Fell apart
The sole separated after one month of wear. The waterproofing did not work well either. Do not recommend.

Light as a feather!!
These are amazing shoes. They’re light which I love!! Keep my feet nice and dry. They’re a little wide but that’s great as I have a wide foot.
Extremely comfortable right out of the box. There was no breaking in stage. I took these on a 10k hike day one and had zero issues.
I highly recommend these!! (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Great first hike
Wore these shoes for the first time on an 8 hour hike rated "unrelenting incline" with loose rock & shale and had absolutely no issues. They were comfortable (no blisters or sore feet), were warm but not hot like I expected them to be, held great traction, and were waterproof (although only tested briefly). Plus they look good on the trail. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Just what I wanted
I live in New Orleans and ankle high hiking boots are too hot for me. Also, we have no hills! I wanted a h20-proof shoe with a hiking sole and this one is perfect. I have an older pair of Columbia hiking boots that are still in great shape and I expect these shoes to last too. I've worn clothes, etc from many different companies in the last 40 years but now Columbia is my first choice due to quality and price. These shoes were comfortable right out of the box.

What I Wanted
I ordered these shoes so I could walk on muddy trails after it rains here in Austin Texas. I had a chance to wear them a week or so ago and they are exactly what I was looking for. Wore them for a 4.5 mile hike. They were comfortable and my feet stayed dry. Perfect!!!

Outdoor alternatives
As a federal employee in natural resources, I spend much of my time in the field. As a shoe, this is excellent, especially in wetter areas. I was a little apprehensive since the top isn't very tall, but standing and walking in waist deep growth this week, I have no complaints. My feet were dry and comfortable. The laces initially seemed a bit flimsy, but are just as tough as those of thicker composition. If you're looking for a shoe that performs like a hiking boot, look no further.

Comfortable and Durable
I purchased these shoes for hiking and was very impressed with the durability and comfort. Right out of the box, I wore these for a 6 mile hike and was amazed with the comfort. The shoes felt as if I had been wearing them for months. I was so impressed that I ordered my second pair within 2 weeks. This shoe is By Far the most comfortable hiking shoe I have ever owned. Customer for life, thank you Columbia.

Very Comfortable, Very Dry
I love these shoes. They are what I reach for - even before sneakers. So comfortable. And so waterproof. The shoes look like they are going to let your feet get wet when you see the water on the outside fabric, but the Outdry works as promised. It really is nice when I am sitting in a rainstorm at my kids soccer game to not have to wear clunky boots. Highly recommended.

Terrific Shoes
I bought these shoes for work, due to the fact that my feet would get wet while working in the rain. They do protect your feet from water. They also got terrific grip on wet surfaces. Everyone at work wants to get a pair.

Both shoes broke after 1 year, a few hikes, on the same day; 1-inch split in each shoe
After owning these shoes for just under a year they both got a break along the outside along the middle of the synthetic overlay, creating a 1 inch hole from the rubber of the sole up through the overlay.
I had used the shoes fairly lightly over the year, doing about 5 notable hikes (more than 2 hours) total. I've used them when it is raining too while I bicycle, but other than that they were reserved for hiking.
After a hike a few weeks ago, the first one in significant rain, I noticed that one of the shoes had a split in the middle of the synthetic overlay, rendering that shoe no longer waterproof; very shortly after I noticed the exact same place on the other shoe was split. The shoes were both soaked very soon into the trail, although I had thought that was just from rain getting in the top.
Both shoes are now just barely water resistant, with a gaping hole that allows water in, yet they dry super slowly because of their intended waterproof design.
I am extremely disappointed in the shoes, having expected a high end product that would last several years, instead both shoes demonstrated poor construction when put to real world use. Unfortunately I also expected a better warranty policy than 1 year, so I did not apply for credit back within the 2 day window I had of them breaking. Regardless, I will not be getting my next shoes from Columbia.

Very confortable
No break in necessary, just put them on (with a good set of socks) and walk. I have used them on short trails and long city walks on damp streets and under heavy rain. The weather proof membrane does it work really well.

Fit is true to size of other shoes I have owned. Good cushioning and too much. Outdry tech seems to hold in heat and yet their is some breathing through the interior cushioning of the shoe will walking.

Didn't fall apart.
I'm hard on my shoes. Really hard. I work as a plumber and refuse to wear work boots as they weigh 100lbs and make for a sluggish day. These survived an entire year of daily use before the tread was worn enough to warrant buying another pair.
Wore em to work daily, walking the dog and everywhere else I went. Was surprised how much they breathe while still keeping my feet dry in the morning dew in the grass and.......plumbing mishaps. Bought another pair today. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Defintely Waterproof
Was helping a buddy working on a pool. Vacum got stuck underneath a shallow, sunbathing section that was about 3" deep. I started to take my shoes off, then said "what the heck, let's see what happens." I walked in the water about 8 feet out to free up the vacum. Not a drop got into my shoes. My buddy made me take my shoes off because he didn't believe it -- socks and feet were absolutely dry. He ordered a pair that afternoon......

I purchased these shoes on a recommendation from a friend. My friend had purchased another model of a Columbia shoe and was pleased with them. I purchased them specifically to travel to a wet climate. I am over whelmed with this product. They are warm, light, water proof and lace up effortlessly. Perfect for traveling! They are versatile and comfortable, from first fit. Sizing was perfect and I am looking forward to using these shoes as a replacement for my golf shoes on my return from the UK. Very Good Shoe
Overall a very good shoe and worth the money, though I wish this was available in a "wide" width. The breathable waterproofing works as advertised. Works as good walking shoe in addition to being a good hiking/trail shoe.

Light, tough
Out of the box, I wore these on an 11 mile hike through wet terrain & onto three rocky peaks over 13,800'. This is my third pair of this style (Colorado mountains eat them up every couple of years) & this is the best pair yet. The new grip pattern is sticky on the rocks, the feel is super light, all while keeping the moisture from the thick brush out. It's a little more spacious than previous models; nothing a snug tightening wouldn't fix, unless you have narrow feet. Definitely recommend.

Could not be happier
I have purchased many Columbia products in the past, but never online directly from Columbia in Canada. I have to say that not only were the shoes exactly as i expected in style and comfort, but the online shopping experience was friction-free and the shoes arrived earlier than promised. Overall a perfect shopping experience! (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Well Done
I'm a size 15, who cringes at the thought of buying online. I am going on a trip to Scotland and Ireland soon and wanted a waterproof sneaker for obvious reasons. Columbia has a reputation for good water repellent and outdoor wear. I found their sneaker online and am pleased to report that it is comfortable and well built, but do not know yet how waterproof. Could be a real winner

So far, so good
I've had some trouble with the quality of Columbia shoes over the past year and have sent back 3 pairs for various reasons. My first pair of Trailhawks were great. Super comfortable and allowed me freedom to hike in a variety of terrains. Wore them throughout our tour of Iceland and Scandinavia last summer but unfortunately the two part sole began to separate after about 2 months of use. Flash forward to my new Peakfreaks and so far, so good. They are very comforatble and are true to size. They are a little lighter than either the Trailhawk or Grand Canyon so we'll have to see how durable they are. I've also been accustomed to wearing a heavier shoe which is causing me to walk a little differently...I can't really explain that any better unless you wear them yourself. I'm enjoying them so....So far, so good!

Fit like a glove from the start
I have been wearing these shoes only a week, primarily on wooded trails with pretty good grades, and my feet have felt supported throughout over rocks, dirt, tree roots and the like. Since we are in the midst of a drought, I haven't had any wet areas/water to see how water tight they are, but have been pleased with the quality and workmanship in construction and, as I said earlier, the function and performance on a variety of surfaces.

Fantastic shoe
I've been rockin' version 1.0 of this shoe for the past year, and lately during Oregon's epic snow storms this winter, walking miles and miles on slippery, slushy, wet streets. I've also hiked these pups on soggy coastal trails. My feet are always dry as a rock inside, super comfy. And the shoes still look awesome.
I've also got waterproof street shoes made by a competitor, but these Columbia shoes are more comfortable and look better, so they end up being my go-to sneaks for day hikes and slushy walks in the city.

I've had these shoes for 2 years. From the harsh Chicago winters to the strenous hikes in Smokies, these are the best you're feet can ask for. I'm going for the ventralia razor hiking shoes this time. Got to see how the ventilation works out.
