Men's Peakfreak™ XCRSN II XCEL Low OutDry™ Hiking Shoe is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 32.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST WALKER SO FAR The best shoe for comfort and durability I have used. Had them almost a year and walk around 4 miles at night everyday on asphalt/concrete. Water proof is nice for rain in SW FLA.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Both shoes broke after 1 year, a few hikes, on the same day; 1-inch split in each shoe After owning these shoes for just under a year they both got a break along the outside along the middle of the synthetic overlay, creating a 1 inch hole from the rubber of the sole up through the overlay. I had used the shoes fairly lightly over the year, doing about 5 notable hikes (more than 2 hours) total. I've used them when it is raining too while I bicycle, but other than that they were reserved for hiking. After a hike a few weeks ago, the first one in significant rain, I noticed that one of the shoes had a split in the middle of the synthetic overlay, rendering that shoe no longer waterproof; very shortly after I noticed the exact same place on the other shoe was split. The shoes were both soaked very soon into the trail, although I had thought that was just from rain getting in the top. Both shoes are now just barely water resistant, with a gaping hole that allows water in, yet they dry super slowly because of their intended waterproof design. I am extremely disappointed in the shoes, having expected a high end product that would last several years, instead both shoes demonstrated poor construction when put to real world use. Unfortunately I also expected a better warranty policy than 1 year, so I did not apply for credit back within the 2 day window I had of them breaking. Regardless, I will not be getting my next shoes from Columbia.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shoe for winter running! I purchased this shoe as a compliment to my preferred light weight, soft-sole running shoes. I selected this as a winter-weather shoe for its waterproof quality, for warmth, and for stability when running on winter trails and non-shoveled sidewalks. This waterproof multi-purpose shoe met my every expectation in that regard. ONLY NEGATIVE, is after 4 months use in first winter, the upper shoe split-out just above my small toe, under the lower edge of the laces. The tread seems like it will last a least another winter if not two, but upper couldn't quite make it through first winter.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Running Shoe Review i purchased these shoes to replace the best shoes i had ever worn. I thought these would be similar, but the insole was of a very poor quality. My toes hurt every day after wearing them. I purchased some insoles and they have been a good fit. I would recommend Columbia investing in a better insole for these shoes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Didn't fall apart. I'm hard on my shoes. Really hard. I work as a plumber and refuse to wear work boots as they weigh 100lbs and make for a sluggish day. These survived an entire year of daily use before the tread was worn enough to warrant buying another pair. Wore em to work daily, walking the dog and everywhere else I went. Was surprised how much they breathe while still keeping my feet dry in the morning dew in the grass and.......plumbing mishaps. Bought another pair today. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Roomy These shoes seem good so far. They are VERY roomy inside, so if you have 'tall' and wide feet, like me, they are great. However, they might be excessive for someone with narrow feet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value! Columbia has really upped there game. Comfortable, waterproof shoes!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality of the shoes This shoe is extremely comfortable, it is a perfect shoe for hiking. The terrain can have lots off changes in elevation and when there are wet conditions the shoes perform very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shoe It is very comfortable and the waterproof is great. Runs just a little small. I usually wear a 10.5 and i went with the 11 and it fits well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PeakFreak I purchased these shoes on a recommendation from a friend. My friend had purchased another model of a Columbia shoe and was pleased with them. I purchased them specifically to travel to a wet climate. I am over whelmed with this product. They are warm, light, water proof and lace up effortlessly. Perfect for traveling! They are versatile and comfortable, from first fit. Sizing was perfect and I am looking forward to using these shoes as a replacement for my golf shoes on my return from the UK. Rated 5 out of 5 by from hiking shoe Very light weight , comfortable hiking shoe. It has the breathable yet water resistant feature, but I have not had to test that feature as i have only done dry hiking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Connie Got these after looking for a waterproof, lightweight pair of shoes that would be good for summer camping/hiking and during spring and fall out and about. These fit the bill perfectly. Living in Michigan, waterproof is very nice and these keep my feet dry. They are comfortable, offer good support and nice traction. Liked them so much I bought a second pair. Excellent shoes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good feel and comfort I love this shoe so far. I have only worn them a few times but they arrive in broke in condition ready to hit the trails. I have not walked in the rain or snow, so I can not validate their claim to being waterproofed yet. Good shoe though and I would definitely recommend them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight, comfortable and stylish Let me start out by saying that I'm not a hiking shoe kind of guy, in my experience, this style of shoe is usually either way to bulky or shaped in a way that accentuates the size of my feet in a way that I'm not fond of. I will also say that I bought these with the intention of using them for fishing related hikes. However, These things are so comfortable and they look so good that I wear them everywhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfort Wearing my second pair of waterproof hikers from Columbia, and so far so good! Rugged design looks good and is performing well indoors and out on the trail. Since my purchase I've put these to the test with long hours walking on concrete at work, multiple rounds of disc golf, and an accidental step into the creek. Happy to report dry and comfortable feet, thank you!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Versatile Shoe Bought these shoes for my husband for an upcoming vacation. They are some of the most comfortable shoes he's ever had, and loves wearing them to hike and walk around. They are well made and true to their word about being waterproof. Would buy them again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Give Me Montrail I sure hope the Montrail designers and engineers win over the Peakfreak variety. I'm not impressed with this shoe. It runs a little big in a 14, it's boxy in the toe and I don't think there's great support in the shoe. The Mountain Masochist is my standard of shoe excellence, which is why I hope Montrail wins.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great running shoe I bought these online. The fit is perfect. The shoe is comfortable and the Goretex top is waterproof and breathable. Keeps my feet dry. I am very happy with this purchase. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Could not be happier I have purchased many Columbia products in the past, but never online directly from Columbia in Canada. I have to say that not only were the shoes exactly as i expected in style and comfort, but the online shopping experience was friction-free and the shoes arrived earlier than promised. Overall a perfect shopping experience! (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outdry performs well Shoes fit well and very comfortable. Went hiking in an early morning dew field and feet stayed dry. Worked great!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the Outdry This is my third pair of shoes with the Outdry technology. I've noticed that the tread on the soles wears a bit faster than I hoped. I've used them on trails, beaches, and mud an I've been happy with them. This is a solid shoe for light adventures (something not requiring a heavy pack).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice shoe and lighter than we thought Overall a nice shoe. Not a mid or high top shoe so while water proof really not meant for anything deep or extreme. Overall if ok with that it's a great shoe!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So comfortable I bought these hikers for my husband who typically wears a 15 wide in other shoes and they fit great! They are fun and bright (and look much better in person than online).
