and down hills through streams and rivers. I'll return here after I've given these boots a rough test and update this review. I went back and bought a second pair because I love these boots that much. Companies change designs so often I had to have a second pair for when these are worn out. Enjoy the outdoors my friends and stay safe out there !!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Hagrid from Worth it I really like this shoe and I'm ordering my 3rd pair. I'm a big guy (6'4" 290 lbs) and I need a solid shoe. This shoe or "boot" if you like, provides just the right mix of ankle stability and solid sole without being too rigid and uncomfortable. Like many, I have some minor arch pain so I find that adding an insole helps a lot. I would note that since I tie my shoes fairly snug, over time the laces stretch out and become *very* long. forcing me to double or even triple knot them to keep from stepping on them. Not a complaint, just an observation. I should prob just change out the lace with a shorter one once that happens.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Benkenobi1 from Men's North Plains Boot Mid Hiking Boot This boot is not really waterproof. I was hiking up at Mt. St. Helens, and the mesh area actually takes in water. I happened to be hiking in a small area of water that went over the mesh portion of the boot, and my socks became immediately soaked in moments. It might be alright if you walk in areas of water below the mesh area, but it is not as advertised. I used to sell shoes, so be careful on this one. The rest of it is great, especially traction wise on wet rocks, and I probably will only keep it as a backup as I got a great sale price on it. The finish is great, and I actually purchased one with the overall color of gray and black. It had gold laces. I really recommend buying a fully enclosed leather boot if you intend to do any hiking in water or snow as I needed it for. I am going to buy another boot just because of this problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by John1023 from Awsome Great boot! I hike over 50 miles each month. These boots are lightweight and exceptionally comfortable. I have had no problems with hot spots or blisters. They have done a great job keeping my feet warm and dry. I would recommend these boots for a novice hiker to a all out Sherpa. Great product at a great price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by timb from Very nice! I bought these specifically for a trip to Europe as we will be walking a lot on varied terrain. When I tried them on, it became pretty obvious they fit well and would not require any break in. They look great and will be very functional for what i need them for!

Rated 5 out of 5 by 6foot8 from Great Boots I've had these for 2 weeks now. Very comfortable, great fit. Seems to be of very good workmanship. Excellent ankle support. Light in weight compared to other mid-height hiking boots. I will buy another pair when these wear out.
