Rated 5 out of 5 by SteveMc from Perfect for travel I bought the pants for the hidden zipper pocket and it works well. After removing the pull cord, the zipper is nearly invisible. In Barcelona, which is infested with pickpockets, the security of having a pocket that is difficult for someone else to get into, that is sturdy and well made makes this perfect travel clothing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Sullyvan from WHY DID YOU CHANGE THE PANTS? The Old peak to road pants were amazing. I loved them and had several pair. I ordered the new pants and they are nothing like the old ones. I am not satisfied and I wish you would make the old pants, or re-name the current Peak to Road pant because it does not hold the same quality that the previous pant did. Any info on if Columbia is planning to make this change back please let me know.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Ulymag from Fit So much discrepancy with changes with the fit of these pants. Not comfortable at all. Think Columbia is adjusting the fit to current style trends not comfort.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lee3 from Good Versatile Lightweight Pants I ordered Size 40x32 because many of the reviews said that these fit slightly small. The actual measurements were 40x33, and the front rise was 12 inches. After a couple of washings, the length shrunk about an inch to exactly 32, while the waist shrunk maybe 1/2 inch at most (probably because the waistband is lined) and the rise stayed exactly the same. Good fitting pants, straight cut but not baggy, leg openings fit over boots. The fabric is a comfortable, lightweight cotton canvas suitable for Spring thru Fall. Very versatile pants, as I've worn these out to dinner, to church, and also in the field.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Davo from Doesn't fit like the last version Doesn't fit like the last pant that looked exactly the same. Now, they are made in a different part of Asia and apparently Columbia has cut costs by using less material and making them a more modern fit. I'm returning them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by BrianL from inconsistent I've ordered 4 pairs of these pants. Twice I've ordered the Alpine Tundra color and each time another color. The Alpine Tundra consistently are an inch or more longer than the other colors so they get returned. Otherwise the pants are okay. At the sale price around $25, they seem a good value. I used to buy the original ROC pants at a department store in the past and felt that they were better pants.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Chuck63 from Columbia Sizing gets me Again! Unfortunately, the 36 Waist was very small and I had to send them back. That is the major gripe I have with Columbia is their sizing is inconsistent. I have a pair of shorts that I have the same problem with and I will need to send them back! The overall quality of Columbia Clothes is generally very good. When I am in a store though, I always have to try the pants on as they are so inconsistent in their sizing. I don't know who is making the clothes for Columbia, but one would think with all the complaints on sizing they receive, they would have done something about it by now!

Rated 5 out of 5 by SalesWorker from Great Utility I wear these pants to work and the pockets hold everything. Especially the zipper pocket for my phone and other stuff that may slip out of my pockets. They are sized great because I am slim and tall so the pants fit a little small.

Rated 3 out of 5 by GoodOleJimmy from sizes have changed some I've been ordering these pants for awhile now. They are a good versatile pant, even decent in cold temperatures, which is surprising because they are pretty thin. Columbia seems to have modified the sizing, I always ordered 33x34 but the last order I got, they seemed to be more close fitting then usual. So be wary of that. They still fit, but I have to break them in now, and they are more form fitting then before. The pockets also seem smaller, bigger pockets would be a plus. The older versions were pretty lose, especially in the legs. I do still like these pants.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Meditator from Thank you, Columbia I have been using this cut of pant by Columbia for many years, and have several pairs ready for retirement. I ordered the same size that I have been using, and which fit really well. When these came, they were one waist-size too small, though labeled as 36...I had to return for 38's. I would assume that I was getting bigger, but all the 36's I have still fit wonderfully. The material feels less durable...like they have retooled this model pant to make it lighter-duty and have resized the labeling... Other than that, I still use them as my go-to for all daily wear - from utility to casual dress. Thank you, Columbia for consistently creating attractive, durable, well-made clothing!

Rated 4 out of 5 by LukeWarmly from These do shrink but... OK. First I must mention that I am 5'11" 175 lbs. Usually Columbia's "medium" pants swallow me but smalls are too much so. These of course we're sized. I chose 32-32 which is what I wear in jeans. Now the website calls these Peak to Road pants "Active Fit". I was dismayed that upon their arrival the label clearly identified them as "Modern Classic" fit. That being said they were very comfortable but a little blousy for my taste. I decided to take a chance after wearing them and I washed and dried them. These shrunk considerably in the waist and length. As it turns out, the fit after being shrunk suits me just fine. Obviously your results may vary, but I may very well try to catch these on sale to score another pair or two.

Rated 4 out of 5 by EcoCraig from Good for my purpose These pants fit well and appear well made. I am an Ecologist and spend hours in the field. I've tried Carhartts and other "field pants" but keep coming back to Columbia's. They are light enough to be comfortable during Georgia's summer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by sailross from Too Baggy I like the fit of these as they have odd sizes, however, I tried two different pair in different in-seam sizes. Both pair had legs that looked like the 1970's bell bottoms. I know, I was there. Legs need to be more like the Global traveler pants, which are at least an inch less in circumference.

Rated 4 out of 5 by REBraun from Good Product First pairs of Peak to Road pants I've purchased. May be subjective on my part, but they seem lighter than the ROC pants. Inseam actually measured 31 inches instead of 30 inches, but a couple of washes in warm water and full time in the dryer for permanent press and they'll be fine. Waist actually measured 36.5 inches which is perfect. Overall, I'm pleased with the pants, but I think I'll go back to the ROC style in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by HD1200cd from Great Pants This is the second pair of these I have purchased. The others are a different color. They fit perfectly. I was really happy to be able to actually order my size (35). So many companies only do even sizes. Quality is excellent and they are very warm in the winter, but still cool in the summer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Pagey from Do Not Place in Dryer The label said, "when needed, tumble dry low". I placed these trousers in the dryer on delicate for 6 minutes. I pulled them immediately when dryer cycle had finished. Too late. The length shrunk at least an inch. 6 minutes! If you do not want shrinkage then give yourself 3 days for them to "air dry".

Rated 4 out of 5 by ILWorkingWifeMom from Great alternative to jeans I got these for my husband in the Tundra color, which I would describe as a deep grayish brown. They are very comfortable for him and, I think, stylish. They would be more stylish if they were a little narrower in the leg; they are very roomy through the leg. My husband is glad to have these because they're good enough to wear to church (he won't wear jeans there), but they're casual and comfortable enough to wear the rest of Sunday. There is a little cargo pocket on the side just above one of the knees, which makes these a little too casual for the office, in my opinion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Marc2344 from An excellent rugged pant I own several pairs of this pant (in various colors). My job requires me to be outdoors in hiking and trekking situations much of the year. This pant holds up very well in various weather conditions. I tend to like a more rugged pant, even in warm climates, and this pant does exceptionally well even in 100+ degree dry and humid climates. It travels very well, and holds up under heavy use. The pant is comfortable and fits true to size. I tend to prefer pants that have some room in the leg for comfort when hiking, and these are perfect. I highly recommend this pant.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Greener from Great pant I ordered a Tundra color. It is close to a navy but not as dark. The fabric is light but it seems to be a good quality. Very comfortable to wear. I wear them all the time when I am outdoors; I also wear them in my office on Fridays. I have discovered this pant three years and this is my third pair. I like to have couple different colors. Once I purchased it from Amazon but the product did not look authentic so I returned it and ordered directly from Columbia.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bobfiat from Best travel pants This is the 3rd time I have purchased Peak to Road style pants from Columbia. This time they have been upgraded so the waist fastens with a firm button (not just a snap like the old ones). I love the zippered pocket for security while on the road.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Dipike08 from Run very small The waste and length on these pants easily run a size and a half smaller than the 36x32 I ordered. I am 6'2, 190 lbs and actually wear a 34 or 35 but I like a loose fit but these pants barely fit...length is REALLY short. I mistakenly washed them before trying on so I couldn't return.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Ellsworth from Wish the Peak to Road had a snap not a button The peak to road pants are almost identical to the ROC pants that I loved. The only difference that I can tell is that there is a button instead of a snap on the waist band of the peak to road model. I really liked the snap and miss it. I'm a guy with a bit of a gut and when sitting for a long time I could loosen my belt and easily pop the snap open for added comfort in the ROC pants. I'd love to see the snap on future versions of these pants

Rated 1 out of 5 by Urban from Change is structure I have used this pant for the last 5 years. I have bought over 10 pairs of this style. The last 5 pair I received were constructed totally different from pants in the past. The fly was shorter thus making the rise shorter. The pockets were not cut the same and the legs were narrower that pants before. I can only think they changed factories and now I am not a devoted fan of this pant.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BradM from Perfect Portland Pants I bought these pants for my husband, and we BOTH love them! They transition beautifully from bike commute to work, can be dressed up or down, and have just the right number of functional pockets. The zip pocket on the side is great for keys, debit cards or anything you really don't want to lose, and the thigh pocket on the right side is great for keeping track of your cell phone. The quality of the material and construction is hard to even find these days, much less in a stylish, affordable pair of pants. Good job!

Rated 3 out of 5 by BackCountryGreen from Great quality but fit is tight The quality of this product is great, like all the Columbia gear I've seen. I find the thigh area is a little bit tight when stretching (climbing stairs) and it is a little tight when sitting down. Works fine for standing around or walking on even ground, but the cut is slightly different on the Ultimate ROC™ Pant and I find that pant is just a little more flexible and works better in the office and out in the field.

Rated 2 out of 5 by bronson2 from ...just so-so I've been wearing the same ROC and Peak pants for years, and this is the first time I've been somewhat disappointed. The waist is at least an inch too big, and the flax color is WAY too light... much more light-khaki than flax! Getting rid of the snap (that wouldn't stay snapped) is good, but the button may be worse. Waist banding cheapened, and the belt loops are intended for 3"-wide belts. ...at least the length was dead-on.

Rated 4 out of 5 by GeorgiaOutdoorEducator from Good pant, but odd sizing As far as the pant itself goes, it's great. Very versatile - looks great in the office, but functions well and holds up in the field. These are more of your office/casual pants though, not the first pant I'd choose for field work. The chief issue though is that it's not really standard sizing. It's just a little small in the waist/hips, but VERY small in the thighs. The length is also longer than expected. So when ordering, order a little larger in the waist, but a little smaller in the length.

Rated 1 out of 5 by ColumbiaDreck from Buyer Beware - 34 Waist Oversized I wear 34" waist pants and have for many years. Some run a little large, some a little small. These pants run 2+ inches large (as confirmed in several different pairs). I tried a 32 (too small) and a 33 is snug. Both run true-to-size but the 34" is WAY too big. Also, they DO NOT SHRINK and Columbia accepts no returns/exchanges if you tried washing them thinking that they might shrink. Also worth noting - all of them are oversized in the inseam/length as well but nothing outrageous like the 34" waist

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bearwolf19 from Big Girl Wears Mens Pants I am a heavier girl and I love these pants, they fit pretty well on me. The waist is usually wider but that is expected for mens pants (a belt fixes that). Columbia doesn't have larger sizes for women so these do the trick for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by muruml from Good Pants but too white Pants fit very well and are both durable and comfortable. However, I was a bit surprised to find that they are almost white in color. If I'd have known how light in color they are, I'd have chosen another Columbia khaki as they get dirty quickly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by 2amend from Waist sizes are way off I am a consistent 32" waist when I buy pants whether they are jeans or dress slacks. The peak road pants I received, though marked 32" for the waist measurement, truly seamed to be the equivalent to a 34" and literally slid right off my hips to the floor. These pants are of good quality, but apparently run very large.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Duke61 from tight fit These pants are a slim fit and were very tight around the butt and hips. When I purchased them on-line, they were not advertised as "slim fit". It was written on the pants label. Otherwise I would not have purchased them. Also, the material is less substantial than the old rock pants I purchased 5 years ago. And lastly, the zipper rise is short. They are not as comfortable as the old style when you sit down. Go back to the old style!
