Men's Peakfreak™ XCRSN II XCEL MID OutDry™ Hiking Boot is rated out of 5 by 17.
Rated 4 out of 5 by LittleBootz from Lil'Bootz These boots are true to size and no break in period required. I have worn them twice for a 2 hour hike each time on a flat sandy soft dirt surface at Reservoir Park. They are extremely light and comfortable. I am concerned about the durability as I plan to use them on the Camino, but so far they have held up well. Overall very happy with these boots, will do a follow up 6 months from now, once I get some more mileage on them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Timmay45 from Quality Hiking Shoe I normally wear 10.5 and I ended up buying the size 10 for this shoe. I was impressed with the comfort and functionality of the shoe. However, the threads on the bottom are probably average for a hiking shoe so there isn't a whole lot of extra grip for more extreme hiking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Allico from Benchmark Shoes From Columbia Lightweight, Real Water proof, Much More warmer than I have expected. I use it in daily rainy days and also at cold fishing days on boat. It doesn’t slip on boat. I also loved the colors and material quality feeling. I only have a discomfort point in my left angkle but it is ok when I lose the cords around angkle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lostdog from NICE HIKING BOOT OR WHATEVER Nice light hiking shoe--Have only worn them for a couple of weeks but they seem to be good waterproof boot. The only thing I would do is to add a insert for more cushion.. Nice looking and very comfortable..

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rob54 from Great waterproof light hiker Great light hiker shoes, totally waterproof in the thunderstorms of Alabama, and yet amazingly breathable, 10x better than gore-tex in breathe-ability. Really great material.

Rated 4 out of 5 by CascadianAaron from Comfortable, Waterproof, but lacks foot protection Used these on several day hikes around the Opal Creek Wilderness. In rainy weather they kept my feet dry even with a few dips in the creeks. The traction was impressive and the nice wide toe box is very comfortable. Where they fall short is foot protection from the sole. Opal Creek is pretty rocky and the bottom of my feet took an absolute pounding on the hikes wearing a very light day pack. They really need to have some protection to be useful for anything beyond a groomed trail shoe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SeanMN from Great, comfortable hiking shoe. I bought these to replace a pair of Peakfreak XCRSN XCEL low OutDry Trail Shoes (first iteration) which I loved. I decided to go from a low to a mid top for extra ankle support on tougher hikes. I originally was going to go for the leather version of the shoe, but opted to get this version instead as it was a bit lighter weight (13.9 ounces vs 16.4 for the leather) On sizing, I'm usually between a 10.5 and 11, more often an 11. In this case the 10.5 fit much better which is why I indicated they fit slightly large. My foot is normal to slightly wide, and they fit well in that regard. This has been a fantastic hiking shoe so far. I've found it to offer great support and comfort on several fairly intense day long hikes. After owner the first iteration of Peakfreak XCRSN shoes, and trying on several other pairs at the Columbia store, these Peakfreak XCRSN II are my favorite that Columbia makes. I haven't noticed them to be too hot/warm; overall I think they keep my feet a decent temperature. The tread have shown to have really great grip on a variety of different surfaces (snow, rock, gravel, wet stone, etc). They even work well if you're wearing them as your daily shoe. Columbia's waterproofing tech, Outdry, is amazing. I've put it to the test several times, walking through streams 3-4 inches deep and my feet have remained completely dry. Down the road when it comes time to replace these, I'll definitely be getting another Outdry product. Overall a great waterproof hiking shoe that can also be worn daily.

Recently I purchased two different style but similar shoes however this is best feel and nice to wear it. I will definitely buy again same shoes if they continue to make this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Polio from shoe sizes can be tricky I was told I needed an ankle brace. Ankle braces generally don't work well. While looking for an alternative, Columbia sportswear provided one. A high top hiking boot. It comes up over the ankle bone and can be laced up to provide the needed support. I wear one size in woman's shoes (8 1/2) and a different size in men's shoes (7 1/2). Men's shoes often fit me better than woman's shoes. These trail shoes have a low tread and are much lighter in weight than my previous hiking boot. I think lighter weight high tops are the way to go. These are also waterproof. That's an added plus in the wet Northwest.
