Men's Palmerston Peak™ Water Short is rated out of 5 by 19.
Rated 4 out of 5 by MontanaAl from Nice and Lightweight I like the red colored one but even the Medium is a little large for me (5'7" and 165 lbs).

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lann from Amazing! Perfect for my husband! He’s 6’4” and always has a hard time finding long swim shorts. These were great! (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 3 out of 5 by morepocketsplease from less pockets now My husband loves the shorts and wears them all the time. He especially loved the older versions which had more pockets Each version of the shorts have had less pockets. I see that the newer version of these shorts only have the zipper pocket and none of the side pockets. They need to go back to the older versions with the multiple pockets. He wears the shorts very loose so while a large would fit nicely, he wears an xlg for the baggy fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sirikit from palmerston shorts My husband has these shorts in all colors available. For Florida weather, nothing is more comfortable on your skin, he said. The 2 different lengths are very convenient. For me it's the easy care . Just a short washing machine cycle and a few minutes in the dryer, and they are ready to wear.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Tilda from I thought these were shorts. When I saw "water" shorts I figured they were quick drying. They come with a nylon insert like a bathing suit. I was disappointed. Additionally, they were larger then other columbia shorts I had previously purchased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MSFL from Great shorts Love these shorts. I live in FL and basically live in these almost every day. They are well made. I love it has mesh inside (no underwear needed when wearing these) and they dry super quick. You can jump in the pool and swim in these or go to the store. Very very versatile. I am 6" 5" and 215 with a 38 waist and a large fits me fine. THese do well in the wash--I have these quick dry from Columbia that are over 3 years old and still going strong. If you live in FL these are great shorts. They also have plenty of pockets so you can put your wallet and keys and go to the store no problem. I wish Columbia made more of these types of shorts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Inukshuk from My new favorite casual shorts Most shorts compromise. These don't. Fabric is light and comfortable, yest doesn't sag. Pockets are deep enough that things don't fall out, plus the extra zippered cargo pocket for things you cannot lose - like wallet and keys. Substantial enough to wear on their own, when it gets cool in the evening they are thin enough to simply slide a pair of pants on over the top. I'm buying another pair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Catydyd from At long last I bought a similar pair of Columbia shorts several years ago at a major outdoors store, but have been unable to find similiar ones recently. Many online retailers carry these shorts now, but Columbia not only had them in stock, they were on sale in great colors. Three new pairs fit perfectly and are nice and long for kayaking, so I've ordered two more. Thanks, Columbia!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Dover from Other reviews pretty accurate These shorts really are great. They can be worn as everyday leisure shorts or as a swim suit or as hiking/camping shorts. Like others have written, they do run a little large. I'm 6'2" & 260 and usually wear a XXL or size 40-ish bottoms with a looser fit (had muscular legs since I was a kid). So, I ordered an XL, green -- great color by the way, not to army/khaki, not to royal/hunter. The XXL fit extremely well. I mean they actually fit. There hasn't been a compromise of fitted waist with loose legs or right legs with fitted waist. If I was any larger they would be tight; so now I have another reason to lose a few pounds. Also, with a 33" inseam, the 11" length is perfect length, right to me knee. The 9" may have shown a little too much leg. If they still have my size, I will order more, even on the same color. There are two versions of the same shorts on the website. I presume one is a newer model. If anything is different I can not speak to it. There were a number of negative comments about the included webbed belt. At first I though they were all correct. Then I realized that the belt is not stitched to the waist of the shorts. This means they can be tightened, if, once one is wearing them, the belt is pulled straight to the left. It should slide inside the sleeve so the webbing can be tightened further. Unfortunately the clasp is going to slip at some point because of general body movement. I was happy at least that the belt was not stitched to the sheath at all which allows it to be pulled as tight as one can make it. (I could pull it out of I really wanted to, and replace it with another webbing belt with a better clasp, for those interested.) The clasp is also small enough to be worn under the waist belt of a proper backpack. They are totally worth it especially if you get them on sale. I paid $20. Not sure if I would have paid more than $30 but I have a hard time paying extreme prices for most things except a great rain jacket and or a 3-in-1. I hope this helps somebody.

Rated 4 out of 5 by skipdog from I love these shorts! I was down to my last 2 pairs. One has a hole and the other is covered in paint splotches. I didn't even think they made these anymore, and was so glad to see that they do! Bought 6 pairs this time. My only gripe--and this has not changed since I bought my first pair years ago, is that the belt does not stay tightened. The reason I buy the shorts is for the adjustable built in belt. Just wish it worked better!

Rated 4 out of 5 by HotInSC from Water Shorts I have been a buyer of Columbia water shorts for years, owning about 10 pairs. I love the product as I am a big sweater and these shorts stay dry. The only issue I have with the Palmerston (11") is that the crotch is a tad short, causing the front of the shorts to ride lower at the waist that I would like. Otherwise they are great!

Rated 2 out of 5 by LKGlakeboy from Way too big According to the size chart I was in between a size small and medium ( size 32 wast). I ordered the medium and it was way too big. Such a shame too, they were just what I needed for a kayak trip.

Rated 4 out of 5 by vpakg from Very good, but... This is a very good product, light fabric and comfortable. The fact that you can choose the length is also very nice. However I have two small complaints: 1. I wish there was an option to buy without the internal net. I ended up cutting mine out because I don't like it. 2. Sometimes when biking with this shorts, the fabric rubs against each other making a "plastic" noise.
