OutDry™ Extreme is our first ever waterproof and breathable fabric technology constructed with a waterproof layer on the outside and soft, wicking fabric inside. Traditional raingear uses interior waterproof membranes which don't allow for air flow, and water-repellent coating that degrades over time. With OutDry™ Extreme, the rugged exterior is an incredibly water-tight membrane with millions of microscopic perforations that let water vapor escape through a wicking membrane directly fused to the shell.
Part of our Titanium line, this incredibly warm down jacket is fully seam-sealed and features rugged, external taping that makes it look every bit as waterproof as it is. It also features a super-soft chin guard and an adjustable storm hood with a removable, faux fur collar.
This product is made with 100% responsibly sourced down. We are committed to ensuring the highest industry animal welfare guidelines. Learn More »

Over Priced and Under PerformingI purchased the product based on various reviews and firsthand discussions with resellers. On my first outing with the jacket in sub-freezing temperatures (27 - 32 F) and layers of a t-shirt and sweatshirt, paired with Columbia gloves of similar construction, I was barely kept warm. While the product was light weight as advertised, despite all the high-tech involved in its design and construction, in the end, the jacket failed to retain my body heat, or generate additional warmth. Unfortunately my expectations for this premium priced product were not met.

Wanted to like itI REALLY wanted to like this Jacket. I get a corporate discount so I can get this a lot cheaper than retail, so I went for it got what I hoped was an awesome coat. First of all the Large fit fine I'm about 5'7" 175lbs. However If I wanted to layer up and move around I felt that large wasn't going to cut it for me. I'm a photographer for a tv station and often have to throw a large camera on my shoulder. The large was too tight when raising my arms. I had to get the extra large. Now I had room to move around but the jacket was too big. With it being too big I don't think the turbo down/omni heat can do it's job properly. I will say that my previous turbo down coat isn't as warm as I had hoped either. Looked good on paper but just isn't as warm as a good old fashioned down jacket. With the EX Heatzone coat the couple times I went outside to test this in temps around 0 I felt that it really wasn't keeping me as warm as i hoped for...Was this because it wasn't hugging me tightly and keeping my body close to the material? possibly? Or is this technology the same as my other turbo down omni heat jacket? Next, the rubberish top water resistant layer is awkward to move it. It felt like a big bulky rain jacket. That part I hated. The blueish color I thought was dull and it just looked bizarre. The fur hood was too big and fit too loose around my head. I REALLY wanted to like this jacket. I don't like having to write a negative review like this. For a jacket you pay this much for it had better be awesom and it just isn't in my opinion. I will say that I found, on clearance, an old fashioned Columbia down jacket at a local retailer (a lot warmer and move comfortable) ..I love it. Glad they are still offering traditional down jackets because that jacket is comfortable and extremely warm. I love that one.

Like it so farI really like it so far...good for what I need it for but surprised that the "black" was more of a grey color.
