OutDry™ Extreme is our first ever waterproof and breathable fabric technology constructed with a waterproof layer on the outside and soft, wicking fabric inside. Traditional raingear uses interior waterproof membranes which don't allow for air flow, and water-repellent coating that degrades over time. With OutDry™ Extreme, the rugged exterior is an incredibly water-tight membrane with millions of microscopic perforations that let water vapor escape through a wicking membrane directly fused to the shell.

The Titanium Outdry Ex Gold Tech shell is like breathable body armor with advanced evaporation and a fully seam-sealed construction featuring an attached, adjustable, storm hood. It also features underarm venting, a slightly dropped tail, adjustable cuffs and hem and high-tech Light Rail™ zippers on the hand pockets.

Men’s OutDry™ Ex Gold Tech Shell Jacket is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not what I expected . . . BUT A LOT BETTER. At first was nervous the lightweight material would rip easily or wear out fast. And even thru his everyday wear and tear, the coat is in great condition and he says he's total dry. Love it!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just for Fishin' I am an avid fisherman and needed a jacket that was waterproof. After weeks of fishing in the rain, this jacket has met my standards. Its not pretty and will never see the inside of a washing machine, but it keeps me dry. I'm 6'4" 215lbs and a large fits me great with a little room for warm clothes underneath. The sleeve and waist length are perfect for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loving the new tech So far this jacket has been amazing it is waterproof find me a jacket I can put up with the outside. This jacket has such a specific purpose but the colors and the seam tape don't bother me due to the fact that I'm on a hiking trail and I don't need to look too good, but it does still look good. If I ever find the jacket on sale or be buying another one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Men's Outdry Extreme Jacket I have been nothing but extremely happy with my jacket. I have worn it coaching in an extreme downpour, went snowshoeing at Mt. Rainier, and clam digging at Ocean Shores. It has always kept me dry and not overheated. The underarm vents were very helpful on my snowshoeing trek. It was also very easy to clean when I returned from clam digging. It fits extremely well, but also allows you to layer underneath. The hood fits your head and stays on in a wind without having to clamp it down. It was also very comfortable when wearing a daypack on the hikes that I go on. All in all, this is an amazing jacket, and the only thing that I am still holding judgement on is if it's waterproofing will remain constant through the life of the jacket without having to always apply additional treatments. I have not had it long enough to see if that holds true.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best rain jacket I've been looking for a good rain jacket as my old jacket from another brand wetted out on me. I wanted to buy a jacket that wouldn't have that problem since it is not cheap to buy a high performance jacket. The material feels strong and even though it's an active fit jacket, it still has room for my titan ridge fleece or my 740 turbodown underneath depending on how cold it is outside. It definitely keeps the rain and wind out. The pit zips are prefect to keep you cool if you're being active while wearing it. Yes, it is a bit noisy and feels more like tarp but hey, no jacket is perfect. It will do what it was designed to do, which is to keep you dry. The black is more of a dark charcoal color. A little surprised it wasn't really black when I got it. Great jacket.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Honest review Disclosure, I am part of the Columbia Professional Purchase Program. So I'm a Columbia guy through and through. I am a professional adventure Cinematographer, shooting for Travel Channel, on my feet, in the elements, 250'days a year. I needed a rain jacket. This jacket was enticing. I have used Frogg Togg, Patagonia, North Face, etc. Here's the deal... What are you doing while it's raining? Hiking, fishing, filming? This makes a GIANT difference. There is no such thing as a "breathable waterproof" coat. Trust me. Either you are dry on the outside and sweating on the inside, or your jacket is soaking through. No way around it. Period. There is no breathability to this or any rain jacket. So that being said, this jacket is Bomb Proof. The "outside" taped seams is truly a game changer. Why wait for the rain to soak thru to the taped seams on the inside? **Concerns / changes. I wore this rain shell while hiking to Mt. Everest Base Camp, with the Passo Alto jacket underneith. My one issue is that the "pit vent zips" are of a poor design. They rub and "click" against themselves to the utmost annoying factor, with every gate and swing of the arm. The other jackets seams and zippers are "high-tech Light Rail™ zippers," which are amazing. Why Columbia didn't use this in the pit vents, I don't know. Tough to recommend. Want to stay dry but aggravated, this may be the jacket for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good first impression I continue to search for the perfect outdoor hiking jacket. They're too hot, too damp, they leak, they sweat or all the above. I got caught in a downpour with this jacket and stayed completely dry. Pants and shoes were soaked, so I know it worked. The fit and finish are first class.......Now, I need to spend a day in it on the trail.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this rain jacket, but arms run long. Living in the Pacific Northwest and working outside a lot. I needed a jacket that is really 100% waterproof. I have another Columba supposedly rainproof jacket, but it would fail after about 30 minutes of moderate to heavy rain. It's great for traveling and light rain days. But if you get caught in a heavy rain shower it would eventually fail to keep the water out. So I needed something a little more stout. Well this is the jacket. Light weight, very waterproof. It reminds me of the old yellow rain slickers we had as kids, but much more lightweight. because of the material it is kind of noisy. Kind of crinkly noise. It will not stop me from wearing it. Unfortunately for me I guessed wrong on the size and picked a XL for my 6'2" 225 pound frame. I have pretty long arms, but the cuffs went past the end of my fingertips. It also ran a little bit big through the chest and back. Usually XL's are perfect. I would suggest finding a store that carries these jackets and try them on first. I'm returning this jacket and getting a Large. I hope this works, because I love this jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Revolutionary! Outdry Extreme is a game changer! I was blown away with the performance. I live in Portland and was eager to get out on the trail on one of the hammering raining days we have here. The jacket was amazing. I stayed perfectly dry the entire day and it was like fire hose rain. The best part was the breathability. Even moving quickly up hill I stayed very comfortable. I strongly recommend Outdry!
