Rated 2 out of 5 by Conor from Big Columbia Fan, Yet They Missed The Boat On This One As in my review title, I'm a big Columbia fan and can't say enough about the resurgence they've had over the past 10 years... I personally own over over 20 articles of Columbia clothing so I regret to write this review today. This coat runs very large, I see reviews that say it runs true to size but I have an athletic V-shaped build. I work out and exercise often so if you have this similar build, make sure to buy at least one size down. The coat is also very boxy and not made with a shaped or fit cut... I'm not sure buying a size down would change that either. (Side note to Columbia, as many of your users have my similar build maybe you should come out with fitted lines of the same style article, similar to what Banana Republic does). Lastly, I would note that the OutDry shell is a bit darker than it seems in the pictures displayed on the site. I can't say anything to the effectiveness of the coat as I will be returning this unit so I did give it a "good" for function as it seems to be very waterproof. Note: I bought the Azul color in a Large.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous from Strange Fit It would fit if you have a square shaped body. The quality and the functionality of this jacket are as expected. This jacket is 100% waterproof and performs as marketed but the fit is awful. I have lots of Columbia jackets and have never had this issue before. When I put this jacket on it looks so sloppy due to the square design. If you typically purchase small jackets pass on this one if you like a more fitted look. Also as mentioned in other reviews the color is definitely not your typical black... its more of a grayish black.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Nighty920 from Negative temps I have worn with a hoodie or my Columbia fleece, I am surprised how well this membrane stands up to negative temperatures: not sure of it's solo performance yet. The picture looks puffy/down filled but it is thin like a rain jacket yet holds up to record Wisconsin low temps. My last Columbia interchangeable lasted 15 yrs. I hope to have the same success with my recent purchases. Such a great deal I purchased 2 different styles for the price of my older one. Columbia you have a customer for life!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by DaveV0429 from Versatile, lightweight and packable I picked up two of these. One for myself, one to gift. Quality is legendary. I ordinarily wear a large but this jacket was chosen for winter in southern climes...without the need for layering. Being reversible is an excellent option for a casual around town look, but I prefer the Outdry look. But the option is welcomed. Waterproof and stylish...very pleased with this purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by SolidStateGear from So close to perfect Pros: Waterproof Waterproof Waterproof. Looks good too. Cons:. Runs hot, needs pit zips. Drawstring around base of jacket would have been nice too for windy days. Been wearing this jacket for a couple months now, first things first, this IS a waterproof shell. Been in a few downpours hiking and biking and it stays dry inside, period. No seam seeps or anything, the only way it gets wet inside is if you take it off in the rain or sweat in it. Legitimately waterproof. To be clear this is a hard shell type jacket, in the pics it looks a bit puffy, like it has some insulation, but it is just a reversible shell. Expect to layer up underneath it for low temperature use. I bought an XL and found it to be roomy enough to wear an insulating layer underneath, but not too bulky without it. While breathable, it lacks pit zips, so it runs pretty hot for a shell. Depending on how hard you play, or the temperature you play in this may or may not be an issue. Looks great either side out, the soft side looks a bit more casual, sort of a zippered hoodie look, but the pockets on that side don't zip, so you dont have zippered internal pockets both ways. A breast pocket would have been nice too... But that's splitting hairs. Shiny side is all business, almost looks like rubber raincoat material, but a closer look shows it to be much more technical. Looks good, modern and serious. The Outdry fabric is pretty impressive so far, I hope it proves to be durable enough for legitimate long term field use.
